721  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Trading Based on One Exchange's Prices on: April 05, 2020, 05:59:55 PM
But if you base your buy decision on a thin sell wall, and yet on another exchange it's a heavy wall, and the market moves according to the aggregate of all orders on all exchanges, how will your analysis hold any value?

JH

Honestly I wouldn't rely on the bid and ask orders that much as traders could put "dummy orders" just to influence the market in their way. Basically just by relying on bid and ask orders alone you'll just be falling into their traps which would likely lead you into incurring a loss. I would still recommend you into looking at the crypto's technical charts to get the bigger picture outside of the bid and ask of that exchange, this will provide you a much more accurate reading in your analysis. If you are looking at the bid and ask orders then you should check the crypto's 1 minute and 5 minute charts and it's volume to see if there is really a demand going on during that time, if the volume supports the price movement then you should base your decision towards it.
With 400 million USD or even less pwede sila gumawa ng sarili nilang department to compete with CoinMarketCap with their own trusted data analysts and support. Alam ko magiging mahirap labanan ang CMC pero I know that if magiging trusted and reliable sila compared sa CMC balang araw ay mauungasan na nila ito. Isang reason lang naman kaya gusto bilihin yung CMC na yan para lang ma monopolize yung market which I think will be a bad thing for us individuals in the crypto industry. Mas gusto niyo ba yun? CMC nalang meron tayo and walang close alterative para dito?
723  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Is 51% attack a double-spending threat to bitcoin? on: April 05, 2020, 02:23:25 PM
~snip~
It looks to be my fault starting this thread by quoting from Satoshi and the white paper but it was the right decision because it doesn't matter how Satoshi presented his work, it matters how he had to present it: as a solution to the double-spending problem!

If bitcoin was not such a solution it wouldn't get any attention, leave alone surviving for more than a decade and surpassing a whopping 120+ billion dollars market cap now in its worst days. We have pooling pressure flaw in bitcoin PoW since the first few months after the Genesis and we have pools and all this 51% threat around since late 2010. Bitcoin didn't survive because polls didn't practically do anything bad as the result of some fragile game theoric analysis. People don't trust a system that is half an inch away from a total failure.

Actually I didn't focused on what Satoshi said of Bitcoin's whitepaper, I merely just touched your argument about it which is clearly stated before you quoted Bitcoin's whitepaper. My answer/post basically was just touching all the arguments you have laid on how Bitcoin is the "solution" for double-spending just because Bitcoin's whitepaper has said it so. So I'm sorry if I got off-topic with your new topic, I was basing it in your OP.

Now, and please stay focused, if the double-spend is solved in the first place regardless of what is happening in the mining scene, what's actually driving the anti-PoW/anti-miner propaganda/instincts in this community? I'm asking about the rationale behind this phobia and the way it is blocking so many scaling ideas and proposals? If double-spending is not going to happen and bitcoin supply won't ever exceed the cap, what else is at stake that makes people nervous about trusting in PoW?

One having fear/worry on something they believe in won't really go away. The presence of just a possibility of a 51% attack happening alone just put some fear in a lot of people, seeing that there is a possible flaw on how Bitcoin transactions work and how they can be erased, reversed, and be double-spended is something that can cause fear in both the consumer and the producer side of things. Not until we reach a certain level of miners really dominating the network I guess this fear from a 51% attack won't just disappear instantly.
724  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Is 51% attack a double-spending threat to bitcoin? on: April 04, 2020, 08:28:29 PM
We have proposed a system for electronic transactions without relying on trust. We started with the usual framework of coins made from digital signatures, which provides strong control of ownership, but is incomplete without a way to prevent double-spending. To solve this, we proposed a peer-to-peer network using proof-of-work to record a public history of transactions that quickly becomes computationally impractical for an attacker to change if honest nodes control a majority of CPU power.

You forgot the "Conclusion" part of Bitcoin's whitepaper, Bitcoin only has a "proposed solution" for double-spending but was never guaranteed by Saotoshi himself aside from that Satoshi is also aware that a 51% attack is possible that is why he is talking about PoW on transactions on how should it be "computationally impractical" so that it would be "impractical" for an attacker to infiltrate the network. But Satoshi didn't even dived in to the possibility of a 51% attack from happening in Bitcoin's network, I know it would require a lot of resources for an individual or a group to pull through and control 51% of the hash rate but if we are only talking about the chances of this happening I know we all know that a 51% attack has a chance to happen.
725  Local / Pilipinas / Re: Philippine SEC warns of crypto Ponzi Scheme on: April 04, 2020, 06:18:11 PM
But yung problema ko dito why SEC and BSP until now is just issuing warnings about this website kasi hindi enough/sapat na action ito kung alam nilang illegally operating yung website and lalong lalo na na identified as scam ito. And alam ko may kapangyarihan silang mang-block ng domain or website katulad ng ginawa nila sa several porn sites dapat din ganito yung aksyon nila bukod sa mag-bigay ng pa-alala sa mga tao, mas effective kasi ito and alam mo ng di pa dadagdag yung mabibiktima nila sa Pilipinas.
726  Local / Pamilihan / Re: Paano magtop-up sa Gcash, Paymaya at Credicards gamit ang WhaleSpend? on: April 02, 2020, 09:22:16 PM
Just to clarify lang hah @OP sa mismong WhaleSpend ba na website walang verification process? And yung mga tanging cash transaction limits lang ay depende kung verified or hindi yung GCASH at PAYMAYA mo? Kasi yun yung part na nakakalito and sa website niyo ang tinuturo lang na verification process if for both GCASH and PayMaya pero wala kayong KYC process mismo kaya yun yung nakakapagtaka. And isa pa is pag-sinabi mo bang "credit card" top-up you just mean credit card lang talaga or pwede din kayo mag process ng bank deposits directly?
727  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Italian League Prediction Thread (Serie A) on: April 02, 2020, 07:43:44 PM
however Juventus have set a good example all the players have accepted the 30% salary reduction until they return to play, it seems that the league has decided (to be confirmed) that all the remaining matches will be played and the championship will end at half July...

What's your source here? Because the last time I check the Prime Minister of Italy has even banned them from practicing until the mid-week of April other than that I haven't seen any news regarding the resumption of the league games. Even if there is a rumor about the continuation of the league I'll doubt that it will happen especially if their own country that they play in is still not yet stable due to the pandemic. I wouldn't really hope anything yet not until their country is stable as well as all of the affected players are able to play for their team.
728  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2020-04-02] Rich Dad Poor Dad Author Calls Bitcoin People’s Money on: April 02, 2020, 05:50:35 PM
He has been saying this for years now I remembered this topic resurfacing from 2018 and 2019 which makes me wonder why he keeps on saying this over and over again and this time via tweet with a lesson coming from his book. I don't know maybe it's just part of his marketing ploy on staying relevant in the market again to keep his book sales up but there is really no evidence that he is holding Bitcoin himself. So really this is the only possibility why he keeps bringing up Bitcoin just to promote his book from the process.
729  Local / Pilipinas / Re: IRAN BABAWASAN ANG PAGGAMIT NG SARILI NILANG BANK NOTES? on: April 02, 2020, 04:18:55 PM
So naghanap ako ng update about Iran and to my surprise hanggang ngayon wala pa din silang lockdown na nangyayari as of today and iniisip nila yung economi and political disadvantage pag ginawa ito, yung news nila about sa banknotes naman ay yun nga hindi crypto ang naging solution nila kung hindi debit cards to promot "contactless payments" which I think isn't really that a big improvement kumpara sa pagbabayad ng paper money kasi may nangyayari pa ding contact at pasahan. IMO their government needs to step up a bit lalo na nasa top 6 sila in total number of deaths.

Iran is suffering the worst outbreak of the virus in the Middle East. Using cash there is common, but in recent weeks many people have avoided it and banks have announced that they will not accept cash from customers. Iranians often have multiple debit cards but cash is widely used in small-scale transactions, like buying bread in bakeries or leaving a tip. Many people have started even being careful in how they hand over debit cards, as contactless payment methods haven’t caught on there.

730  Local / Pilipinas / Re: Bitcoin's price, at ang ating mental health. on: April 02, 2020, 03:43:48 PM

May nabasa akong article dati about WHO pointing out that the number of suicide in the Philippines especially sa male filipinos ay lumalaki, suicide attempts might be a bigger rate daw kaya dito palang alam na natin na madaming causes na pwedeng magpa-kamatay ang tao and ito ngang pagkawala ng pera ay possibleng dahilan.
731  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Italian League Prediction Thread (Serie A) on: April 02, 2020, 02:57:46 PM
According to rumors, Juventus may refuse the title if he will win without playing the rest of the games while Lazio wants to play at all the costs the rest of the season for winning the title.

Find the difference.

(another rumor Giraudo will probably do an appel for the sentence of Calciopoli)

I don't think that a team has the power to deny a championship or else they could be facing certain sanctions here which they wouldn't like. If they are the default winners Serie A has been known to be not tolerant to clubs who violate certain rules and decisions and from what I know teams like Juventus and AC Milan got punish by being automatically relegated to Serie B for some seasons so if they do deny the title I was thinking that they'll have this sort of punishment. However there is no final decision here and Juventus is just talking about "what ifs" as of the moment and I know the Serie A board will be consulting with other teams regarding on how they will finish this season.
732  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: South korean allow Crypto |Singapore allows 6 months license free on: April 01, 2020, 10:39:16 PM
I don’t know what the relationship is between the two topics, but the legislative laws in many countries are still unclear due to the absence of an agreed regulatory framework or standard between all countries. Therefore, many platforms operate according to the financial regulation laws currently until they are banned from providing services or that they are prepared New legislative laws.
Consequently, the two topics talk about enacting more legislation that may not be compatible with the platforms, or they may be strict enough to make the platform move to another location.

The OP might just posted articles in relation to positive legal news for crypto moving forward in both countries. While I do have to agree with you that some laws by countries have been proven to be unfavorable to crypto businesses there is no denying that some countries have big markets for the industry which still allows them to operate smoothly in that country. Countries like the USA and China for example have been in this tag-o-war with crypto regulations yet we still see crypto husinesses and ICOs prosper in this countries. As long as the regulation allows them to have some movement I lnow that thos businesses and projects will find a way to operate.
733  Local / Pamilihan / Re: Kakaibang pangyayari sa coinmarketcap. on: April 01, 2020, 09:29:32 PM

-Kawbet.com on: April 01, 2020, 08:19:36 PM

The good thing is that sama sama tayong nag kwestyon sa legitimacy nila.

-Kawbet.com on: March 31, 2020, 08:56:23 PM
On my fair assessment of the website I would say that KawBet isn't legally operating in the Philippines. Sa una palang na sinabi nila na sila ang unang Bitcoin Casino sa Pilipinas ay magtataka ka na kasi hindi naman na nag-iissue ang PAGCOR natin ng licenses either than PhilWebs' egamecasino.ph which is the only known locally licensed E-gambling site the Pilipinas. Kaya pili lang ang tanong na sinasagot ng OP and parang iniiwasan din nya yung mga tanong about legality dahil alam nila wala silang license dito. As for international license for KawBet wala din itong pinapakita sa website nila. Tama kayong mag-hinala sa website na ito na prinipromote nila na Philippine-based e-casino kasi as of now isa palang ang meron tayo, I would advice anyone to stay away from this website.
736  Local / Others (Pilipinas) / Re: Paalala mula po sa ating Bangko Sentral (BSP) on: March 31, 2020, 06:28:59 PM
For texts laging tatandaan na pag-nang galing sa 11-digit number yung text message more likely is it is a scam or fraud. Madami na ang scam na nangyayari sa text from pasa load to bank deposit and phishing scams kaya tandaan stay away from 11-digit numbers.

But from my understanding most of those players and staff members earn much more money than an average employee. So having a salary cut for a half a dozen months given the current circumstances shouldn't be so much of an issue to them.
I mean the whole globe is down to its knees and there are people who are so badly off right now, Any person with humility would understand the current situation.

When I say "high-earning individuals" I'm talking about their employees who aren't part of the main operation which also part of the salary cut they are doing, obviously these employees in Italy need money and this is the time they needed it the most with the lockdown currently in effect in their country. And from what I am seeing some of the clubs like Barca and Tottenham are asking their players and staff as well to have no pay check in the coming months so I'm really glad that the Juventus management is not alone with this. The dissatisfaction of their staff and players might be gone because it is now being accepted by a lot of clubs already I would expect majority of the clubs to follow what other teams are doing right now with no income going on.
738  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Italian League Prediction Thread (Serie A) on: March 30, 2020, 09:41:58 PM
Have you seen this news about Juventus reaching an agreement with their players on not having salaries on the months of March up to June? I was surprised that the players and staff even agree to this since they'll be losing 90 million Euros in wages and I know that some of their staff are not high earning individuals as compared to their players aside from that this will just give a big dissatisfaction towards the managent, some of their staff and players might leave the club because of this. Also with this news it already gives us a big hint that Serie A's 2019-2020 season is now over with the agreement of wages not being paid up until June which just marks the start of the transfer window for next season.
739  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Seeking help for MVP fake news voting platform on: March 30, 2020, 06:41:29 PM
~snip~

Thank you for proposing the weighing and credibility system. I am keen to add this system for verifiers/fact-checkers and accuracy of such users can be an important factor as proposed by you. However, there are many factors to consider, especially for giving 'credible' users or fact-checkers a bigger weight on their votes.

Instead of adding more weight to their votes, fact-checkers who are based on the country of interest in the article, can place facts, such as photos taken, or evidence known by fact checkers, to convince other fact-checkers to back his opinion. But I feel that, if someday by any chance this platform is up and running, we might need to change the dynamics of this system regularly, as human behavior can change when we introduce systems like weighted votes, and credibility.

You really don't need to adjust the system entirely since the system itself will be adjusted based on the credibility rank/score the user will have each time they vote. Also to add it should also not be plainly about voting only and each voter everytime they vote should always add in the factual checking they do on why they have voted what is real and fake. This would make your system much easier to see who are credible or not when it comes to fact checking.

Some facts that we believe today, might be debunked in future, from tomorrow till the end of mankind. This platform can be seen as more of a way, for educating people in current times with regards to ridiculous fake news, that can bring inconvenience to major disaster to people. I don't think it is possible to carve anything voted here in a stone, saying it's a fact and it can't be changed.

Thanks again for your input on the credibility system, that is definitely one good way to move forward for this platform.

That's why voting on each news should never be closed since we have cases where news we believe to be true would turn out to be fake/hoax in the coming months/weeks or even years. So everytime there is a new update about the news voters have the time to either switch their both or withdraw their findings in light of new information.
740  Local / Pamilihan / Re: Coins.ph Waiver form on: March 30, 2020, 05:53:28 PM
