481  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is worth more than Silver on: March 12, 2024, 01:30:27 AM
But it was already worth that more than silver back then right? In it's previous all time high but definitely it's a good thing that it's more valuable than any precious metals out there, it's a really good thing that this kind of thing happens though, gives the investors confidence that bitcoin is going to be going big even more and I think that gold is going to be the next one that's needed to surpass. If you're reading this and you're still doubting that bitcoin will go anywhere, you're probably going to get left behind again and again and it's going to be a vicious cycle for you.

Objectively speaking, silver has way more utility than Bitcoin as it is used in many industries and if not for silver, a lot of things would be more expensive today. Meanwhile if all coins vanished tomorrow, the world wouldn't even notice and wouldn't feel any inconvenience. So this is just another reminder that marketcap if not a good representation of usefulness and value for society.
Well, yes that's true but the point is that people are valuing bitcoin even more than others, I think that utility alone is the reason that someone should be valued even more, I mean we don't really need the war machines of Lockheed Martin but they're more expensive stock than others that have an arguably more civilian use than their products right? So it's not utility I think, more like growth and the confidence of the investors to the product I think.
482  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Demonization of politics in our society. on: March 10, 2024, 09:22:54 AM
That's because people can never be civil and some of us if not worship a lot of these politicians, I think that's the reason why politics isn't talked much about in our society or that it's frowned upon. For me though, I think that it's high time that we remove that taboo and start doing different things because if the people can have a civilized discussion in politics, we would probably see some improvements in who's the person that will elect in that position, if we're not worshiping these lying politicians, I can guarantee you that we would see a lot of these third world countries become prosperous and overall make it better for every person around the world because each country are interacting with each other and with a really good country that will have a really diplomats, it's a domino effect and it's the solution that's under our noses but it's a really radical solution because the things that we're used to will be changed and the change is going to be painful and treacherous.
483  Local / Altcoins (Pilipinas) / Re: Ethereum next target of institutional investors? on: March 10, 2024, 08:30:11 AM
484  Local / Altcoins (Pilipinas) / Re: Airdrop Hunting on: March 10, 2024, 06:59:05 AM
~

485  Local / Altcoins (Pilipinas) / Re: Solana Mobile on: March 10, 2024, 06:03:28 AM

487  Local / Pilipinas / Re: Philippines SEC will Ban Binance. Effectivity End of Feb. 2024 on: March 10, 2024, 04:32:50 AM
~

488  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Investing into Bitcoin as self pension on: March 10, 2024, 03:39:18 AM
It's a great idea to have that plan with your investments. Having that kind of idea of what you can get from the markets is ideal. Spreading investments in different coins could be a great thing as well but having Bitcoin, as the main component of your portfolio, would be ideal. That's just my opinion. Of course, since we are here in the forum, it's a good thing that you are in the Bitcoin forum and know that it's a great investment and could give great returns in the long run.
I wouldn't recommend spreading your investments in different coins as it's not a good idea, better to stick with bitcoin for hodling purposes, any speculation money should be a different budget and it's much better that way because that would mean that you're not going to mess with your money that's supposed to be for your pension that's in bitcoin form. In terms of investment diversification, I think it's a great idea to consider bitcoin but as @Mia Chloe said, "Don't put your eggs in one basket" especially with pension, you don't want to end up seeing teeter totter in price right? That's going to make you panic so bad.
489  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Buying/Selling & Using Bitcoin in El Salvador. on: March 10, 2024, 03:00:28 AM
That question can only answered by the people of El Salvador, that's the only valid answer to this question anyway. Other people that's living outside the country like me isn't going to be able to answer that, maybe those that have visited the country might be able to tell you but others would either lie or speculate about the situation, it's going to be difficult to do so OP since there's not a lot of members here that are willing to reveal that they're from El Salvador or maybe there's no people in this forum that's from El Salvador, it's a small country after all.
490  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why not try out a less popular but promising token? on: March 10, 2024, 02:25:21 AM
That's not the only reason that a lot of us are afraid of new and "promising" tokens, remember that most of them if not all aren't really promising and they're just like that because someone said so about that token and because those people are early adopters that will stand to gain the most when that token is shilled to a lot of people. Another thing that would make it difficult for someone to invest in those tokens is that there's a lot of them in the market everyday and you don't know which one's you're going to put your money into and it's probably going to take you a long time to make a profit in any of them because they're most likely the kind that would take their time in growing and it's really difficult for some of them to get in if you want an airdrop, they make you jump through hoops to garner engagement from the people and at the same time you're actively evading scams and phishing links that latch on to this airdrops.
491  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Are you interested in investing in DEX's tokens in 2024-2025 uptrend? on: March 10, 2024, 01:49:07 AM
I've got no luck there and probably I was not for it. Even if I've invested during the bear market, I don't see significant gains over the period of time with this. Maybe seasonal but I won't invest for now to any of these DEX tokens. I know that it's still best to get in too early but it's also the riskiest point when you don't know the future of these dexes where there have been a bunch of them. But those that have found something good and they leaned on their decisions and have something to back with their decisions for buying it, good luck to all of you. That's the fruit of your DYOR but for me, even if I did it, it didn't resulted to fruitful results and that's why I am stopping investing into these DEX tokens.
Same, but if I'm with my friend and he talks to me about some tokens that are worth investing into, I almost always go for it because of all that he's told me, I've invested in it and so far, I've got about 5 or 6 of those tokens or NFTs or NFT games that have gained me a considerable profit but you're right even if you do invest in bear market, you can't guarantee that you're going to make a profit, I guess you're right though, DYOR is the best thing for investing in DEX tokens or for any crypto related investments, you don't want your money stuck in a limbo hoping that the token or crypto investment that you've put your money into would grow in profit, some of them just don't do it like that so it's imperative that you do the research or you risk your money for nothing. Seems that the trend for DEX tokens are a thing now, there's some talks in my circle about them but I haven't checked any of them yet.
492  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 1 year of accepting crypto payment in my fashion store on: March 09, 2024, 11:48:09 PM
I think you should convert it to fiat immediately because when you go to restock, you will have to pay in your local currency. If you decide to leave the money as Bitcoin then in volatile times like this, you can think of it as an investment. Hopefully Bitcoin will be accepted by many people and its volatility and transaction fees reduce as well so people can actually hold their money in BTC without worrying if their gain has been tampered.
Exactly, I think that bitcoin isn't as good as a way to be part of your revenue because of it's volatility so it's not a good thing to save that bitcoin especially when you're running a business and from what I've heard, it's really hard to run one because you're going to think up of all the costs that you're business will have to sustain, there's upkeep cost, restocking, salary for the workers and upgrading the business and I don't think that bitcoin is up for that business sustain. I'm just talking about what I think works but it seems that you're doing just fine though so I guess you can keep doing that but do be careful as bitcoin's more suited as a means of investment rather than a currency.
493  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Quick profit is the only reason why we invest in Altcoins on: March 09, 2024, 09:33:49 AM
Totally agree, I've got the same reason for investing in altcoins but rather than quick profit, I invest in altcoins because I hope that when I make a profit out of it, I can put in more money into my bitcoin investment which I've been doing all these years, a little investing on an altcoin and hope that a profit will come my way and when it does, I always try to put as much of the profit into bitcoin while satisfying my profit taking urges and buying stuff that I don't need. That's the thing with NFTs too, you don't want to be caught holding one in your possession, you've got to sell it as quickly as possible because they've got no utility besides being just a JPEG that anyone can just copy paste, there are outliers that would be giving you a profit though if you hodl long enough but are you really risking the wait when there's a small profit that's ready to be taken right then and there?
494  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Selling shib to buy other alt coin? on: March 09, 2024, 09:00:44 AM
You can either risk hodling even further with Shib but I don't see any other altcoin that's worth your money to invest into right now, I'd say just take the profit and be on your merry way, that's the only solution in my opinion that would be good for you, are you sure that you want to invest that profit money into other altcoins that aren't going to guarantee you any profit because they're as risky as they can be, it's probably a good idea if you do some more thinking about what you're going to do with that money, I think Shib's got a really good investor base so it's safe for you to just hodl there but I wouldn't risk it when there's an obvious opportunity to grab the profit right? Maybe put it in ETH or Solana.
495  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: I just woke up and saw wins in my gambling app on: March 09, 2024, 08:15:33 AM
It's always a pleasant surprise to wake up to a win, especially when you least expect it. I have never had a experience like this one. No everyone has the same luck as yours, so congrats mate! This reminds me that gambling is very unpredictable. While it's exciting to win, it's also important to remember that gambling should be seen as entertainment than a source of income or a job. If you experience a win, consider setting aside a portion of it. Always gamble responsibly!
Totally agree, I guess sometimes someone gets the lucky wins and it just so happens that it's OP, sometimes you really have to take a chance in gambling and you'd be rewarded but remember though that this isn't the case all the time because this event that happened to OP is a freak of nature as I like to call it, it's not always going to happen even though the possibility and probability that this can happen again is there for everyone of us, it's still too low for it to happen constantly to different people so don't be too reliant on this happening to you, maybe even in luck because that's not going to lead you anywhere, rely on what you can control like your skills.
496  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: A call to self-examining our gambling habit. on: March 09, 2024, 07:13:59 AM
Very early on I kept a closer eye on it and even went so far as to use self-exclusion tools for 12 or 24 hours to make sure I didn't gamble too much and thus also forced myself to check my game during those hours when I couldn't play. But from a few years now it's just routine, it's like a part-time job that gives me a little extra money, and every year that goes by I play a little less. So, no problems in that sense.
That's an admirable thing, to be doing some sort of restriction to the things that you're doing is really something worth admiring or even being a model, I know myself and I can definitely never do this, one time is going to be enough for me and I won't be doing this kind of thing again, I guess the up side is that I know myself enough that I know I'm not going to be able to do what you're doing. For me, self-examination is an important thing but I find it a trivial thing to do when you're doing it for gambling so I really don't recommend doing it for the sake of gambling, there's probably something out there that's more worthy of aspects in life that you could do that self-examination.
497  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC created new ATH before Halving: are you surprised? on: March 09, 2024, 06:14:26 AM
Honestly, I'm surprised, there's no other explanation to what happened when I saw it, I expected bitcoin to take it's time before breaking the previous all time high but it didn't and it's a really awesome thing that bitcoin defied my lowly expectations that it's going to go down again but it is what it is and it seems that I'm almost at the point that I'm going to be seeing the profits of my investments. Maybe it's time for me to accumulate even more because there's no other way besides the fact that I would either be missing out or I'm going to spend more if I don't increase what I'm currently buying with my bitcoin right now with my DCA. I'm feeling a little crazy about the price pump right now and I like to increase my selling price goal because there doesn't seem to be a lot of indicators of the prices going up to be stopping soon, we might even touch 100k USD possibly in the next month.
498  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC power on: March 09, 2024, 05:02:22 AM
The problem is that when you only do one of that, you're not going to see yourself getting any kind of success because one's supposed to work with the other, what I mean is that while you're waiting for your investments to grow, it's a good idea to distract yourself from the waiting game by getting yourself busy with work, that way you've got your mind preoccupied with other stuff besides that investment, see in my explanation that if you don't have the other, you'll never be able to find some more money for yourself because you've fallen for the trap of choosing just one, it's really easy to choose both because the other investment doesn't need that much maintenance besides the occasional buys for accumulation and just selling when the price you like to sell your investments is finally there.
499  Economy / Speculation / Re: Dont sell because you feel like selling, give it another thought. on: March 09, 2024, 03:08:12 AM
Yes, I will say it again and again! Don't sell because you want to sell, or maybe others are selling, and if you feel you have made some profit, then you must sell. My dear, give it a second thought. If you don't have a genuine reason for selling, like a deep need for money, or if you want to sell to buy luxurious things when you know that the price of bitcoin has more potential than what it has shown,.
I can understand what you're saying and I somehow get your advice of not selling immediately or for a small profit but I have to disagree with you on the part about selling because they need the money, if the word is need then there's probably a good reason why they're planning on selling, you can't really dictate anyone what they want to do with their money after all. Regards to luxurious things, that could depend, remember that you've got a right to be happy as a person and that you don't have to worry too much about investments so if you're not going bankrupt with that luxurious stuff then go for it. Don't be a slave to your money and investments, you don't have to wait for retirement to do stuff and enjoy life, you should do it along the way and it's more fun that way.
500  Economy / Speculation / Re: Buy Buy Buy or Sell Sell Sell? on: March 09, 2024, 01:40:00 AM
What's your take on this? Given the period we're in is it buy time or sell time?
My take on this kind of situation is that, they've got no goals and so they end up not having any plans and they just sell whenever they want to which is bad because that's the likely thing to happen to someone when they don't have any goal, they wander around aimlessly. Best solution is depending on what you're invested into, you should set a goal where you will sell your cryptocurrency, if it's an altcoin, don't be too ambitious and aim for a really high price increase, set a percentage or a concrete number like if you bought altcoin A at 0.1 USD apiece, you should consider a 50% growth as your limit so you sell that altcoin or you could do a number like if altcoin A becomes 0.2 USD apiece then you'd sell but you have to make sure that your goal would be feasible, depending on your research and sentiments on that cryptocurrency you're investing into, that would dictate how much you would hold on to that cryptocurrency.

Now with bitcoin it's a different story because bitcoin is definitely an appreciating asset and a blue chip cryptocurrency meaning that if you're patient enough, you're guaranteed to have a profit, if you're invested in bitcoin, you'd get away with setting an ambitious price goal, make it 200k USD hell maybe even 500k USD, there's no limit, just make sure that in all of this, you afford only what you can afford to lose even if you're doing DCA.
