We need to get exchanges, block explorers and miners to update too.  Quite a task!

Finally got wallet to build

Onwords with the guide!

Just finished building five. Have to do a few chores and then I'll check that start-many with cold wallets is working.

Wow, the server I'm testing Thrones on has 42 connections to the throne network.  Growing!

42 connections? Nice!

I hope people who host Full Nodes switch over to Thrones to receive payment for their valiant service.

As soon as we are happy with the builds with Throne support, we'll do a big communication push to get people to update.

I reckon we give miners 1 month to update their software before enforcement. Hopefully any price rises in that period will more than compensate them for the loss of 40% of the block reward.

We have to keep everybody happy if we can.

Also, hash rate has crept up to 50TH/s.

i did not read here very close last weeks, but the latest talk here seems to be very interesting.
whats this thrones can someone tell me as i never heard from it for crowncoin?
you guys working on a: a decentralised application platform with incentivised nodes? that sounds really interesting.
how many people are in the crownteam?

will watch here more close for sure.

I'm fairly new to the team but glad to be helping a project that has been around for a long time.  Its a good stable coin to develop new services on. I've been involve with a few coins with dodgy wallets and stuck chains over the last few years.  Nothing like that here.  Good solid code.

The fact it is sha256 merge mineable also attracted my attention.

We are just implementing "Thrones" which are our version of masternodes which will receive 40% of the block reward in return for providing decentralised services.  Dash nodes work so well that we have re-used a lot of Evan Duffield's code.  Why reinvent the wheel?  Instead of "Darksend", Thrones will be providing other services.

We're a small team.  Our dev, chaositec, is sometimes time limited due to his day job.  We're really looking to build the team and the community.  We particularly need help from people willing to help us test Thrones and then contribute to helping others get started.

You can't provide services without a decent service network! Wink

Here's the the projected income from running Thrones

Thrones Income

I've taken the liberty of pasting a snapshot from that link:

I think there is a chance that hosting costs could be a lot higher than that in the future but that will be when Thrones are hosting services and when the price of CRW will more than compensate.

Right hand upper side under the coin logo

Nice buying going on on c cex!

I can't for the life of me see where the market volume figure is on c-cex!

lol, hiding in plain view!

Right, who knows how to run Darkcoin/Dash masternodes and wants to earn some coins?  Thrones proudly re-use Evan Duffield's 2nd tier network code and we need some help writing guides and helping the community set up thrones.

Right.  Have compiled successfully on 14.04.  Will try again on 16.04 later.

Just waiting on the blockchain to sync and i'll be ready to test the first few cold nodes.

Did Chaositec get the pool working?  Would be good to point some hash power with the new build at it to test block reward payments.

Could we update the thread title to use the word masternodes somehow?  People won't initially know what a throne is when they see the word. We'd need to update the OP too.

I reckon people don't realise that we're putting together a decentralised application platform with incentivised nodes.

I agree with that!

We have loads of tech and no PR

We've had help from legendary Dev's such as domob to implement time stamping, name stamping and merge mining. Chaositec (and others) for Throne's (masternodes), but we haven't had time to promote it all Sad

Can we work on a big update once we iron out the guide?

An update would be good but we need some other ideas.  Once a few people take notice of what we're doing I think things will grow from there.

How about a giveaway or competition? I'd be happy to give away a few throne's worth of coins.

Any ideas?

Right, time for some long overdue testing.

I'm going to try to set up 5 nodes/thrones using a hot/cold arrangement and windows QT.

I'm very excited about the potential that Thrones have.  It could be the perfect decentralised application platform if we do things right.

Bittrex is doing a code review. I am travelling, hence the silence. But there is code being submitted that i review when i have time.

So you took the ICO money, gone off on your travels and left the coin in limbo on trex.

This does not look good at all.

Lol, but it also doesn't look bad.

The dev is on a business trip he announced to the community in advance whilst Bittrex get on with their thing.

Not exactly cause for concern.

Mac QT seems to be running fine for me.  Some more confirmations would be welcome though.

Code:

either reindex, or redownload blockchain, block 885532 seems to be the problem.

reindexing fixed it  Smiley

I wonder what caused the issue then?  Thanks for your help identifying the problem.

This is the roadmap as it currently stands.  I'm looking forward to demonstrating the awesomeness of our plans.

I personally don't intend to make excuses.

We are we we are.  The best I can do right now is to take steps to stop anybody updating without knowledge of throne payments and offer a refund to any miners who feel they were misinformed.

At the moment, I believe that the majority if not all groups using the new version were aware.  I don't think it is right or fair to accuse of us of deliberately stealing.

Updates will follow today.

@stonehedge,

Thank you for looking at the problems from a miner/pool ops perspective & finally addressing my/their concerns.

Yes, stealing is a strong word & one I don't like to use any more than you like to hear it - but it is what it is. When something is taken from someone else without their knowledge or consent, it is stealing - weather intentional or not, the word is the same. I think it is also worth mentioning that the amounts taken are not so much the issue, it is the percentage - 40%, which is a large amount, that was the bigger issue.

The rollout of thrones has been pretty shambolic from beginning to this point in time tbh, but I am happy that someone on the crowncoin team has finally decided to address the issues instead of trying to make excuses or posting abusive comments - & for that I commend you. Hopefully others on your team will follow suit.

I look forward to seeing the thread OP, the website & gitrepo updated with clear information about the state of play regarding thrones so that everyone who wishes to get involved will fully understand what software to use & how to use it. When this has been done & I see that any coins requested to be returned are done so, I will consider pointing my hash back at CRW & supporting the network again.

Crowncoin has a $10k marketcap, used to be $2k!
What do you expect, seriously?
There's no premine, no ICO, no bullshit.
We have been 100% open about everything that's going on and the reasons for it (I can cite)

We have 0 dev funds, Our old dev left... And look at us now!

We now have a part time caretaker dev that's very experienced. We have the code for a paid full node network. New members to the team that bring a hell of alot of experience and connections, and your moaning about not having a guide ready, and 40% of coins going to Thrones? Miners can choose to not mine Crowncoin, or stick with the old code, you know?

New miners that are unaware of current development are here for profit. I don't care about those guy's, they will return once crowncoin becomes profitable again, simple as that. They wont feel ROBBED like you suggest lol and we certainly aren't stealing anything! You can set a Throne up right now! Or do you want me to come to your PC and do it for you? Even then i'd mess it up.

Why don't you do a guide on how you set a Throne up? Or shall I give Evan Duffield a call and get him to personally tell you how to set a Throne up? Coz ya no a no him an ezz part of devvy team.

We're barebone here, 3-15k marketcap, no full time dev...

What your asking for is a fully functional dev team with PR skills, github skills, linux skills, C++ skills, HTML skills, contacts, money, time. If we had all of this crowncoin wouldn't be worth 3-15k!

WE DONT HAVE ALL OF THESE THINGS AND HAVE NEVER SAID WE HAVE. (Although with time we are building a great team here and we soon will have all these great skills come together)

Get a grip on what we are capable of.

I'm frustrated that we have made some mistakes.  On balance, its good to find out issues from other people's perspective.

At best, we're learning from mistakes. At worst, we're getting free bumps.

One of the problems we have at the moment is that we have several devs who work part time on the project and indeed many of us have day jobs that have lead to things not being as organised as they should be.

It is my responsibility to ensure that this improves.

Nd that is why I'm working on getting a build server running

Do that and you'll be a popular man. Having trouble finding a dev with a working windows build environment!
