481  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: BTC is effecting Market? on: December 07, 2023, 01:11:54 PM
Altcoins by & large always follow what Bitcoin is doing. When Bitcoin experiences a Black Swan event or is in a bear market then altcoins follow. When Bitcoin is in a bull market & pumping hard, altcoins go up. Some newbies think they have missed Bitcoin so they try to find cheaper alternatives. Let’s not forget that without Bitcoin there would be no altcoins.

483  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What percentage of people claimed BTC Forks? on: December 07, 2023, 12:49:18 PM
I claimed Bitcoin Cash, Bitcoin Gold, I can’t remember the others but there were about another 3 or 4 I claimed.
I had to use Electron Cash for the Bitcoin Cash & I had to buy an Android phone (I am an iPhone guy) to download some app that allowed me to claim the less well known ones. As I had already claimed those shit forks I didn’t get BSV. I don’t know about claiming if you used an exchange to store your Bitcoin originally because I’ve always been a self custody guy.
484  Economy / Economics / Re: Energy crisis? What energy crisis? Oil dips to 3 months low despite OPEC cuts! on: December 07, 2023, 12:28:19 PM
Very detailed & thorough post, stompix. I can’t disagree with much of it. In Europe we are still paying a lot more for gas & electricity to supply our homes though. Fuel is still more per litre than before the pandemic. Energy gargantuans like Shell & BP are probably just taking advantage of supposed energy shortages & price rises due to situations like the Ukraine war etc. Many countries pay a lot less than what we do in my country so in some ways it shows the consumer is being exploited.
485  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Which currency will able to replace the $$? If 3rd world war will happen! on: December 07, 2023, 10:16:27 AM
The answer to this question should be Bitcoin but the actual answer is that nothing will change with regards to the World Reserve Currency for now even if there was an official WW3. It will still be the USD & they will print it into oblivion before another fiat currency takes over the USD.
486  Economy / Economics / Re: Do brands that take sides on divisive issues lose market share? on: December 06, 2023, 01:12:56 PM
Brands that take sides on divisive issues DO lose market share. Remember the Dylan Mulvaney Bud Light saga?
Trans male advertised for huge beer company, the people hated it & their sales nosedived.

487  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Finally Bitcoin Devolpers planning to kill Ordinals and Inscription on: December 06, 2023, 01:01:39 PM
Good, it’s a nonsense spam attack on the network. Go & fork off, do it on their own blockchain. We don’t need that nonsense in the serious commodity sector. People will say it’s censorship but ordinals are a waste of time & they negatively affect people who are trying to better their lives by using an alternative to traditional finance.
488  Economy / Economics / Re: Inventing a job is better than finding a job on: December 06, 2023, 11:50:31 AM
In the current financial climate it’s better to find a job rather than creating one. This is because the economic uncertainty & market volatility make it challenging for new businesses to thrive. Finding a job provides more stability & a steady income which is crucial during uncertain times. Entrepreneurship can still be pursued if you have a unique & viable business idea, sufficient financial resources & a thorough understanding of the market conditions. The decision depends on your individual circumstances & risk tolerance.
489  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Best Site For Updated Cryptocurrency Prices Without Refreshing Browser? on: December 06, 2023, 11:15:27 AM
Coinmarketcap seems to be the main one it seems?

I am an advocate for Coinmarketcap, I use it a lot. I must check prices about 100 times a day & that is no exaggeration. You can use it on a desktop PC obviously but it has a really clean app that you can use with your mobile phone. It’s great when you’re on the move. Obviously you can create a watchlist & favourite certain coins. I think it’s the best one by far.
490  Economy / Economics / Re: Gold is up to new ATH, silver is up, BITCOIN IS BACK BABY!!! on: December 06, 2023, 10:47:13 AM
Good to see you happy OP. It was a long, cold crypto winter. Bitcoin was always going to do this again at some stage though, it’s what the King does. The halving is near & we have ETF approvals near hopefully. There will still be dips but stay calm, the next 18-24 months should be very good for us.
491  Other / Politics & Society / Re: French man attacks and kills tourist in Paris on: December 05, 2023, 02:07:19 PM
RIP to the deceased, attacks like this are in the name of no God. They are carried out by mentally ill cowards. No God would want innocent people to die. Terrorist attacks are still happening regularly, I wish there was something that could he done to stop it but I fear it will always happen.
492  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: Is Samsung blockchain wallet safe? on: December 05, 2023, 02:00:00 PM
I don’t know much about Samsung Wallet but what I can tell you is no third party wallet that has access to the internet is safe. I doubt it is a cold storage wallet, if it isn’t then no it’s not safe to use. Buy a Ledger or a Trezor from their official online stores. So many people get scammed using wallets that do not have high enough security.
493  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Litecoin is the sleeping giant on: December 05, 2023, 01:49:58 PM
I dunno if it has any long term future but it could rally in the upcoming bull market sure. It’s far from a certainty so why take the risk buying? If you’re not already invested then as a new investor, I wouldn’t start buying it. Just buy Bitcoin & Ethereum, you will still make very handsome profits.
494  Other / Off-topic / Re: All my social media friends don't want to reply me lately, dafuq is going on rn? on: December 05, 2023, 01:19:35 PM
If people don’t have time to reply to you then they are not worth bothering with. People who love & care for you will always find time to respond to your messages. If you feel like you’re getting ghosted then it might be time to assess your friendship circle & make some changes if required.
495  Economy / Economics / Re: How to be more effective working remotely. on: December 05, 2023, 12:17:28 PM
To be more effective working remotely set up an dedicated workspace that is free from distractions. Create a daily routine to maintain structure & set clear boundaries between work & personal life. Utilise technology tools like project management software & video conferencing platforms to stay connected with colleagues. Prioritise communication by regularly checking in with team members & providing frequent updates. Ensure a healthy work life balance by taking regular breaks, staying active & avoiding overworking. Try to keep yourself motivated & focused by setting goals, creating to do lists & celebrating achievements.
496  Economy / Economics / Re: Is there a correlation between liquidity and volatility? on: December 03, 2023, 11:32:23 AM
There is generally a correlation between liquidity and volatility in financial markets. When liquidity is high, meaning there are many buyers and sellers, it tends to dampen volatility as it’s easier to execute trades without significantly impacting prices. Low liquidity often leads to higher volatility as even small trades can have a larger impact on prices. Other things can also influence volatility like market sentiment, economic events & geopolitical factors.
497  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin at its ATH of 2023 so far on: December 01, 2023, 12:15:48 PM
It’s great to see, we were at $16,000 for quite a few months if I remember correctly, only last year. Bitcoin continues to show how strong & what a great asset it is cycle after cycle. At this point I think you’re generally a moron if you don’t own any Bitcoin. Let’s see how 2024 goes, I predict it’s going to be a very bullish year.
498  Other / Meta / Re: Mixers to be banned on: December 01, 2023, 12:03:45 PM
Regulatory pressure from governments is ramping up worldwide. The US especially seems motivated to crush exchanges & I think they would take an even stronger attitude towards mixers. It’s sad because mixing is not illegal but I understand why theymos has taken this action. He can not & should not need to risk the very existence of this forum, just to allow mixers to advertise here. Nobody wants cease & desist notifications from law enforcement so theymos, I salute you.
499  Economy / Economics / Re: The power of investment choices on: December 01, 2023, 11:58:08 AM
If you ask me I will say only buy Bitcoin but I see why latecomers are attracted elsewhere, there are other cryptocurrencies with unique features & potential for large growth. Diversification is key for some people, It is advisable to research & understand the potential of different cryptocurrencies considering factors such as technology, adoption & market trends. Each cryptocurrency offers different opportunities & risks so a balanced investment strategy that includes a mix of cryptocurrencies may be more beneficial for some in the long run.
500  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin can save the USA and dollar on: December 01, 2023, 11:48:55 AM
The US could definitely buy a lot of Bitcoin to hedge against loss of purchasing power (which has been done because of their reckless spending, money printing & fiscal policies). Will they do it though, I am sceptical. The last I saw, the US was selling large amounts of Bitcoin that they had stolen confiscated from Silk Road & other illegal schemes.
