thx for the critique, what do you mean by uplifting? the site is somehow not really doing what i think it should ..  I like the color mixing quite a bit, but the logo has a strong, masculine feel like a certain worker/ labor party logo/ symbol. And since it looks like the hand squeezing something like a ball, the logo has somewhat closed and even a bit violence suggestions. What I have in mind is some symbol/ abstract that suggests an open, hopeful, egalitarian message. I am no designer but I hope we can dig in a bit and come up with something phenomenon for new. |

Maybe I can call up some people and we can get a team selling Evinrude outboard motors to people in every thread. I'm sure everyone will love that. This is a privately run website, that's what the free market and freedom is, being able to do whatever you want on your privately run website. Where is the option to go back to the drawing board, remove the IPO, reissue NEM as proof of work for distribution, then convert to proof of stake once all shares have been mined?
There is no option for this because the developer wants money. How much did he get? Like 100 BTC? More? How is that a "New Economcy Movement". He's issuing currency for profit. That's an old economy movement. Ultracoin, Coinye, many others have all done the same thing. They're all referred to as scammers. Is it any different because the thing is written in Java? That's not a "feature", that's just another negative to add on the stack.
100 BTC belong to the NEM community not the developers. If you want to develop NEMcoins and apps for the community, that money could be given to you. We have no new codes yet so it is not like developers trying to sell the coin/ software they already made. People with a shared idea chipping money together to make something great. Is that concept too difficult to understand to you ? BTW, this is an open invitation to join NEM development team if you share the same idea with the NEM community. We always need talented developers and helpers. About mining, thank you but NO. What's the purpose of running useless calculation? especially if we don't need to. I myself almost missed the IPO if allwelder didn't remind me. by the way, I'm able to collect information from posts in the threads with python scripts, I can help to do something if you think it's necessary, for example, when you collect passhrase hashes from stakeholders, you could ask stakeholders to post the hash in the thread in a specific format, and I can collect them automatically. for 3000+ ids it will take some time doing it manually. Should be less than that. Read here - we are at step 2. Fundraising is over and here are some updates and plans ahead: 1. The (first draft) stakeholder list is now updated to the end of the fundraising. 2. Kooream will update his stakeholder list population shortly after. 3. Now we (me, patmast3r and kooream) will deal with any complaint about the list until everyone is satisfied. We also deal with any duplicate hash case thoroughly. 4. A unified list with all stakeholders will be created from these multiple lists. All accounts without Y condition will be removed. Then we will remove any duplicate names so that an account only appears once in the list. 5. A pubic auditing will be announced with detail guidelines/ suggestions. We will have the public auditing lasting 5 days and then have 2 days to consolidate the list and refund big multi- accounters. 6. A final NEM stakeholder list is announced which is the social contract of NEM project to its community stating that all Nemcoins (minus development shares) would be divided equally to these accounts. 7. plans for development are announced and there will be a refund period after that. 8. plans for NEM exchanges are announced. more... In total we raised more than 400K NXT and 56 BTC and formed a huge and strong community. Our last stakeholder is contraband whose transaction is not in the thread because it is locked before he edited the post. But he sent me the transaction ID via PM. I am looking forward to seeing all of you in the future success of NEM. |

With Counterparty Protocol (Proof of Burn) everyone pays the same amount of Bitcoins to gain a share in the new coin, also the Devs. The bitcoins are burned to launch the coin.
If you like that way then you do that way. We are of "NO ENVY". NEM as a community chose to use our money more intelligently like making useful things for the community. w/e do as you like. Counterparty Protocol is much more advanced and completely fair. Stick to ur No Envy idea. Well completely fair if you have 30 BTC to burn, or at least 10. But we don't go to XCP thread to announce that fact - that what"no envy" means. So let's us do our things, you do yours. |

Hello. I found my name in category 3 and I'm new. Something will happen to me now?  Nothing. It is just like any population statistics. The information is there so we know how many "old" versus "young" people in the community. We may do another statistics like that 6 months from now and perhaps all group 3 accounts have changed to group 2/1. That means we as a community has grown up and that also means NEM did a big service to the industry. |

How can you buy NEM at this point?
Not yet that I've seen, though there appear to be scamming sites who will take your money for alsorts.. ETH Ethereum on one today. Thread 1 : Group 1 : 711 stakeholders Group 2 : 310 stakeholders Group 3 : 440 stakeholders Thread 2: Group 1 : 379 stakeholders Group 2 : 473 stakeholders Group 3 : 803 stakeholders (some already show more activity after this statistics is compiled) I think this does show the size and strength of NEM community. While we have a lot of veteran accounts participating, we also attract a big amount of new people coming to crypto and joining us. |

Do we have anyone here who is a good writer, We can submit an article to coindesk titled : The evolution of cyptocurrency from POW to POIwe could describe the immense waste of energy of bitcoin and how second generation cryptos like NXT and NEM  are now trying to change this paradigm. I could write an article like this, but we should wait until POI is at least in the testing phase. We should really get into bitcoin magazine, or do they only do ethereum stuff now? I have some contacts, at coindesk as well. It is not that difficult to publish there when we have something to show. |

I like the style of Mastercoin, counterparty and nxt logos more. So we need to dig deeper here. Honestly, i think NEM should be a variation of the NXT logo, but in silver to symbolize it's status. Much like Litecoin to BTC. Nah, NEM has new codes which inherit much more from bitcoin than nxt. The lite coin of nxt comparison is not appropriate anymore because in actual codes, nem takes litter from nxt. So you need to update the thinking there. |
