661  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Play equal to deposited funds before you can withdraw on: October 19, 2023, 11:31:07 AM
This is a common rule in most casinos and it is nice because I don't see any reason why you will fund your gambling wallet and you are not ready to gamble with some amount, and later you come back to make withdrawal. This will make the casinos raise eye browns towards your action. It is not also fair to show the casino that you have funds and don't want to use the money to enjoy their service, since they are not banks, where anyone will just dump some money and withdraw immediately. One should note that if you don't want to use that money for gambling, there is no need that you put it into your gambling wallet, if not you will not be given access to withdraw it you wager.

Gamblers who complain about this rule are usually not committed gamblers, as they aren't sure if they're ready to risk what they have. When we gamble, we must understand that the amount we deposit should be ready for action, not something we just leave sitting in a casino, spend a little of your deposit, and eventually withdraw it. It's like you're wasting your time and the casino's time. If you're going to gamble, do it wholeheartedly, as that's where the real enjoyment is found. Gamblers aren't known for being timid, right? We even go all-in when we're desperate.
662  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing: Regis Prograis vs Devin Haney on: October 19, 2023, 08:50:22 AM
I already voted for Haney by decision but personally, I want Prograis to win. So I support Prograis because he is the more exciting fighter by delivering knockouts in most of his fights.

Same here. Haney is a boring fighter and he should not be undisputed at the moment as Loma schooled him hehe. I just hope though that Prograis would knock him out because if this goes the distance, most likely Haney will win by decision as judges will favor him. We may not like him but Haney has also this amazing "Mayweather-like" defense.

Haney might try to emulate Mayweather’s style but he is a cheap knock-off. Since becoming champion none of his fights have been entertaining. Gamboa is a fighter that gets dropped almost every fight and Haney couldn’t hurt him. Linares, another washed up old guy hurt him badly. Joseph Diaz made him look average.

I think Haney will probably win but it’ll be like most of his other fights where he hugs his opponent all night.

I found the Devin Haney vs. George Kambosos 2 fight to be very entertaining. Haney still won that fight, but I saw more action compared to his previous fights. Kambosos was a champion too, but he was outclassed by Haney. Not only is Haney quick and very smart with his strategy, but I could also tell during that specific fight that he has a solid chin.

So, I think he is really ready to face Prograis, who is a powerful puncher. I hope he won't be boring to watch, where all he does is hit and run, similar to his mentor. Obviously, he would win if the basis is only scoring, but that would leave the fans dissatisfied for this championship fight. I don't know if he is a PPV attraction, but if he is, he should improve his fighting style to entertain the fans more.
663  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: October 19, 2023, 08:16:01 AM
James Harden is absent from training camp today and hasn’t been with the team since Sunday. It looks like he gave it a try but is now back to being on hiatus while trying to force his team’s hand and get him a trade to the Los Angeles Clippers. It seems like this has to happen before the season starts, so I’m expecting to hear something soon.

He is more likely serious about getting out from that team and he is legally doing everything he can to piss them off. I don't know where this drama will end, also the 76ers are not convinced to trade him and they are keeping him till now no matter how childish he acts these days. what could have been the reason why he made this kind of drama every time he wanted to get away from his responsibility?

With the way Harden is acting so far, the 76ers should not expect much from him. He wants out, and they should grant his request. I'm confident they can trade him for some good players. Why delay the inevitable when they'll eventually grow tired of keeping a player who is not willing to be part of the team? Harden is done; he has openly expressed his disinterest in playing with the team, so there's no reason to prolong his agony.
664  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022–23 PBA Commissioner's Cup on: October 19, 2023, 03:04:15 AM
Is there any news or rumors yet about who will replace Brownlee as Ginebra's import?

I believe there's immense pressure on whoever steps in to replace Brownlee, as he will be playing for the best team in the PBA. The crowd won't likely take kindly to a lack of success in the upcoming season. As for TNT, I think it's already been announced that RHJ will be their import. At least Ginebra will aim to find an import who can compete with and surpass RHJ, as he seems to be the benchmark now.
665  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: October 19, 2023, 02:17:49 AM
What is up with Klay Thompson and GSW? There's been no progress on his potential contract extension, but I doubt they will let Klay go or even let Klay himself play for another team. This happened to Green last time, and we even have more drama. Maybe just a little bit of drama this time before they reach an agreement again. But at the end of the day, business is business.

Don't worry about that, Klay, Curry, and Green are the big three of the team. I think they will be rewarded with significant contracts since they've delivered multiple championships to the team. If Green gets the contract he desires, I believe Klay will still receive a decent contract, although it may not be the largest of his career, as it's undeniable that his production dropped after he suffered a serious injury and missed the whole season.

This was his statement regarding this issue as published by https://sports.yahoo.com/klay-thompson-not-worried-about-expiring-contract-determined-to-finish-career-with-warriors-204915823.html
Quote
It’s not going to be a thing,” Thompson said, via The Athletic. “The fact that I’m going into my 13th season — that alone — it gives me such a peace of mind.

“Granted, I’ve made money. I’ve been able to take care of my family, myself, the people I love. But when I started playing this game, I never once thought I’m playing the game because I’m going to be rich and famous, never did. I played this game because my dad played. I idolized him. My favorite athletes were hoopers … The fact that I’m doing it for a 13th straight season is amazing.”

If we reflect on that statement, I think he meant that he would be happy to continue with the Warriors and retire as a Warriors, even if they won't offer him as big a contract as he received the last time he signed with the team.
666  Local / Others (Pilipinas) / Re: How can we increase the merit distribution within our local community? on: October 19, 2023, 02:02:14 AM
That's because they are so focused and have a lot of time to spend in the forum. I think most of us here have real-life commitments aside from being active in this forum, so it takes a backseat. Many of us have day jobs and businesses to take care of. However, we can enhance our community with various informative discussions, making it interesting not only for active members but also for newbies who want to learn.

When it comes to earning merits, there isn't a specific board you need to focus on, as merits are distributed across the forum. Even if some boards have plenty of merits to offer, you also need to consider whether you can contribute to that specific board. The forum has built-in statistics to track merits distributed within the forum, and you can view different merit stats here:

It's up to you to analyze how to use this to your advantage.
667  Economy / Economics / Re: Dangers of combining company and personal funds in the same account on: October 18, 2023, 01:48:16 PM
You really need to understand the fundamental principle of running a business if you're thinking about mixing your personal funds and company funds. The business entity is separate and distinct from the owner; that's the essence of the business entity concept. In accounting principles, it's crucial to keep them separate. When you have a business, you should only account for the transactions of the business itself. You can't include your personal transactions because that will not provide an accurate picture of the business's financial status. We're specifically talking about the income and expense status, commonly known as the income statement in accounting terms.
668  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sports bets or in-house games, which is best for the weekend. on: October 18, 2023, 01:28:08 PM
Sport bets vs in-house games which is most enjoyable and has a higher tendency of bringing much winning compared to it possibility of losing?

It's sports betting – we can use that words since it's widely used. It's just for me, though. I would choose sports betting over casino games, although I also enjoy casino games. But since you're asking about the possibility of losing, of course, you're likely to lose when there's a house edge – regardless of the actual house edge.

Maybe just play what you like because that's the only way to truly enjoy it. But don't expect too much when you choose to play at a casino – just hope you get lucky, so you'll end up winning!
669  Economy / Gambling / Re: My best SPORTSBETTING advices! ⚽️ on: October 18, 2023, 07:38:45 AM

Yeah, parlay can be a real sucker bets, but you don't have to take it to the extreme and wipe out your bankroll. That'd be crazy unless your entire bankroll is exclusively for parlay bets, which would probably lead you to bankruptcy sooner or later. Parlay bets offer a tempting jackpot, but remember, it's all in good fun. You might want to throw a few bucks into a parlay, but your main focus should be on the specific sports you've spent time analyzing – that's where you stand a decent chance of winning.
Multi or parlay bets are of course very tempting for gamblers - but the success rate of winning is very low, especially if the gambler chooses more than 5 games. Parlays are fine as long as the gambler has a budget limit to try their luck - but the main focus in betting should be on the initial plan they have analyzed.

I'm not sure about parlays at all - it's just a quicker way to lose money than betting on a single game. Sometimes the teams we put on the betting slip are convincing – but generally they are very disappointing even though they are favorites in their respective matches. If I want to bet - it's only on one match instead of multi or parlay.

Winning parlay bets is often seen as a measure of how good you are at gambling. Some say it's like throwing your money away, but if you can come up with a different outcome, it's incredibly fulfilling. Until that happens, though, you might want to think twice about challenging yourself with parlay bets because the chances of winning are pretty slim. Anything that looks too attractive usually has a slim chance of winning.

Single bets are the way to go, really. It's the best and simplest betting strategy. You choose a few games, put in some effort to analyze them, and it's not all just luck. That's what keeps us in the game – the challenge. When people talk about a bankroll, it should be something significant, something for the long-term journey, not just an overnight gambling session.
670  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I was ripped off on: October 17, 2023, 12:29:23 PM
Transactions on the blockchain are irreversible, but in the case of a typical transaction, such as buying a car using a Bitcoin address, you would need to prove that the owner of the address you sent the funds to is the same person who scammed you. In this situation, there is a chance that your Bitcoin can be recovered, although it may not be in the form of Bitcoin if it has already been withdrawn or converted. Recovery is still possible with the assistance of the authorities.

What you should do is file a police report, provide them with all the details of the incident, and let them investigate to determine if there's enough evidence to identify and accuse a specific person. This is where your optimism for recovering the value you lost can come into play.
671  Economy / Gambling / Re: My best SPORTSBETTING advices! ⚽️ on: October 17, 2023, 11:43:14 AM
You know what, blindly betting on low odds doesn't sound like solid betting advice at all. If that's the case, it's like saying we don't even need to bother analyzing the game or the fight because we're already pretty sure the low odds will win. I've got to stress this point because back when I was a newbie in gambling, I used to bet on those low odds all the time, and let me tell you, in the long run, it really ate away at my bankroll.

Speaking from personal experience, and I'd offer this as advice too, it's a smart move to gamble with a decent bankroll. That way, you take your gambling journey seriously and think of it as a long-term plan. It's kind of like a season in the NBA. If you manage to end up in the black, that means you've got a bright future ahead of you. Some people might not make it through the whole season, so just being profitable is already a big win, no matter how much profit you're raking in.

Then you probably only placed the bet because of the odds without any research or knowledge, then in the long run you will of course go broke, but if you do research and find good but not to high odds, you will for sure be a winner in the long run. I don't saying you should bet in 1.10 odd games, but around 1.50-2.00 odd is where I mostly looking, but the most important is the research, I am just saying instead of play a 5 game paralay with 15 in odd and rely completely on luck, it's a lot better to do a double with maybe 2-3 in odd with some research and you can minimize the luck you will be needed.

Just stick with what you think is right. If you love your method, then stick with it. Who am I to say that you should change and follow my recommendation? Personally, I haven't been successful in gambling yet, so I'm not in a position to lecture you. What I shared was only my personal perspective based on my experience, so you can choose to take it or not. Besides, gambling is very unpredictable. Your strategy may work for you but not for other gamblers, or vice versa. We really can't tell.

However, one last thing I'll mention is to be careful with parlay bets. If you become too fond of that betting strategy, you might not realize you've already lost your bankroll. Parlay bets can be fun, but based on my personal experience, they can easily wipe out your bankroll because the chances of winning are very slim.
672  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Changed the game you gamble on? share your story. on: October 17, 2023, 06:44:03 AM
Is it the game you started playing as a gambler that you still play till now? Is there any gambler in this place who was used to playing a particular game before but never was successful winning or did not win enough and then made up their mind that it was time for a change in the game you gamble on. Which game did you change from, and what did you change to? how long did you play the game that you are deciding to stop playing because of the bad outcomes?

Right now, I'm still a sports fan, so I continue to bet on sports. Although I also enjoy some casino games, who wouldn't want to try new games introduced by a casino or popular casino games? They add to the entertainment we seek. However, it's essential to remain realistic when it comes to casino games, considering the house edge that's always present. If your main goal is winning, it's crucial not to get too fixated on casino games. That's why I'm primarily focused on sports betting. I haven't achieved my ultimate goal yet, but I'm doing well and enjoying my journey so far.

Rapper Drake lost $850,000 on Logan Paul's fight with Dillon Danis - despite backing the right man to win. Paul took on Danis over six rounds last night alongside KSI's defeat by Tommy Fury in Manchester. Paul dominated the first five rounds before Danis was disqualified in the final session for attempting to choke out his rival. Paul was declared the winner - but not by knock out as Drake had predicted. The rapper, who is seen as something of a curse given his poor gambling record, had staked $850,000 (£700,000) on Paul to win by stoppage and would have collected $1.3million (£1m) had he been successful.

The Drake's Curse.

He lost on the right man. We have experienced losses but not as bad as this...this is just terrible.

What do the gambling folks have to say about this?

I've experienced losing on this kind of bet, but not to the extent of the amount he lost. I don't find it surprising, though, as there are certainly bigger bets made on these particular games. Sometimes, we fall short in our predictions. We might be confident that a certain boxer will win, but we underestimate their opponent's strength. That's the nature of gambling; it's essentially a guessing game.

Most of my bets are probably on basketball, and similar to this, I often deal with spreads. For instance, when I bet on the favorite with a -9.5 spread, and they only win by 9 points, it can be quite frustrating. But as gamblers, we have to move on because we can't let our emotions derail our game plan.
674  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [BOXING]Adrien Broner vs Chris Howard (Welterweight) Nov 4. . on: October 17, 2023, 02:35:34 AM
There’s been a change in the schedule. The fight between Adrien Broner and Chris Howard, which was originally set for November 4th, has been moved to December 2nd. This fight is scheduled for 10 rounds in the Welterweight division.

I think Broner's ranking at 15 in the Welterweight division under WBC shows that he still has potential.

https://www.boxingscene.com/adrien-broner-vs-chris-howard-pushed-back-december-2--178511

There's only one reason why this fight was moved if I may speculate. I'm sure the promoters weren't able to meet his expectations in terms of ticket sales and anything else related to the fight's revenue. This isn't a very popular fight, although I must say that Broner is quite popular, but it's not a championship fight, so it's not expected to generate a lot of money.

Regarding this kind of fight, I'm not sure if it will proceed since it has already been moved. Worse, it might even be canceled, as it hasn't gained much attention from boxing enthusiasts. This could put Broner's finances in jeopardy, especially if the rumors about him living paycheck to paycheck in boxing are true.
675  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022–23 PBA Commissioner's Cup on: October 17, 2023, 02:14:38 AM
In terms of JBL, I also remember that PBA did allow Kiefer before, so maybe that will be the same case here. They might let it go and let JBL to perform for the fans who really love him more after taking home the gold.

The PBA can't afford not to have JBL, as he is the one who makes the Gin Kings better. Without him, the team would just be an ordinary one, even with Coach Tim Cone's brilliance in coaching. So, I'm not worried if he would be banned, as I'm positive he'll come back to play. The issue was just in the international game. I'm not sure if whatever sanction they impose on JBL would affect a privately owned league. I think it doesn't make sense if they connect that, as it's already beyond their jurisdiction to implement such sanctions.
676  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [BOXING]Adrien Broner vs Chris Howard (Welterweight) Nov 4. . on: October 16, 2023, 11:15:56 AM
Chris Howard has only fought once since 2016. Broner isn't going to challenge for a world title any time soon with those kind of opponents. The fact he's ranked in the top 15 with any sanctioning body has more to do with his name recognition than his quality as a fighter. "About Billions" is clearly desperate for money, that's why he had to resort to signing with Don King. We'll see if he actually goes through with this fight or if he ends up using the mental health issues excuse again and pulls out at the last minute.

Yes, he might really be in need of money right now, because he keeps on fighting bums and he is no longer close to that supposedly, "About Billions" persona of him. Specially when he was still very close to Floyd. I didn't know that he sign up with Don King though, but yeah in any case we all know how shady Don King is. But perhaps AB has no other options.

Maybe he is just getting chump change right now but he needs to survived and get that paycheck after paycheck. But I doubt that even if he won by a knockout or something spectacular, his name will be up for the championship belt again. He is old and way beyond his prime now.

Given his poor ranking, it would be hard for him to climb the ladder and become a mandatory challenger. I won't touch on his age, as that would be disrespectful; the fact that he is still fighting means he is still capable. However, I agree with you that age could be a factor, but, like I said, I won't judge him based on his age; I would only assess based on the outcome of the fight.
677  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: 16k DOLLARS LOSS IN JUST 1 YEAR on: October 16, 2023, 10:09:05 AM
There seems to be a problem with the way you handle yourself in what you are doing. You've admitted that you aren't experienced enough in trading, so how come you risk a large amount of money in it? Isn't it the right approach to start with a smaller amount and evaluate yourself first to see if you're ready to go big? It appears you might be playing with your money, if I may say. Trading is all about knowledge and experience, so starting with a significant capital for someone who isn't experienced enough is a bad move and is bound to lead to losses sooner or later.

I've also noticed that you're involved in different kinds of trades, which I think is another mistake. I mean, for a trader who isn't very knowledgeable, you should focus on simple trades only, like the classic 'buy low and sell high' technique. Once you've mastered that, then you can consider moving into something more complicated.
678  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: More secure ways og storing bitcoin? on: October 16, 2023, 07:08:51 AM
I think this article would answer that.

Why 92% of Institutional Investors Store Crypto on Exchanges

Quote
However, although things have improved since 2018 (the institutional crypto custody space now has well-renowned participants like Fidelity, Coinbase, and ICE’s Bakkt), a recent study conducted by Binance Research found that institutional investors don’t seem to be using these custody services; instead, 92% of the institutional investors that responded to Binance’s survey said that they prefer to keep their crypto exactly where most experts least recommend--on centralized exchanges.

As we can see, they place trust in major exchanges with the money entrusted to them. I can understand the reasoning behind this; an exchange that operates daily is more susceptible to hacking. The fact that they continue to operate reflects the effectiveness of their security measures. Additionally, I believe exchanges like Binance offer insurance on the funds deposited with them. In the event of a hack, which has occurred to Binance before, the SAFU fund, if I recall correctly, would come to the rescue.

For such a big company, I'm certain there's a significant impact on the market. It seems like we are now witnessing more significant news related to Bitcoin, and it appears to be gearing up for a new bull run. For us to have an idea on its potential impact on the market, as per... ; Market capitalization of Ferrari (RACE) it's marketcap as of October 2023 is $56.40 Billion. Just imagine the positive impact it will have on adoption.

Ehh, it's definitely good news but it'll be a 'meh' event in the grand scheme of things — for both bitcoin and Ferrari. Highly highly likely that the number of customers that will use BTC and not credit/debit will be less than 1% of customers.

You've got a point there, but at least we still have this kind of news, which could create a buzz in the market. You know, when you link Ferrari to Bitcoin, that sounds cool, as investors might associate Bitcoin with another success. But in reality, you are right; the market from Bitcoin users is probably limited. However, this could grow over time, and I'm hopeful.
680  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Is regulation of cryptocurrency exchanges essential for mass adoption? on: October 15, 2023, 06:41:44 AM
Absolutely, regulation is crucial for this market's survival. Without it, scammers would be running rampant, targeting investors who might be a bit too eager but not well-informed. We need some authority to keep these bad actors in check, to establish rules that maintain order in the market.

Even though it might not seem as attractive, especially since the early days of crypto were all about decentralization, it's inevitable that governments will step in. With such a massive amount of money circulating in the crypto world, government intervention is bound to happen sooner or later.
