Although this tragedy deserves our attention (regardless of the ethnicity or the religion of those who suffer,) it's really off topic in the Reputation sub board.  You should move it to Off-topic because I don't have the heart to report it.

There's a link on the lower left-hand side of the page that allows you to move the thread.

~

PalermoMoon certainly seems to have the Humbertin vibe.  I'm generally less inclined to be convinced by a misspelling, but there is the writing style, apparently native use of the Spanish language, and this tidbit below, which he's posted several times:

Username Hello I am Humb

I'm not not sure I see enough to link TheChin0s just yet, but his behavior is rather odd and the writing style fits.  Other than him posting that address in the $50 give-away thread (then replacing it,) the only instance I could find of him posting that specific address is when he quoted MachineGam.  It's worth noting that in the $50 give-away thread he was the first to post after the OP.  Can't exactly claim he was quoting someone else, and forgot to edit the address.

As for MachineGam, his writing style seems the same, also posts in Spanish, and the address does link him to PalermoMoon.  HIs behavior also seems odd; attempting to build trust by getting loans.

None of this is really surprising, Humbertin has been farming alts for years now.
643  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: Bisq trading fees / losing maker/taker fees on: February 08, 2023, 01:16:01 AM
FYI, you get a significant discount by using BSQ to pay the commission fees.
I know that but I have never checked how to get my hands on some BSQ. Can they be bought on Bisq or where is the best way to get them?

Yeah, you can buy them on bisq, not sure if they're traded elsewhere.  Under the "Buy" (or "Sell") tab, just below the green bar at the top you'll see the Bitcoin, BSQ, XMR, and Other markets.

As for what happens to your fees and open offers while your computer is off; the offer just goes off-line during that time, meaning it won't be visible to other traders.  Your funds will remain safe in your wallet, and you won't lose your offer.  When you go back on-line your offers will be visible to other traders again, and no additional fees will be charged.
That's what I wanted to know, thanks.

Yeah, Bisq is pretty straight-forward, no hidden fees or charges, and the trade fees are very reasonable.  It might take some getting used to if you accustomed to a centralized exchange, but once you get the hang of it things get easier.

Answer to your first question: From my v1.9.9 Bisq, in Funds, down the "Send funds from wallet" form, there is a withdrawal transaction fee. The software tells me that the lowest acceptable fee is 2 sat/vb.
That's OK, I know how to adjust the withdrawal fees from Bisq to outside wallets. I was only asking about the trading fees.

The Bisq UI doesn't have much in the way of advanced features, so if you're concerned about such things as fees and coin-control within your Bisq wallet you can always use Electrum to manage your wallet in parallel.  It's not recommended because you can break offers if you accidently send a UTXO that's reserved for an open offer.  The worst that will happen is you'll lose your fees, and have to create a replacement offer.  If you want to use Electrum, note that your Bisq wallets have custom derivation paths.  Go to the "Account">"Wallet Info" tab to see them along with Xpubs for watch-only wallets.
644  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: Bisq trading fees / losing maker/taker fees on: February 07, 2023, 08:05:53 PM
Based on what you are saying, the trading fees have to stay the way the app suggests and there is no way to manually increase/decrease them based on current network conditions.
Any thoughts on my second question? Do traders lose any money by taking their orders offline? Not deleting them from the order books, just taking them temporarily offline.

The transaction fees for a trade are set by the software to minimize the amount of time for a trade to complete.  They are kind of high, but I've never seen them at 20 sat/vbyte.  If I'm not mistaken they are usually at 2 to 5 sats/vbyte depending on how busy mempool is.  Are you sure you're not mistaking the Bisq commission for a transaction fee?  FYI, you get a significant discount by using BSQ to pay the commission fees.

It's probably best not to entertain (or educate) this troll too much, he'll be back with more accounts soon enough.

Maybe you think about that we can use PM?

More imbecilic lies?  The transaction happened 2 minutes before you logged in, so how were you able to communicate via PM?  Face it man, you came here to wage a battle of wit completely unarmed.

I'm still curious why an institutional investment house wants to gain privacy only if the anti-privacy and anti-fungibility company approves. Like, if only there were other ways to mix coins without the clean-coins-check, right?

If it were my investment house, I would want to keep my clients' funds and transactions private just to aid in the customer's ability to remain private.  Bank transactions can remain private since all transactions are conducted centrally, and are not broadcast publicly, but that's not possible with the blockchain.

Pretty wild theories you got there Shocked

Oh, hello there, Mr. Wasabi.  How kind of you to join us, if only to mock our speculations.  Instead of your mockery, perhaps you can enlighten us as to how you managed to drum up so much business from the same demographic you aim to condemn?
649  Economy / Lending / Re: I need a 220 usd loan, please (filled) on: February 06, 2023, 06:14:36 PM
how about you give me a chance shasan and give me a loan of 500 € how about that and let me proof that a newbie can be a legit borrower  and NO scammer

How about you get a job, and stop pestering people for a loan?  You've been at this for almost a year now!

Hello would need 100-250 € loan   can give some information (bank) can make payment back in 1 month time  with intrest 5 %
can give documents ID in collateral  if needed

contact me if intrested

Since you haven't been able to get even €100 in the last year to cover your needs, who is going to believe that you'll pay back €500 in one month?  Nobody, that's who!  Your temper tantrums and your sense of entitlement only provide more suspicion about your intentions.  No one here is obligated to give you a loan, but you seem to think that you're entitled to one.  You're not!  Now your latest outburst is just showing what a jealous nitwit you are, because some other newbie got a loan and scammed the lender, you seem to think that you are entitled to the same.  You keep reminding everyone that you were scammed for €500, and your attitude only makes me think that you are trying to scam someone else to get your €500 back.

So once again; fuck off and get a job.
650  Economy / Services / Re: Need a paypal account. on: February 03, 2023, 07:35:23 PM
I have no phone number in the USA as well as I have no bank account in the USA and also I have no debit or credit card in the USA.

How would that work, exactly?  Let's assume I was willing to create a PayPal account for you (I'm not, but for the sake of argument,) how would you attach a bank account or a debit card to it if you don't have a US-based account?  Wouldn't I need to add a bank or credit card account of some type to verify the PayPal account?  You'll have to forgive me for not knowing how this works; I created my PayPal account maybe 20 years ago, and haven't used it much (if at all) in the last few years.

There are several reasons why I wouldn't help with this request, not the least of which is that I would be committing fraud, but the other reason is that I hate PayPal and so should you. Wink

Isn't there some alternative?  Revolut, for example?

What the fuck are you rambling on about?  What could you possibly do to anyone for making comments here, bs or otherwise?
652  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: Wasabi Coinjoins Seem Larger and More Popular on: February 03, 2023, 07:00:50 PM
The large transactions make it more likely that it is institutional investors using Wasabi, and that could easily account for the larger coinjoin pools.

Maybe this was a test by their team or something to see how well a large transaction would work.  The government has come out and said that they can trace coins through traditional coin mixers if the amount is over a certain threshold.  Perhaps this is them testing if they can truly keep large transactions anonymous.  It also could just be a promotional tactic.  I've seen plenty of posts and articles about this large transaction already, which is probably the best advertising one could have for Wasabi wallet.  I think that's more likely then someone suddenly wanting to use coinjoin for such a massive transaction.  Even if they were to use coinjoin for this amount, wouldn't they still split it up to avoid being in the news? Seems contrary to what they were trying to accomplish if it were a real transaction.

Good point, it could very well be a publicity stunt.  And you're right about the large transaction being withdrawn all at once, how is that supposed to help with privacy?  It would be the same with any mixing service; i.e. if you dump 130BTC into a mixer, then transfer 130BTC into a single wallet a few minutes, hours, days, or even weeks later anyone with any sense would assume the transactions are related.
653  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: Wasabi Coinjoins Seem Larger and More Popular on: February 03, 2023, 05:48:46 PM
Although it seems surprising to those of us who are concerned about privacy and Wasabi's plan to use blockchain analysis to blacklist UTXOs, it's not surprising to see large transactions going through Wasabi's coinjoin coordinator.  The Wasabi team made it clear when they made their announcement last year that the primary reason for the decision was to attract institutional investment houses to use their coinjoin.

The large transactions make it more likely that it is institutional investors using Wasabi, and that could easily account for the larger coinjoin pools.

If the 49ers wanted it they could give him a one day contract and let him retire as a member of their team, the Patriots did this a few times if I am not mistaken so it is not something unheard of, and if they were allowed to release merchandise related to Brady the move alone could be worth doing from a financial standpoint.

That's been done several times by several teams, but as far as I know that's only happened for players that had played on that team previously.  Like Jerry Rice, for example; he went to the Raiders for a while, then retired as a 9er with a 1-day contract.  As for Brady, my guess is he'll retire as a Patriot.  At least, that's what I think he should do.

And about his retirement, I think it was about time, I am sure the guy still wants to play but the longer he played the greater the chances he will be unable to retire on his own terms and instead it could be due to an injury, then it is better for Brady to walk away now while he is still the one which can make the call.

Agreed, his last season will soon be forgotten and his accomplishments will remain legendary for decades to come.  He has his health intact, and he'll be fine financially.

~

Reliable reports estimate he lost $41 million in the FTX debacle.  It's also worth noting that the FOX deal is $375 million for 10 years, averaging 37.5M per year.

Agreed. However, it might depend on which job offer pays him higher. Tom Brady love to play and I reckon he would play into his 50s if his body permits this. Also playing for his team would certainly fulfill a childhood dream of his. I wish the 49ers would propose to him a 2 year contract with a tempting amount hehe.

I really don't think the 9ers would do that, nor would Brady at this point.  If he has any hope of reconciling with his wife, it'll be squandered if he signs another contract regardless of the team.

In any case, I have been hiding in embarassment from this thread because everything that I have predicted for the conference finals were wrong hehehehe. I will admit this now, Philadelphia Eagles is the best team in the NFL for this season. 49ers had bad luck, however, they would certainly have lost if Purdy was also playing. For the superbowl Eagles -2.

Haha, quit your whining, we're all wrong from time to time.  Some of us more than others.  Undecided

I still think the 9ers are a better team than the Eagles.   Kiss
655  Economy / Lending / Re: Looking for $1k No interest Loan, Collateral Available! on: February 01, 2023, 09:39:43 PM
It might but not for this amount. 1k is a lot without solid collateral...

I wasn't aware that all the lenders on this forum appointed you as their spokesperson.  Roll Eyes
656  Economy / Lending / Re: Looking for $1k No interest Loan, Collateral Available! on: February 01, 2023, 03:55:59 PM
Loan Amount > 1k USDT

Interest > No

Collateral > 25k BLT (Worth $1350) (will be able to top up more in case the rate decreases)

You can check the rate on Matcha > https://www.matcha.xyz/markets/1/0x107c4504cd79c5d2696ea0030a8dd4e92601b82e/0xeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

PayBack > 1 March 2023

If anyone can help out, I will pm my USDT address.

alterra57 is correct, that token has only about $1k of daily volume which makes it nearly worthless as collateral.  In the unlikely case you were to default on the loan, the lender might crash the market attempting to trade $1350 worth of the token.

Not that it matters much in your case; your rank and trust level might be enough for someone to give you a loan without collateral but your unwillingness to pay interest makes it unlikely.
657  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🏈🏈 The American Football Discussion Thread 🏈🏈 on: February 01, 2023, 02:54:30 PM
But I don't want to digress from the topic now..

You're not digressing from the topic, this thread is about American Football regardless of where the game is played or watched.  The popularity of the game or the NFL, in the US or other countries is well within the scope.

I like Tom Brady also, even though he's never played for a team that I root for.  I hope he gets his life on track actually sticks with it this time.  I imagine the 49ers would love for him to join as a backup to Brock Purdy, which would be very helpful to the youngster's career, but honestly I don't see that happening.  I doubt Brady would settle for a backup roll, and I expect him to focus on his family for now.  There will be a time when we see him regularly in a broadcasting roll, of that I have no doubt.
658  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Request address balance from any Electrum server on: February 01, 2023, 03:11:26 AM
Importing watch only is a manual process. I am looking for a programmable solution. In which we can send requests to electrum servers. Like simple http or json requests

You'll have to forgive me, I'm trying to guess what you're trying to do, you haven't given us many details.  It sounds like you want to take the addresses from your website sales, and automatically check their balances.  You can do that with the Electrum client.  You can copy the entire list of public addresses and paste them into a new or existing watch-only wallet.  It's manual, but doesn't take very much time.  You don't have to do one address at a time.

I imagine you (or someone) can write a script that exports your web sales, extracts the addresses, and creates a new wallet with those addresses.  It's beyond my skills, but I reckon it's possible.  As for something that already exists that will do what you want, I don't know about anything.
659  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Connecting to a node? on: January 31, 2023, 10:52:39 PM
Okay, that doesn't help much. How can she optain the server IP?

The IP address of her local machine will only allow you to connect to her server if you are on the same local network, in other words plugged into her router or using her wifi.  If you want to connect from outside her local network she'll need the internet IP address from her router, and she needs to enable port forwarding to tell her router where to send queries to the Electrs port (usually 50001.)  Take note, if her internet service provider uses CGNAT, you won't be able to connect to her server from outside her local network unless she has a virtual private network set up, or uses TOR.  TOR is by far the easiest way to get around CGNAT for personal use.

To find the server's local network IP address use the following commands:

Linux:
Code:
ip add

Windows:
Code:
ip config

To find the internet IP address the easiest way is to log into the router's configuration page, you'll find it listed there.  Once in the router's configuration page you should be able to set up port forwarding there.

She needs to setup a reverse proxy

No, she doesn't.  Not unless she has a VPN running on a cloud server or some complex set up of that sort, but given the questions being asked here I gather that's not the case.  The only reason she would even need such a set up is if she didn't want to use TOR and has a service provider that issues IPs through Carrier Grade Network Access Translation (CGNAT,) such as satellite internet, cable internet, or 5G internet services.

If her ISP uses telephone-based land-line connections like ADSL or Fiber, her router will be issued an IP address that's reachable from outside the local network.
660  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Request address balance from any Electrum server on: January 31, 2023, 10:29:53 PM
Hello
Can we request an Electrum server to tell us balance of an address? As electrum software does this by querying these servers to get balances of addresses so can we do this manually in browser or through some short code? What will be the process?
Can Electrum servers be used to confirm payments for website invoices?
Thanks

Yes, there is.  Install and run your own blockchain explorer.  Mempool.space is easy enough to install.  Blocstream can also be installed locally and used as a private blockchain explorer.  The easiest thing to do is follow Charles-Tim's suggestion; i.e. import all the public addresses into an Electrum watch-only wallet.
