701  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: If you quit that's when you lose! on: July 24, 2023, 03:25:06 PM
A catchy one-liner might be somewhat encouraging when you are feeling depressed over your losses but it is not foolproof logic. Not quitting won't make you impervious to losing. Instead, you might actually end up with even bigger losses. Walking away is always difficult because you never know what would have happened if you continued playing but at least you can leave with something instead of nothing.
This is part of a healthy mindset where we don't have to continue playing when our gambling budget has run out, that's why it is necessary to have thoughts like this sentence, we will never know what will happen if we continue to play and are provoked by emotions that make our self condition even more out of control. for example when we experience a losing streak it is best to stop gambling before spending all the money.

Gambling must know when to stop and when to play that's why never gamble if you can't do that, because control of emotions and yourself is very important so you don't fall deeper into experiencing a crushing defeat, winning doesn't mean you have to beat the gambling machine but winning against our emotions and greed to reduce losses, after all stopping playing gambling doesn't mean losing.  Wink
The more we chase back our losses, the more we lose. And if we can't control our desperations and continue gambling thinking that the next bet will be our luck, that will lead to overspending and we just realized that we got empty. I have had an experience like this before but that time help me realized that we should not fall addicted to gambling because that will ruin our mindset and gambling limits. And many gamblers suffer from this situation because of wrong assumptions and thinking.
702  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you gamble because you don't have sufficient money? on: July 24, 2023, 02:36:54 PM

I think everyone probably understands that most middle and lower class people only have the goal of making money at gambling because they believe that gambling is a fast way to get rich, even though gambling is also a way to make people poor or bankrupt in a short time. that's why it all has to depend on the nature of a person and their respective mindsets.
That is the reality about gambling and as we can see, the majority who do lotteries are poor people making their fortune relying on luck to become rich instantly. And such kind of mindset drives them to spend more on buying lottery tickets rather than spending for their health. How unfortunate is that but that is how some people look into gambling and consider this as a tool to get into a higher position of life without realizing that if they keep that money it is huge already.
703  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How I end up being into crypto and my journey up and low on: July 24, 2023, 12:18:15 PM
It was a trial and error and we did this for the sake of finding a place where can find contentment.
In crypto spaces, we can't find 100% profits assurance nor we can assure that we can have this xxx amount every day or every month. We tried many things, many ways in order to get what we want but seems not all the time we got into the momentum and so we experience highs and lows together with the volatility of the market. Therefore, it was hard to consider crypto as our main source of income due to the nature of the market.
704  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: As a gambler do you have a potential winning amount limit? on: July 24, 2023, 11:52:34 AM

My main focus on this thread is in this question: as a gambler do you place your bet according to the weight of your financial need or you're always okay with whatever amount that comes out as potential win no matter how small amount?

Of course, we wanted to win more but considering the situation that we just rely on LUCK, accepting a small amount is still okay for me. Because what I think is that I'd rather take this money rather than aim for huge knowing that we can't assure that we keep on winning.
I have had an experience in the past in which I make an all-out bet putting all of my winnings hoping that it will be doubled but seems I've got the wrong timing, it was an unlucky bet which make everything on my hands lost instantly.
705  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Could XRP win in SEC case be a start for next bull run? on: July 23, 2023, 12:49:42 PM
It doesn't seem normal to me that a case takes this long. The SEC XRP case, which will be almost 4-5 years, and it never ends. I also wonder at what level XRP would have been without these litigation events. If it continues like this for a few more years, the uncertainty could weaken XRP considerably. The community it currently has may gradually abandon the token. Of course, when I look at this negative side, I see this. There is another possibility.
We could presume that will happen and it has become uncertain and to trust a project having that situation is hard. But we have some good news in regard to the case, however, that can't give us confidence and thinking that this could help the price to rally. In fact, as we can see, nothing has changed, the price is still low which means that the support level is not huge enough to trigger and make a rise. So even if the case was over, we couldn't think that the price of XRP will improve but rather see it the same as before.
706  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Stephen Fulton vs. Naoya Inoue | WBC & WBO 122 lbs bout | July 25 on: July 23, 2023, 11:18:31 AM
It would be a huge disappointment if this bout will not happen just because Stephen Fulton chickened out, many things have surfaced now and it seems that he is indeed scared to fight Inoue and have his first loss in his career. Well then if that's the case, he could've vacated the belts already and fought in the next weight class even before the bout has been made as that would save not just his own time but to the opposing camp as well instead of making such stories and headlines like this while the fight is already near its schedule.

I believe Fulton in the end is really willing to take on Inoue and there will be no postponement. Inoue and his team will probably change the way they handle hand wraps according to US standards. Still, I am doubtful Fulton will withdraw if in case Inoue won't agree with the way hand wraps are done. Or Fulton could ask for more money so he could agree. Both teams and the promoter made a lot of sacrifices to make this fight and these simple stuffs should not be a major obstacle. Fulton agrees to come to Japan because of the big money offer and Inoue's #1 or #2 pound-for-pound ranking which would open the way for more opportunities should he win or at least make the fight close.

He made all the effort in training just to face Inoue; nothing would stop him from fighting the monster. Besides, a win here will put his name in the conversation of the greatest active boxers, so there's a big prize he would get once he successfully defends his title. Fulton's team is already showing signs of doubts on their chances because they are already throwing baseless accusations.
707  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: July 23, 2023, 10:03:40 AM
Celtics, Jaylen Brown to renew discussions on potential richest contract in NBA history next week, per report
https://www.cbssports.com/nba/news/celtics-jaylen-brown-to-renew-discussions-on-potential-richest-contract-in-nba-history-next-week-per-report/
Quote
Brown can sign a max extension worth $304 over five years
Why? He ain't the Lebron of this era. Not Steph Curry too.
My curiosity about teams who will agree with such a huge contract will never fade. He is a good player that is given, but I always think such a huge amount is for the caliber of players that are in the top 10 of the MVP race. Looking back, he ain't there.
I just don't know why as well, and I hope that the Celtics will not give this kind of contract to Brown.
Not even the possible GOAT Lebron James had this huge contract on his whole NBA career. Not even Steph Curry who is the greatest shooter on NBA. What can we call Brown? The biggest flop in playoffs? Cheesy

Anyway, I just hope that the Celtics aren't that dumb to give him this contract because he doesn't deserve it TBH, and I know that many here will agree on what we said. He's just eligible for this kind of contract because he "barely" got to the All-NBA team last season. He's a good player like you said, but he's not in the levels of Lebron, or Steph, or Durant, or even with Kyrie, or even with his teammate Tatum. He's below all of them, and yet he's the one who is having a discussion regarding the "possible" largest contract in NBA history.

Aside from Lillard, and Harden drama, maybe let's add Brown to the list as well. Cheesy
That's too much if we base the standard on LeBron and other stars, but the management has seen that Brown has been one of their stars, so they want to keep him. It's their decision, so I guess they know what they are doing, as they wouldn't throw $300 million for nothing.

Brown have showed what he is capable of, the Celtics which came rebuilding were having a success with Brown and Tatum, so they'll stay with a good contract.
708  Economy / Economics / Re: Building a prosperous business on: July 23, 2023, 08:12:46 AM
To start a business is quite easy but to become successful and prosperous, that is something we need to work hard. Because I would say that business is not just all about having money or capital but having good management and plan had played an important role. Unfortunately, many business starters had missed this thing - with the lack of preparation, knowledge, and ideas, I can say it only fail. That is why I'd see some business owners hire someone to manage their business because they know that they are not capable enough to do it on their own.
709  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Why Crypto may go wrong for some people on: July 23, 2023, 06:33:49 AM
A friend of mine recently complain to me about how he loses thousands of dollars to crypto after invest in a token. He now said he is quiting crypto and now comparing crypto investing to that of gambling.

There is no wrong with crypto but there is wrong with your friend and the way he enters and buys tokens. I suspected that he bought scam coins and it was not a surprise from losing them.

I do believe that someone who knows about how crypto works will never compare this to gambling. And from what you have heard from your friend, it tells us that he never does research prior to investing. He probably jumps on it without knowledge and then blames crypto for his mistake.

 - what we did is the result of our doings and if we are too careless, then we can never expect positive outcomes but surely negative.
710  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Farmer's Bitcoin Investment on: July 22, 2023, 09:44:14 PM
As long as they know the consequences and are willing to take the risks, there are no problems with that. In fact, this is an additional investment for you that you can rely on and earn huge profits during bullrun. It is like opening another box of opportunity and it was not regretting because we believe that Bitcoin will continue to grow. Many people had changed because of this kind of investment and if it becomes successful, then this could also change your life OP and everyone who is involved in the cooperative. Risk takers gain more, that was the reality.
711  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Which is more profiting self trade or AI on: July 22, 2023, 09:00:07 PM
One of the greatest weakness of traders is emotion; human emotion always interfere with our judgement, this is why traders loose while using even a winning strategy. So I believe if AI is well trained on a proven winning strategy, the aspect of emotion will be eliminated and the result will be far better than human managing the trade.

The major challenge is that AI have not been proven to be adaptive as the market in itself changes over time. In all, suitability is the key as everyone will opt for what best work for them.

Yes true that emotions are the big enemy of one's success and because of these emotions one cannot make true and correct decision. While that of AI is not dependent on emotions and the features of emotion is not present in this technology.

It is the ability of humans that if they loss trader then they follow their emotions instead of learning about their weak points so because of this they convert the activities of trading into gambling. While that of AI which just completed the command so they don't think about their success and loss.
Emotions could affect everything, I could agree with that and the use of AI is somewhat a good option. But it was too early to rely on them, of course, they don't have emotion and they function based on what we programmed to them. However, it was not the basis of saying it was more profitable because that will also depend on the traders who send commands to it. Maybe this will be a big help for busy people but for us who have plenty of time to face on the computer, I'd rather consider myself doing it, and aside from that, I'd be learning more.
712  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Time for bounties and airdrops as we near bull season on: July 22, 2023, 12:44:24 PM
I know that there are a few airdrops and bounties that are worth participating in but finding them is so hard. Usually, when the bull season is near, many projects pop up and launch airdrops and bounty campaigns to gain more attraction and visibility. If you are a hunter, these days are the best to start looking for good projects but we don't have to expect too much from them from earning money because we are not sure as well that they will succeed and be listed to an exchange. Yes, many projects had been created but only a few are true to their promises, some turn into scams and leave the participants.
713  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Nonito Donaire vs Alejandro Santiago for WBC bantamweight (july15,2023 on: July 22, 2023, 10:34:02 AM

So we might listen to their predictions and what not and analysis. But as bettor I think we should know better and bet on the boxer that we think we should win the fight base on our own analysis. But with Donaire vs Santiago, I will go with the popular opinion that Donaire will beat Santiago and win the WBC bantamweight again.

Donaire could be wrong because, in the first place, he was mistaken when he believed he could beat Inoue. He was defeated twice, and that's a statement that Inoue is truly unbeatable. I'm not sure what the basis of his prediction is, but if it's solely because Inoue has moved up to a heavier weight, I doubt that's significant enough to affect his chances.

That's his personal opinion, though. Despite that, people may not change their minds and would still bet on Inoue. Let's just follow the trend since Inoue is one of the most popular boxers in the world; a loss would be detrimental to his career. So, let's consider that we are betting on his future, and we can be sure that our money is worth it, regardless of the outcome.
714  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: July 22, 2023, 10:10:08 AM
Perhaps they are still very young then, if and my memory serves me right, they have to trade Harden then to ease their luxury taxes. But I do agree, what if prime KD, WB and Harden playing at OKC. And then they have Ibaka and Perks at the middle and Fisher at guard position.

They could compete back then, but I guess they don't have the experience back then. And then KD moving to GSW was the final nail in the coffin for them as WB can't carry the team although he has the best statistical numbers for him and won MVP.
They reached the NBA Finals but lost. After his season with the OKC, Harden had a great offer, so he had to leave OKC and join the Rockets. If I'm not mistaken, it was a great decision for him, as most players would always prioritize what they make over winning a championship, especially if a player is relatively new.

In my personal opinion, it is crucial for every player to consider the financial aspect of their career. Naturally, when a player displays exceptional skills, they attract the attention of larger teams, which offers them an opportunity to earn a higher income. Hence, there are instances where players opt to join better quality teams rather than focusing solely on monetary compensation. However, I believe this approach can be misguided because even if a player performs admirably within their team, people will ultimately question their achievements should the team fail to secure victory, that being the ultimate expectation from fans and supporters alike.
Every team in the NBA is capable of giving a huge contract; they just have a salary cap. In fact, there are teams now that aren't even playoff teams that have given huge contracts to rookies during their renewal, so players would not mind choosing a team as long as it could give them a huge contract. However, later in their career, if they are already satisfied with their earnings, they may prioritize the opportunity to win a championship, even if it means sacrificing their earnings. A good example of this is Westbrook.
715  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How can I understand meme coin good or bad position? on: July 21, 2023, 09:50:19 PM
How can I understand a meme coin's position in the current market? Is there any way to tell if it will be good or bad? I have seen MEXC exchange add many meme tokens daily. How to identify a good token from here?
There is no need to find if meme coins are good or bad because generally, all of them are not good especially if we are looking for long-term investment. They capture attention and gain massive demand due to the hyped they've made but after that, we can't expect them to grow but rather see them dumping. In fact, a lot of meme coins already exist in the market and only a few of them become popular - Doge, Shiba, and Pepe while the rest are resting well. I don't think they are worth to invest.
716  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Would You Advise People To Stake? on: July 21, 2023, 09:31:46 PM
We usually got fall into huge offers that encourage us to stake and deposit to their platform, and later on, we get nothing and even lose our funds.
Although staking is not a bad idea but must also know the risk that corresponds to that and sadly, many people neglect to see it as a reason why many people had to lose their money.

Of course, I won't stop someone from staking but yeah, they also consider the platform or site that they use, and the last one is that only use a small amount to avoid big losses.
717  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Nonito Donaire vs Alejandro Santiago for WBC bantamweight (july15,2023 on: July 21, 2023, 01:47:05 PM

Let us not forget that the fight will be held in Japan, the only way for you to win is via knockout and I don't think that Fulton could KO Inoue so with that I will be betting Inoue to win via decision @3.10, a good bet for me.

Good luck, but honestly, I find it hard to believe in anything other than a KO win by Inoue. You know, he is a KO artist, so it's most likely he will win via KO if you believe he will win. The reason why a KO win by Inoue has lower odds is because it's likely what we will witness. So, I'm still with Inoue, but on the KO win.

We don't know the outcome of this fight, so what we are doing is just guessing the winner. Most of us probably believe that Inoue will win; it's just that we are looking for more attractive odds, and we know that ML odds are not what we are looking for. So, it's either KO or a win by decision, and @bisdak40 just wants to risk on the bigger odds.

Anything could happen, but obviously, now the majority are thinking that Inoue will win. However, we should not be 100% too confident that he will win because Fulton is a decent fighter; he is the champion, and we have to remember that. I hope this isn't going to be a fight like Canelo vs Bivol, where everyone was thinking Canelo would win if he moves up and fights the champion, and Bivol was underestimated at that time.
718  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: July 21, 2023, 01:12:30 PM

Overall, yes we don't know the future of the team if Harden will be on the Clippers, but I just shared my opinion base on their performances, and experiences in the past. I hope that I'm wrong with the injury part, and hoping still that they will not get injured, but if that happen, Kawhi, PG, and Harden will be traded next year since they have an expiring contract.
Paul George may be on the trade block. That might be the cost of Harden. With the frequency of injuries that PG and Kawhi face, I would look to unload both of them for some younger talent. I cannot see a good future for the Clippers if they plan to try to keep both of these guys.

If it's about talent, there is no doubt that these mentioned players have what it takes to be a champion or at least caliber-like but if we're talking about the welfare of the team while also considering these players health, the Los Angeles Clippers will not benefit if they will still give them an extension within their expense because there is no guarantee that teams will still risks some money for them in the upcoming seasons.

They failed last season, so it's about time to move on and look for other players. Westbrook might have thought that PG and Kawhi would stay because he chose to stay with the Clippers for a very low salary. I'm guessing he just wants to win a championship, and he believes in his teammates to help him achieve that goal. So what would happen if PG and Kawhi will get traded?
719  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022–23 PBA Commissioner's Cup on: July 20, 2023, 01:38:56 PM
It turns out the odds were quite a trap. TNT managed to win the game, and that ended their losing streak. Luckily, I was not able to bet on that particular game as I would never put my money on TNT moneyline since they have been struggling. I believe many bettors had fallen into that trap.
720  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Nonito Donaire vs Alejandro Santiago for WBC bantamweight (july15,2023 on: July 20, 2023, 12:55:07 PM
I'm really tempted to bet on Inoue to win by KO; it's 1.98 in my sportsbook now. What do you guys think about these odds? Are you going in, or will you play it safe and just bet on Inoue to win the game regardless of how?

Inoue's first-round KO win is at x40. Is it worth the risk?
