661  Other / Meta / Re: [ETH] tag on: August 17, 2020, 01:44:00 PM
From my point of view if the admins implement the Ethereum symbol in the forum basically other alt hodlers will demand other cryptocurrencies such as Tether, Monero, Litecoin, Doge to be included to their symbols option when creating the post. Basically this would be an endless demand of altcoin users trying to add the altcoin they love to the forum which I don't think would be beneficial for the forum. If such symbols are added I don't think most of the newbies seeing the symbols would know instantly what crypto you are talking about and it could lead to a lot of misunderstanding just by using that symbol.
662  Economy / Economics / Re: Fixed amount vs. infinite coins on: August 17, 2020, 12:57:46 PM
I don't get your argument when you agreed that it is a "wealth storage" and it can quickly overcome to inflation yet if can't be a "payment" because it is volatile. For it being some kind of payment that people can actually use volatility isn't really an issue here since people can quickly sell the Bitcoin they receive as payment in order for their earnings not be subject to any kind of price movement as well as capital gains tax as you didn't hold it for price appreciation. For the consumer side it's really up to you on what you see in your crypto assets if it is worth to spend it on a purchase or not, it really depends on you.
663  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: 30 sec - 5 sec chart on: August 17, 2020, 10:23:40 AM
I have never seen any crypto exchange I have ever used that offers time ranges on charts less than 1 minute since most of them use tradingview i guess. The only choice you probably have so far is just pay for that pro version of Tradingview if you badly need that time range.

So if I pay for the pro version of trading view, will I be able to use it with any crypto exchange? Will I get charts that are 5 -30 sec?

I doubt paying a “pro version” of tradingview will give you shorter timeframes for their trading chart because in the first place tradingview'a price chart data are being retrieved from these exchanges if these crypto exchange don't have any 5 or 30 second price chart then they won't be able to retrieve it as the data don't exist not unless tradingview is the one making their data observing all the buy and sell orders as well as the volume which I highly doubt they are doing.
664  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Working online for bitcoin - would you give this up? on: August 16, 2020, 10:08:40 PM
Maybe I have not read the part about allowing the sytem/UI accessing our camera and I think this one is really a big concern for me yeah I got interested of earning a few dollars of not it being able to disturb my main activity but the camera to show proof that you are the ones working makes me insecure. I mean people who have experienced work from home due to the pandemic majority of them will say that they never have experienced their company asking for access in their cameras just to show proof that they are working, for them I think it is enough that their employees are delivering the work they are expected to do and it is good to go. If this is a way to avoid some kind of cheating in the system I believe this would be very hard for anyone to agree.
665  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2020-08-15] US Prosecutors Seize Bitcoin Allegedly Tied to AlQaeda, ISIS, Hamas on: August 16, 2020, 09:07:04 PM
“Al-Qaeda and affiliated terrorist groups have been operating a BTC money laundering network using Telegram channels and other social media platforms to solicit BTC donations to further their terrorist goals,” the complaint read. “As described below, al-Qaeda and affiliated terrorist groups operate a number of Telegram channels and purport to act as charities when, in fact, they are soliciting funds for the mujahadeen.”

When we look at blockchain analytics companies like Chainalysis I think it is important to know that when they are investigating or doing their own research it doesn't mean they only analyze transaction using blockchain but they also start from somewhere like what addresses are affiliated to these terrorists groups and go from there. With this quote the article provided it looks like they received a tip that these criminal organizations are using telegram to contact and transact with each other that's why they got a hit from it. They might not be that 100% accurate but I think what stands out in court is that you have a very good evidence linking that person to the terrorist group and I think the judge seen enough for it to happen.
666  Economy / Speculation / Re: Current Local Roadmap of Bitcoin on: August 15, 2020, 07:26:11 PM
It would be hard for us to go up above the 12,000$ zone especially if the volume is dropping already. See the push/price increase we had from 10k to 12k you will see that the volume isn't increasing which just shows that this isn't really a bull run or at leaat a strong one because the demand for Bitcoin isn't backing up the price increase. Which means that if we don't see the volume improving the next time Bitcoim tests th 12k level we might end up at the same result of it failing hoing up above it.
667  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: India considers another widespread ban on Bitcoin on: August 14, 2020, 08:31:20 PM
~snip~
And this is being challenge again, and it looks like they want to overturn the SC decision on favour of a ban or something that will make hard for bitcoin enthusiast in India. It's becoming some shit show because governments are somewhat very negative about crypto.

And yes it is really gloomy, we can only speculate as to why governments are making it difficult and not accept what the SC already said. Of course it is not moot and final, that's why we hear another round of possible laws in the parliament being debated, but it seems very little chance that crypto enthusiast will get the full support of the Indian government.

If this is true then its more of a power tripping to me rather than good governance. That decisiom of the SC was supposed to be the reason on clarifying the law and not about challenging someone's decision. It may be because some of them doesn't want to lose or the heads in their department still think that a crypto industry is something that will be bad for them. Either way an appeal to a supreme court decision is something that the SC will decide on so if they still stick to their original ruling then I doubt something bad will change to the crypto industry until this new law is something official.
668  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Never try any Wallet for freebies, Use only trusted Wallets on: August 12, 2020, 03:31:19 PM
Aside from crypto wallets offering free things for you to try them out there are also fake wallets that impersonate the official ones which is basically a phishing app trying to fool you. These fake wallets are available for download in both Google and Apple Store as they are barely screened by the companies and it is hard to watch out for them not unless you look at their reviews as well as feedbacks from other people. Always check the details of their app page to see if what you are downloading is the official one.
669  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Mike Tyson vs Roy Jones Junior [PPV on Nov. 28] on: August 12, 2020, 02:40:38 PM

I'm expecting this exhibition isn't just going to be the same as the other exhibition that we have seen like with those matches of Floyd. IMO, this is very far different from those exhibitions. I think Mike is going to bring all that he has for this match.

That latest floyd's exhibition boxing match with that Japanese fighter was just for kids to watch. I mean, what kind of match was that? it just looks like you are watching a Japanese game show. It didn't even get to round 6? I'ts obviously scripted judging how they fought with each other. it looks like the Japanese fighter was just a good actor. he better changes his career for his own good, maybe he can be an actor on sitcoms because he is the only fighter that looks so funny when fighting Floyd.

Let's not compare both matchup just because both are exhibition matches. Remember that Floyd Mayweather is just fighting for money and record that's why he fought McGregor as he was the perfect opportunity to earn more and guarantee a win. Mike Tyson vs. Roy Jones Jr. on the other hand doesn't really want anything of those but they want to show that they still have it even if they are 50 years old, they won't put any kind of fakeness into this fight as it will just ruin their career and reputation if they do so. I would expect them to be at their best when they will be facing each other.
670  Other / Meta / Re: WHAT HAPPEN AND NEED HELP on: August 12, 2020, 01:38:53 PM
I'm going with plagiarism, though it also might be due to ban evasion.

It's probably one or the other since the user had a lot of violations combined both in his first and other account I really think that the user has been banned from the forum because of the plagiarism he did and there is a chance that the first account was also banned for plagiarism. With both ban evasion as well as plagiarism taking place on several occasions I think that this is unappealable considering the standing of the user where he didn't contributed much to the forum.
671  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Donald Trump signs executive orders banning TikTok and WeChat on: August 12, 2020, 12:51:08 PM
From what I know Microsoft already bought TikTok's US market for 50 Billion dollars and that deal is the supposed solution for TikTok being banned in the US. They just confirmed it yesterday and that executive order is nothing now since the sale of their US market branch is now owned by a US company. Although they might not be operating right now as there will be various changes as well as inspections just to make sure that the new software/app of TikTok hasn't have any malicious software in it.
672  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can I use unconfirmed funds? on: August 12, 2020, 11:46:14 AM
As long as the funds is already reflecting in your wallet it is good to go. Usually most wallets won't even reflect the Bitcoin you have not until it has around 3 confirmations in the blockchain making it sure that the transaction itself will be irreversible for small type of transactions. But I wonder why you will be sending to another person the funds you have received. Are you some kind of middleman for a transaction or something?
673  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Trading without setting stop loss (Risky or Not)? on: August 12, 2020, 10:45:21 AM
Stop losses are your safety net just in case something goes bad with your trade so I think stop losses are considered to minimize losses. So yeah having trades without setting any kind of stop loss is riskier compared to having them. I myself even if I'm confident with my trade I set up a price where I have to offload my trade just to cut of my losses, its a good practice especially if you don't want holding crypto in your portfolio at a loss.
674  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2020-08-11] MicroStrategy Adopts Bitcoin as Primary Treasury Reserve Asset on: August 11, 2020, 11:00:35 PM
MicroStrategy is a tech-related company mainly providing platform as a service as well as software as service so I think that they are more aware of digital assets and its potential as compared to other industries who aren't related to tech. Maybe that is the reason why they invested so much on Bitcoin even though it went back up from 4,800$ and for what other traders consider a too late move to buy, this is really a risky move and I don't know why they did it exactly as they might be thinking that Bitcoin might be headed more compared to it's current value now.
675  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC has hit ATH against Turkish Lira on: August 11, 2020, 10:04:19 PM
Bitcoin rising up in Turkish Lira can only mean 2 things 1 is that people in Turkey are selling their fiat currency to buy Bitcoin as some kind of "safe haven" and the other one is that the Turkish Lira has devalued fast that's why we are seeing an ATH for their exchange but there is a great chance that this 2 things is the reason why it got up to that level.

Do you really think that a few exchanges with a few million in daily volume would be able to influence the trillions per day forex market?
The drop in value of the Turkish lira against BTC is the result of the devaluation of the lira against the USD, it's the result not the cause.

If we are talking about any kind of asset market the price movement of any asset rarely is contributed to one factor. For example the devaluation of Turkish Lira cannot be the only factor why Bitcoin has hit its all time high solely because of it, yes it contributed to it greatly but do you even think that it will rise up to that level if people are not exchanging their Turkish Lira for Bitcoin? Of course it won't, the price chart won't even move if there will be no buying and selling happening in the market.
676  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: IRS crypto tax audit letter / notice on: August 11, 2020, 08:58:49 PM
I don't think this kind of requirement is true coming from the IRS. If you think about there requirements you will feel like earning or starting your own business will be easier at this point with all the requirements you need to dig in for 2017 which for me will be impossible now if I'm a citizen in the US. I mean screenshots, text messages, tweets? Are this things even real? Since I don't think the IRS will scroll down and search even non-money related things all for documentations and requirements for your taxes. With this type of requirement it might be discouraging crypto hodlers more on filing their true crypto earnings rather than showing everything as the requirements will be too much for them just to file a report.
677  Other / Archival / Re: I am developing and designing an exchange and looking for some suggestions! on: August 11, 2020, 03:36:57 PM
Since this is some kind of learning experience for beginner traders I think it would be great if you add in some kind of forum style discussion page where people discuss their analysis on each trade they will be doing. By adding that I think users will not only learn from trading directly but also learn actual technical analysis from other members. Best example I can think of is what tradingview is doing in each cryptocurrencies where they talk about their own analysis on each pair. Here is an example for Bitcoin.
678  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Best way to avoid high transaction fee on: August 11, 2020, 02:22:52 PM
The most unpopular suggestion here will be off-chain transactions which I see as a good alternative since it is fast and free. The only downside on off-chain transactions is they are only available to custodial wallets like Coinbase and they require the other user to have the same custodial wallet as yours so that an off-chain transaction would be possible. Also if you are a newbie this is also good for you since you won't have to tick anything else in a setting as the custodial wallet itself would detect if that address if from theirs as well.
679  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2020 NBA Season on: August 11, 2020, 01:07:59 PM

Article was made April 15, 2020. After lockdown before NBA restart.
I don't know if something change the mind of those names who voted for them.
PS: I can only cut thru that part. Use the link for the full list.

With this results coming from staff  (former NBA players) we are seeing a glimpse of who might be winning the award. Remember that NBA awards are voted by a panel of sports writers and analyst and not all of them have played in the NBA so showing these kind of picks coming from staff of people working in the in the NBA media industry. And judging on where it stands I think Giannis is the one the media is favoring to win the MVP however all of this will change during the playoffs and if Giannis fails to perform I think they might shift their heads towards Lebron.
680  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Why do exchanges get away with faking trade volume? on: August 11, 2020, 12:02:56 PM
I do think you are talking about unlicensed exchanges here since they can easily get away with it without any authorities noticing it. For licensed and legally operating exchanges it will be harder for them to cheat and mislead their users as their data is always monitored by their country's SEC. I know that if they have produced fake volume on their exchanges they will be investigated right away since users will also report/complain about it. For unlicensed exchanges where they will barely have any customers will really get away with this since they aren't part of any surveillance like what a legal company is always is.

Centralized exchangers do really abide with some laws and regulations which the thing you said was actually right but they arent really that strict compared to forex/stocks
market which manipulation isnt really that too obvious but its surely there its surely does exist. The thing here on crypto is that it cant really be that  detected since
we do have huge volume plus having lots of coins that had been traded on where each user wont really bothering that much when it comes to an exchange liquidity
or volume.Back in the past where there are reports about wash trading which isnt really that surprising to happen into this market.

Having "huge volumes" in an exchange isn't really a factor here if it is this will make it easier for the authorities to track them down as faking larger volumes of traders will be make it easier for them to catch the manipulation going on. Take US for example a bunch of analysis companies are helping them like Chainalysis this company has help them a lot on not only tracking down criminals but also anomalies and discrepancies happening in registered exchanges. With crypto exchanges being more regulated I doubt that they can even do large scale of data manipulation knowing that they are always someone's  radar.
