1321  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Ryan Garcia vs Mercito Gesta (January) on: December 18, 2022, 09:01:38 PM

I don't know if their decision to cancel the tune-up fight will help Ryan Garcia's situation or not, it would be a good chance for him to prepare against his fight with Davis because this Gesta is also touted to be like Davis too, but less risky because the latter's career is already going down. Nonetheless, there's a particular reason why they didn't push through the tune-up fight.

And for me if Garcia will perform well in this fight he will gain more hypes in his career, not sure why he thinks that he doesn't need the tune-up against Gesta, just an opinion maybe his camp see something that might be a disadvantage to them, maybe in this fight he can be exposed by Gesta and Davis will be more ready for him.

Just my own cents, but whatever it is, those fans who wanted to see Garcia before the Davis fight will surely be curious why he did not want this fight to happen anymore.

We don't know their reasons but of course, they have something in consideration that we don't know about.
But this tune-up fight is a needed one to know where Garcia at with his preparation with Davis.
Anyway, if Garcia will directly fight Davis, I believe, Garcia will be the underdog on this match.
A long lay-off for me is not advisable as he will be needing a lot of preparations before the fight as you need to condition your body.
1322  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Reasons why the 95% of future traders lose all of their money on: December 17, 2022, 09:58:05 PM

Most people that call themselves traders are not what they claimed to be. Some I guess were not properly groomed well in the process, some did not rey have the knowledge of how it works, no demo, no practice. They just finished watching maybe a YouTube channel attributed to forex trading and after that they delve into spot trading saying they have the knowledge of what they are doing and at the entire end blowing up their account. I  only pity people who have no idea about these people and are desperate to make money. At the entire end they get into the wrong hands and their investment ends up being blown by the self acclaimed traders.

This is the same issue with some so called forex trading company. They have blown lots of account and investors funds all in the name of trading to make profit when they know they are not good at their claims.

Some people called themselves already a trader because they execute a trader but not just only this because being called as a trader is like a huge name but in the wider perspective being a trader is really big investment of knowledge and skills to make sure you can make a proper execution of the trade with this knowledge, skills and experience can come up with the proper profit and execution of trades that's why being a trader is a hard thing that's why only few people stay with it because they know already the essentials and some of them too are not going with it because they lose a lot of money than they have.

Yes, this is true, They are calling themselves a trader even if they did it for only a week. I would say that future trader is losing their money since they are executing their trade without a proper plan and are emotionally triggered if they lose a position.

Most of them actually don't know what they are getting into. Should just stick to spot trading because the risk in futures is very high.
A lot of new crypto traders I believe are going into futures because of the idea that they will get rich fast with this venture.
However, they will soon find out that futures can easily rekt their funds in no time. You have a lot of things to consider in this type of trading.
Much better if you are using your extra extra funds. So it is not hard in your pocket. Some are using borrowed money, which is not an advisable thing to do.
Spot trader needs a lot of experience and skills before they will see good profits, how much more if you venture in futures?
1323  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Bybit now forcing users to carry out Facial recognition when withdrawing. on: December 17, 2022, 09:42:26 PM
Now imagine if one is in an emergency, and they needed the money ASAP and the device they are using has no camera for facial recognition, I wonder what someone would do  Roll Eyes
Well, if they were smart, that person would learn not to use centralized exchange to store their crypto ever again.

This is so irrational and stupid
I heard other exchanges are doing that as well, increasingly asking for verification for withdrawals, especially if stablecoins are involved.

We are heading to this verification requirements so traders and crypto users should prepare for what's to come.
Use centralized exchanges that you think are worth giving your personal details as well as your facial identity.
Limit your exposure to these exchanges as much as possible. We have no choice with their requirements but to comply if we have money on their vaults.
We know a long time ago, that transactions involving stable coins would really ask for kyc verification, so not a surprise if they are asking for your kyc.
1324  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What are you doing with your alt bags on: December 17, 2022, 09:18:54 PM
Almost all altcoins are now making new all time low, Gala games for example look like it's going to 0.015$ after holding 0.025$ for months, I have halted my buys right now because I believe that BTC will go lower, what are you plans?
Honestly, you are investing altcoins that are certainly at a low value in the market, therefore, it was hard to expect them to look green while Bitcoin is also on the decline situation. These coins are more independent of Bitcoin and when it dumps, these altcoins are badly affected and dump more.
And if you have trust in these coins, I suggest that you extend your patience and keep them, never think about selling them as you are probably at loss. May these coins will surge during the bull market, you'd better wait for that moment. If you have some funds, make use of it for other coins which are more profitable than these coins that you have mentioned.

Maybe not only profitable but a very solid one that you think won't continuously decline its price,
but with high chance of recovering once bitcoin is also going up its price.
And with this consideration, you should consider alts with very strong presence in the market.
In terms of its application, should be widely used by many crypto users, just a good example is the ETH project.
Discard alts that you think are stagnant with their updates, because more than likely, the devs have no future plans for this project.
Better get something rather than wait for the alt to lose its value and lose your money without a fight.
1325  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Qatar World Cup Betting Tips on: December 17, 2022, 08:52:56 PM
We have only 1 game left tomorrow, France v Argentina. And that could end in a very boring final and an easy victory over France. If you look at the results of the last few years, France has done considerably better than Argentina. Argentina's last World Cup title was in 1986, and France's in 2018. And there was no luck involved. From an individual point of view, I also think that France is much further ahead than Argentina, which is mainly due to Messi and his form of the day.

We will probobly see a really low amount of goals in this match so i would go with Under 2.5 goals in this final between these two teams. But overall im picking Argentina to win because of Messi mostly. France is on paper better then Argentina but in the finals you can never know for sure

Under 2.5 goals has odds of about 1.65x. Not bad if this will be the results.
Seems the possibility is high as these two teams will be at each other's throats.
Hard to determine which team will be the final winner, so better check other betting lines.
But if in any case France will win on this one, maybe Mbappe will beat Messi this time.
Mbappe is still young and he has still more years to play on this sports.
1326  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Your mood cant chage a game results on: December 17, 2022, 08:12:18 PM
superstitious people are usually like this, they think their mood/emotion will affect the result of the game they are betting on. that being said, while moods do not affect the result of the game, a change of mood or being too emotional can affect the way you gamble. I mean being moody can make someone decide something that they don't normally do when they gamble and it throws off how they usually gamble.
Well, the mood will not change the outcome of the game, but the mood will have an impact on how we play. I often feel this way when playing, it means that our mood influences the game. Emotional is part of the mood, many people say don't play with emotions, because the results will be very bad. This means that metaphysics or superstition is not put forward here, but rather how we get carried away while playing.
Mood is something different in my opinion, we must pay attention to this when playing, so that we are not carried away by bad moods when playing.

Everyone has their own beliefs when they are playing, but when it comes to the results of the game,
definitely it depends on the athletes involved or the game itself, not what you feel.
But for some, they have such rituals on where to bet, and that's fine, we are all free to use the strategies that we think will help us in our bets.
Just don't impose such practice to others as it may offend some people, but you can very well follow your own thoughts on this matter.
1327  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Just how bad is the bear market right now? on: December 16, 2022, 09:59:27 PM
Just how bad is the bear market right now?
Historically low prices have endured for a longer period of time in the present bear market cycle than in any other.
I am not really worrying this current bear amrket. but I am worrying about the next wave that may crash the amrket and will worse the amrket. Moreover, currently there are so many big FUD that will give bad efffect tot he big platform. After the falll of FTX, I am starting to worry about other exchanges. This FUD may keep continuing and will probably make the market worse again. But whatever happened, be patinet and never panic yourself, so that you can control and manage your self during the worse bearish amrket again

If you are worried about using centralized exchanges, then, get out your funds after you finished trading.
At one point, we do need to use their services, so we can't avoid them.
This bear market is always part of this market, but I do believe that we will get out on this market trend.
If more people are getting into and learning about the benefits of crypto, there's always hope that we will bounce back.
Just a matter of time when we will see the line moving up again, and by that time, one should be prepared so as not to regret why you didn't do anything while the price level is relatively low.
1328  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Are we ever going to see this on gambling platforms some day. on: December 16, 2022, 09:48:13 PM
I would fully support this idea because I have played Mortal Combat since the first version and I would also support other beat em up games where you fight like Street Fighter and alike, this should be a very nice option and most probably should be welcome by many gamblers who like more the games of skill than slot machines or other luck based games.

The casino can take 1-5% as a fee from the winner and this should be also Ok for them,I wonder though why I have not seen yet this option anywhere and I am sure the first one of the casinos who will implement it,it will become immediately a hit for them by substantially increasing their user base.

I think if more users are suggesting to a casino to try this kind of game, they may really include it in their list of games.
Who knows, a mere suggestion will turn to an actual game inside the casino?
Because these casinos are looking for ways on how to get ahead of this business, so a new and exciting game would be a plus for them.
Try giving this link to casino's rep here and see what they think of. They maybe looking for new games to attract and sustain their players.
1329  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [BOXING] Manny Pacquiao vs. DK Yoo on: December 16, 2022, 09:20:08 PM
It is true that martial arts is different when it comes to boxing because the rules are also different, but martial arts is also about speed and to respond well in such attacks by showing how good your reflexes are. And seriously, I didn't saw those attributes to DK Yoo when he was facing Pacquiao recently on the ring and frankly that's the reason why DK Yoo's face is now becoming a meme.

Maybe because of the difference in the fighting nature, DK Yoo's approach to Pacquiao is not shown.

It's also worth noting that they also fight within Pacquiao's comfort zone which is boxing.

If we changed the situation where Pacquiao will fight DK Yoo in a martial arts fight, the result might have a chance to favor DK Yoo since that is his nature.

Exactly, but of course the exhibition fight will be in boxing because it's more popular, and Pacman is very popular in that sport. Just like Mayweather, he didn't fight in UFC so he continued his dominance against a UFC fighter which is Conor McGregor.

This was only an exhibition fight in boxing, so the reason why the rules were in favor of boxing.
It was a charity bout so no big deal with the results but Pacquiao showed his prowess inside the ring even if it was just an exhibition fight.
Definitely, if it is under the protocols of UFC, the outcome may have been different.
Anyway, Pacquiao showed that he was indeed a boxing star on this match, where a lot of people were still waiting for him to fight one more time inside the ring.
So hopefully, he got good amount to help whatever charity organization he was intending to assist with.
1330  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 99% of People Will Lose Crypto in Self Custody on: December 15, 2022, 09:51:49 PM
While he has a slight point, I'm really not a fan of the 99% number, knowing how frequently attacked centralized exchanges are.

Is this fancy wording? Almost 100% will lose some money due to fees (excluding miners).

I'd put the figure at below 20% losing all the money they send in the first transaction due to anytbing from malware to lost passwords/nmemonics.

99% of investors in crypto since 2017 have probably lost money due to a hack or an inside job where the exchange goes offline - there are indirect results like crashes too that can take out people's funds as well as the hack of bitfinex and the mismanagement of ftx.

It may not be 100% but it is just saying that most users will lose their funds one way or another by trusting these centralized platforms.
One should take care of his own funds by using noncustodial wallets where they have full control of their keys.
I believe each one of us may have lost something from these trading platforms, like you can't get out anymore your small funds.
So yes, there are other situations that you may consider looking at when you use centralized platforms, not only hacking or inside job events.
1331  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Gemini allegedly hacked, 5.7 million emails leaked on: December 15, 2022, 05:44:06 PM
It seems that need to stay as far away from centralized exchanges as possible. They will steal not only your money, but also personal data. What will be stolen next?

If exchanges can't ensure the safety of data (not to mention deposits) of their users, then what right do they have to demand KYCs and other nonsense?

Of course, there is no question of compensation for users. But someone will definitely succumb to phishing tricks and suffer. Now it will be the problem of the users themselves, and not the exchange, although it is known who is to blame.

I hope only limited info was leaked as I do have account in Gemini.
If partial part of phone numbers are acquired, then these hackers can't get in as there's 2FA auth that they will send you via your number.
So more than likely, you may very well receive phishing emails if they got a hold of this email list.
They also asked for KYC details such as valid ID so hopefully the site has their security protocols in place.
Using this platform because of BAT that you earned from Brave Browser.
So I guess a lot are indeed using this exchange not only because of this BAT earnings.
1332  Economy / Economics / Re: Use your money wisely. Invest or Deposit ? on: December 14, 2022, 09:07:04 PM
It is not a good idea to invest a significant portion of your savings in any one asset, especially a volatile one like Bitcoin, without a well-thought-out plan for managing the potential risks. Diversification, or spreading your money across a variety of different assets, is one way to manage risk and protect your savings.
However, if you are looking for a long term investment plan, then I will say this is the best option.
And remember this.
Quote
Don't invest what you can't lose.

Also, don't forget to invest in tangible assets, look outside the crypto market.
Think of real-estate, jewelry and other assets that you think you can easily own but will assist you when you badly needed funds.
Bitcoin is one digital asset that you can own, however, to ensure that you will have something to go to when crypto is in bad shape,
you need to consider other tangible assets. What if you can't access your wallet for any reason, and you need money immediately?
1333  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: FTX drama stressing people for no reason | How to stay neutral on: December 14, 2022, 08:13:49 PM
and in the end he was arrested too, after several weeks of still enjoying the free air without feeling guilty. The FTX victims are of course happy with the news of SBF's arrest, and they will also demand compensation, but whether they can still return or not is still a matter for the authorities.
people who have lost money because of FTX become stressed and until someone is desperate to commit suicide because they experience bankruptcy and lose all their assets. We hope that several related perpetrators must also be caught and given appropriate punishment and fines.
A new chapter will begin, we have just seen Sam Bankman Fried arrested, for sure at every trial he will continue to sing who will be involved in the incident. In fact, I think all of the employees working under Ftx will be investigated and also the outgoing flow of funds will definitely be a meeting point in the future. we are just waiting for this case to come to an end where it will be seen a certainty of clarity from the beginning of the incident that occurred on Ftx. indeed, if you remember, this case is very regrettable that it could have happened so quickly after terra luna because Ftx is the second largest exchange after Binance but sam bankman has done ridiculous things behind the scenes which have made all of his customers suffer losses.

this is the link posted by saylor on social media twitter i think sam bankman went through a lot of ridiculous roads before he really fell https://www.axios.com/2022/12/09/bankman-fried-funded-crypto-news-site-block?utm_source=twitter&utm_campaign=editorial&utm_medium=social

He invested in the wrong companies or should I say not profitable ones.
Maybe if those companies earned huge profits, he won't be on this situation.
Because he can return the assets what he had used. But the problem was he used money that was not his.
Good to see if SBF will go to jail, but will his customers get something back from those funds that were lost?
1334  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why still keep the money on phone? on: December 13, 2022, 09:32:09 PM
Android is one the biggest operating system used by people in the world. Many hacker and cheater try a million way to hack that OS from user to steal his money, many hacker have succeeded and many user lost his money in the wallet.

if vulnerable why people still keep his bitcoin on wallet phone?, are they rich? Why they give his bitcoin to the hacker?

You make it seem like the people really wanted to give their bitcoin or coins to the hacker, it's not like that they handed it freely.

Actually, that's the thing. People are already accustomed to hold some of their coins on some applications/wallets and there's a reason for that. Some are spending and using it on a weekly/daily basis and it's not that they are really hodling it by using a prone-to-hack storage. By now, people already know what to do about their coins and only hold big chunks of coins in a cold storage where it is really safe.

I think it is more on convenience purposes why some people are still holding coins via their smartphones.
I can understand such practice if you have like regular need of coins but for long-term holding,
not advisable to store it in your wallet within your phone. You are subjecting yourself to potential hacks.
People will only learn their lessons if they are screwed by these fraudsters. Until then, they will do what they want to do.
Some lessons are expensive, we can read it again and again, and yet many are still neglecting simple pieces of advice.
1335  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why every casino got bad habits? on: December 13, 2022, 08:50:23 PM
Why this is the principal of all the casinos? Why they can't operate without having any issues? They always do this shit; who knows what has been done with people who don't know how to deal with such a casino. Can you show me a thread that never had any reputation issues on this forum?

Would you be able to run a business without making a single mistake?

We're human after all, we make these things and the longer you run a business the greater is the chance of you messing up.

It's not important if a casino has a scam accusation here but if it is finally handled in a professional way. A casino can ignore accusations or respond in a thread.
There are many false accusations too where someone starts a thread but fails to provide proof of misconduct.

I am more on this thinking, as long as the casino resolves the issues on hand without delay, then that's fine.
Also, some issues or complaints were not the casino's fault but the player himself.
So you need to read what the complaint is all about because definitely, you can't please all players.
At some point, the casino will deal a troublesome player, who doesn't read the ToS of the site.
In my opinion, if the casino resolves such complaint in a satisfactory manner, then, I wouldn't consider the casino as problematic.
A business can't always run in a smooth manner continuously without any bottlenecks encountered.
But if they can overcome such bottlenecks successfully, it will earn credibility from the community.
1336  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Hello i want to make traders dream come true on: December 13, 2022, 08:10:54 PM
It's nice that someone has a dream that seeks to achieve, but do you expect someone to follow you without trust? You need to build trust first so people can follow you.

In any case, creating a pump on a coin, even if its price is relatively small, is not easy in this bearish market. Also, do not forget that the market is currently in a state of distrust due to the recent unfortunate incidents.

So do not expect many people to follow you in your dream. Anyway, good luck to you.

I hope these traders will think first before they join any pump group.
From what we have seen, the owners of pump groups are the ones benefitting from this activity.
Why? Because usually they will give their pump signal a lil bit late and they already bought ahead of the members.
And that is why, when members of their pump group are in the buying stage already, these owners are already in the selling stage.
So yes, don't deceive users here about offering such dream, because in reality, you can't assure that this activity will be profitable for them.
1337  Economy / Speculation / Re: You sure bitcoin/crypto isn't losing popularity to sustain whopping 16K coins? on: December 12, 2022, 07:14:07 PM
Let's just let people think that bitcoin can't survive the current situation. In the meantime, we can continue investing in bitcoin because we get a discounted time when the price of bitcoin can decrease. In the future, the price of bitcoin may not be where it is today. So we still have time to invest while others still doubt the capabilities of bitcoin.

If you already have almost 2 bitcoins, you can continue investing in bitcoin until you have 2 bitcoins and hold them until the price increases again. We should use the current opportunity to buy more bitcoins while we still have time.
We cannot do anything about what other people believe, if someone chooses to believe that bitcoin is the worst asset in which they could invest their money, then they can believe that as it does not affect me if they do, I will simply keep doing what the majority of the members of the forum are doing, which is to save all the fiat I can afford and then buy bitcoin while it is still cheap, as I know that bitcoin will eventually recover, even if those which are against bitcoin do not really believe this can happen.

It depends on the belief of the person why a person will go into crypto.
For most crypto users here, we do highly believe that it is only a matter of time before we see it rising again.
For some who are outside crypto, they don't want to invest on this market because of too much negative criticisms towards this market.
However, no one is oblige to put their funds on this market. Should be on his own free will because this is an open market.
Anyone can get a hold of crypto if they want to, but they should know the risks involve. This is why one should educate himself on what he is getting into.
It is not about popularity why btc is below 20k, but it is owed to news like the FTX failure that contributed to such decline in price.
1338  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Accumulation phase is out!? on: December 12, 2022, 05:31:30 PM
Selling pressure was losing its momentum when we touched 16k USD but the sideways trading continued meaning a buy/sell correction was going on and to cause the reversal of the pattern more buying pressure was needed at that point. Eventually 17k was reached and price is hovering around that range. I do expect the reversal to happen now and gradually the price will go up.

Though the year end is upcoming and we can always expect another bear run because some cashing out occurs during this phase every year, let us hope for the best and not rely completely on previous patterns.

Expect the unexpected in this market and be ready with both fiat and crypto at hand to buy/sell respectively for maximum outcome if you are trading in this month.

With this type of market, it is hard to rely on previous pattern as the situation is different from previous years.
Just consider the adoption, I believe more people are into this market today if we compare it in the last couple of years.
So we can say that the demand may be different today. However, we can't determine what it can possibly do to the market.
The change is still hard to quantify when it comes to its influence in the market. We are still speculating about what may happen next.
Accumulation is always here, depending on what you want to hold and when you want to dispose it.
Just take for example, the price of btc today is still good to accumulate if you do believe that in the next coming years, it will recover its price.
1339  Economy / Gambling / Re: Spiroll.app V2 Available! - New Crypto Casino - $10 Signup Bonus! on: December 12, 2022, 04:08:44 PM
Welcome to the forum! Somehow @janggernaut found a little anomaly about the casino bankroll. It is an obvious red flag even if you reduced the maximum win, It would be better to be honest with the maximum win for about $200,000 so that you still have some allowance to give on other players if some how a very lucky gambler hit that max win. If you can't pay big winners on your casino because you did a mistake on having a max win limit, I'm pretty sure you will turn up on being a scam casino and we all don't want that to happen. It's always right to be honest since you are  a newly established casino, Having that kind of bankroll isn't that much shameful.

The mistake you did OP is forgivable but yeah members here wants things right.

The findings is somehow the reason for the deletion of thread because they knew something’s not right with there data provided. This will surely raise the concern but that’s not enough to conclude they are scammer. We are all just scaring new casino to launch here without giving them a chance to explain for there action. It’s not even a day since the whole action happened yet the accusation already concluded.

It’s good that the OP recent update is to release proof of bankroll to clear all the doubts here.

Let us give them the benefit of the doubt and see if they will be true to their word.
Right now, no one has scammed yet. But if you are not comfortable with their site, it is your prerogative not to deposit on them.
Everyone starts from somewhere. They may have a cloudy start but they can still redeem themselves.
Just keep your eyes open and be open minded with things. Let us wait how they will disclose their bankroll to prove their financial capability.
If they are sincere to put up this business, they will find a way how to gain the trust from the gambling community.
1340  Other / Off-topic / Re: How can a rookie freelancer get jobs? on: December 11, 2022, 09:57:41 PM

When I started doing freelance job on Odesk (now known as Upwork) like 10+ ago, the competition is not that tough to get a job. Obviously, the salary is also very low since you are a beginner and doesn't have the experience. So I just took it and just try to learn the tricks on what I'm doing. Until I got many clients that time and then my earning started to grow. I guess it had some element of luck or the market is not that saturated. So the best answer is just try to grind out and apply as many jobs as you can and maybe you will find your dream job as a freelancer. You already have the skills unlike me in the beginning where I have to learn and relearn everything.

That's the advantage of the OP, he has skills already so he just need to apply it.
He can always check online job sites and accept even if the pay is low.
As time goes by, you can add those small jobs to your resume list.
You don't need to be a part of big project as you are just collecting experiences at the moment.
Also, he can create his online portfolio so people can easily check out the quality of his work.
