761  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will bitcoin go down below $20,000. on: July 21, 2021, 06:11:52 PM
It will depend on the range you are talking about. At the moment it could be said that what happened in 2017/2018 has already happened or that, it is the scene we are watching already. In 2018, the price went from $20,000 to $4,000 and currently it has come down from $64k to around $30k, you can see the difference and that it has already happened. It also affecting the price of altcoins just like it deed in same circumstances.

It is too early to make that comparison, because the prices haven't bottomed out yet. Going by what we had in 2018 (and before that in 2014/15), it is very much possible that the prices can go down by 80% or more. That would mean the prices crashing to $10,000-$12,000 and staying there for a few months. But personally I believe that such a scenario doesn't have a great deal of probability, because from what I heard, institutions are already making their plans to make large purchases if the prices go down to 20K-25K range.

Between 1956 and 1992, out of 10 times, the USSR won the medals table 7 times while US won 3 times. So USSR was clearly dominating during this period. Only after the disintegration of the USSR (from 1996), once again US came out on the top. For a while it looked like China may offer some sort of competition to the monopoly by the United States. And in 2008, they managed to overtake the United States. But after that, due to some unknown reason China fell from their dominance and the US once again become dominant.
763  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Does Signature campaign increase ICO credibility? I see few good ICOs recently on: July 21, 2021, 01:10:52 PM
Signature campaign (through bounties) is one of the most effective ways for small and medium sized projects to get some exposure. Most of the potential investors for the new ICO projects may be the ones who either have account in this forum, or visit the forum topics with a guest login. So a signature campaign, if executed effectively can attract at least some potential investors to the ICO project. Another advantage is that unlike other promotional campaigns, the promoters don't need to spend their money early on. They need to pay the bounty hunters only if the project is successful.
764  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Will BTC fall below $20,000? Bargain hunting? on: July 21, 2021, 12:57:16 PM
I'm still not sure bitcoin can fall like that. because if you look at the bitcoin support point, it is at 30k. and it lasted quite a while, even after the china ban the prices stayed there. now the effects of all that have begun to fade. so there is no more reason to make bitcoin fall any deeper. unless something else bad happens to the bitcoin market. if that happens then the price of bitcoin could fall below 20k. and that would make the altcoin market very scary.

If Bitcoin can go down to $29,000 from an ATH of $62,000 in two months, then it is definitely possible for it to go from $29,000 to $20,000. You can check the historical charts for Bitcoin. Back in 2014/15, in a few months time Bitcoin crashed from $1,200 to $200. And the same happened in 2018, when the prices came down to $3,000 from an ATH of $20,000 that was achieved in 2017. Volatility is a part of Bitcoin. If you want to be successful with your BTC investments, then you need to know how to effectively deal with it.

Agreed with Dinesh Karthik. He has just started, but his language seems to be much better than some of the other options such as Gavaskar and Manjrekar. But personally I would prefer non-Indian commentators, such as Danny Morrison, Simon Doull, Michael Holding, Isa Guha, Ian Bishop and Nasser Hussain. IMO, only Harsha Bhogle has enough skills to be classified along with these commentators. Perhaps the Indian viewers prefer someone like Gavaskar, because they will mix the Indian English phrases in the commentatory.

Chainalysis cryptocurrency adoption report from 2020[/url] (scroll down to the table behind the link). The report is on all crypto, but I think it is without a doubt that the most popular cryptocurrency in Venezuela is Bitcoin.

Yes, things might have changed in a year, but since then the popularity of crypto has only been growing, especially in third-world countries, it would be logical to assume that the attitude towards Bitcoin has at least remained at the same level as before in Venezuela

I’m talking here exclusively about everyday use ranking, no mining or asset volume are included in these calculations.

There is no doubt that Bitcoin (and some of the other cryptocurrencies) are insanely popular in Venezuela. But given their small population (20 million?) and relatively low purchasing power, I don't think that Venezuela accounts for a large share of the global cryptocurrency volumes. The numbers for Cuba will be even lower. Countries with relatively high purchasing power, such as the United States and Japan will be on top of the list. In terms of adoption, Venezuela will be one of the top-most countries. But the same can't be said about absolute volumes.
767  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: T20 and T20I cricket prediction and discussion on: July 21, 2021, 08:03:44 AM
Pakistan made less run in their innings and also they do not have the bowling line up to defend this small target.

Overall it was a bad series for Pakistan. They have lost both the ODI and T20 series and it will shatter their confidence before going into T20 World cup. They should have shown better performances specially in T20 matches.

Out of the 6 matches, they lost 5. So overall, it was a bad series. But there were some brilliant individual performance from the Pakistan players. Fakhar Zaman and Babar Azam did well with the bat, while Shaheen Afridi was impressive with the ball. So it was not all doom and gloom. There are a lot of positives that they can take from this tour. And for the T20 world cup, they definitely have an advantage, because the matches are going to take place in UAE and Oman, and the players are well suited to those conditions.
768  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ODI cricket and general cricketing discussion [self - mod] on: July 21, 2021, 07:51:04 AM
@Sithara007 the key factor in Srilanka defeat was their overconfidence, and sloppy fielding which helped India secure a win. Furthermore if you’ll saw Chahar only played the basic shots, and that’s something Srilanka can ask it’s bowlers why did they allow him so much space to settle and dictate the proceedings.

Sri Lanka is going through a very rough patch now. Some of the players suspended for the bio-bubble breach in England, a few players injured and finally some of the big names out of the squad because of the dispute with SLCB over the contracts. But these are not valid excuses, because India is also missing many of their main players. The difference here is that India can perform well even with their irregular players, while Sri Lanka is unable to do that. Even many of the former players are now making statements against the current players.
769  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ODI cricket and general cricketing discussion [self - mod] on: July 20, 2021, 06:12:00 PM
After a lot of drama, the Indian team won today's match against Sri Lanka. However, we have to admit that the Sri Lankan team has played very well today. However, with the help of Deepak Chahar's extraordinary performance at the last moment, India won the match. I would like to give full credit to Deepak Chahar for winning this match.

I will not agree when you claim that the Sri Lankan team has played well. In that case, they should have won the match. They had Indian struggling at 116/5, and then again at 193/7. If they lost the match from that position, then it is definitely their fault. They had a good chance of levelling the series. How can they allow a tail-end batsmen like Chahar to score a half-century? Individual performances were there from some of the Sri Lankan players (Charith Asalanka and Avishka Fernando in batting, and Wanindu Hasaranga in bowling). But they failed to perform as a team.
770  Economy / Economics / Re: Vietnam Becomes Latest Country to Turn to Crypto on: July 20, 2021, 05:35:15 PM
He's probably right. The future is clear and there's no doubt that digital currency will grow. The earlier you adopt the earlier you succeed with this adoption and your country will probably have an edge compare to those who don't use this technology.

I don't find anything positive out of his statement. The digital currency he is referring here is the digital version of fiat, and not cryptocurrencies such as Bitcoin or Ethereum. They are already moving ahead with CBDC project (eCNY or digital Yuan). And at this point, they are turning increasingly hostile towards cryptocurrency, because they believe that Bitcon pose a challenge to eCNY. Anyway, it is too much to expect that an authoritarian country such as China would take conciliatory stance towards decentralized cryptocurrency.
771  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ODI cricket and general cricketing discussion [self - mod] on: July 20, 2021, 05:22:56 PM
Throughout the ODI series ZimvsBAN Bangladeshi players played so well, their is mixture of performance both senior and junior which is great sign. Bangladesh have some quality finisher to sweep the game. Congratulations Tamim for century and Bangladesh win the series 0-3

I thought that Zimbabwe had the advantage after they made a total of close to 300. But once again, they lost a match from a winning position. The team coordination is simply inexistent among the Zimbabwe players. They could have won at least one ODI match. That would have helped them to climb to the 12th position in the ODI league. Now their prospects really look gloomy. Their next ODI series is against Ireland, and if they perform poorly in Ireland, then it is all over for them. I don't think that they will be able to get a series win, with their current form.
772  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Red flags in the bear market.FBI Warns&Dow plunge. on: July 20, 2021, 02:38:12 PM
I don't understand one thing. What is the point in saying that the dip in Bitcoin prices is caused by the NYSE market crash? It should be the other way around, right? If the stock markets are down, then the cryptocurrency prices should be going up. If the stocks markets give good returns, then the attractiveness of cryptocurrency diminishes, if I am not wrong. If the same is true with gold (when stock market goes down, the gold prices go up), then I don't understand how it can be different for cryptocurrencies such as Bitcoin.
773  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Do You Want Tesla To Accept Doge? on: July 20, 2021, 02:24:49 PM
People was tired of what Elon said, many of us have been fooled by him, and now is what should happen, many of us loosing a lot of money with what he said before, just wait people will get mad at him and boycott tesla everywhere, this might just happen if he keeps playing with citizens.
I think he was going too far with this matter.

I can't find a tweet or a statement from Elon Musk where he endorsed Dogecoin. He mentioned about Doge on a few occasions. If anyone invested in Dogecoin after seeing these tweets, then he can blame himself. And now we are heading towards a bearish phase. And at this point, always remember one important thing. Back in 2018, when we had a similar market crash, Bitcoin went down by more than 80%. On the other hand, almost all the altcoins went down by more than 95%. ETH crashed from $1500 to less than $100.
774  Economy / Economics / Re: Will the popularity of cryptocurrency continue? on: July 20, 2021, 02:11:20 PM
From what I could see, the popularity continues to increase across all the age groups. A decade or so ago, most of the Bitcoin users were in the 20s. Now those users are in their 30s, and have more spending power. And at the same time, Bitcoin continues to be popular among the younger users (>30 yrs). And after PayPal allowed the purchase of Bitcoin in it's platform, there have been a surge from the middle-aged users as well. And despite the recent dip in the prices, the user base continues to expand. At no point during the 2009-2021 period, the Bitcoin user base has decreased on a month-to-month basis.
775  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Internet Computer (ICP) - what's that? on: July 20, 2021, 01:31:53 PM
thanks for this info. that's why ICP token price is so much high. but right now its falling because of the whole market is falling apart and even eth and bitcoin is in blood bath.
i am very positive about ICP token and its developments and hope that in future it will be a success but there are huge competitors.

ICP overpriced its initial offering. A few weeks ago, the market cap was as high as $75 billion, before the prices crashed in a matter of hours. This may be a good project, but I don't understand going for such a high valuation. The Ethereum ICO had an initial soft-cap of just $18 million. And these guys are going for almost 4,000 times of that amount. And for ICP, I don't think that the prices have bottomed out yet. The cryptocurrency market as a whole is looking bearish and for overpriced coins such as ICP, the future outlook is quite bleak.
776  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is it worth investing in coins you believe in? on: July 20, 2021, 12:54:15 PM
In the past I made this mistake. I invested in some coins, because I found their vision very attractive. But I learnt my lesson the hard way. In cryptocurrency sector, having a good vision doesn't matter much, unless the promoters and the developers are really committed to the project. In many cases, once the ICO is completed and the promoters get millions in their bank accounts, they go to the hibernation mode. Investors will be stuck with the coins and tokens, as the development activity comes to a complete halt. It is a very tricky situation.
777  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ODI cricket and general cricketing discussion [self - mod] on: July 20, 2021, 12:42:15 PM
I'm just watching this match. Zimbabwe's player was really batting enough well. Now I want to see how the players of Bangladesh perform. 10 overs are over. Bangladesh scored 57 runs without losing a wicket. Great start for Bangladesh. If they do not lose any wicket in the next 10 overs, then I think Bangladesh will win this match.

There is no team cohesion in Zimbabwe. When the bowlers perform well, their batsmen doesn't back them up. And today, their batsmen put up a total close to 300, but the bowlers are looking pathetic out there. Donald Tiripano just now conceded 11 runs from a single ball (a waist-high full toss that was put out for boundary and then the free hit which was hit for a six). For the Zimbabwe fans who are watching this match, it will be quite depressing. The body language of the players suggest that they are not aiming for the win.
778  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Will Cardano overthrow Ethereum? on: July 20, 2021, 12:26:50 PM
I don't think so, although everything could be possible in cryptocurrency, it is so hard to tell that cardano would overthrow ethereum coin. Since bitcoin now becomes more famous, some says ethereum 2.0 version makes market crazy, it is difficult for cardano coin to overthrow ethereum even for a couple of years. But that's only my perception, it could be true and also it could be wrong if cardano would overtake ethereum in the future.

Ethereum hasn't done any wonders at the market. There was a lot of hype regarding ETH 2.0, but it turned out to be a damp squib. The developers are going for a "phased" implementation, because the testing is not yet completed. They are worried that security issues may be revealed and the hackers and criminals may use it to steal tokens. Security has always been an issue with Ethereum. When compared to Bitcoin, the protection being offered by the ETH chain is very low. After the cryptopia exchange got hacked, the promoters even came out and blamed the security issues within ETH for the hack. And it is not an isolated incident.
779  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Olympics 2020/2021 : Discussion & Predictions on: July 20, 2021, 07:34:07 AM

This is slightly misleading, because you are not comparing apples to apples. In the table, USA has participated in 27 editions, while the USSR is taken as a separate entity with just 9 editions. A better way to look at this would be to take the average number of medals per edition. For USA, that comes to 37.8 gold medals, while for the USSR the same figure is 43.9 gold medals. If you want to make a direct comparison, the add up Russian Empire (1896-1917), Unified Team (1992) and Russian Federation (1992- x) to the medal tally of USSR. Same with Germany as well. You need to add the medals won by FRG, GDR, United Team of Germany (1956-1964) and the German Empire.
780  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ODI cricket and general cricketing discussion [self - mod] on: July 20, 2021, 07:21:04 AM
If we consider Bangladesh after 2000, then Bangladesh has improved a lot. But I am saying that in the last 2/3 years, during 2016/2017, the Bangladesh team was in a very stable position. But now they are not stable. Moreover, the time is coming for experienced players like Shakib Tamim to retire. In the next few years, the Bangladesh team will face disaster.

Shakib is 34 years old, and that means that he has 2-3 years of international cricket left with him. Mahmudullah Riyad is another player who is nearing his retirement age. But Tamim still has another 4-5 years. So the BCB has enough time in their hand, to groom young talent. Liton Das has performed consistently this year. Taskin Ahmed is another young player who has performed well in recent times. There is no dearth of talent in Bangladesh. The board just need to make sure that these young players are properly guided.
