661  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [PRE-ANN] || 💰 💰 DraftCoins - Portfolio Competitions- $10000 in PRIZES💰💰 || on: October 18, 2017, 11:41:08 PM
I must admit this is a kind of project I am seeing for the first time and I would appreciate an understanding of what its all about. Is it going to be a game? Are we all going to participate? How is the winner going to be determined? The winning prize, how is it going to come about? These are questions I would really want answers to because the OP is not explanatory enough to clear lots of this issues.
662  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: ELECTRONEUM ? on: October 18, 2017, 06:12:23 PM
i think it is a good investment and i bought 13.000 ETN (my referral link for 1% bonus, if u want to buy some is https://my.electroneum.com/join/F5D3E5)

i invested not much money, so i can afford to lose it all eventually. BUT i think the base idea is GREAT

I believe you know its against the forum rule to post referral link anywhere on the forum because its actually spamming. I hope you don't get booted for this.

Electroneum has done a lot in the area of publicity and the team is top notch. I see what they are proposing as a workable solution but that does not give a freehand that something cannot still go wrong even though the wish of everybody I'd for them to leave to expectations and not betray the trust that they have been able to garner.
663  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do you use BTC as a digital currency for paying online ? on: October 18, 2017, 10:16:02 AM
It was one on the issue Satoshi saw the world needed it. But as far now it mainly use is trading for speculation by the newbie and holding by one who bought it years ago.

Of course it needs to be legalised FIRST somewhere. But after that a, will you buy something online and pay in BTC ?
Or it’s just a form of investment like gold was a decade ago ?

We are not there at the point where everything you want to get can be facilitated by bitcoin but is a gradual process after all, fiat didn't get there after 10 years. However, I have seen some services made available using bitcoin for example recharging your phone directly, card services which makes you buy anything so far there is Visa or MasterCard acceptance, and above all ability to convert into fiat easily which is what mattered to me from there, I can then get anything I want to get with less stress.
664  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: How do you think, will states be able to regulate the crypto currency? on: October 18, 2017, 09:00:25 AM
How do you think, will states be able to regulate the crypto currency?

States does not need to regulate all users, all it needs to do is to regulate the service providers and those are the middle men. Just like the case of banks, government agencies does not deal with individuals but the moment they control those who made the transaction possible, then there is nothing they cant do. Just in the case of KYC for exchange sites, its from the state and the moment all this is circulated, there wont be an hiding place than to just do it if you still want to carry out less stress transactions.
665  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Wondering about Taxes and legal stuff in USA on: October 18, 2017, 08:16:24 AM
So lets suppose I invest and trade $250 in crypto and by this time next year I have $250,000. I sell it for fiat to my bank account. What sort of taxes would I have to pay and what other legal issues might I face to achieve this? This is based on the laws rights now. I'd like to hear from someone who has done this before.

I am equally waiting for a perfect answer from someone who is from the advance country like the United States because they serve as model for other countries to follow in the case of similar transactions. However, the treatment wont be different from the classes of items bitcoin will be categorised into. If in a country its is categorised as assets, then it will be treated as capital gains, if it is treated as investment, then withholding tax will suffice. Understanding the categorisation will go a long way in understanding what its exactly the treatment will look like.
666  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Russia starting ‘CryptoRuble’ !!!!!!!!!!!!!! on: October 18, 2017, 06:56:52 AM
Russia will issue its own ‘CryptoRuble’ decided in closed door meeting in Moscow, according to the local news sources. So, what is these so called 'cryptoRuble' ?  Does anybody have an idea? what about the other cryptos in Russia? Is it starting to follow China?

Whether its going to be successful or not, I still see it as a way to show those who believe that bitcoin does not have a basis forgetting the back bone of bitcoin itself which is the blockchain technology and for the Russian government to place reliance on something like this show some support indirectly for bitcoin and this alone is what is giving me joy although I see it as a quest which might be dumped soon because it won't be anything different from what the current fiat over there is achieving.
667  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Were can I find a truly valid bitcoin wallet client for Segwit2x fork? on: October 18, 2017, 06:12:07 AM
It would be more prudent not to make any transactions until everything is stable after the hard fork. We do not know for how long, but keep all your Bitcoins in a wallet for at least 1 month to be safe.

Rushing to dump B2X for maximum profit is a risk as all your transaction could be replayed in the original chain.

This is a great concern actually but now its not even sure that the fork will happen which I expect that the moment it is confirmed that its going to happen, the issue of replay of original chain would have been settled. Waiting one month before acting could mean a lot of loss for someone who is bent on making the maximum profit which is dependent largely on timing and if missed, it might be difficult to get it back.
668  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do you think we don't get quality Bitcoin users anymore? on: October 17, 2017, 08:49:53 PM
Maybe I'm wrong but I have the feeling that with Bitcoin price growth we have got a lot of new users who are not honesty and passionate interested in Bitcoin but only in fast, instant profit and if they don't get it they got disappointed and give up. Some of them don't even bother to get some basic knowledge about Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies in general. That is also the reason why we see so much panic selling when the price dumps. Is that only my feeling or do you think that also?

A lot of those users, we cannot do without them because in as much as what they are doing, they lose faith easily and dump, they are equally needed for the growth of the industry and not everyone who start out without such honesty ended being one. I for one was initially carried away by the news of the moment but after a lot of reading and understanding what bitcoin is really about, the mentality then changed which is what we can only hope for in the case of others.
669  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Worried about btc future on: October 17, 2017, 06:49:47 PM
I see a lot of optimism about bitcoin, which is understandable seeing the price recently.
But I have to admit I'm a little worried about the long term future of btc.
The major problems if the currency still haven't been dealt with. I see 2 major ones:

-Block size. Which makes the delay and fees of transaction rise very fast. Smaller transactions are more and more difficult to make.
-The centralization of the market. China got low cost electricity, which make them by far the most bitcoin mining capable.
-And maybe others that I'm not aware of.

Another thing: The Hard forks that are oddly getting much more frequent than before. (BCH, BTG, Segwitx2 etc...) It almost looks like "attacks" in order to divide us. Now called "airdrops" by the community. Even though they're supposed to solve some of the problems.

All in all, this makes me really worried about btc future. I've been a strong holder since 2014, and I made quite a lot of money with bitcoins, but I begin to doubt now, even though the price is crushing ATM. Please help me keeping faith. Or should I switch to another currency ? Really thinking about ETH recently.

Your concern are not even something that I see as challenges because those things are not just happening today. We have gone by the era of high fees when the noise was all over the place. We have also seen a situation of fork and nothing significant didn't happen rather bitcoin came out strong. What you should be concerned about are the challenges we have not seen yet which I sum up on verification.
670  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Being Manipulated on: October 17, 2017, 03:07:06 PM
Hello y'all, I recently noticed something about Bitcoin, it seems that the countries that have more users of the crypto are manipulating the currency behind the scene. Forget the issue of it being demand and supply. Take a look at when China brought up a regulation on bitcoin in the country, the price of bitcoin dropped rapidly, so that the rich elites can buy much of the currency during that period since the price is now lower.

This is what am guessing though and I shouldn't be criticised since we're in a free world in which nothing is free. Grin Grin Grin

Just thinking aloud, since you know all this, why didn't you also buy in into the dip since the information of the dip is for everybody and not that its applicable to only some people to see before it then circulate to the general populace. Sometimes, I wonder how we see opportunities right in front of us decide to avoid it and then come about saying some people behind the scene. Are you in front of the scene?
671  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Gold will be another Bitcoin Cash? on: October 17, 2017, 02:17:26 PM
Many people tells BTG will become another failure. What is the base in this? Can this be true?

It will be unfair to say BCH is a failure at this time because the end is not yet here for it. Its true that it had suffered some downturn and even currently but beyond that, its also a coin that is prone to up and downs rampant in the crypto industry. For me, I wont say its a failure yet until a lot of exchange sites that provides support or currently providing support, stops and start delisting the coin. For BCG, no one knows for sure if its even going to come around but at the same time its an alt.

673  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Exchange Bittrex began to block accounts!!! on: October 17, 2017, 11:42:06 AM
Hello everybody!
I just found out that the exchange has started to block accounts!
Without explaning the reason!

What I expect is that users should be allowed to withdraw their funds if they decide not to continue with Bittrex but what I am seeing is that, you are not even allowed to make any withdrawal by virtue of not verifying which means depending on the amount you have there, its either you forget about it or verify. If you then verify to withdraw, then there is no other basis than to continue the use of the their services, But this is a big set back in the crypto-currency world.
674  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: affected by bitcoin Copy paste viruses on: October 17, 2017, 08:45:13 AM
Suddenly i notice that my pc is affected by bitcoin copy paste virus! When i copy my btc address it paste another address. Please give me any solution if you known. Feeling very risky for this virus! Shocked Shocked

I am happy for you that you are seeing it before you made the transaction. I have read about several cases like this and someone close to me lost about 1btc because of this scheme where the money will go to another address and the party that sent coins will be expecting confirmation from the recipient while the recipient will be expecting that the amount should have been sent already. That is why I am always cross checking the address I am sending into even if its to my own other wallets or someone I know to randomly check the numbers and alphabets against the one copied before sending the coins. Its very key at this time for one to always be extra careful.
675  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: job and trading together.. on: October 17, 2017, 08:10:28 AM
I think I can earn limited amount of money every month. I want to invest my money in trading. How can I get a good
a good amount profit every month??How I research the market? How to find out the good coin to invest? Thanks in advance ....

This is the most simplest thing you can think of at this time because you have made your way to the section of the forum that is dedicated for such so all you need is to take one thread after the other and start digesting it even up to 36 pages and I am sure before you get to the 5th thread you would have been loaded with enough information to know the next time to take while the whole of the question you asked for, answers to them would have surfaced even beyond your imagination.
676  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: What technical indicators do you use for trading cryptocurrency? on: October 16, 2017, 09:35:45 PM
To all the master traders, top winners, and geniuses, please share your top technical indicators for trading cryptocurrency, which is the best?

When it come to technical analysis I really don't dwell much on it as most times depending on the exchange site one is using, the analysis is already done. All I do is to decide whether I want to go with such analysis or use my own guts to determine the best course of action. Whether technical or not, what I hold dear is me being responsible for my own decision and be ready to face whatever outcome that arise as a result of such action.
677  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Confused about upcoming Bitcoin fork on: October 16, 2017, 07:24:55 PM
To get free Bitcoin "gold", one just need to keep Bitcoins in exchange? Like for exemple did Kraken.com last time give Bitcoin Cash to all those who had Bitcoins? Relatively new in this world so don't know what happened in last fork. Or one need to keep them in particular bitcoin wallet to get free gold?

Fortunately or unfortunately, it does not seems there is going to be any fork so bothering or getting confused about it should not be a subject of discussion because less than 10 days to the day of the fork, no solid information yet on how to go about it. If it turn out that more information is coming out, we will all see as the forum is somewhere to get it. Rather than bothering yourself about that, its better to start aggregating the bitcoin in a wallet that there is absolute control without any compromise.
678  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Financial Crisis and Safe Havens on: October 16, 2017, 06:09:36 PM
The way the financial system is more complicated than just assuming based on past result there is a basis for the future. Before any financial crisis that is to happen, there is always a boom just like the 2008 you made reference to but to the best of my reading, I have not seen any boom to further solidify your argument of any potential crash happening next year. On the issue of diversification, there is need for adequate understanding of the current phenomena rather than relying on historical figures.
679  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Scams & ponzi schemes? on: October 16, 2017, 08:41:59 AM
Wealth transference from the older generation is happening as the Baby Boomers generation fades gracefully. The younger kids are far more tech savvy and have witnessed so much tech disruption that they are looking for “The Next Big Thing”. This wealth transference is already finding it’s way into Bitcoin and other areas that previously would have been overlooked by less tech savvy, high net worth individuals.

The other thing that the younger generation has, is time. They have the time to educate themselves on crypto. Open accounts. Monitor trades and chat rooms and be part of the ecosystem and learn about new opportunities before those who are settled and on the road to retirement. By investing the time and energy to absorb themselves in this space, they immediately have an edge and will trade the markets in a far more agile and profitable way.

Every generation will have its own working model some will work some will turn out as scam. Several generations have passed with different models. We have seen the era of oil, machines, gold, war, commodities among others. While some were able to live to the next generation, others couldn't surpassed the generation that invent them. Its no doubt the current generation quest for knowledge is something so alarming but at the same time its what its being optimistic to live to the next generation.
680  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Bitcoin or altcoin, which is better to invest into now? on: October 16, 2017, 04:57:16 AM
I would still pick altcoin over bitcoin when it comes to investment at this time because the rate of returns in the case of an alt when could be higher than that of bitcoin in a matter of hours or days much more than the expected price of bitcoin even after the fork. But while bitcoin is straight forward to bring return, it might not be so for altcoins because of the several factors one must consider before dedicating resources into it, if not, it could be worse than putting money in HYIP.
