What a turn of events. DOTA 2's ESL Kuala Lumpur had the same scenario with Mobile Legends' M5 World Championships and they're also on the same dates. The champions got zeroed in the upper bracket finals but then won the lower bracket finals and went on to win the tournament. The only difference is the ML world champions were able to seal the last and final map after 2 successive comebacks from their opponents, something GG failed to do.

Lost my bet on GG but my ML bet was successful making it still a profitable day. I am starting to play Mobile Legends again since I can no longer afford the longer playing time of DOTA 2. Grin

If Tony Ferguson would not allow his resignation I think Dana White should arrange some farewell fight for a legend like Ferguson, as surely Tony Ferguson saved a lot of events in the UFC and it was thanks to him if he doesn't accept those short notice fights back then for the UFC, so I think UFC is really grateful for a Tony Ferguson but the Situation is something different and for sure a Tony Ferguson just needed some explaining and convincing first and if that doesn't ring something on Ferguson then I think the UFC needs to drop the bombs on him that the UFC is not needing him anymore, or offering him a large amount for good,

Dana can only arrange a farewell fight only if Tony agrees to retire. Otherwise it would be just another fight. No one can force Tony to retire other than himself though and I don't think he's ready to do that.
If he decides to carry on fighting, UFC has two options: release him from his contract and let him go to a different organisation, or just make him fight lower-ranked fighters for much less money. The first option should be much more profitable for Tony, as he could still capitalise on his fame, despite all the losses.

According to Nyfights.com, Tony Ferguson was paid $500k against Pimblett. I find this hard to believe though knowing he remained winless for years now. But if this is true then most likely it's the reason why Tony is not retiring until his contract expires.

Dana though mentioned he loves to see Tony retiring. And it will be done unless Tony's contract is still not finished and the base pay might be too good to give up. If ever Tony is fighting again, I would like to see him against someone outside the rankings, someone winnable so he might consider retiring after a win. But in the financial aspect, if the base pay is too high and Tony won't agree to a lower rate it is hard to give him an easy opponent. But at least Dana is clear about not wanting to see Tony fight again.

On DAZN, an IBF-WBO unification duel between both undefeated champions Bam Rodriguez and Sunny Edwards. The main undercard will be a WBA eliminator where former unified champion Morudjon Akhmadaliev tries to win for a chance to become the mandatory of the Inoue-Tapales undisputed fight later this month.

I'll be interested as well to see Akhmadaliev in the ring again after that upset win by Tapales. He said in this interview that he is coming to get his belt back and his fight with Kevin Gonzalez is for the WBA title eliminator.

Seems though that he has mentally recovered from his lost and so this is going to be a good fight.

Although the criticism about him is that he should be changing coach after that lost to Tapales.

But let's see, I do hope that he is still has the fire inside of him to claim that belt back and then fight the Monster next.

I still haven't watched the full fight between Tapales and Akhmadaliev but I did hear a lot from proven fans that it was very close. So I guess it's fine if Akhmadaliev just retains his coach. So far during interviews it looks like he still feels that he won that fight and wanted nothing but revenge so he should be mentally alright. And yesterday he dispatched his undefeated opponent. So he is now officially the WBA mandatory to the Inoue-Tapales winner. Although he might need to wait since the IBF also has its mandatory, the undefeated Sam Goodman.

On Showtime, an explosive battle between two heavy-handed contenders. David Morrell defends his minor belt against Sena Agbeko. Morrell was supposed to be the one fighting David Benavidez until the latter backed out preferring an easier opponent. Hopefully, the winner should be declared mandatory to Canelo's WBA belt. The main undercard is a WBA eliminator to determine the mandatory for the WBA champion through e-mail, Tank Davis. Cheesy

Demetrius Andrade was a champion in multiple weight classes and undefeated in 32 fights. He might not have had the best opponents but he's still more proven than Morrell. To me it seems like a no-brainer to choose the more recognizable and experienced Andrade over Morrell. If Benavidez-Andrade only got 60k buys, Benavidez against Morrell would have done even worse. Sena Agbeko is a mediocre club fighter, not really the kind of competition which merits an opportunity against Canelo. The same is true for the Colbert-Valenzula fight. Neither of them should be next in line for Tank, although considering the level of most of his opponents, he might just go in that direction in order to avoid Haney.

Andrade doesn't have a fanbase although his resume is still way better but since giving up his belt and going inactive and then moving up in weight, it's pretty clear that Benavidez will just stop that version. Whereas David Morrell is definitely a 50/50 or at least around 40/60 fight for Benavidez. Very risky though and Cuban fighters don't have a huge fan base as well.

Tank Davis for years already has no plans to fight any champions at 135. He has a huge casual fan base so he can keep on cherry-picking his opponents and then PBC will market them as dangerous opponents. He can talk and have a war of words against the champions to hype himself. And then he may take Valenzuela in his next fight.
544  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing: Regis Prograis vs Devin Haney (9th of December) on: December 18, 2023, 12:58:44 PM
Loma vs Haney? They fought already and Haney won, although it's controversial as others saw that Loma might have won the second stretch of the fight. Not sure though that Haney will fight Loma again, he is no longer interested at a rematch. Loma will be at a disadvantage at 140 lbs as he will be too small. It will be Haney vs the rest of the champion and then Davis when he decided to go up at 140 lbs.

Loma vs Haney at 140 will not happen as Loma will not go up in weight, 136 might be his maximum division. With regards to Haney, he is too big now that going to 136 is impractical, and besides the money fights are in the higher weight division.

Haney vs Teo Lopez will be entertaining to watch I think as both boxers have contrasting styles, counter-puncher vs aggressor, hope they will make this fight happen while they are still in the peak of their careers.

Loma is also fighting Kambosos for the vacant IBF belt at 135 in Australia and I also doubt he will move up to 140. Plus Haney felt offended when Arum was caught saying Loma clearly beat him. The same reason why Haney left Top Rank even if the offer was bigger and better compared to Matchroom. So in the meantime, until the wound heals, I highly doubt Haney will fight a Top Rank fighter next year which means Teo and Loma are out of the picture.

It's hard to think what's next for Haney. WBA and IBF champs are with PBC although Matias isn't that popular so he might be allowed to have a single fight on the other rival networks. But Matias might face Teofimo Lopez next.
545  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Which one is fun, watching with bet or without a bet? on: December 18, 2023, 10:19:56 AM
That sense of risk free when watching people gamble, the feeling has no match like other, but if those who are gambling on a match wins you will feel like you missed out,  it is better not to get closer to anyone that is into gambling or else you will start feeling like you are missing out.

You will feel more relaxed if you don't place a bet on a match but as a gambler you can still feel relaxed if you risk a very small amount on the match, the reason why people feel like they aren't having fun is because they use money they can't afford to lose on the match or game.

I don't have to place a bet on a match because it is not a must for me to bet on a game sometimes I just feel the need like I need to enjoy the game without placing a bet on the game.

The point of betting should be an amount someone can afford to lose. It should not be a big deal, as these betting sites always remind the bettors to be responsible gamblers. Someone who gambles irresponsibly means that person has problems that need to be fixed because he will be irresponsible even outside of gambling.

It indeed feels more relaxed without a bet. But that is nothing compared to the feeling when winning a bet even if it's just in small amounts. Like yesterday, I won around $30 during the Mobile Legends finals while hanging out with my friends. And there's so much thrill and excitement especially when the games are much closer.
546  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: December 18, 2023, 09:59:09 AM
Looks like the Warriors doesn't miss Draymond at all, since he was out they were already in a 2 winning streak.

And because of his absence, this opens up more playing opportunity for Trayce Jackson-Davis, who has been playing well in their win against the TrailBlazers. Though I don't want to get myself too excited on the win since I know myself that Trailblazers is not a playoff team, but the Warriors despite Curry was struggling, his teammates were able to step up, specially his splash brother Klay who scored 28 points that game.

Good thing they managed to win. But it's not that significant knowing they won against mediocre teams. And the Warriors only won by slim margins. The real score will be known in their next game as they will be hosting the Boston Celtics. If they can win that game then it's a sign that there is hope even without Draymond.

If the Warriors can maintain a rank in the top 8, then they'll be fine even without Draymond. But they'll need Draymond during the playoff games. The deep experience, superb defense, and the ability to set up plays are just too good to be missed by the Warriors.
547  Economy / Economics / Re: Do you still use Banks ? on: December 16, 2023, 09:13:07 AM
Yes, I still use banks.
Basically, I do it because here in my countries it is pretty much necessary to be able to manage FIAT and centralized assets through centralized services. Though, which it is quite ironic keeping in mind there has been a very bad history here in my country when comes to banks and centralized services.
We have gone through periods of time when people here has nor been able to withdraw all their money because very right restrictions on cash, pretty much nonsense.

Anyways, hopefully in the future there will be less dependence of my people on centralized services and and banks here in Latin America. Fortunately, Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies are gaining steam each year that passes by.

Good to hear about an experience from that side of the world. I do not know Latin America's banking system is so strict. The region though is very big, I only expected strict laws in Columbia and Mexico where illegal drugs and underground activities are rampant.

I did hear about a lot of potential in Latin America for crypto. Nicaragua is the first country to legalize bitcoin. There are also rumors that big-time miners are planning to relocate their plants in the region. Also, I heard about some schools in Argentina adopting bitcoin and crypto in their educational curriculum.

Here in Southeast Asia, banks and their other financial subsidiaries are still very important for regular transactions. Crypto is also growing but probably unlike your region except for Singapore.

So after the back-and-forth exchange of words on X between Devin Haney and Tank Davis which they deleted already, Eddie Hearn tried to make his move by wanting to discuss the possible big fight. Tank posted it earlier thinking he was making fun of Matchroom and Devin Haney. He then deleted it, he was probably advised later on that his tweet means he is ducking again by being unwilling to talk to Eddie who is Haney's promoter.

Good fights coming up this weekend. The best events are from Matchroom and PBC.

549  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: December 16, 2023, 08:03:27 AM
When you get a suspension, it is automatically cut from your salary, NBA players get paid per game basis and not per year basis to be fair, we do talk about per year basis because its easier to make the calculation that way, but they actually do get paid per game. That means, if you play all 82 games and you get paid 82 million (nobody does, just to make it easy example) that means you get paid 1 million per game. Injury doesn't count into that, if you get injured then you get paid every game as well, but on the game day, not beforehand, not afterwards. So when you are suspended, that means it will be cut from your salary, or at least that's the normal conduct, don't know if warriors would make a special case for Draymond and pay him, but they do have the right to not pay him if they do not want to, its in the contract.

Draymond Green has a $100 million 4-year deal. There's still a yearly computation because NBA salaries usually increase each year until the whole contract is consumed. So Green is averaging $25 million per year and paid around $300k per game. His 5 days suspension when he choked Gobert cost him over a million then. Yet here he is again punching someone in the face.

So it seems like losing a million doesn't bother him at all. Well tbh, if I have around $200 hundred million worth of assets and another $100 million coming into my bank account in the next few years I wouldn't mind losing a few million as well, especially when I bet a lot.
550  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Tyson Fury vs Oleksandr Usyk - February 2024 in Saudi Arabia on: December 15, 2023, 10:11:20 AM
Ngannou wasn't able to fully knock him out and it's a little bold to say that he didn't won. Yes, he won, he performed way better than Tyson Fury and actually won it but referees were very biased and said that Tyson Fury won.

Ref does not score the fight, it's the judges.

I understand your sentiment, probably you are one of the many who were disappointed with the result, but that's boxing, it is what it is. They say boxing is corrupt, yes, maybe,... but we are still here patronizing it, which means we still love the current status of boxing.

Take that knock down from Ngannou and you'll see who's the clear winner.. but then, it's just my opinion though, so let's just based on the final judgement which came from the judges, and Fury was the winner.

Actually he is one of those fans, who thinks that if a boxer gets knocked down, then he has lost. When actually it is just 10-8 on score cards. Double knock down and total humiliation is just 10-7. You can win 11 rounds of a close fight (the fact that you are a champ gives you a tiny-tiny advantage in corrupted boxing judgement). Then by the end of 12th round gets knocked down, the belt saves you from/during second knockdown, on the ropes. And you are still a champion Grin

Obviously that knock down was probably the basis of the fans to score in favor of Ngannou. However, if they will score each round, it's easy to stop who is the better fighter, probably Ngannou did well at the beginning but he lose his aggressiveness in the later rounds and Fury was dictating the fight with his effective jobs. Maybe times Fury get knock down and still end up winning the fight, so it shouldn't be new.

Yes, Fury isn't as perfect as some casuals thought. Fury had been down several times in his career and even a light-punching blown-up cruiserweight managed to drop him too. Fury even punched his own face in one of his fights before, luckily he didn't go down. Cheesy

The fight was close and in the end, Fury won and that's it. Ngannou has to win more convincingly if he wants to beat a champion. But in case of a rematch, Fury won't train at McDonalds anymore and he will brutally stop Ngannou.

And to those that do not know, Ngannou was given a slot in the December 23 Saudi card against WBO interim champion Zhilei Zhang but he refused it. Maybe Ngannou does not have the confidence to repeat his shocking performance against a top heavyweight. Or he just wants to rest for a while and wait for the biggest money possible which means Fury or AJ or Wilder.
551  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing: Regis Prograis vs Devin Haney (9th of December) on: December 15, 2023, 09:45:25 AM
Did they just delete their back-and-forth tweets? But no problem, some people are just too quick to save them. Cheesy

Tank can only say nothing because he is all talk. He can bark all he wants but he has no balls to face a champion at 135. Everybody wants Tank because he is popular and there's money on it just like Jake Paul and Ryan Garcia. Haney wanted him bad at 135 offering him an opportunity to be great by winning the undisputed championships in just one fight but Tank is too scared. Now Tank is barking knowing Haney won't drop down again at 135.

Meanwhile, here are the rumors at 140.
- Lineal and WBO champion Teofimo Lopez is in serious negotiation for a unification bout against IBF holder Subriel Matias. This is going to be fireworks so hopefully this will happen and the other belts should be united once again.
- Ryan Garcia, his team, and GBP are also negotiating a fight with Liam Paro, the same guy who scored a knockout in the Haney-Prograis main undercard. Ryan talking about the champions but is also scared to really fight them. But I respect him taking out Liam Paro. I believe Paro is a legit contender, so I will respect Ryan if he fights the tough Australian but not in dirty corrupt Texas of course.

Nice picks there mate. It's been a long time. I'm a few hours late. Team Secret as expected already lost. And BetBoom is also expected to beat Tundra but maybe not that easy. Somehow I want Tundra to win but just hesitant to bet on them. So far, BetBoom got the first map but it was a prolonged game. Itching to bet on Tundra with a +1.

Waiting on the next series of games. I have bets on Liquid and GG. Would be nice to read your assessments on the coming game between the Falcons and Liquid, and GG and Azure.
553  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: December 15, 2023, 08:55:36 AM

Maybe it is time for the draft lottery mechanics to change. I do not agree anymore that these worst-performing teams should get the highest chances of getting the number 1 pick. I would like it more if all teams that failed to qualify for the playoffs should have an equal percentage of getting the number 1 pick.

I don't think they'll work on changing the current rules with your suggestion. What the NBA is trying to achieve here is on balancing the NBA, and that every team are going to benefit and the fans would be interested in watching. Just like the 76ers before, they had a bunch of number 1 pick before they actually become a good team, so it's quite helpful that way.

Spurs may struggle so hard this season, if they'll get another first round pick, then most likely they'll not end up at the bottom again.

I also think that Spurs do this on purpose since they want to get another first round pick that's why they are not really bothered to lose this season again since as stated they are in rebuilding mode. And they are just leaving this season to develop Wemby that's the reason of all of there negative performance show in this conference. If this is the real case here then maybe there's something to investigate about and if there's a proven case of something like this happening maybe there's some changes needed to do so that they can make the league more balance and no teams would do this actions and make the league more balance then competition became more tighter since this is what fans actually like to see on each game they watch.

It's weird though if we assumed that Spurs management is doing it on purpose though. They have a great organizations, they have proven that they are a championship caliber team already. So it's very hard to think that coach Spo is doing or letting his team to have that losing streak or the worst team just to be able to get another first round pick. They will have to win and then developed Wemby so that the Spurs will be back on top again. So it might take years though to developed their young player. But if they found the secret formula or at least they know what the blue print is, then definitely they will be back in the number 2 seasons. So let's see how and when they are going to break that losing streak. Who knows, maybe before Christmas they will have a "gift".

There is nothing to investigate though since the Spurs are playing according to the rules. Coach Pop can make all his plays for Wemby to give him exposure. Like letting Wemby to the dribbles, allowing him to assist or even try to set a play. Everything the Spurs are doing is for the development of Wemby to turn him into an all-around superstar and the NBA cannot take action against it even if the plays are not capable of winning.

In Europe, their soccer leagues are relegating the weakest bottom teams and then other teams will enter the league. If this will be done in the NBA the competition will be better. You can rebuild but not like you have no plans of winning and are only looking forward to taking the best talents during the next drafts. Just imagine if 3 of the weakest teams in the Western and Eastern conferences are removed and sent to the lower leagues, that will make the NBA games more exciting to watch.

Meanwhile, The Spurs will play again tomorrow against the Lakers. The Lakers are on the road but at 1.40, this should be easy money again. There's no way Lebron allows his team as the reason the Spurs' worst losing streak ends. Cheesy

^  Yup same here.  I want Ferguson to own Pimblett's soul then ride off to the sunset and retire.  Smiley  And same for the Garry vs Luque one too.  I want Luque to win as I don't really like Garry much.  I think he's worse than Pimblett now that I think about it.  But the fight was canceled due to Garry getting pneumonia or something.  :/

But after a string of losses for years now, the guy probably forgot how to win. Cheesy It's sad though, he needs to retire since it's not good for his health. Everyone would love Ferguson to win. Maybe he just needs a win before retiring.

I think Ian Garry's withdrawal is staged. The guy is shamed a lot started by Strickland. He's a laughing stock now. He's probably in a mental state of confusion. Sean killed him outside of the cage. I wanted him to attend the press conference and see how he reacts when someone mocks at him. Colby did make fun of him at the press and he can do nothing about it.
555  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Investing altcoins now or during halving? on: December 15, 2023, 07:43:51 AM
I think even now there are still many altcoins that are still worth buying. Because several altcoins that have strong fundamentals still have not experienced an increase. So accumulating now would be the right time if we know which projects have not experienced price increases. It just takes extra effort to look for potential altcoins. Some time ago I accumulated some altcoins and haven't released them until now. I will wait until the bullrun reaches its peak.

Same here. I am also holding several altcoins. The original plan is to hold them until 2025 when I need to decide again if I sell them or part of them or hold them all for the next cycle. My Chainlink has already more than doubled and I am tempted to sell half of it and buy another altcoin that has not yet moved that high.

The altcoin market hasn't reached its full potential yet in this cycle so even at the current price, most of them are still good to buy. I still have plans to buy more eth and some other altcoins as part of my monthly DCA.

Oh my goodness! Victor Wembanyama is making history for the San Antonio Spurs franchise. Longest losing streak at 18 now. I just checked the worst NBA team losing streak and it is made by the Philadelphia 76ers at 28 straight losses. I guess the Spurs should not reached that 28-losing streak. There are 4 games that they have a chance to win against Portland, Chicago, and Utah.

Fun fact, Joel Embiid was a rookie when Philly had 28 straight losses. Luckily for Embiid, he was not healthy and never played a single game during that season. Grin

I don't know if there was line on when the Spurs are going to break that losing streak.

But they could have a good chances on the next 4 games against those teams as they are also struggling if I'm not mistaken. Portland, still in the post-Dame era. Chicago Bulls, rumor of a Zach Lavine Trade. And then the Jazz, still can't find their rhythm, 4 out of their last 10 games.

I haven't noticed one. But I would love to see special odds on the current Spurs' losing streak. So far I am having profits at least. I just have to catch during game times when the Spurs are leading or behind a little. And of course, the team they are playing with should be from the bottom 4 or 5 of the west and east. A minimum of 1.40 odds and I'm good already.

Maybe it is time for the draft lottery mechanics to change. I do not agree anymore that these worst-performing teams should get the highest chances of getting the number 1 pick. I would like it more if all teams that failed to qualify for the playoffs should have an equal percentage of getting the number 1 pick.

There was this rumor about the CIS players and teams that have been involved with massive betting and that's actually more than the money that these players can earn professionally. I don't know, it seems that it has been normal there and the real pro players are just avoiding to get involved with any unforeseen activities with their pro matches.

If I was a pro player for that kind of org, I'd be pretty wary of what could happen too. These orgs don't really care much about what's in line for these players should their activities be caught by the organizers of the tourney. A potential lifetime ban could be handed and these orgs could just restructure and hire new players and make more money again, while the pros need to face the reality that they are no longer allowed to play and earn from something that they've sacrificed lots of hours for just to get better and compete at the highest level.
That's what I've read in some of the orgs in the CIS region. But for sure the other ones like in Western Europe, they're careful and the same goes for the NA region. Whilst for SEA and China, it's said to be the same. They have seen the samples of those players that have been banned forever in the grandest tournaments and Valve-sponsored tournaments and ruined their potential good career in being a dota 2 professional player.

Well, this is what greed makes a person and even if you're a pro player, you've got a good salary and have sponsorships from many brands. You just chose to involve the important games of your life for this quick money. I think what they need is pressure from the tournament organizers like Valve, ESL, and other major brands that are being followed by these pro players. Because if there will be another sample given that they've made 322 on an actual tournament game and proven that they've done things intentionally, that's going to make them get out of the scene.

This is one of the best opportunity on this era, you play as a professional just like professional athletes and then get paid, get salary, get major brand sponsorships and with a few clicks away, you're going to sell a game and do 322 thing for the sake of that money which will definitely change your life as well in perspective of the pro players.

Matchmaking is happening even outside of e-sport and DOTA 2. It's just sad that it existed. One of my neighbors was lucky enough to become a member of a team that was sponsored by the biggest mobile network in our country. They were in division 2 and many times played outside the country. But things changed when he was part of those who were banned by Valved for matchmaking. I haven't spoken to him since I relocated but according to people I knew, that neighbor and his teammates didn't have much of an option but to follow instructions. I don't know, maybe it's their manager who made a deal with the syndicate. When hundreds of thousands to millions are involved it could be very dangerous.

Undecided
