761  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: People who gamble are degenerates, change my mind. on: March 06, 2019, 12:28:56 PM
You're obviously talking about gambling addicts. I mean if you're gambling every single day, then that would make someone a gambling addict.
Are these people degenerates? I don't think so, they're people who have a problem. I wouldn't call an addict a degenerate.

They're people like you and me, who simply got addicted to gambling. Shaming them doesn't help anyone, your choice of words makes them seems as though they're less than human.
A little bit of compassion goes a long way and as long as society views people with an addiction as weak or degenerate, the more difficult it becomes for these people to seek the help that they so desperately need.

May I also add that while you say these people are degenerates, you're also helping perpetuate that behavior by promoting a gambling website in your signature.
762  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Blockfi offers compound interest on crypto savings on: March 06, 2019, 12:10:28 PM
It's not worth it for me. I would consider doing this if it was coming from a legacy bank, granted that everything is insured, but no freaking way I will trust any crypto related service to offer these products.

I think my main beeves would be that I'd be funding shorters and opening the way to some form of fractional reservism becoming more mainstream. Neither are my favourite things. It will be interesting to see what demographic does go for it.

Yeah that would be my main issue with this too. You basically hand them control over your Bitcoins to do -whatever-.
I do see the appeal for people who don't want to trade themselves, but I think there are better ways to increase your Bitcoin holdings, without having to actually trade yourself.
763  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Crypto game with Bitcoin payouts - revenue model on: March 06, 2019, 11:37:05 AM
Are you also planning on adding certain perks which players can purchase?
If that would be possible, it would greatly help you in adding some sustainable revenue streams, without having to rely on income purely from advertisements.

Just to be clear, I'm not suggesting to turn this into a full-on gambling experience, I'd keep the majority of gameplay features free.
764  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Bitcoin Casino Affiliate Marketing Tips on: March 05, 2019, 08:54:30 PM
You're talking about online presence by having a good and established website. But how about any individual who don't have a website though. Do you think it's possible to be earn as a affiliate? I don't know but I tried early and it's really difficult to get someone to sign under you and play on the site regularly so that you can earn passively. Although there are success stories I've read around 2017 here, but I don't know how those guy did it so for me it's not that easy to be a Bitcoin casino affiliate.
A website is a must for affiliate marketing. You need to write contents regularly to keep your visitors active in your website. You need to find a niche which you are interested. It's a long process so without having interest in the niche you will find it frustrating to carry on.

When you start the website you don't just start pitching your affiliate links. Build up a community, build up reputation. Present yourself as someone who is capable of giving solutions and be honest with what you say. People will follow you. Once you will successfully build up a community then you can recommend whatever you want. You will know what they need.

I don't know if a website is really a must.
I've just been writing articles about gambling websites on my Steemit blog and have done quite well in terms of earnings.

It helps if you have a large following though.
765  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ethereum upgraded as Constantinople, St. Petersburg go live on: March 05, 2019, 04:15:39 PM
Can't believe they missed the chance to call this upgrade Istanbul, now that would've been the perfect name Tongue
Jokes aside, I'm glad they issued this fairly quickly. Now I hope they don't find any other serious security issues.
766  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Bitcoin affiliate program system on: March 05, 2019, 02:54:23 PM
This already exists, you can set up a complete affiliate system with AffiliateWP and they have support for Bitcoin.

From their website:

Problem solved Tongue

Btw, literally took 5 seconds searching on Google to find this.
767  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: “Cryptos” - A new tv show about cryptocurrency on: March 05, 2019, 12:45:30 PM
I can't really find too much information about it, I mean their IMDB page is still fairly barren.
https://www.imdb.com/title/tt8838730/

Could be very good for all I know, but it's really too soon to make any statements about it.
I've just read this article, but even that doesn't give away much.

768  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Utopian, an Open Source contribution platform has launched an IndieGogo Campaign on: March 05, 2019, 12:18:42 PM
Just a quick update.

So far there's been 860 dollars raised, with 28 left to go.
I personally would have expected a little bit more by now, especially considering how many people have been promoting this.

770  Economy / Gambling / Re: ⭐ Crypto-Games.net ⭐ 4 Years Old ⭐ No bet delay on dice every Monday! ⭐ on: March 04, 2019, 10:27:51 AM
No speed delay, good new feature in Crypto-games for little player with only small bet like me although its only every monday.

Oh right, thanks for reminding me!
Still gotta get used to no-bet-delay Mondays Tongue

At least it makes the Mondays a little bit more bearable Cheesy
771  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / What do you think of Utopian on the Steem blockchain? on: March 03, 2019, 07:19:44 PM
Utopian is a platform on the Steem blockchain which rewards various contributions to open-source projects.
They do this by giving out high-value upvotes to articles with details of the contributions made to open-source projects.

Contributions are curated by moderators and they get a certain score which determines the value of the upvote.

Current website: https://join.utopian.io/

Now, the reason why I'm asking this is because they're currently running a crowdfunding campaign for building a completely new platform.
They seem to want to create a more standalone platform, with more social features than are currently available on Steem.

A large part of their back-end will still be running on the Steem blockchain, but with their (future) new platform, submissions will be much more visible and easier to filter through.

Link to crowdfunding campaign: https://www.indiegogo.com/projects/utopian-empowering-open-source-innovation/x/4464230#/

What do you guys think of this? Is this something that will ultimately be of great benefit to the open-source ecosystem in general? Or is it a wasted effort?
772  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Utopian, an Open Source contribution platform has launched an IndieGogo Campaign on: March 03, 2019, 04:49:22 PM
For those of you who don't know what Utopian is, they're a platform built on the Steem blockchain which incentivizes people to contribute to open-source projects.
You basically write a blog post with the details of your contribution and they will give you a significant reward for it.
Reward sizes depend on the curator's rating of your contribution.

More info: https://join.utopian.io/

Well, now they've launched an IndieGogo campaign to build a completely new platform called Utopian Colony.
This platform has a lot more features than their previous implementation on the Steem blockchain.

You will be able to build a profile and showcase your contributions. Utopian can then reward you for any work you put into open-source projects.

I've done the post counts earlier today, but as DogecoinMachine isn't feeling well today, payments will be shortly delayed.

It happens, don't worry about it DogecoinMachine. I hope it's not the flu at least, was down for a week because of that Tongue
Feel better soon!
774  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 1000 Bitcoin: The World's Most Expensive Prius on: March 01, 2019, 10:51:21 PM
Look, if I were that guy, I wouldn't regret buying that car, even if I paid 5000 Bitcoins for it.
Back in 2013, I also spent a couple of Bitcoins on stuff that's already broken by now, like a Samsung Galaxy S5.

I don't regret buying it, because I don't live in the past.

What a sad life you must live if you always have to think back on how you've missed out or whatever.
775  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: BUNKER WALLET : the safest crypto-wallet ecosystem | investors, partners needed. on: March 01, 2019, 04:55:02 PM

I'm looking for few passionate people, like me, with a solid track-record in security & hardware engineering.
Looking also for one/few investors to join forces and give life to the project.

Got any references to back that statement up? What exactly do you bring to the table and do you have a LinkedIn account to prove it?
Also, what kind of guarantees will you be providing for your possible investors?

150 BTC isn't exactly a small amount and it seems as though you have very little to show at this point in time.
No working prototype?
776  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: ***CAN SOMEONE HELP ME WITH COINPOT PLEASE!!*** on: March 01, 2019, 04:20:33 PM
Yeah you won't get an answer from them, they arguably have the worst support of any website I know.
I've contacted them before for minor issues, but never even got a response from them.

Heck, I wasn't even asking anything weird or anything, just if they could check something in my account.
777  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Steem Added to Huobi, Price Shoots Up! on: March 01, 2019, 03:32:36 PM
So, Steem recently got added to the Huobi exchange and the effects of that are reflected in the current price.
I'm personally very pleased with this, since I'm now earning about 20% more on my posts.

https://steemit.com/steem/@steemitblog/steem-now-on-huobi-exchange

I'm just hoping the price keeps increasing to $1 again.
778  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: ICOs false marketing is destructive. ICOs must provide real & honest values on: March 01, 2019, 02:51:54 PM
Yeah sure, they should provide honest information, but as long as ICOs are largely unregulated this isn't going to happen any time soon.
Which is why I just stay away from ICOs in general.

Instead of trying to get money from the public, they should just look for private investors and start their project like any other company would.
779  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Celebrities you probably don't know were(are) aggressive gamblers on: March 01, 2019, 02:37:41 PM
Uhm, is anyone surprised that Charlie Sheen is in that list?
That's the one person I would fulle expect to be a gambler Tongue

I am a little bit surprised by Ashton Kutcher though.
780  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: What do you actually spend your cryptocurrency on? on: March 01, 2019, 11:08:30 AM
Thanks for sharing information about this service. Unfortunately, it's not available in my country... Do they accept Bitcoins directly, or they are just using one of payment proccessors like Bitpay like most similar services are doing?

Sadly they do not accept Bitcoins directly, but they use a payment processor like Bitpay.
It's not perfect, but I'm already glad that they accept Bitcoin in the first place.
