561  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: unconfirmed/local transactions on: November 21, 2023, 03:54:32 AM
Transactions which have been purged from the mempool might not ever get confirmed because the original sender could spend those coins again. You could bump the effective fee rate of those unconfirmed transactions by sending the unconfirmed outputs to yourself with a higher fee.

I don't know what payment system you used, but if it's something custodial I would disable auto-withdrawals and only manually withdraw once a day or when the amount reaches a certain threshold.
562  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Javier Milei just won the presidentiial election in Argentina on: November 20, 2023, 04:36:33 AM
When asked about Bitcoin he showed great understanding about how it works. This doesn't necessarily mean that he supports Bitcoin, although opportunistic crypto publications have chosen to push a narrative that almost makes it sound like he's a Bitcoin maximalist. His libertarian beliefs align with many who are bitcoiners and to them his words can be seen as evidence that Bitcoin is gaining acceptance.
563  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Tyson Fury vs Oleksandr Usyk - February 2024 in Saudi Arabia on: November 20, 2023, 03:45:46 AM
The odds don't look bad at all. Francis Ngannou seems to have tarnished the image of Tyson Fury quite a bit so the odds have been heavily affected. It is not my place to belittle Tyson Fury, but if Ngannou is knocking him down as a cage fighter and there are rumors that he lost, which in my opinion, I can say that Ngannou won this match or at worst it should have ended in a draw. It will be very difficult for Tyson Fury against Oleksandr Usyk because his mobility is not even found in many light heavyweight boxers, he is very fast for his weight and with this speed he can control Tyson Fury.

Usyk has taken plenty of damage from fighters smaller than Fury. That's why I think he will struggle. If he can't avoid punishment from Anthony Joshua who is smaller and less skilled than Fury, then I don't think his speed and mobility will be enough to triumph. Fury is going to force him to engage and will test his resistance. This attrition will wear down Usyk and render him ineffective, in my opinion.
564  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: November 20, 2023, 03:01:06 AM
And speaking of Boots Ennis. He was actually offered by Crawford prior to the Spence fight. Ennis was so scared of the boogeyman that his team decided to make lame excuses and refused Crawford's offer. And their garbage excuse? According to them, Al Hymen treated them well so they wanted PBC to handle their fights, rejecting the chance to fight for a belt which would be promoted by Crawford's partners at that time. There's a video on this where Boots' dad was the one defending their lame excuse not to fight Crawford. Besides, Hymen did not really treat them well since they waited forever to enforce its mandate on Spence and it never came until the belt was taken by Crawford.

Spence activated the rematch clause on Crawford. This means Crawford will fight Spence next and not after fighting someone. Anyways, at Crawford's age, he's got no more business at 147. He should spend his limited remaining pro days fighting legacy fights like trying to get a belt at 154 to make him a 4-division champion or even become the first ever 3-division undisputed in the modern era.

Cameron Dunkin, who is Ennis's promoter, was once Crawfords manager. Crawford fired him and he has let his personal feelings get in the way of some opportunities for his fighter Ennis. Haymon has treated Cameron's fighters as second class citizens. Being so loyal to PBC has backfired because now they have no network to fight on and no leverage to negotiate with Crawford or any other top welterweight. Ennis is supposed to be the one who carries the torch when Crawford and Spence retire but the poor handling of his career is holding him back from realizing his potential.
565  Economy / Gambling / Re: FreeBitco.in-$200 FreeBTC⭐Win Lambo🔥0.2BTC DailyJackpot🏆$32,500 Wager Contest on: November 19, 2023, 12:44:07 AM

Yeah, I got one last month I think and I had posted the results also. I got around 10 GT by playing the Level 2 wagering requirement. I am not sure if this is the same level every time they publish the flash promo but it was good man. It did give me a lot of sats and LTs too. If someone is getting it then do not miss it. The opportunity almost comes as a flash and goes as a flash.

You better have freebitcoin email checked all the time. For me it's a habit because I am a FUN premium member and I do not wish to miss any of the free WOF that lands in my mailbox. This has made me check every mail that free bitcoin sends me and I have strong reason to believe this is what made me go through that Flash Promo mail also.

Hope that every player on freebitcoin will receive it and also avail it for grand prizes.

How did you wager to tier 2 without losing your entire balance?

For reaching tier 2 you would have to wager 0.005 BTC. If you make many bets to reach this amount then you will likely end up losing an amount that corresponds to the house edge which is about 0.00025, which isn't too devastating. If you only make a few bets the results can be more volatile but if you use a low multiplier then you are more likely to have a positive result. The only time I've gone for the flash promo bonus I made fewer than 10 bets with a 1.01 multiplier and won all of them.
566  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How high can the transaction fees become? on: November 19, 2023, 12:26:02 AM
The mining algorithm has nothing to do with transaction fees.

yes it does.

sha-256 is setup to mine BTC. btc is 10 blocks an hour

scrypt is setup to merge mine 20 blocks of LTC an hour and 100 blocks of doge an hour.

So  room for 10 blocks of tx fees vs

room for 120 blocks of tx fees

both Algos have LN  service

So scrypt can do 12x the volume of btc

The fact you posted what you posted shows how deep the problem runs as you did not understand my concerns in the least or the reasons I keep writing this.

using btc via sha 256 for cash in small amounts is at a 12x disadvantage to using scrypt LTC/Doge

So rather then complain about high fees lets move on to proper use for

BTC
Large value movement of wealth
Large value storage of wealth

LTC/Doge
small value payments
small value storage.

The solution above would work . At least that is the way I see it.

Bcash and Bcash SV use the SHA-256 algorithm also and their fees are comparable to or perhaps even cheaper than LTC and DOGE. Ethereum has higher throughput capacity than LTC & DOGE, yet its fees are higher. Fees are more a result of demand for blockspace and total capacity rather than the consensus algorithm used.
567  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Account Frozen Due to Suspicion of Money Laundering on: November 18, 2023, 11:25:41 PM
BitMart lists some really obscure memecoins and shitcoins with volume that seems too high to be realistic. Maybe they aren't the most reputable exchange but asking for money to verify your account just doesn't seem like something that occurs even on the most shady exchanges. It could be that this is a phishing attempt. It would be helpful if you posted screenshots of these emails and conversations with customer support so we can get a better understanding of this situation.
568  Other / Politics & Society / Re: freedom of expression on: November 18, 2023, 10:48:14 PM
Freedom of expression is not meant to be absolute but even in free and tolerant societies we have seen people's rights eroded by a significant degree. Many European countries and US states are making it illegal to criticize Israel. If you point out any crimes committed by Israel's apartheid regime you are accused of being an antisemite and there is the potential of being charged with a hate crime. There is widespread censorship of any criticism of Zionist settler terrorism with cooperation from Israel's military in regions of Palestine where there is no Hamas presence, so safety concerns can't be used as a justification — a clear example of genocidal violence.

Even free speech absolutist, Elon Musk, is threatening to deplatform those who support Palestinians right to resist occupation, apartheid, and ethnic cleansing. It seems that free expression is only free as long as you remain within the confines of what those in power deem acceptable.

570  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [ POLL ] The Unification Fight: FURY vs USYK 23rd December 2023 on: November 18, 2023, 05:39:47 AM
^ In that image with Arum, Usyk looks smaller than Ngannou he is a champ in WBA and WBO but he hasn't fought tough ones like Wilder. I bet when he is there on top already, he'd be an easy champ to beat by those aspiring ones.  It depends on how agile he still would be after pumping his weight.
That is Bob Arum and yes Usyk does seem much smaller than Ngannou. Look at him standing next to Fury, ordinarily you would think he has no chance but the way Fury is fighting and the way Usyk wants this fight to go ahead, it is clear he will be relentless in his pursuit and could defeat Fury.

That picture is from several years ago. Usyk has put on more muscle and gotten stronger since then. Fury likes to use his size and strength to bully his opponents. Ngannou showed that if you can neutralize those advantages Fury is a lot less effective. For Usyk, who normally weighs around 220 lbs, the disadvantages might be too significant to overcome.
571  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: November 18, 2023, 04:54:00 AM
@bisdak, @Boafeng. On Shakur being the WBC lightweight champion, would the fans have a unification vs. Devin Haney or will we witness Shakur and Haney avoid each other? There is also Tank hehehe. They might also avoid him very much similar to how the kings of welterweight were avoiding Boots Ennis.

Shakur is in a similar position to Demetrius Andrade. Fighters can just avoid him by saying that he is boring and wants too much money. There are still other good fighters in the division like Loma, Kambosos and Zepeda. We will likely see them challenge for Haney's other belts when they become vacant. A fight against any of them would be intriguing but unless they're offered a significant sum of money it might not be their highest priority to challenge Shakur Stevenson.
572  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Altcoins Also faces Congestion? on: November 18, 2023, 04:32:03 AM
Ethereum is known for it's high network fees. Whenever the price is pumping there is more activity on the blockchain which leads to congestion and higher fees. Currently, you can still do a simple ETH transfer for less than $1. Transferring tokens and interacting with smart contracts can get expensive but it has been worse before. To get the lowest fees possible you will have to move to a second layer or choose a more centralized blockchain with can handle more transactions.
573  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Stevenson vs De Los Santos - Nov 16 on: November 17, 2023, 07:01:07 AM
And as everyone has expected, Stevenson has been dominating the fight, and I only gave Delos Santos just one round though. Or order for Edwin to win, he has to score a knockout but I doubt that he can do that against Shakur.

But I'm expecting that someone will comment that this is a snooze fight, or boring.

That was the worst main event I've seen all year. Shakur showed that he can avoid punches but he refused to do anything meaningful offensively. Stevenson can't claim that he is the most ducked fighter when he does nothing worth considering him an appealing opponent. If you really are better than Haney and Tank then there is no excuse for fighting scared against much inferior competition.

Controversial win by Navarette, I don't know, but it could go either way and it seems to me that Robson was "Rob" again.

"Robbery" is one of the most overused terms in boxing. A few weeks ago Ngannou was "robbed" because he did more damage to Tyson Fury. Tonight Conceicao was "robbed" even though he was beat up quite badly. There is no consistency or logic to these claims. People simply tend to side with the underdog when they exceed expectations. It was a close and competitive fight but, with the knockdowns, Conceicao would have needed to win 8 of 12 rounds to get the decision and that doesn't seem like an accurate representation of the fight in my opinion.
574  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How high can the transaction fees become? on: November 17, 2023, 03:40:29 AM
Do you think it's a better idea to move them to a lightning wallet like on electrum for example before the transaction fees get too high? I want to avoid paying a big amount just for one transaction in the main network

The fees are already too high. The best time to open a lightning channel is when fees are low because it requires an on-chain transaction. Lightning is meant for smaller payments so perhaps you shouldn't move your entire cold storage to lightning. I would just open a channel big enough for a few payments and occasionally top it off.
575  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is Gambling Generally An Illicit Activity? on: November 17, 2023, 03:05:57 AM
Gambling isn't an illicit activity in most countries but it is a highly regulated activity. Gambling really shouldn't be included along with drug trafficking and embezzlement. The Wikipedia editor who wrote that has an outdated concept of gambling. Most people aren't going to be making enough from unregulated gambling that they need to go to great lengths to conceal it from the government.
576  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why do you want to play on casinos without KYC requirements? on: November 17, 2023, 02:41:39 AM
1. KYC requirements reduce money laundering.
2. KYC requirements reduce under age gambling.
3. KYC requirements increase the possibility to hold people to account for their actions. (Exploiting casino systems)
4. KYC requirement reduce scamming
5. KYC requirements can be used to restore accounts after it has been hacked. (Using the documents that were used by the original owner)
6. KYC requirements adhere to government regulations and legitimize a casino.
7. KYC requirements can be used to reduce gambling addiction. (Identifying people that self-excluded or people trying to create new accounts)
8. KYC requirements can be used to enforce regional gambling restrictions.

None of this is actually true. KYC doesn't reduce money laundering, it just makes it possible to attach an identity to a crime. Criminals usually think a few steps ahead and aren't using their own documents for verification. Non-KYC casinos can just ban a player if they are aware of suspicious activity.

None of the other arguments in the list hold much weight either. KYC only reduces privacy for law abiding gamblers and the data collected can be used against them. It makes them susceptible to identity theft, targeted attacks, and unwarranted surveillance.
577  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Binance Releases Web3 Wallet custodial crap on: November 16, 2023, 04:33:20 AM
it is extremely ridiculous when they claimed that the wallet is self-custody but at the end of the terms and condition they said that they are co-sign the transaction and they are also able to prevent us to do transaction in our own wallet. Binance should never call their supposed Web3 wallet a self-custody in any way. It's a false marketing and they are definitely lying.

https://www.talkimg.com/images/2023/11/15/zWfRD.png

It is very confusing because the user is in control of two of three key-shares but from the description in their terms and conditions it doesn't seem like it is possible for users to recover their funds without Binance's cooperation. They can effectively hold your money hostage for whatever arbitrary reason they decide. That is not true self-custody and any user that is prevented from withdrawing their funds from their wallet has a right to sue them for making those false statements.
578  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Wilder Vs Parker & Joshua Vs Wallin Boxing Mega Saudi card 23rd December on: November 16, 2023, 04:02:06 AM
The last time there was a card this stacked was probably when Don King was the top promoter many decades ago. I am impressed at the ability of the Saudis to bring together this lineup of fighters regardless of promoter or network affiliation.

Even if Wilder and Joshua have been diminished by the brutal beatings they've taken, it is still an intriguing potential matchup. I am not counting Wallin and Parker out. They are very capable fighters and it wouldn't surprise me if either of them won.

It's great to see Bivol back in action. Hopefully this leads to an undisputed fight with Beterbiev. The rest of the undercard is also interesting since it is full of contenders who would be headliners on any other night.
579  Other / Archival / Re: WasabiWallet.io | Open-source, non-custodial Bitcoin Wallet for desktop on: November 16, 2023, 03:04:29 AM
I do not know who you are and why you are supportive toward a deceptive pathological liar.  BUT,

The failure is not the hackers because according to Kruw there is no expertise necessary to maintain Privacy with Wasabi 2.0.  Kruw even GUARANTEES that ANY attempted Blockchain Analysis will result in a dead end because EACH Transaction you make is made FULLY private,

I was refuting a claim that I found to be misleading based on my own observations. It has nothing to do with supporting any individual person. The hacker didn't lose privacy because of anything having to do with Wasabi. Non-custodial software can't be blamed for actions which it has no possible control over. Nobody in their right mind would interpret Wasabi's marketing statements as a claim that they can somehow bestow you with perfect privacy invulnerability under any circumstance.
580  Other / Archival / Re: WasabiWallet.io | Open-source, non-custodial Bitcoin Wallet for desktop on: November 15, 2023, 05:23:47 AM
You might want to tell that to Binance, who are investigating after the attacker's failed "mixing" with Wasabi: https://nitter.cz/RMessitt/status/1724139247127425209#m

Cheesy

That's completely misleading. If anybody failed it was the hacker who stopped the mixing process after 1 coinjoin, then merged enough outputs and reused addresses to make it easy to identify them. There wasn't any toxic change in the coinjoin, only coins with lower anonymity scores which would have undergone further mixing had they not interrupted it or used custom settings that are weaker than any of the default mixing options.
