^  Yup, sucks.  Lol.  And I just wanna win some free bets here and there to make long shot degen parlays with them.  Grin  Won't use my own money betting them and I don't really care about the 100 correct predictions prize.  But I do want to win the 10k jackpot for getting 7 picks right...  I know what memecoins I'm gonna ape into if I get lucky for a free 10k.  Ticker BITCOIN and SPX6900.  They could be the SHIB of the next bull market.  PEPE should've been it but they fked up and wasted a perfectly good first mover advantage.

Anyway...  Kinda got distracted there talking about memecoins.  :/

^  Might be good to check all the odds for Verstappen this season and see the results if somebody bet 100 bucks on him at every race.  Pretty sure the books also figured something out and juiced these lines so much that it becomes -EV and a slightly losing proposition if you bet on him in all races this season.  I mean if you really could come in ahead with 10 bucks per 100 then the books would def be leaking money there...  I don't think they would allow it.

^  If they're tired then prolly just choose the best goal scorers per club as they're more likely to score a goal at current conditions..?  Another thing could be to choose the so so goal scorers as they prolly didn't play during the international break and will be coming into these matches fresh and rested.  :/

I went with the former.  Lol.  So my picks are Salah, Haaland, Hwang, Saka, Fernandes, Watkins and Son.

So anyway, guys!  The early kick off match starts now so it's ok to share your picks.  Noticed nobody shows their picks as much as they used to.
685  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC Sentiment Poll for October on: October 20, 2023, 01:02:13 PM
^  Not sure about 28k being meaningless if it's going to need to hold as solid support for the next break out above 30k.  And it looks like BTC got up there really fast to test it.  Lol.  I guess we'll be needing some good news to get above it and the fake ones just won't cut it anymore.  Cheesy  We need the real ones now.

All in all, fake news or real news it's looks pretty good imho.  Just some resistance at 30k but it's not a surprise...  Stay safe out there guys.

~
Did Adesanya really say himself he won't be fighting for a long time? I can't find anything like that in any news feed.
He's 34 and not getting any younger. Taking a long break would probably not do him much good. But it's his decision to make.

Yes he said he is going to take a long break from fighting, he was active as a champion and he has two loses in 3 fights and that might have motivated him to take a break from fighting, Adesanya announced this through his twitter page

That's prolly gonna be good for him..  He already made a lot of money anyway, so no need to rush back into the cage.  He's one of the greatest 185'ers and he has nothing more to prove.  And what it also does is open up the weight class for newer, younger, hungrier fighters to go at it.  So it's good for 185 overall.

Anyway, does anybody have some updates on Usman's knee?  Seems like nobody is talking about it anymore.

Huh wat?

Everybody want to stop seeing Stroll on F1, i hope next year he is not more between the 20 drivers of the grid, he have so many chances to show us and the world how good he is, and he never sho anything good, the only one time when he show some quality was in that Turkish Gp.

I kinda feel for the guy.  He's a poor little rich boy, prolly being pressured by his dad to excel in something.  But even with all the support and all the money being poured on him to give him some sort of advantage, he still turned out to be a mediocre driver.  Alonso out performed him this season and I think Vettel did the some in the season prior...  :/

He prolly should just quit and just be a regular guy, getting drunk and go out with girls.  It's getting pretty clear that he's not happy with F1 anymore.

Then again, I'd like him to stay for the lulz...  Esp after losing Latifi.  Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy

^  And why didn't you come out with this piece of news earlier before I made my picks in the Multi Master, hmmm?  Cheesy

But seriously tho, that sucks.  And as one guy said in the comments, if Usman's knee blew up in a light work out then he wouldn't have done well vs Chimaev in the cage.  Man...  Now watching Chim vs Usman would def suck now.  It reminds me of the open work out Cain Velasquez did before his match vs Ngannou.  We saw how that ended.

I guess the bet is gonna be if Usman gets out of R1..?

Edit:  After watching the vid a couple more times, it doesn't really show Usman blowing up his knee.  The Cain Velasquez one was clear as night and day.  The Usman one, not so much...  We'll see what's up in a couple of days.

^  Nice...  I think I won a free bet myself...  But that might be in the Multi Master.  Lol.  I'm trying to win a free bet in Superbru tho...  But it's hard.  Didn't realize F1 pools are way harder than football pools.  Cheesy

^  Lol.  I man Verstappen could 'slow down' his ambition but he'll end up still winning because he has the best car and prolly he's the best driver this season.  He's miles ahead of the driver he was 4 years ago.  Still too aggro at some spots but more controlled and a tad below reckless.  Grin  But you know it's still there in his back pocket if given a good challenge.  Most drivers would prolly fold against Verstappen's aggressive nature except Hamilton and possibly Alonso.

I like this new format a lot better.  There's more stuff to think about and it's not just about who gets to post 'Verstappen, Verstappen, Verstappen, 10 secs' in the thread the fastest.  Cheesy

Yeah when you get on a roll like that then it's all about breaking records, so the only "danger" is he tries too hard and makes a mistake but with all the others around him making mistakes instead it's a bad bet to go against him.

I like the new format too, gives late entries a fairer chance Wink

Watch out for Brazil!!

Betting wise I would never make a bet for him at the lines the books are giving him for.  They have Verstappen at 1.23 to win the US GP.  Lol.  No thank you...  And it's funny because I think betting on a 5 to 1 underdog for Tim Elliott in UFC 294 holds less risk than betting on Verstappen at 1.23 who's supposed to have the race in the bag.  You just never know in F1.  :/

Track:  Circuit of the Americas, Austin Texas, USA

And I think it's high time the books allow the same event parlays for F1.

This is a great track for a sprint race.
Just ban Verstappen and it will be a great weekend to watch

That or the other teams should pick up the slack and actually make their car faster.  They pay millions on engineers ffs.  Can't they just give the fans a competitive car?  It's not Red Bull and Newey's fault that they're doing a good job in designing a fast car.  And isn't making a great, fast car the whole point of F1?

I mean yeah, Alpha Romeo, Haas and the smaller teams prolly should be given a break and we shouldn't expect too much.  But Ferrari and Mercedes?  No excuse.

I agree,it is not the fault of a great driver who has refused better teams and stayed at Redbull even when Redbull was not at all dominating the Championship,I give credit to him for the loyalty given to Redbull which has been rewarded with 3 consecutive World Titles.I liked him when he said after winning his first title via radio "Let's do this for another ten years together" which again showed great belief in the team.

I also agree with the fact that Ferrari and Mercedes has absolutely no excuses when it comes to their budget and I would also add one of the oldest and successful teams of F1 history which they hold the fastest ever world record pit stop,McLaren also has no excuses.

Yup, def McLaren should be in that list of teams that should start picking up the slack.  They're making the sport boring for the fans by not finding ways to get up to speed in car development as Red Bull.  And the funny thing is, the fans of the other teams itt blame the FIA, blame Red Bull instead of blaming their own team for not doing a good job.

And, yeah I like Red Bull and Verstappen, Vettel, Horner, Newey, Ricciardo, etc, etc...  But if they suck, you see me laugh about it too.  So to everybody, just lighten up and don't get too wound up about it.
693  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🥊 The UFC Info and Prediction Thread on: October 19, 2023, 12:05:37 PM

No worries mate. I doubt the winner of Chimaev and Usman gets its title shot next. Both aren't in the top 5 of the middleweight rankings and the winner might not also get a top 5 ranking. Dricus du Plessis deserves a title shot but it seems that Adesanya might get another privilege for an immediate rematch once again. But I do hope Adesanya gets a tune-up first and then he fights the winner of Strickland-Dricus. Nonetheless, Chimaev who's expected to win against Usman needs a win against a top 5 opponent first to earn his shot at the title.

I also felt like Dana likes Colby. But what is weird though is letting him become inactive long enough. So I won't be surprised if somehow Edwards will pull an upset over Colby. But prime for prime, Colby should beat Edwards.

Winner will fight Sean, it was already said above shared by YuginKadoya about this link https://www.forbes.com/sites/trentreinsmith/2023/10/17/ufc-294-winner-of-usman-vs-chimaev-gets-title-shot/

Colby is already in the top 5 and is waiting for a title shot but it's not possible to fight Usman and if it is for the 3rd time, it would be a disastrous end again. He waited for a new champ who turned out to be Edwards. If Kamaru earned back his belt, Colby would not have a chance of a title shot, he was beaten up by Usman twice already.

Sean Strickland next eh..?  There's a possibility that the UFC could be disappointed with their build up for Chimaev.  Lol.  Usman is no slouch.  If it were not for the lucky head kick from Leon Edwards, I don't think any book would line him up as this huge of an underdog.  Don't write him off this early imho.  He's training back with Henri Hooft and he'll also get Trevor Whitman in his corner at the same time.  He's a D1 wrestler, has the KO power and has beaten some some of the better guys in the UFC.

I mean sure Chim should be the favorite as Usman is taking this on short notice.  But for the line they're giving Chim, do you guys think he'll give Usman a total beating?  I don't think so.

694  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC Sentiment Poll for October on: October 18, 2023, 12:37:12 PM
I'm a little confident that bitcoin might be touching the $30k level as the market sentiments are more than 60% bullish. I guess that should be enough to push bitcoin price a little higher than what we have currently at $28k. Plus, bitcoin have lowkey gained momentum since Sep until Oct it gained more than a thousand dollars in a 1 month time frame. I thought it's going to become worst than the August to September run, since bitcoin started dropping in June. This little momentum right here is telling is something that we're gonna start seeing a rise gradually until the next bitcoin halving. So yeah I'd give a little faith on the $30k mark at the end of October though we only have like 2 weeks max until November.

Yup, judging from the price action rn, BTC could be on its way in there.  And all the fake news talk, I dunno...  As long as there's a break out through 28k resistance and it stays above it, then that's all that matters.  We shouldn't really care the reasons for the move as we're just here to make a trade and make a little bit of money out of it.  And if the trade goes against us due to again whatever reason, we exit at a small loss.

I mean look at it.  It's a clean break above 28k.

Lol.  I think Volk is gon a get finished in the match.  Everything is lining up for him to get mauled or submitted...  As said, he's fighting on short notice, Khabib is gonna be in Makhachev's corner and he just had surgery on his right hand.  :/

And I wonder how much money is the UFC paying him.  In this episode of Embedded, Volk was talking about his family and that he needed to set them up for life.  Seems to me like he's going in there to get paid, not to win.

Race Week finally. F1 will be at Austion again for USA grand prix, still feels weird to call it USA grand prix because it was the only one for a while, yet they have 2 more now, with Las Vegas and Miami as well, so this should be like Texa GP or something, which would be fun to call it that to be fair, Texas is known by a lot of people all around the world. In any case, usually they call it the city name, not the state, it's not Nevada GP, it's Las Vegas GP, and it's not Florida GP, it's Miami GP.

Maybe that's because the recognition is bigger but they can't have 2 city names and 1 state name, that could be weird, or they can just do whatever they want they are a company. At this point, there is nothing to talk about the race itself, the winners are known, the rest of it would be regarding who will be second team and third team etc, it is going to be quite boring because it looks like there aren't anyone dominating the second position and it is all getting boring to see less overtakes.

The US is almost a whole continent if not for Canada.  So if you include Canada, there's actually 4 GP's in North America.  And if you think about it, they could have a whole football league with different tiers just like the system the European leagues have when they promote and relegate football clubs.  But they could do it three times over.  That's how huge the US is.

Anyway here's the schedule...

2023 US GP Schedule
Track:  Circuit of the Americas, Austin Texas, USA

Oct 20, Friday:  Practice 1  12:30 - 13:30
Oct 20, Friday:  Qualifying 16:00 - 17:00
Oct 21, Saturday:  Sprint Shoot Out 12:30 - 13:15
Oct 21, Saturday:  Sprint  17:00 - 18:00
Oct 22, Sunday:  Race  14:00

And I think it's high time the books allow the same event parlays for F1.

I wonder what Embedded will be like.  You guys think Khabib will be around?  He wasn't around for the first match vs Volk.

I have followed Khabib and Islam social media accounts and it looked they are not way near right now. I am sure that Islam will be with AKA gym guys only in his corner, with the one who helped him to train. Of course Khabib gave him a lot of support during calls, but I dont think he would be around. Because he trust Islam and in 100% sure in him. When Islams opponent was changed, Khabib and Islams team did not care much. Khabib simply told - "Islam is a champ, he must be ready for everyone. If King Kong fits in 170lb, bring him in" Cheesy

Uh nope...  Khabib is def in Makhachev's camp and will def be in his corner.  It's in Embedded.  And get this, they're already in the United Arab Emirates.  Wink

And I'm hearing some talks swirling around that Volk just had a surgery done on his right hand which could mean that he hasn't been training as much and being in shape before he got the call from the UFC.  He was prolly offered a lot of money to take the fight and save the event.  :/  Now I'm thinking it could be an easier match up for Khabib's protege.
700  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC Sentiment Poll for October on: October 16, 2023, 12:39:40 PM
I did a $25K breakdown vote. I chose this based on recent events that have occurred in the world. FTX case, War, Energy and food crisis in several European countries. Plus BTC is still not able to penetrate the 30K area. Meanwhile, because the situation in several countries was still heating up due to war, many countries and banks began to invest their funds in gold. Gold is still the favorite and could possibly disrupt BTC/Crypto's cap. Coupled with oil which might be monopolized by oil producing countries due to the war needs of their trading alliance countries, there could be more money flowing there than to BTC. This is just my bad opinion, but I still believe there will be a massive price increase soon before the halving and after the halving.

Oh there you are.  Cheesy  I was wondering who it was...  Thanks for the honest sentiment.  That's a breath of fresh air in these parts.  Smiley

Anyway, I just locked the poll as per tradition in my sentiment threads to lock the poll at the middle of the month to know the real sentiment and not just for people to vote as to how the price is doing at the end of the month.

And we're having a nice move rn but it seems like it's hitting resistance stopping just a tad below 28k.  But let's see how it goes this week.
