421  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gamble Responsibly on: September 27, 2023, 03:57:49 PM
I also suggested that to the child's parents, to immediately limit their child from gambling, but if I suggested that they should stop it immediately because by stopping it directly there would be something even worse than gambling addiction. So I suggest limiting it gradually step by step.
That is the correct way to reduce it gradually and not force it to stop instantly because stopping someone's addiction cannot be done very quickly, it takes a process and time to recover, sometimes it can take years depending on the level of addiction. The higher the level of addiction, the more difficult it will be. and it takes time, if the level of addiction is small then it could take months at the earliest.

I have seen the application of such a method by reducing it gradually and not pressing to stop completely, it will be painful and will also continue to complicate the situation. I think as a parent you already know the character of your child so you know how to start and the most correct way is by reducing it slowly until it becomes saturated and finally the child can stop completely.

If you really want to stop gambling addiction, the best way is to indeed slowly let it go. If you go full stop instantly, the chances of you having a relapse because of sudden cravings for gambling is high. This is because for a very long time, you were dependent on gambling that it became a part of a routine which you were used to. If you will suddenly withdraw, your body will miss what you frequently do and eventually, you'll give in to gambling again. Withdrawal to gambling is a process. It's better to be slow and steady, rather than quick and inconsistent. Of course, nothing beats treating addiction with the help of professionals so you will be on the right track.
422  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Reasons you should not gamble on too many things at once. on: September 27, 2023, 02:21:43 PM
I very much agree with everything you listed especially with the reason that the chances of winning will be very slim if you will place a bet on multiple games since the probability varies based on each game you decide to play or make a bet on, not the entirety of your bets combined. In result, you might also lose a lot of money in the process of attempting to make many wins and hit the winning prize.

One must analyze and calculate the percentage of winnings and from there, decide whether it's a smart choice to do multiple betting or just one to test out your luck. Proper calculation is necessary. If you want to profit while having fun, one of the key factors is to do not be impulsive and stupid.
423  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The madness of gambling addicts. on: September 27, 2023, 01:37:39 PM
I agree with your opinion, that a gambler will not become an addict if he is aware of all the risks when playing, if he plays too much, puts money in the hope of winning, of course that is impossible, on the contrary he will lose. all the money will be lost. And that will cause problems in his family and the problem in him is that he will regret having done that without thinking about other people.

In the case of gambling addicts they are harmful not only to the family but also to the society. At the beginning greed works in them to get more and when the rush reaches the point of desperation when everything is lost, taking a break from gambling will seem like the last thing you want, but it is necessary. Leaving gamblers after losing their large amount of money will give you the space and time to evaluate why it happened and how to prevent it from happening again. But a responsible gambler does not get greedy after earning a profit, they know the right rules of gambling so they are less likely to suffer.

Gambling addiction can really ruin a life and relationship. It can destroy you in every way possible and it can cause negative effect to the people close to you such as your family and to your friends. Addiction can bring trouble to you in terms of financial and even be a burden to your close ones because they might be the collateral damage for your irresponsibility. Greediness can bury you to pile of debts and loans. It will just bring you so much liabilities that might be too heavy to handle which could cost you a lot more later on. Self-reflection is much needed so that you won't be dependent to gambling.
424  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: A weird belief among some gamblers. on: September 27, 2023, 12:59:19 PM
In a maths view perhaps with a lottery it could make sense to collect numbers.   On the basis knowing which number combinations remain unused will increase the payout.   Like anything if your reward goes up for the same money risked, this is a better rate of return a superior yield.   Anytime you can do a bit of maths, deploy some statistics and probability to earn a few extra bucks its worth doing.
Ideally a computer would manage all this, just going person to person is not feasible by itself but maths 'genius' have deployed such ideas in the past to a profit, unbelievable but true Smiley

Math can really be a great edge when it comes to playing and betting. It could be useful when you are analyzing the outcomes of a game and making a prediction. You can take advantage of your knowledge for your benefit. Although this will likely workout if you will do it for games that relies on calculation and data rather than being more on luck-based. Statistics and probability come hand-in-hand so math will really be your friend. Discipline will be your friend once you utilize your skills, talent, and knowledge so you won't fall into addiction.
425  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Credit card gambling fuels gambling addiction on: September 27, 2023, 09:32:44 AM
I'm not really much in favor of using credit card as payment method for gambling. Sure, it provides convenience and ease of use for the gamblers, but it also paves way to irresponsible gambling habits build via repeated routine. It will just really keep you on the lowest of lows. To begin with, if you don't have enough money to fund your vices, then you shouldn't really be gambling at all. Because you should only spend what you can afford to lose. And losing something you don't even possess is plain stupidity and a headache to happen. Hence, I'm not really surprised that some countries prohibits the usage of credit cards for gambling. There are still other cards that can be used such as debit card that can still provide accessibility.
426  Economy / Economics / Re: The Kids buying Mcdonald order via BTC on: September 26, 2023, 02:17:38 PM
Looks fake to me.

I've looked up to it and nothing appeared about a kid who's buying in McDonald's using Bitcoin. I didn't even hear the news about McDonald's accepting bitcoin as a payment. Even if it this is true, it looks like that his parent's are just trying to use him to make it funny like the guy who pays a lot of Bitcoin for just a slice of pizza.
427  Economy / Economics / Re: How do you deal with financial stress? on: September 26, 2023, 10:44:54 AM

Maybe I'm stressing out too much because I'm yet to find proper housing to establish myself again after being away for over a year in the military. I'm generally an anxious person myself, but does anyone else feel the same, and how do you deal with it? How do you stay optimistic?

I'm always adjusting myself to everything, I learned to appreciate the things that's in front of me, instead of looking for an apartment of your choice, why not just look for what is available. Sometimes we stress ourselves in purpose without us noticing, there's a lot of solution in a certain problem but we always force that only one solution or choice in our mind that's why we ended up stressing too much.

For me, I'd rather have something than to have nothing at all, what I mean is, I'd rather take the small apartment rather than stressing myself out looking for a good one. I'd rather be in a peace of mind by choosing a very simple choice rather than stressing out myself because of choices that is not even available as of the moment.
428  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Reckless gambling starts after a win round. on: September 26, 2023, 06:06:43 AM

You will be more eager to continue and for sure as long as you have money to use you will keep trying your luck hoping that on your next try you will win, it's something that inside you which will keep increasing your appetite, the more you engage yourself the more chance that you will going to get addicted.

You need to set yourself in terms of choosing your plan, doing it for the sake of fun and not to let that emotion to bring you to engage too much will save you in any possibility of getting addicted.

I guess this will heavily rely on someone's discipline. If someone is responsible enough for every actions that he will make, then frequent urge to bet and play beyond his boundaries will less likely to happen. Unlike to those people who don't possess such discipline, there's a high possibility that it will turn out to be a disaster later on.

Organizing your gameplay and setting up boundaries for you to follow is essential so that you won't fall addicted in gambling. Proper mindset is crucial so that you won't get lost even after several winnings or even after winning the jackpot prize.
429  Economy / Economics / Re: The impact of war on global economy. on: September 26, 2023, 04:48:23 AM
In short, there's no one getting any benefits after the war except for those people that sell firearms, weapons, and those wealthy people that likes to hide in the shadow. While the majority of people always suffer due to the damages because of wars that leads to poverty, malnutrition, different kind of diseases, and so many more.

I don't really know what's the motive of war, I mean what are you gonna do with so much money profiting from a war if the world you're living in was destroyed already and full of toxic chemicals from nuclear bombs.
430  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gender in Gambling [differences between Women and Men in Gambling] on: September 25, 2023, 10:13:14 AM
In fact, male gender and female gender are no different, they both want to gambling for entertainment, but there are not many (among women) women who gambler are usually seen as bad by the environment around them, not only women but also men according to society. If men gambler, they usually understand that. but in my opinion that is unfair because women also have the right to do what they want as long as it is not detrimental to the surrounding community. But usually women are better able to think and worry about the risks they will face if they gamble, so they do it secretly and without anyone knowing so that they are not seen as bad by the surrounding community.
Both men and women, regardless of societal lens, have recreational pursuits. It's human nature. Gambling, as an entertainment form, shouldn't be the yardstick to measure someone's moral compass, especially when seen through a gendered lens. Men, women - it doesn’t matter; everyone deserves autonomy in their choices. But here's a thing to note: Gambling, while a form of entertainment, can have serious consequences if not approached responsibly. Research & studies show the negative impacts of unchecked gambling on mental health, finances, and social relationships. It's not about who does it - man or woman. It's about how it's done. Responsibly, within limits. I'd urge everyone to educate themselves, understand the stakes, and act wisely. After all, informed choices pave the path to balanced living. Wouldn't you agree?

Gambling knows no gender. It doesn't matter whether if you are a man or woman, or if you have different gender orientation. If you want to gamble, do so. Just remember to do it responsibly and moderately. Discipline will play a big role in someone's gambling journey. Having a positive effect or a negative one will manifest depending on how you play and if you abide with the boundaries that you have set for yourself. If you won't be a calculated gambler, and rather be an impulsive one, regardless of whatever gender you have in the spectrum, the chances of losing will be high. This is because betting and playing with analyzation is still much better to be combined with skills you possess and luck altogether for higher probability of winning.

Additionally, if you will be a risky one that will just play based on what your guts tells you and if you will be controlled with your gambling urges, the chances of you being addicted and dependent with it will be high too.
431  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Mistake that prevented your big win. on: September 23, 2023, 12:51:02 PM

That is quite true. Luck is the biggest obstacle that prevents us from winning big.
Patience is the second obstacle but that is in our hands and if have enough patience may be we can avoid this obstacle from winning big.
But only time can tell whether our patience becomes a root cause for us winning big or losing more eventually.

Agree with this.

Most commonly, luck plays a big part in gambling whether it is bet or play. Luck based games heavily relies on luck and probability. Meanwhile, skill-based games still needs luck with combination of talent and skills when you do it. The odds have a major contribution to the outcome of any game whatever the game is. Although of course, you still need to have other characteristics to be able to win more frequently such as the determination, patience, skills, and strategy. If you will only rely on luck without doing your part, the chances of winning will still remain low.
432  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can Gambling affect your relationship? on: September 23, 2023, 12:13:31 PM

What affects our relationship is not gambling, but the addiction in it, ..

If addiction has a negative effect, then the impact on our relationship is also negative. But let's look at it from another perspective. Why do we always assume that when a person is addicted to gambling, they are losing more money than they can afford to lose? What if it's the other way around? What if a person is addicted because they are winning and have achieved financial freedom through gambling?

Isn't it considered an addiction as well when you keep gambling because you are winning?

Indeed, it's just a proportional effect when you have an addiction. It will also influence your connection with your loved ones the same way.

Regarding addiction having a positive effect such as attaining wealth in the process, for me, yes it's still considered as an addiction, but in a healthy way. Although I wouldn't really call it as an addiction, rather a passion because they do it with ease and it has a good outcome for them. This is because they know how to control their betting and plays, not going overboard to becoming bankrupt just for the sake of chasing winnings, rather making an effort to earn more profit without sacrificing their current earnings. They are strategic and smart like that.
433  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Possible measures to stop online gambling addiction. on: September 23, 2023, 11:20:56 AM

Or just make yourself busy so that you won't think of playing online. Sometimes I just phone my phone on the other room, not beside me so that I won't think of depositing and playing. Although I have my laptop to play, I prefer my games though using my phone.

No sure why is this so, but I guess because I can even play when I was lying down in my bed and obviously I can't do that with my laptop. So just to minimized my online gambling, I put my phone away from me. I don't bother someone calling me and not answering it. I can just check it back someone from the other room like my kids calling me if they see that my phone is ringing.

It's a good thing that this works for you and I'm really happy it does. But it will really depends on the severity of gambling dependency and addiction a person have. If a person is still on the initial stage or on the developing stage of addiction, this can possibly work since the urge to play and bet isn't that strong compared when you are already dependent on it because of cycled routine. It will be much challenging to be a busy person and to place your device to another room or give it to another person to keep it for you, without you having the sense of wanting to get it back ASAP. The most effective one should be professional intervention and medical treatment if the gambling addiction is developed and is on the later stage.
434  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How much Bitcoin is needed to buy iPhone 15? on: September 22, 2023, 03:10:10 PM
That illustration is all about why you don't want to spend your Bitcoin on things that could be bought fiat, to show that the things you wanted in life only depreciate, that investment is more important than being a social climber even when you can't afford but always choose to buy expensive things to show off. It also shows that fiat is very prone to inflation while Bitcoin is not.
435  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: KYC matter? on: September 22, 2023, 02:09:28 PM
What are the repercussions of failing to complete KYC on an exchange?
If you have yet deposited any cryptocurrency to your account on that exchange, nothing is serious because you won't lose any cryptocurrency there.

If you already deposited cryptocurrency into your account, you will lose your cryptocurrency if they reject or you fail to complete KYC with more attempts later.

One more risk, after you submit your documents for KYC, you lose those documents to that exchange or any third-party entity that is responsible for KYC verification.

I agree.

that's why it is important to think first before depositing on a certain trading platform that requires KYC, since you'll be force to submit your KYC to continue using that platform and to save your funds. There are exchanges that doesn't require KYC so you don't have to submit any personal information, but make sure they are reputable enough for you to trust them when it comes to your funds.
436  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: HOW DO YOU MAKE MONEY WITH LESS MONEY? on: September 22, 2023, 12:49:49 PM
I think what you've said are all about how to risk you money hoping to make profits without any decent plan.

Making money with small capital is very hard, especially if you don't have any discipline when it comes to money. You have to force yourself not to spend your profits in anything that is not belong in what you need. A lot of patient is also needed because you have to endure everything to make your profits grow in the long run. Many challenges will also face you but the most important thing is to never give up.
437  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Trading bots... do they work? on: September 22, 2023, 10:35:38 AM
I don't really recommend trading bot if you want to make profits most of the time unless you're the one who made the bot and configured it yourself, that way, you could assure yourself that it is trustworthy since you could test it out many times as you want to perfect it.
Trading bot also cost a lot and most of the time it doesn't work, so you're just gonna waste your money on that for sure, lucky if you found one that's legit and gives you profits most of the time.
438  Economy / Economics / Re: Free Investment tips on: September 21, 2023, 01:27:58 PM
Time is the only free from the things you mentioned.

Education, health, network, skills, and financial literacy ain't free. You have to spend something to maintain and gain something from these. We can't help but to spend to something we want to invest, that's why it is called investment, it will always come with a price because it is gonna give us reward that could help us in the long run depending on how we're going to use it.
439  Economy / Economics / Re: Building wealth it's not just one time Luck on: September 21, 2023, 11:32:23 AM
Building wealth doesn't have any fixed amount of capital for you to figure out you could survive in the long term. I've witnessed too many events where people started their business here in our country only using $1 and they made a lot of money in the long term because of discipline, and right money management.

No matter how big your capital is, there's no way you could assure yourself that you're going to have a pretty decent wealth in the long run, it would entirely depends on how good you are. I don't believe in luck, because we make anything impossible to possible through hardworks.
440  Economy / Economics / Re: Early Retirement [Pros and Cons] on: September 21, 2023, 07:52:57 AM
I don't think retirement is an option anymore since living your life doing nothing but continuing spending is boring for me.

I think the retirement age depends on your personal choice as a provider, because health is very much important more than anything else, and you would have plenty of time to spend with your family. It's not that bad I think to retire at an early age as long as you have more than enough to spend in your entire life. But a retirement doesn't mean you're going to do nothing at all, you could explore the world with your family while your business for example or investments generates money for you without doing anything at all.
