721  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How to make old people understand Bitcoin? on: September 01, 2020, 02:56:41 PM
It's okay to teach old people about new technologies. Bitcoin might be helpful for some part of their lives such as but not limited to conviently sending/receiving funds, and making payments.
That should help because old people mostly need more rest. Less effort, more rest time for them.

To be honest, it is great for them to use such technologies but I don't think we should force it to them. It is great for them to learn using them, but do you think it will be interesting for them? I think almost all of them will not be interested in it, that is the reason why this is hard. Most of them are not even interested in computers and mobile phones, how much more making a transactions using bitcoin.
722  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Laws of Bitcoin on: September 01, 2020, 01:44:29 PM
I don't know but for me shouldn't this be a rule and not a law? Correct me if Im wrong though. Since there are those people that broke these laws and no one knows what that is as they say it, on one above the law. On the other hand a rules is something that couldbe a guide for the people use bitcoin. This is just my opinion though.
The law itself is a system of rules, and if you don't follow rules, you will get punished.

I think this just explains it all, thank you for that. But that also raises a question since no one can actually punish these people when they didn't follow these laws. I mean, some tell the amount of bitcoin they hold, hold their btcs to exchanges and don't care what link are they clicking. If I will be answering my question, I think the punishment would be losing their btcs.
723  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Are there any VR crypto casinos? on: September 01, 2020, 11:59:22 AM
I don't have any VR to try these sites out but I hope they would let their gamblers try first their games or the feel of these VR games so they would not be disappointed when they actually deposit their money in there. Since you have a VR, maybe you could visit them and try the VR games they offer though I am saying you should deposit there, maybe just a trial?
724  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: COCK FIGHTING: COVID-19 health protocols violators, caught on: September 01, 2020, 10:52:18 AM
So it is worth it? Hell no, they should have save and keep that money because we really don't know how long this pandemic will last. And it just shows that gamblers are really bad in making decisions.

Hope these gamblers could hear you so they would realize what they are doing. People are doing what they wanted and that is the same as these people betting on cockfighting. New cases had been reported in our province so I think it would really hit them to stop what they are doing. I warned my friend about going in one today and I don't know if they continued that.
725  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: You have to prove that you can take the loss on: September 01, 2020, 12:13:41 AM
Losses are those who made us better players or people.
If you don't lose you don't win so it is good to have experienced them in order to take your lessons and do not repeat your past activities.

But there are a lot of people that would take that losses so differently. Just think of those people that are addicted to gambling, I know that most of them are not addicted because they are losing but still, they view their losses so differently. Some actually think that they can get those losses back not knowing they will lose more. Looking at this thread, we could say that not all of us will be able to look at losses like that.
726  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: You have to prove that you can take the loss on: August 30, 2020, 11:11:22 PM
This law has good intentions but it is still lack basis for the gamblers. I understand that they are trying to save those gamblers who are having financial problems but I think this is not the solution, they can try to provide professional help for those gamblers maybe, but they are trying to pass a law that has so many loopholes.

And the law can affect the casinos and other gamblers too. I may not have the right solution but I hope they can really find the best one for their good intentions, but I think this ain't it.

I do not see any good intentions in considering an adult as incompetent. I think that this is a limitation in rights and quite serious - in fact, we have to prove/obtain permission to use our own money. I think this is a step towards totalitarianism. I am sure that if the government does not receive a rebuff with such initiatives, then it continues to invade all spheres of life and dictate conditions (often absurd), of course, "with the best of intentions."
This is something that we shouldn't be done. Our own hard-earned money is something that we should freely use. If this law will make require us to prove and obtain permission to use our money, then it seems that they don't have any good intentions. It will look like "our money, is their money."

Well, you can't say that unless you can't even control your own money. That is the reason people should really be taught about financial literacy. The government will not be this strict if the people are actually reducing their money used in gambling. In other countries gambling addiction is a problem, if people can't do anything about it the government need to step up.
727  Economy / Economics / Re: Our country was called Province of China. on: August 30, 2020, 10:08:22 PM
I think it might be a typo, because according to the label, the product is indeed made in China, and is manufactured for Elegant Fumes Beauty Products Inc. located in Manila. I don't deny the money trap. but if the context is the product label, there may be a need for an explanation from the company.

It looks like an unintentional typo. But at the same time, for products which are meant to be exported outside China, they should be more careful about the labeling. They can give excuses such as lack of English knowledge of the staff, but this is not going to go well in the Philippines. Just a few months back, both the nations had a small skirmish in the South China sea.

Well, unintentional or intentional these products did not went to the correct process and that is why it is so great that the Mayor of Manila, Mayor Isko, closed down the stores selling them and making them though we doesn't know if these stores knew that to start with. We are still in pandemic and I think we should focus on that right now. We are breaking records of cases.
728  Economy / Economics / Re: Biggest winner during COVID? on: August 30, 2020, 09:25:06 PM
And still, even though we have the technology right now, the virus is still deadly. We've been in this pandemic for months now and we are still struggling and we don't know still about these vaccine whether they are ready or not, all we know is that they are still not done. Yeah, we have the upperhand having the information and the technology and all, but still, why are we even at 24 million, right? That should be lower.

Your points are accurate, but just imagine what would have happened, had this pandemic occurred a few decades earlier.

Yeah, that is what Im actually emphasizing in my statement. These two pandemics are really dangerous to us humans, that we should not even compare these two since they are the same, virus that killed millions of people that might be helpful in making a country prosper. As people are struggling to earn money, there are those that swim in sea of their riches.

730  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I have shared about bitcoin on my class on: August 30, 2020, 12:28:53 PM
I did share some of my experiences investing in bitcoin with my students but I think most of them are busy enjoying their youth or enjoying their junior and senior high lives. Some are interested but can't actually afford to invest since they can't even buy their own shoes. Some of my co-teachers though invested in some exchanges and sadly, some of them got scammed.
731  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: COCK FIGHTING: COVID-19 health protocols violators, caught on: August 30, 2020, 11:44:16 AM
People here in our province are underestimating the virus the reason people are not following some protocols and even continues to go to some places where they could get the virus. I guess that is the same for those cockfight bettors. Tupada are illegal here but people are doing it because of how light the police are. I guess it is because of the fact that our place is kind of far from the PNP office so they could do what they wanted.
732  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sports betting: how much knowledge is too much on: August 29, 2020, 11:32:46 PM
I dont about how others bet, but analyzing everything seems to me like an overkill. People like that are seriously making money, and made gambling as an online source of income, probably.
But for me, my strategy is simple know the game, teams, and players. Odds is not 100% accurate to predict the winner. I sometimes, even go by instinct and just put money on team that looks strong especially when their in a winstreak.
Yes you're right, unlike casino gambling games, when a sport team (or a single player) is in a winning streak, the chances to win the next contest increase.
Choosing a team with a winning streak will help win the bet and must be helped by your conscience to convince it, and besides that you also have to have accurate knowledge and information about the players, strategies and players who will play or other things and to make sure your choice is right.

Choosing a team with a winning streak is just obvious, it would really increase the chance of you winning the bet but we can't always say that we have the right choice since there are some instances that the underdog wins. With a lot of things to consider, you can't always check the whole team and their players. Usually it starts with they have a winning streak and end up with I am betting on their team, sometimes hype could also influence your betting.
733  Economy / Economics / Re: Biggest winner during COVID? on: August 29, 2020, 10:57:00 PM
everyone will not die, even a greater pandemic in the previous year has occurred and an estimate of infecting 1/3 of the total population of the world and causing the death of 50 million people.while corona has only 24 million cases so far, and a temporary victim of 800 people, we don't know what will happen next but for sure they will think of a way to get out of here.

24 million, you think that is small? If you didn't know, The Flu pandemic that killed 50 million has three waves while Covid-19 is only in its 1st wave going to the 2nd wave and we are now seeing 20+ millions of death. Just imagine if 2 more waves will happen, so please don't underestimate this virus. We need to trust the ones that knows how to stop the contamination, as an individual, the best we can do is to follow them. If we all can do that, we are not just the biggest winners, the country will too.

Spanish flu managed to kill so many people, because the medical technology was not advanced back then. If I am not wrong, at that time not a single vaccine existed against the viruses. Also, there was inadequate information available regarding the pandemic, and as a result the governments were very late in quarantining and isolating infected foreign visitors. Back then, the fatality rate was around 10%. For COVID 19, the same is less than 1%.

734  Economy / Economics / Re: The pros and cons of going cashless on: August 29, 2020, 02:33:05 PM
cashless is great for those who are budgetting wisely their money and savings..using cryptocurrency is the best way if you are an income generating and saving conscious minded person.

I don't think you understand how hard that is. If you have an ATM or a mobile wallet and most of your money are there, you tend to make transactions very often since you could do it even if you are just at home. Unless you have someone to manage your money. I guess this depends on the individuals but most of the people I know usually take advantage of this convenience.
735  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What happens to Bitcoin in the long term? on: August 29, 2020, 01:40:17 PM
I don't know if anyone else will mine bitcoin in the future, but the value of bitcoin will certainly rise even higher. Bitcoin's potential to increase in value is certain, so there's a lot of people who are actively buying as many bitcoins as possible.

Even though it is harder in the future, I don't think people would stop mining. The value of bitcoin will obviously rise in the future as Satoshi did a solution for that which is the halving. As many people would be transacting bitcoin, I think the more people would continue to mine since they are earning from those, and we are still far from mining all of them so it will still be a long time.
736  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I gathered every Satoshi Nakamoto thread. on: August 29, 2020, 12:53:07 PM
( I'm sure you had help running some sort of script or something that I sure as hell don't understand, but still very impressive).

Nope. Pure hand  Grin

(I was going on every page of those 1300 and Ctrl+F "satoshi")

Bro! When you said that a lot of people have their free time playing solitaire, I thought it will just be some links that maybe I saw since this many links could take me weeks before I compiled all of these into one thread. It is mindblowing how you did it and it is also mindblowing not knowing how many threads there are about Satoshi Nakamoto! It is really fun to read and backread some of the threads here, gonna bookmark this thread.
737  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Legal Matter on: August 29, 2020, 11:57:00 AM
The government should allow and regulate it gambling is inherent among human and it's been with us since time immemorial, you cannot stop on something that has a market and gambling has a huge market whether online or offline, by regulating it they can impose their rules and a share of the revenue, instead of spending money going after illegal gamblers and fly by night gambling operators, they can protect the interest of their people as well.

These days the government are in desperate need to regain the economy and I think regulating gambling in their country could help them rebuild but at the same time they could not just make these casinos function that quickly since we are still affected by the pandemic. Here in our country, most of the online casinos offer their services to other countries so casino is the only way for us to gamble but as far as I know they are closed.
738  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: You have to prove that you can take the loss on: August 29, 2020, 10:40:48 AM
...most likely ordinary players who do not have problems with gambling addiction will suffer.

I agree, especially those people that can take those losses ten or even maybe a hundred times the set cap by this regulation. I don't think they will be willing to face an ombudsman just to prove that they can take a loss since that might affect their persona negatively knowing that they are gambling like that and in that huge amount.
This is a law that does not benefit anyone and at the same time it affects the majority of gamblers that have their gambling under their control but that now need to follow this dumb regulation, and if you really think about it you will realize that the law is completely pointless because those that are addicted to gambling and that are losing huge amounts of money in it will find another way to gamble or they will find another way to lose their money and at the end they will end up in the same situation as before.

Based on what you said, if this is widely regulated it would also affect the country's economy. Some countries are also getting a lot of taxes from these casinos and online casinos and I think if there will be a regulation like these in a lot of casinos or online casinos, I guess it would affect the taxes the government are getting since these people that you say might find a way to gamble and it would end up illegal..
739  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: VR online casino games take gambling to the new level 🚀 on: August 29, 2020, 09:28:33 AM
Yep, this is the real reason. Many people don't like to go out of home and spend time to get to casino or so on. Or they want to play with friends. So potential for VR gambling is enough good, but as i said above the real problem is equipment and it's price.

I am not that kind of person that would be close to this idea since we don't know what the future holds, right? I think we will not find out how interesting this is for gamblers unless we really try it out for casinos. I remembered some gamblers actually requesting themes of a slots in the past and I think that would also apply to VR. Maybe some casinos could try VR games in their casinos, it might attract more gamblers and with other people there. I am not changing my opinion about this but as I said, I don't know what the future holds and this might actually work. We'll see if some casinos actually try this.
740  Economy / Economics / Re: The pandemic outcome on: August 29, 2020, 12:59:07 AM
Covid19 has taught humanity a lesson. For those that only depend on monthly salary, this will be a challenging moments for them to feed themselves and their families.

No, we are not taught by this virus that just live because of its hosts and use them to multiply. We are humans, becase of this pandemic, we are not taught, we are affected by it so we make a way to survive. We adjust because of this pandemic, that should be the statement.
