We are all on "borrowed time" pretty much when it comes to mining. Our only catch at success is to sell ZEC, buy BTC and keep it and hope SEC approves the ETF and bitcoin goes to $10,000/coin.

You say that because you want to grab all the coins at a lower price because near this month zec price will go very high!

Maybe ETH or ETC, but not ZEC.

ZEC will not go very high because every month there is a large percentage of supply entering the market.

The price is at all time lows...but the market cap is at all time highs. All because of the daily supply of 7,200 ZEC coins.

So price will keep going down? Is it better to just sell. I made ~ $180 for the month of Jan and now I sit $190 for 12 days. I basically been mining to keep up with price drop.

Nop, claymore release will pump the coin. By the end of this month, zec will be in the range of 50$-75$

You really don't understand how mining works do you?

You really know all the markets react with news? good news pump, bad news dump! Are we expecting bad or good news?

id say don't know because of the jerk running the US right now ... so wait .... Id say bad news a lot of shit is about hit the Fan bad or good won't know till it does ... but to answer yes news plays big part in coin prices so Ive noticed.also bad news coming form the US can jack up prices or good news , even noticed the same with china, mostly with US and china's  news...

I hope they follow the Rules they have until march 11 th but with this Administration you have no idea what gonna happen next will it be lawful or not, help or hurt sigh ... they could extend because they don't care and figure they can do what pleases them ... so lets hope they follow rules ...
682  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: AMD Radeon 17.1.2 on: February 13, 2017, 09:13:59 AM
hi
Anyone has checked AMD latest driver 17.1.2 yet?
I wonder if the BIOS Signature check is still enabled in this version or not.
If it is disabled it means that modded bios will work with this version.
thanks

I'm using it with a moded bois you have to disable the checking before you install the drivers follow this guide if want to use AMD driver 17.1.2 with a modded bios , I have no issue all at with it but then again I all most never have problem with any AMD drivers ..

here is the guide :

Ok, after googling how tos I didn't came up with anything informative, can you please tell me a bit more ?  ^^^^^^^

asder00's workaround

and the AMD/ATI Pixel Clock Patcher  was last update on the 25 of Dec 2016 so make sure to get that one you may hit a link to 1.43 that was updated a while back .... make sure to get 1.44 or you may have Issue, if at first you do have issue do a clean install if that doesn't work , Id stay with what drivers do . or may you have issue either way with a modded or non modded bios .. test it all ...

Anyone know if with these drivers if a GPU crashes, can the miner be restarted or does the computer freeze like with 16.xx.x drivers?

Everything works for me no restart crashes , no PC Freeze at first i had some and had  to do a clean install on all my rigs with modded bios or not, after that it works great...I have four rigs ..

684  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Antminer L3 - 250mh - 400watt Scrypt miner coming soon on: February 13, 2017, 03:37:26 AM
Well it looks like we have leaked photos and prices on the internet for the next miner to be released by Bitmain.  The Antminer L3, 250mhs scrypt miner, 400watts at the wall.

Looks like Alibaba and some of the alternate channels are pricing it around $2300, which probably means a price near $1800-1900 directly from Bitmain. Just my guess.  Looks like things are about to heat up in the Scrypt mining world.

This is good news. I hope they don't stop selling them like last time Bitmain put out a Scrypt ASIC Miner.

YUP like QuintLeo said they never sold the L1 , but may have made it but never sold it to the public if they did , I still wonder on that one ...I want one of these but the price tag is to much so im gonna buy one of the A4 136 MH in a few month once i pay off a few more bills sense i do it as a hobby i can't see me wasting 2300 on a miner, 1300 is to much, which is what the A4 will cost me but I'm not willing to pay 2300 for a hobby ..if it was a Farm, i would.
685  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [Minera v0.7.0] Your next mining dashboard - Networked/CPUminer/CGminer/BFGminer on: February 13, 2017, 03:06:12 AM
Minera runs fine on raspi PIXEL pc, great !

hello, how it will look for cgminer or bfgminer in comand line for two device zeus
--scrypt --zeus-chips 64 --zeus-clock 238 --scan-serial /dev/ttyUSB0 \--zeus-options--zeus-chips 180 --zeus-clock 270     --scan-serial /dev/ttyUSB1

this truy but dont work Sad

if i Select guided the options to launch the miner command the device found but clock and chip wrong

this in log file
 Started cgminer 4.3.5-scrypt.2
 Loaded configuration file /var/www/minera/conf/miner_conf.json
ZUS0 opened on 1:19
ZUS1 opened on 1:20

- From a long time ago -  i got the same troubles and turned out the raspi will assign random device address every time.

some more info can be found here and here

Maybe something more a long these lines

for BFG , i don't use CGminer for Script miners ..

Code:
 --scrypt -S zus:all --set zus:chips=x --set zus:clock=x --set zus:chips=x --set zus:clock=x

if you use the guided set up you only need to use

Code:
 --set zus:chips=x --set zus:clock=x --set zus:chips=x --set zus:clock=x

you don't need to use to use

Code:
--scan-serial /dev/ttyUSB0
or
Code:
--scan-serial /dev/ttyUSB1

anymore .. just the Chip set and clock for each miner and it should work according to that setting for that miner and try to use a Self powered hub ,  i use one PI per device its seems to work better that way you won't need a hub if you do ,

and those clock and chip set setting for ZEUS look wrong by that i mean to high or to low  which Zeus miners is it

Ive found with BFG setting Zeus miners at defaults works best they actually hash better then trying to over clock them ..under clock is ok but if you power is not cheap or what some call free ( to me nothing is free some one pays it ) . it's not worth it they hash to low or worse  ...
686  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Gateless Gate: zawawa's open-source ZEC/ETH/XMR/PASC miner (453 sol/s on 7990) on: February 13, 2017, 02:53:14 AM
Ethereum mining works fine but its way slower then other ethereum miners as Claymore or genoil. On RX instead of 29mh i got 25.3mh, on r9 380 is worse proportion.

for me :
sgminer or gateless 161 MH and 960 W
claymore eth miner 166 MH and 1200 W

4 x rx470 and 2 x r9 fury

I get about the same with ETH mining if i mod the bios ...

I hope to see gate less match CM for Zec mining it's close or getting close ...
687  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Gateless Gate: zawawa's open-source ZEC/ETH/XMR/PASC miner (453 sol/s on 7990) on: February 10, 2017, 12:56:49 AM
Don't get me wrong. I truly admire Claymore's coding skills. To be very honest, I am rarely impressed by other programmers, but he is definitely top notch.

All I am saying is that he studies his competitions, be it potential or actual, and he studies them really well. This is not an automatic assumption but an educated, informed observation of his work as a long-time user. Also, it is often the case that different developers come up with different ideas for optimizations, so we are constantly learning from each other.

Anyway, all this talk is meaningless if I cannot come up with a faster miner than Claymore's. We shall see very, very soon.

I hope you can at least match it , either way to keep you at it, i plan to keep donating like i said in a PM Smiley . for a while ....
688  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [Awesome Miner]- Powerful Windows GUI to manage and monitor up to 5000 miners on: February 06, 2017, 01:19:04 AM
Hey man can you add the Pascal coin so awesome miner picks it up better with gatelessgate aka Sgminer with out using the check box to add the pascal.conf ....

IF i try to use the same setting  though AWESOME the PC locks up but if use the my custom conf like above it works great with awesome .

I got it kind of adding to the

Specify Kerrel as pascal when I make the Pool .. it seems to work that way .. Smiley ..
I've not really had time to look at Gateless Gate mining software yet, and how it differs from sgminer. What are the differences in configuration in order to mine pascal coin compared to any other sgminer supported algorithm? I understand that you run Gateless Gate software instead of sgminer, but what changes in command line or configuration file is relevant?

My bad sorry not much difference between the two other then gateless broke the speed barrier so to speak then it was added to sgminer.  gateless is a fork of sgminer. . i guess i asked wrong because there is no pascal coin support and the only way i got it working with either gateless or sgminer. was adding in the pascal Kerrel the two ways i said or i get some strange side affects ..I meant to say awesome doesn't know what to add with coins it doesn't support even if the software miner does .other wise gateless works fine using it as sgminer-gm or sgminer 5.5 it was more for the coin so the right kernel is loaded by awesome..for either Gateless Gate or sgminer. i think the reason zawawa added his version of Silent army was so it was more compatible with every thing, Plus all the nice little goodies he doesn't have to add to his version of SA .. gate less was more made for ZEC mining with windows at first or added Silent ARMY Miner windows support better then any miner at the time other then CM then zawawa improved it more and still is ...

your right i should have said what i meant .. unless Pascal is there and i can't find it, can it be added to the coin list so awesome loads the right kernel as needed sense awesome all ready supports the soft ware  miners that support the coin  .

what changes in command line or configuration file is relevant? NO change command line other then awesome loading the right algorithm , if the miner all ready has support for that algorithm and awesome supports the miner but like i said above i think it's just a matter of it being on the coin list if the miner is all ready there .. yea i asked wrong and tend to do that a lot, my bad .

Hey michelem,

when using bfgminer via minere sd, I often get the following nessage:
1) "all pools are dead' while still producing!

In fact, I just restarted that miner without rebooting and pool is alive!

Is message (1) fake at this point and how to prevent this in command line?

Use this
Code:
/#xnsub#skipcbcheck
or
Code:
/#skipcbcheck
should fix it with BFG ...does for me

after the port like this :
Code:
stratum+tcp://yourpool:port/#xnsub#skipcbcheck

or

Code:
stratum+tcp://yourpool:port/#skipcbcheck

Thanx for answers i will look for cut down A2, as it has best efficency.

I as about to say if you were gonna do that last week there were some A4 136 MH going for 900 on Ebay not any more Sad.

694  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Scrypt Miners! on: January 29, 2017, 11:04:27 PM
What are some lower hash rate models for scrypt algo. Besides A4, L3 and titans.  Was there a 30/60 MHash/s A2?

Thanx!

A2 "official" models were the 88 Mh/s and the 110 Mh/s - both rock solid except for the "original" 1100 watt PS being very marginal at best for the 110 Mhs models.
The Seasonic X1250 Gold (and presumably the X1200 Platinum) is a VERY good replacement for a 110 with a dead PS, it fits nearly perfectly in place of the original PS and has plenty of power capasity.
 I have 1 of the 88 and 4 of the 110.

There were 30 and 60 Mh/s A2 models, none of them were official from Innosilicon as I recall but appear to have been "cut down" from A2 88Mhs models presuming using spare controller interface boards from Innosilicon and usually in a custom case.

There was also the "Farm Boy" model that WAS official from Innosilicon, but I do not remember the details on that one.
Efficiency would be the same as the A2 as it used A2 chips.

There was the Alcheminer, but that was 250 MH/s at near identical to A2 efficiency - there were also "OEM label" versions like the MAT of that one.

Anything else that was lower hashrate than the 2 "main" A2 models was quite a bit lower efficiency than the A2 and is likely unprofitable unless you have VERY VERY cheap electric.

Gridseeds are NOT profitable any more even at 3c/KWH electric - I've got some of those and did the calculation last week.
They ALL used the same GC3355 chip, just different board configurations and similar efficiencies.

Those A 2 were called farm boys, it  is three 33 MH A2  your right it was Innosilicon made my bad, it's not hard to make one, some one is Selling working PCB A2 boards on ebay, i forget the price . and claimed he has parts to make one . he based in Russia ....'

I also have a working Alcheminer ruining five boards with the firm ware fix ....using BFG ...with a custom controller.

The Alcheminer ran about the same as the A2 with more hash per board/blade. I mean is one Alcheminer blade does what two A2 blades do with about the same power usage ..to bad the Alcheminer 2 never happen it would have matched the L3 or close but the company went bankrupt after MAT miners ripped off a lot of people ..

gridseed had a 25Mh/s miner

the gridseed g-black.

but can't seem to locate one... i've got one sitting on my shelf.
around 400 watts i think

I've got one  with a bad blade, and on Ebay a few weeks ago some one wanted 90 bucks for a full blade it was temping to buy but i didn't .

I hope hes able to keep support for windows boxes id rather use windows for GPU mining unless someone has come up with a way to use PI then I would  welcome Linux over windows any day ... but for Now please keep windows support more use windows then most think or know ...for GPU mining , I'll be honest i can set it up (a Linux box but but it's to limiting for me )..and don't notice much difference in speeds .. to make it worth the hassle .. i do test it from time to time ...I hate using Linux desk tops , and use the server version if I use Linux... and i have a copy of the ethos os and a copy of the pimp.

PS please above all don't Assume because you may use Linux and like it more , that other do and will...
