741  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: T20 and T20I cricket prediction and discussion on: July 25, 2021, 02:04:11 PM
Another high scoring match, and winning opportunity for the Zimbabwe in the T20 series. Bangladesh always trouble to chase a big total, they were lost second T20 in the same way. Looks like BAN won't repeat the same story, very close to defeat the total.

BAN 181/4, Bangladesh need 13 runs in 12 balls!

Pathetic performance from the Zimbabwe bowlers. Now Bangladesh need just 7 runs in 9 balls. Once again poor captaincy from Zimbabwe. Similar to what happened in the first T20 match, their best bowler was brought in after it was all over. If he had bowled the 18th over instead of Dion Myers, then Zimbabwe had a chance. Myers conceded 15 runs from his over and destroyed the chances of Zimbabwe with that. Blessing Muzarabani picked up a wicket (Mahmudullah) in the 19th over, but by now it is all over.

Smith didn't receive any harsh treatment from the ICC tho, they only handed out like 3-5 matches ban to everyone if my memory serves me well. It was CA who took the decision of banning, another addition angle (not main tho) in this story is most of the CA officials hated Warner because of his rebellion behavior.

You're spot on. In my point of view all CA did is damage control in this drama and i also failed to understand that how come they banned only batsmen (warner, smith bancroft) and gave clean chit to their fast bowlers especially Starc.

On kohli well he's reign is about to finish so don't worry about him much. He legend as far as his batting is concern but when it comes to captaincy, he's shit.

LOL.. Kohli has at least 4 years of international cricket left. So why do you think that his reign is about to end? If I remember correctly, you were saying the same after India lost the WTC final as well. It is clear that no one in the BCCI has the courage to take any action against him. There were proposals to limit Kohli's captaincy to test format, and make someone else the ODI and T20 captain. But that was never put in to practise, because the board didn't wanted to antagonize Kohli. Personally, I don't think that this is a serious issue. Indian team performs well irrespective of who handles the captaincy. So if the BCCI want to continue with the status quo, it is perfectly OK with me.
743  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do you worry about not being able to convert BTC to fiat in future on: July 25, 2021, 01:29:30 PM
Being a Bitcoiner for almost 10 years, this is one of the aspects that I am quite worried about. But the situation has improved over the years. It is possible to purchase gift cards with BTC, and these gift cards can be used for 90% of the occasions. So in all cases you don't need to convert Bitcoin to fiat cash. 5-6 years ago, it was possible to purchase prepaid debit cards that can be loaded with BTC. But due to the added regulations, doing so has become extremely hard nowadays. Finally I would say that using Bitcoin directly has remained a challenge, because the acceptability hasn't improved much in the last 2-3 years.
744  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2021-07-22] JPMorgan Opens Crypto Trading To All Clients on: July 25, 2021, 01:11:04 PM
Thanks for clarifying my thoughts. So they are in partnership with Greyscale and then basically, they are doing that indirect thing. Making sure that their client is safe by "not" directly buying Bitcoin (some exposure) and not affected proportionally tied to the BTC price but to the performance of Greyscale.

I think this is ideal for those less tech savvy people that don't want to go into the hassle of creating wallets, safe keeping seed phrases and registering to exchanges, etc.

When I first read the title, I was just hoping for another PayPal style adoption. But it looks like that is not the case. JP Morgan simply don't want to take the risk of dealing with cryptocurrency directly. For them, dealing with Greyscale is safer than dealing directly in BTC or ETH. I don't have an issue here, but it would have been a big boost for Bitcoin to have one of the largest banks accepting it. Perhaps this is what we should expect from the other large institutions as well? Most of them would like to deal with cryptocurrency in an indirect manner.
745  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Elon Musk and Jack Dorsey agree to talk about bitcoin at an event in July on: July 25, 2021, 01:01:22 PM
He is playing along and his ultimate motive is to make money and he is doing that, anything he says in the cryptocurrency market i am not taking it seriously.

And what is wrong with that? If I was in Elon's position, and if I could influence millions of people and manipulate the stocks and cryptocurrencies, then I would do the same as well. The fault lies with the retarded people who blindly believes him. Look at how these idiots rushed to invest in Dogecoin, after Elon made a couple of tweets mentioning that coin. The fact that Doge was created to mock the entire idea of cryptocurrency didn't discouraged any of them to make huge investments with that shitcoin. So who is to blame here exactly?
746  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Reasons for newbies loss in bitcoin on: July 25, 2021, 12:51:14 PM
The problem with most newbie investors is that they receive the information falsely- they do think that investing into cryptocurrency is an 'easy-way out' which provides an absolute formula of getting rich.

Back in the last quarter of 2017, the price of bitcoin skyrocketed from $5,000 to $18,000. Most newbies and new investors jumped on that bandwagon and invested during the peak of its price. When its price dropped on 2018, those investors loss significant amount of money and they disseminate false information about BTC being a scam investment, etc.

So before you invest, understand first its technology and history. Purchasing an investment without even knowing what you are investing on is tantamount to digging your own grave.

It will be wrong to put all the blame on the noobs. I can understand their perspective. The media hypes Bitcoin (and the other cryptocurrencies) whenever there is a bull run. This is the time when a lot of the new users decide to make their investment with BTC. Unfortunately, this means that when they make their investment, the prices will be close to ATH levels. And when the correction phase starts, the mainstream media will just reverse their stance. They will publish articles such as "Will Bitcoin become worthless?" or "Is Bitcoin the biggest Ponzi scheme ever invented"... once again, the noobs will be influenced by this and they will do panic selling. This cycle repeats every 3-4 years.

It's true that the USA got a lot of medals.  I meant to say that China ranks high.  It is usually one of the top 3 countries.  If we leave the country's regime aside, it draws a successful graph as it stands.  But yes, if they gain the status of a more democratic country, there is no doubt that they will be more successful.

In the match that just ended, the Turkish women's volleyball team defeated China 3-0. China was a strong contender for the gold medal in women's volleyball. I'm very happy Smiley

I have a feeling that China is just sliding down slowly in terms of sports capabilities. When they topped the medals table in 2008, everyone was saying that China will dominate the Olympic games for many decades to come. That simply didn't happened and in 2012 they slipped to the 2nd place. And in 2016, they ended up at the 3rd spot (behind Great Britain). I guess this has something to do with the reducing number of young people in China. As a result of the one-child policy, most of the population is now middle-aged or elderly.
748  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Olympics 2020/2021 : Discussion & Predictions on: July 25, 2021, 12:31:05 PM
If i had to choose now which nation will be on top after the olympics i would go for china. The US Team will probably win a lot more medals than China during the Track and field competitions. In swimming the US is also strong but China can also win a few medals there so no big advantage for the US. Where i see the big advantage for China are the smaller and lesser known sports, like Badminton where China is favorite and also the shooting competitions. China already won their first gold medal there and others may follow.

In the Olympics, largest number of medals are allotted in athletics and some of the other disciplines such as gymnastics. China is weak in these and the US is expected to dominate.

You can check this:
https://www.gracenote.com/virtual-medal-table/
https://olympicmedalspredictions.com/

According to the expectations from most of the gamblers, US is expected to finish first with 40 golds, followed by China at 33. As the host nation, Japan may finish third. Sportsbooks have given the odds for US topping the medal table at 1.07 (92% probability). For China, the odds are +850.

But as we know from European countries, the statistics were distorted not only towards a decrease in deaths from covid, but also towards an increase - when death for any reason (but with an accompanying covid) was recorded as death from covid.
I strongly doubt that we can make any adequate estimates based on official data from corrupt government organizations.
I think we should wait for more or less objective factors that are almost impossible to distort - for example, excess mortality. If this strain is so terrible (I don't believe it) then we should see a major jump in this figure.

P.S. By the way, this morning I read on Twitter that it seems that a new strain has already been identified that is even more infectious and deadly. This series will never end  Grin
It is strange that the releases of the new episodes of this series coincide with the massive demonstrations against lockdowns that have covered many countries now  Roll Eyes

New strains are being reported from all over the world. Even the Delta strain in India has mutated into an even more contagious strain called Delta plus. Right now the focus is on this strain, because it is causing a lot of damage to countries such as Indonesia and Thailand. Even the UK has reported a spike in number of new infections, due to this particular strain. Dozens of strains have been identified till now, and one other strain that has been studied widely is the Colombian strain (B.1.621), that has spread to other countries.
750  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: T20 and T20I cricket prediction and discussion on: July 25, 2021, 12:11:16 PM
My comparison was with Bangladesh. The number of games Bangladesh plays with A list teams if we compare it with the number of games Zimbabwe plays then Bangladesh will have the upper hand. I always felt that the Zimbabwe team lacks experience, they have good players who lack a lot of international exposure. If they are allowed to play more matches with A teams then they will be able to gain more experience and improve their overall performance. Since countries like Zimbabwe do not generate a lot of revenue for ICC therefore they are left behind.

We have already discussed about this multiple times over the past few years. The problem with Zimbabwe is not that they lack talent. The real issue is that the skilled players don't remain in the team for long, due to political uncertainty and low wages. Historically, the Zimbabwe team has been dependent on the white players, although the population of whites in that country has fallen from 200,000 to 30,000 in the last three decades. Even now, they are over-dependent on players such as Brendan Taylor, Ryan Burl and Sean Williams. Now it needs to be seen whether these people have a real commitment towards a country, that has almost exterminated their ethnic group.

There are enough black players in the domestic tournaments, but these tournaments don't have the required quality. Especially in the batting department, Zimbabwe has struggled to groom enough black players. Trevor Madondo was the first quality black Zimbabwean batsmen, but unfortunately he passed away in 2001 at the age of 24. Then Tatenda Taibu impressed a lot of people with his batting skills. But he retired at the age of 29, when his form was at his peak. The reason given was that he considered cricket as against his Christian faith.

Shakib has established himself as a legendary all-rounder in Cricket, but he has a bad personality basically which is why it makes sense why the BCB have serious issues with him. Both of them are at fault here.

I agree with your opinion about Kohli being treated in a divine manner which needs to change. Also, Smith and Warner totally deserved the harsh treatment from CA since they needed to set an example which they clearly did.

All 3 boards dealt with their star players in different ways which attracted support and anger related to their decisions.

I agree with you on Shakib and Kohli. Shakib has a reputation of being short tempered, and clearly that hasn't helped things. However, I believe that Smith received disproportionately harsh treatment from the ICC and CA. When players can use saliva and sweat for changing the condition of the ball, then why only sandpaper is illegal? Also, it doesn't make any sense to ban two batsmen for ball tampering. Do you really believe that the Australian bowlers are all angels and they had no idea about this?
752  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What's causing the decline this time? on: July 23, 2021, 04:14:31 AM
It is clear that China is the main reason of the current market decline. After China banned bitcoin mining in their country many miners were forced to sell their bitcoins and close their mining sites.

I don't know how many times china ruined the entired market, i feel like almost every year china do this kind of thing to ruined entire market.

And another reason is ElClownMusk, she so hypocrite and i hope she stop manipulated the market.

China is not the sole reason. The closure of Bitcoin mines have contributed to the decline in a big way, but some role was played by the hostile actions of the government in the United States. Ever since Joe Biden was elected as the president, and Janet Yellen appointed as the secretary of the treasury, the government attitude towards cryptocurrency in that country have become more confrontational. On top of that, several lawmakers, including Elizabeth Warren and Joe Manchin have become more vocal nowadays.
753  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: T20 and T20I cricket prediction and discussion on: July 23, 2021, 03:54:11 AM
Australia is a far better team than Bangladesh and for them, it will be a cakewalk to win the series. The present series would be won by Bangladesh iI do not think they will face any issue. I still think out of the three Zimbabwe might win won. Yesterday's match was a one-sided one as Bangladesh dominated both bowling and batting. I hope Zimbabwe works on their weakness for the next T20 match.

Apart from 2-3 players such as Blessing Muzarabani, Sikandar Raza and Brendan Taylor, the rest of Zimbabwe squad is not up to a level that is skilled enough to take part in international cricket. If they perform this bad when playing against Bangladesh, then you can imagine what would happen when they take on some of the big 3 teams. ICC needs to rethink on their Zimbabwe strategy. $12 million in annual funds poured in to Zimbabwe every year for the last two decades haven't given any returns. If a fraction of that amount was given to associate nations such as Nepal or PNG, then they would have performed much better than this.
754  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ FIFA World Cup 2022: Qualifying Games For Qatar on: July 22, 2021, 07:55:04 AM
@Sithara007 in the end FIfA decisions are motivated by money, and where they feel they won’t get much profits they avoid going in that direction. However I feel in the near future FIFA will be forced to change their stance, and the fans will play a major role in their decision, but for now I don’t expect much from FIFA.

It is not a money minded decision. FIFA want more representation from Asia and Africa, when compared to Europe and Americas. Because they want to spread the sport and want to retain its monopoly. CONMEBOL has only 10 member nations, and they have been given 6.5 slots. And even with the additional slots for Asia, they still have only 8 slots for 46 member nations. It is a very difficult compromise. If you want more diversity, then obviously you may need to give slots to some of the weaker teams over more deserving ones. So in 2026, it is very much possible to see teams like Iraq and Syria managing to qualify, while higher ranking sides such as Peru and Venezuela may fail to do so. CONMEBOL is allotted only 6.5 slots, but they have 8 member nations having a FIFA ranking of 35 or above.
755  Economy / Economics / Re: Are Renewable Energy resources the future? on: July 22, 2021, 07:30:12 AM
Another problem with those renewable sources of energy and other devices that use it is that they use a lot of materials that are not as abundant on the surface of the earth and that also pollute a lot, so they are not the panacea that environmentalists wants to make us believe, and when we add that it is more expensive to generate energy with those methods then it is understandable why they are still not as popular as the fossil fuel alternatives.

That is not always the case. For example, for the manufacturing of solar panels, all you need is Aluminum and Silica, and they are quite abundant. The minor components such as acrylic plastic and copper cables are also not that difficult to source. And once the cells are damaged or expired, they can be recycled with minimal effort. Same for wind power generation as well. The turbines are mostly made of steel, and secondary materials include fiberglass, plastic, copper and aluminium. Tidal energy turbines also have similar composition.
756  Economy / Economics / Re: Who is Happier: Stock investors or Bitcoin investors on: July 22, 2021, 07:13:37 AM
Define "happy" on that part? Successful? Gain lots of profits?

No need to actually pinpoint the difference of gains since then. We should just focus on our own handled investment either as a stock or crypto investors.

I'd rather not think outside of my circle of investment and how others are working their way to becoming successful at their own means.

The term used here is wrong. Rather than asking who is happier, the OP should ask who is more successful. It doesn't make sense to ask whether an investor is happy or not. He can be happy due to many reasons. Happiness and profit are not the same. Ideally we can say that those who get more profit should be more happier, but arguments can be made. In other words, the OP can ask who is getting rich, or who is getting more ROI. But if you use the word "happy", then under these circumstances it really gets weird.
757  Economy / Economics / Re: Economy after COVID-19 on: July 22, 2021, 06:44:59 AM
It is true that not everyone is willing to receive vaccines, as is the case in my country. Maybe this is because there is a lot of news that some people die after 1 day of being vaccinated. This is what our citizens have ordered, if it happens the government is not responsible and this is also a cause for anxiety even though many people also feel that after the vaccine nothing happens. Maybe the medical staff should be more observant about the condition of the recipient of the vaccine..they should be more open if one's body is not strong against vaccines so that the death rate can be reduced.

Some people with criminal mindset are spreading such unsubstantiated rumors. The governments have already published the data of people who faced adverse reaction as a result of vaccination. There were a handful of deaths after vaccination, but most of them were due to other causes. Till now 3.71 billion doses of the vaccine has been administered around the globe. Only a few hundred deaths have been reported (and even among them the vast majority may be due to comorbidities). IMO, those who are spreading these rumors must be arrested and charged with murder.

The second franchise league organized by the ECB, The Hundred starts from today (it will take place along with the T20 Blast, which is organized by the counties). The first match is between Oval Invincibles and Manchester Originals, and will start at 4:30 pm GMT. The Oval side includes big names such as Sam Curran, Sam Billings, Tom Curran, Saqib Mahmood, Sunil Narine, Jason Roy and Tabraiz Shamsi (who controversially replaced Sandeep Lamichhane two days ago), while the Manchester squad features Jos Buttler, Carlos Brathwaite, Lockie Ferguson, Colin Munro, Ollie Robinson and Phil Salt.
759  Economy / Economics / Re: Can cryptocurrencies replace fiat currencies on: July 21, 2021, 06:37:14 PM
I think when the certain period passes that Cryptocurrency will replace fiat honestly. That might not happen in 10-15 years but in a long run 50+ years i think it might happen as we evolve.Governments and central banks are fighting against it hard but they will end up losing in the end. El Salvador already made future with accepting bitcoin. We will see a lot more countries doing the same thing in a few months or years.

I don't think that it needs 50 years. Because already we have countries recognizing Bitcoin as legal tender (El Salvador). Both US Dollar and Bitcoin are legal tender in El Salvador and I don't think that one needs to replace the other. Let both fiat currency and cryptocurrency co-exist, so that those who want either of the two can do it as per their convenience. And by recognizing Bitcoin as legal tender, El Salvador has classified it as a currency. Those who have made profit with Bitcoin doesn't need to pay capital gains tax as a result of this classification.

You have to watch sports events live. Else, the excitement won't be there. What is the point in watching a game, if you already know who is the winner?
I've watched a lot of recorded boxing matches. as long you don't know what the score is or who the winner is, watching a recorded game can feel the same as the live one. but most of the time there will be someone who'll spoil it for you or you will accidentally hear, read, or see it on a news.

Boxing is a different game altogether. The score-lines may or may not correspond to the actual performance. One good example is the first match between Canelo Álvarez and Gennady Golovkin. Out of the three judges, Dave Moretti scored 115-113 in favor of Golovkin, while Adalaide Byrd scored 118-110 in favor of Álvarez. How can two judges have such different scorecards, when they are watching the same game? So in boxing, the winner of the game may not always be the one who gave the best performance.
