361  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: how to start betting on sports? on: November 05, 2023, 09:05:29 AM
Analysis is the most important thing in sports betting. The more data analysis they can do, the better decisions they can make. Be it football or cricket first you need to get a very good idea about the team and at that time also keep a good eye on the recent incident. Because any player can get injured at any time. Sometimes even if you follow all the rules of gambling well, there may be defeat. This is a normal process. However, if after careful observation, the decision is defeated, it is also good because luck did not favor. But the main point is that the better the review, the better the decision. However, some unexpected events will happen in sports betting that is not occur always at that moment. It is better to not waste your time that only depend one luck.
So they should start learning analysis about sports betting and they can try it with their favorite sport as a learning experience. If they can gain more knowledge about sports betting analysis that they like, it can improve their ability to analyze matches and that means they will have a greater chance of winning their bets. But they have to know that developing analytical skills takes a long time, so they have to be patient and keep learning. Once they understand how they analyze sports betting, they can try placing bets but use something other than big money. Try to use small money first. And if they do it regularly and always analyze their bets, they may increase the number of bets. But still remember that they only use money they can afford so that if they lose, it won't hurt too much.

The OP said that he knows a lil bit about cricket and football, so he can start betting on these sports.
But should deposit small amount of money first, and test his prediction skills on these sports.
Start with betting on matches that he is most familiar of. Then, start gaining information for the teams he wants to bet with.
The more information he knows, the more comfortable he will be on betting those matches.
362  Economy / Gambling / Re: QuitGamble.com - Free Help for Problem Gamblers on: November 05, 2023, 08:19:00 AM
At least you came so real trying to solve a problem that's not solvable, not like other platforms that claim that everything that has to do with gambling is bad and as such people should stay away from it.
Did you see the URL? QuitGamble.com Which means you should quit gambling.

I have not checked your site yet, but I will do so one of these days to see the details myself, so I can recommend it to anyone who needs to get off the addiction page.
You have not checked the site and you make conclusion. I only read the introductory path which has no complete information and I may not be exactly be correct either. The introductory path does not talk about quitting though.

People that want people to quit addiction want addicted people to stop doing that thing that makes them addicted, like to stop smoking or gambling. It is better to stop than to continue to be addicted.

This site is good for gamblers who want to quit gamble for free, like a guide on how to combat their addiction.
I don't know the catch but the it seems their goal is to really help those gamblers who are having trouble with their gambling habits.
I remember, there's one thread here asking how to avoid addiction where you don't need to spend money or at least the cheaper alternatives.
Maybe some users can find this site useful or remind them on how to fall from the trap of gambling addiction.
363  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Never gamble in front of your kids. on: November 05, 2023, 05:47:01 AM
Gambling in front of your kids could go either way. For example, I remember my Dad gambling when I was young and my Mom would always make it a point to make fun of him when he lost. I remember thinking that all gamblers lost money chasing wins like delusional dreamers. It never made me want to gamble. It made me think that gambling is a quick way to lose your money… I can see how it could have gone the other way though if I saw him have some success in a casino.

What you can see around you at your early age will indeed have some sort of impact on how you think on things.
This is why for me, as much as possible, don't let your kids see you gambling in any form as they have different outlook on things.
It will be instilled on their minds what they think of about it, and they will carry it throughout their life.
It is fine if it is just friendly games or of similar concept, but if they see that your family is slowly getting ruined owed to gambling, then, that should be your turning point to alter your lifestyle as soon as you can.
364  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can Bitcoin help? on: November 04, 2023, 11:50:27 PM
If bitcoin's role is only to be a store of value like gold then it will not be able to assist the poor anyway. It already has a limited supply and if most of its supply is stored in a non custodial wallet by few percent of the world population then how will other people take part in it? Bitcoin needs to keep circulating in the market with local businesses so that it becomes a medium of value transfer. It doesn't matter if it needs to be bitcoin it can be something else and what i think is that bitcoin shows us a pathway of how it can be done where peoples financial freedom will be in their hand not controlled by few banks or asset managers.

Yes, mate, there is a lot of money in this world. What I mean is that in our individual countries, we have different local currencies and a huge supply of them compared to the Bitcoin supply, but yet there are still poor people. The question is, why has the money not been able to help them? We work to earn money, and we earn money to invest in Bitcoin depending on our choice, so if one invests in Bitcoin, the reward is profit generation in due season, but if someone doesn't invest in Bitcoin, they cannot depend on it to get profit. So, what I think is that Bitcoin can help those who invest in it make a profit.

We can't expect all people to invest in bitcoin because up until now, the population who are into btc or crypto is still small as compared to world population.
Also, they have other investment options that they are looking at like stocks, real-estate, precious metals and other tangible assets.
So we can't speak for the most of these people when it comes to their preference of investments.
But for those who are already bitcoin holders, for sure, they will find it favorable later on once they are seeing the price is steadily increasing.
365  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Can Solana hit $40 this year? on: November 04, 2023, 11:23:46 PM
Well Solana did get to $40 this year and than some more. Bitcoin price did pass $35,000 and Solana was at a price of $46 just yesterday.

It was up 16% and is now up more then 30% just in the last 7 days to lead all other alt coins in top of coinmarketcap. https://www.coindesk.com/markets/2023/11/01/bitcoin-retakes-35k-after-fomc-as-solanas-sol-leads-sharp-altcoin-rally/
staying at almost 42 dollars now and holding a 26% increase in the last 7 days according to Coinmarketcapitalization https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/solana/ so i think this is enough for OP;'s question to be answered and is it really hitting 50$? that is something that we can wait to happen .
do you know many solana project already move to polygon and ftx stuff wont go away easy, no matter what it will stick that way for long time
solana trade like hot potato, dont makes for long term bag, and most of their ecosystem was built in by the team not real adoption
well tell that to the supporters that specially seeing the potential growth as we can see now, but like what you said their ecosystem isn't that nice for long term investment so better leave when its hot.

If the OP by chance invested a significant amount of money by the time he posted this thread, which was about $20 at that time.
He is already getting 2x and more of his money. This is why if you have good feeling about the project, just throw some of your extra funds and wait.
But this will only be true to top alts like SOL, which is in the top 10 alts. But if you happen to invest in a pump and dump coin, those 8 months of waiting, will be a nightmare.
Because more than likely, such coin already exited the market in that time frame. So better assess the project you want to get in.
366  Economy / Gambling / Re: CryptoPhysicist - Your trusted crypto casino scientist since 2015 on: November 04, 2023, 10:57:41 PM
This is the first time I am seeing this thread and it was created since September. Op you are welcome to the forum. I really like the way you review the site with a comprehensive review and not like two or three lines casino review sites I have been seen. As others as said you can still visit other casinos to review them at least let not like 4 to 5 casinos reviewed in your side and don't only review the reputation casinos and also review the ones that are not doing well so that there will be compare and contrast by readers. Really you are good. You are welcome.

What I like about also is he mentioned about what reputation the site has in this forum.
With gamblers who don't know this forum, the link provided on his site is a very good initiative to let them know about a very comprehensive thread about the site.
That alone will be very useful to a lot of gamblers, because the specific thread of the site in the forum has very comprehensive feedbacks, reviews and discussions about the site.
I hope the OP will continue to provide the bitcointalk link on his reviews and if there's none, just maybe mention that currently they have no thread in the forum.
367  Economy / Economics / Re: Biting more than i can chew. How can i do better? on: November 04, 2023, 07:07:45 PM
Anyways, it is beautiful that you want to improve your financial management and plan for a more stable and responsible future. One suggestion would be to consider developing a budget that aligns with your current income and expenses. To create a clear picture of your financial situation and allocate your resources more effectively, start by tracking your expenses and identifying areas where you can cut or make adjustments. Also, you should set some financial goals for yourself, it could be saving a certain percentage of your income each month, which can provide a sense of purpose and direction.
Yes, he can start from budgeting and see himself if he's going to improve with a week trial. There are a lot of free budgeting apps that he can find on playstore but of course download only the ones that has good reviews and gazillions of downloads and has a good star rating.
Do this consistently for a month and definitely he'd see the difference of a former him and into a new him that knows how to budget and check his finances once in a while. This is actually a good start.

Most of the time, you don't need a budgeting app, however, if the OP thinks that it will assist him into this goal,
then by all means, he should try using one of this apps. There are so many free anyway these days.
But to start, he needs to itemize his basic expenses maybe for a day, then for a month (bills).
When he sees the list, that's when he can tell where he can cut off some of his expenses.
Then, if he wants to buy something, think twice at least. And ask himself why he is buying such item, it is want or a must?
368  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin in the last 5 years compare to now on: November 04, 2023, 06:08:28 PM
The way Bitcoin is been used by large and small companies and organizations. Do you think this will continue in the coming years?
If that is what you see and it happens now, then it is absolute that it will grow demand and its adoption.

We'd never think this thing happened because what is in our mind is full of uncertainties but we believe it now that this new technology gives us something new. As the years come by, we can expect more things like this -- and more people gain interest in investing, trading, and using this as a payment option. It is really true that the development and acceptance of the community takes years, not just a single day.

As long as companies, people are using this currency, there's always the possibility that the demand will further increase in the coming years.
Worry if we are seeing that the popularity of crypto market is waning down. That's when you need to seriously look out for what may possibly happen with this technology.
This is why it is safe to say that the number of users today is more than what we had 5 years back. We have seen a lot of people trying to join this market.
Of course, the hope of getting high profits is always there. And volatility factor is one major reasons why people are getting enticed to hold some of this currency.
369  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Must Read: Scams disguised as premium signal groups/channel on: November 04, 2023, 05:21:54 PM
That's why I never joined any of them even though I was just starting trading way back then.

Paid cryptocurrency signal groups are not worth it for your money, you might want to spend your money on your trading journey rather than trusting random people who "provide" trading signals. You have to know that technical analysis will not always give you profits, so why pay someone for it if you can make on your own. Making your own will help you grow, you might lose a lot of money first before your trading accuracy will increase but it's worth it in the long run.

Though I subscribed to free signal groups before, I haven't been in a paid one.
As I just wanted to observed how they are doing the announcement to their subscribers.
I found it not helpful as usually they will give the signal a lil bit late and you will be screwed if you followed their tips.
I don't know when it comes to paid ones, but I believe it is the same as they won't disclose all as mentioned by the OP.
There's no single paid signal group that has been highly recommended, meaning, there's none that is true to their claim.
Better learn your own trades and acquire those tricks thru experience. No one can steal those strategies from you.
370  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: What's your take on CEX platforms integrating DEX capabilities like swapping? on: November 04, 2023, 04:29:52 PM
What is the difference? It remains central in the end. It is true that it provides services similar to DEX, such as instant swap as well as liquidity, but they all remain central services, and this is the worst of the matter.

The big advantage that DEX offers regardless of liquidity is decentralization, so if DEX switches to centralization it will no longer have this big advantage and its use will be greatly reduced.

So I personally find no benefit from CEX platforms that integrate DEX capabilities.

You may not find this feature not favorable on your end, but I believe a lot of traders are using it.
Some traders are trusting CEXs because they can easily get support when they need it, particularly from those top trading platforms.
This integration actually is not new, it has been there for quite a while now as they need to cover all potential clients.
In my opinion, the use of this feature depends on the trader himself, whether he sees this as advantage for him or not.
371  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Trying to find advice and info about selling BTC on: November 03, 2023, 11:59:25 PM
Hello, I am trying to figure out a good reputable place or platforms to look for a buyer/buyers for a very large amount of bitcoin.
Basically, I have a holder of Bitcoin wanting to sell. They have roughly 392,000 BTC, and invested very early and held on to it.
Any advice or recommendations would be very much appreciated.

This doesn't seems believing that you have that kind of bitcoin and yet don't know how to sell it, if i may ask this then that how did you acquire such, if you buy through a particular means then why not go through same to sell your bitcoin, there are exchages, there are people trusted who perform an escrow service, incase you don't want to use an exchange, so it's up to you first, that what exactly is it that you want, are you trying to avoid the exchanges or make use of the escrow service providers if you are privacy minded.

Honestly, that's what I'm thinking too; he got to buy a lot of bitcoin, and yet he doesn't know how to sell it. It's weird that his question seems silly in my opinion too. It's very simple, and there are many ways to sell Bitcoin.

Google is there to provide guidelines on how to sell bitcoin. Then it also makes me think that 392 000 bitcoins is a huge amount; that is not a joke amount, and I don't know if this op is telling the truth on this topic he made. It was as unrealistic as it used to be for me, like it was just a made-up story to talk about.

Selling that huge amount will give an alarm to any exchange and they may ask for kyc details and such.
What he can do is use several reputable crypto-exchanges and slowly sell it. He doesn't need to sell it all at once.
Also, be very cautious it selling via p2p platforms which don't require kyc because he will likely be screwed.
If the OP is telling the truth or not, there are so many ways now how to sell your btc. Just look for trusted trading platforms.
372  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is the irreversibility of Bitcoin transactions a downside for an average person? on: November 03, 2023, 11:38:44 PM
Making it reversible is much complicated rather than simply double checking if everything is correct before making a transaction.

Even for an average person, that wouldn't be hard enough to do such simple thing to make their transaction safe. It's not that bitcoin's transaction being irreversible is a downside, the problem here is that some people are not concerned about their transaction might gone wrong because of a very simple mistake, they just copy and paste the address then that's it. That's why it's too late before they realized they made a mistake at their end.

We can't expect all people to double-check their transactions especially for those who are in a hurry.
This is why for people who are not yet crypto users, they are hesitant to touch this market.
They are worried that they may get it wrong and would waste their funds for nothing.
But even crypto users can make a mistake if they are careless with what they are doing.
Double-check or triple-check what you are doing, and check the network if you are in the right one.
373  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The possibility of another bitcoin hardfork. on: November 03, 2023, 11:00:45 PM
This has already been discussed. It's not easy to takeover Bitcoin, because Bitcoin is not only the network and miners but the users too. Without having the majority of everyone onboard - miners, exchanges, businesses, developers, community, holders and so on - this would be nothing but a costly and failed attempt of takeover. Something like what happened with SegWit2x.

And I don't think that Blackrock put that clause with intention of artificially fulfilling it, it's just a contingency for an edge case.

In my few years in the cryptocurrency business, I have seen many people say that they can take over the state of Bitcoin in the market, but almost all of those who said it were from the beginning hot topics about them.

But when the hype subsides, the issue gradually quiets down or cools down. So I also agree with what you said about Blackrock. We don't even know what it is really planning for something like that.

We have seen a lot of new projects claiming to be better than btc, even those forked coins.
However, we can see now that no matter what, they can't take over the popularity of btc as well as its adoption.
I think even if top companies will be behind with hard fork, they won't surpass btc's position.
374  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: [Guide] What is recommended to follow "Social Media Or DYOR" in the crypto world on: November 03, 2023, 10:34:42 PM
The fundamental investment rule of cryptocurrency is to always Dyor first. 99.7% of most social media crypto influencer recommendations are pure shill and social media is the space where most market manipulation is generated lately. Besides, the SEC lawsuit against Kim Kardashian, Jake Paul, Lindsay Lohan, etc is an example.
However, we have some experienced crypto traders who tweeted that chart analysis that's different but people still to do their own research.

In other words, we have the responsibility to validate what these people are saying even if they are popular personalities.
As we don't know the absolute truth behind their promotion, but we can do our own research if they are legit or not.
Most social media influencers these days are being paid, so they will say what they are hired for.
The good thing is with a lot of resources that you can find over the net, you can educate yourself on basically any subject you want to check with.
375  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Telegram Casinos good or bad? on: November 03, 2023, 10:08:46 PM

Gambling per se is bad isn't it? Specially if you don't have control and then you become addicted. What this supposedly telegram games (I haven't try one) is just make more games at our finger tips as the people behind this kind of projects knows that this is a billion dollar business.

So for now, there's nothing bad about it, they just want to make money out of us gamblers. But obviously it will open another flood gates for more gamblers to be addicted as it is very accessible and we don't know, maybe there could be underage playing those games as well.

They are good for those people or gamblers who are always mobile.
But my take on this, hard to trust significant amount of money on this type of casino.
If I will play on this, maybe I will just use loose change and that's it.
And if I will seriously play and use good amount of money, I will just use those trusted casinos.
376  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is It Late To Invest In Bitcoin? on: November 02, 2023, 11:57:12 PM
No, it's never too late. Yes,  you are too late in the event where the bitcoin price skyrocketed, but it's still not too late to invest in bitcoin because there are a lot of ways to earn through bitcoin; you can do holding, trading, etc. There are a lot out there. What matters is how you will earn from it; the answers will be yours. Don't listen to others claiming to be experts in bitcoin or whatever; at the end of the day, you are the one who will determine if it's too late.

Investing in bitcoin takes a lot of time, effort, and knowledge; it's up to you if you want to. I guarantee that investing in bitcoin will be worthwhile as long as you equip yourself with the necessary tools to do so. So don't be disappointed because you didn't get rich immediately. Be disappointed if you can't make yourself rich. It's better to do your own research and not believe in the hoax of others that bitcoin is not a good investment and it's too late, because it is not and it never was.

It is indeed never too late in this market. If you will get depressed because of this idea, then, would be hard for you to see the positive side of knowing this market.
And maybe, few years from now, you will have the same sentiments if you won't try investing today.
So this feeling is normal to most newcomers, but if you won't do any action, you will have the same over and over again.
377  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambler avoiding friends after a big win. on: November 02, 2023, 11:15:54 PM
So far this never happened to me whenever I win I always treat my friends or allocate a portion for them, and they do the same to me, that's the spirit of giving and sharing.
Yes, that's good because it all comes back to your own character, if you and your friends can do something like that and are willing to share it with each other, that's good, because there aren't many like that nowadays, especially since there are so many people who forget the kindness we have given to people. On the other hand, although I never expect them to remember, at least I don't try to forget my friends when I win, of course just treating them to a meal is good enough.

The point is that we should never repay anyone who forgets us when they get big money from gambling or winning, I personally often like that when I often remember to treat my friends, sometimes my friends don't remember to treat me, but that's never been a problem for me. I think maybe he needs the money to pay his debts and needs, so don't think negatively and expect a lot, keep your friendship and always be enthusiastic about giving without asking.  Wink

If you are indeed friends with other people, you are more than happy to treat them in your own way after a big win.
But for those people who are only friends at good times, of course, you will be hesitant to share your winnings with them.
This is why we don't know exactly the story presented in the OP, why such person is avoiding his supposedly friends.
I can't judge what he did because we don't know those persons, but if I have such win, I am more than happy to see my friends and celebrate.
378  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: I am new here and would like to introduce myself. on: November 02, 2023, 10:29:31 PM
Welcome to the forum mate and I love the fact that you’re able to speak up and since you already made mentioned of working on previous projects, I think it will be wise if you show samples of your previous works as this will also help  boost your chances of trust especially on the forum and I think there is a special board for developers on the forum. I wish you good luck mate.

He can go to the services section and see if there are jobs that are related to his experience or expertise.
Or better yet, he can create a thread offering his services, there may be people or projects that need his skills.
Honing your skills by experience will be a good one to improve what you acquired previously and you can also continue to improve what you have.
Also, he can post the link of his previous works. Most people want to see the portfolio so they know they have basis to look at.
379  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do not share your bitcoin holdings with everyone on: November 02, 2023, 09:31:56 PM
Some peoole always have that characteristics of intemedating people with what they have. Not only in crypto currency sometimes I wonder how somebody will be intimidating his fellow human being because of what he/she has. life should be a simple thing that everybody should understand. Sometimes we draw people's attention to ourselves. A man Got kidnapped by just telling his friends his achievements. and paid a huge sum of money for his Ransom.
People always want to dominate others and dignity and use means to increase it but they don't think that this might increase the risk for their life. Those people who are newly rich do such stupidity they want every person to know how much money they have. Why they are showing their assets to other, you are not making money for the people to know how much they are rich you make money to make your comfort zone and I think every person need to stay away from this type of preaching to others. What will happen if know your money, just comes in the eyes of the government and if Bitcoin is banned there then it would cause many other complications for you with risks to your life and your loving increase.

You can't avoid these days because they can flaunt their riches or boast using various social media channels.
But if you do really want a peaceful life where you don't need to always look over your shoulder, better be mum about your assets.
It is better to enjoy the fruit of your hard work with your immediate family. You don't need the praise of others to have a happy life.
Those who are very open in their socmed are indeed the usual targets of these fraudsters. They are just silently lurking around.
380  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Are Altcoins Fake? on: November 02, 2023, 08:38:05 PM
Altcoins are real and I don't think we can say that altcoins are fake because the evidence is already there and many altcoins that exist today are circulating so that indicates that altcoins are real but when talking about profits and fraud it is different in terms of context because in the end we already know that most of the altcoins or projects that exist today are hoaxes but we cannot say that they are fake because altcoins are real. I guess for this comes from our thinking because at the end of the day even if we don't believe in altcoins it doesn't mean that it is something fake because at the end of the day there are still some projects that are running and still viable like some of the big altcoins like ETH, BNB etc. But on the other hand we also have to realize that even though we don't believe in altcoins, it doesn't mean it's fake. But on the other hand we must also realize that this is only a small percentage of the majority that are indeed scams.

I don't really like being in altcoins right now because I am fully devoted to bitcoin, but I don't think that altcoins are fake because there are still some projects that can still run even though I am not in them.

Maybe what the OP can conclude about alts is that most projects are not real as the devs behind them are here only for profits.
But there are still few that have actual use case just like you mentioned, ETH and BNB or those top alts.
This is why every user should be very cautious in investing on any alt, particularly the new ones because they have very short lifespan.
Simple digging on these alts would give you insights if the project is here for long-term or not.
