801  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Avalon 6? Any owners out there? on: November 14, 2015, 10:38:47 AM
I would love to know if these can be undervolted in the future I'd really like a couple of these or s7s to just hash at home for a year or so since I live in NZ and doubt I can resell easily.

I thought these were string, so you'd need <12V PSUs.
802  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ANTMINER S7 is available at bitmaintech.com with 4.86TH/s, 0.25J/GH on: November 13, 2015, 10:57:40 PM
You have a broken miner.

Is it just me, or does it seems like the S7's are one of the most problematic Bitmain products ever ?

Weirder problems than S5 at least. I wonder why though.

Using another account to get around a ban i.e. ban evasion => permaban.

You would think, but apparently not always.

AFAIK its possible. the fee will depend on how much evil points your IP has when you register here in the forum
Blame the trolls, shillers, spammers and bots for that one unfortunately.

But they would have received this money from me, if they had a product  what to sell.  But they have not.
And now they are playing with millions.

At this point they wish they were playing with millions. They killed themselves with the SP20.

Latest SEC financial filings for BTCS: https://www.sec.gov/Archives/edgar/data/1436229/000149315215005382/form10-q.htm

Some interesting points, although these are my interpretations and could be entirely wrong:

1) Now $1.2M in stockholders deficit (Item 1)
2) Mined just $169k in Q3, which is very roughly 1PH
3) At the same time, managed to accrue another $4.1m in "administrative expenses". That's $7.8m in the first 9 months of 2015.
4) And where does most of that go? $6.38m on "Stock based compensation". So at least some of them are doing okay (more in 14)).
5) They held just $61k in digital currencies.
6) Cash flow was -$2.7m, which was cancelled out by "the issuance of Private Placement Units".
7) There was a working capital deficiency of $3.4m
8 ) Seems the Israeli side is also holding things up: "In addition to standard closing conditions, the closing of the Transactions will not occur until the Selling Shareholders receive rulings from the Israeli Tax Authority confirming, among other things, that the Selling Shareholders may defer the payment of applicable Israeli taxes....".

9) They need money:
Quote
Significant uncertainties include, among others, whether the Company will be able to raise the capital it needs to finance its longer term operations and whether such operations, if launched, will enable the Company to sustain operations as a profitable enterprise." ... "The Company will require significant additional capital to sustain its short-term operations and make the investments it needs to execute its longer term business plan. The Company’s existing liquidity is not sufficient to fund its operations and anticipated capital expenditures for the foreseeable future. If the Company attempts to obtain additional debt or equity financing, it cannot provide assurance that such financing will be available to the Company on favorable terms, if at all.

Because of recurring operating losses, net operating cash flow deficits, and an accumulated deficit, there is substantial doubt about the Company’s ability to continue as a going concern. The condensed consolidated financial statements have been prepared assuming the Company will continue as a going concern. The Company has not made adjustments to the accompanying condensed consolidated financial statements to reflect the potential effects on the recoverability and classification of assets or liabilities should the Company be unable to continue as a going concern."

10) We're not making money
Quote
"The Company expects to incur losses into the foreseeable future as it undertakes its efforts to execute its business plans."

11)
Quote
The Company continues to incur ongoing administrative and other expenses, including public company expenses, in excess of corresponding (non-financing related) revenue. While the Company continues to implement its business strategy, it intends to finance its activities through:" ***my cheeky addition**** "not paying its debts

11)
Quote
On January 23, 2015, the Company purchased 100 Spondoolies S35 digital currency mining servers from Spondoolies Tech Ltd. (“Spondoolies”) for $223,500 (the “Purchase Price”) pursuant to a purchase order agreement (the “Purchase Agreement”).

12) Something looks weird with the Coin Outlet transaction (note 8 ). On March 26th 2015 they purchased an additional 2% equity of Coin Outlet Inc. 5 days later, on March 41st 2015 they decided that the investment is not recoverable due to uncertainties in the BTC price. The price (according to coindesk's index actually rose over that period from $245.01 to $246.99. To me, that doesn't make any sense.

13) Spondoolies received $1.5m of cash on May 12th 2015, yet still won't pay.

14) At least we can line our own pockets with $1m+ a month:
Quote
Stock-based compensation expense was $3,629,804 ... for the three months ended September 30, 2015... . Stock-based compensation expense was $6,383,772 ... for the nine months ended September 30... .

15) Yeah, sure you are.
Quote
"We are dependent on our ability to retain short term financing and ultimately to generate sufficient cash flow to meet our obligations on a timely basis in order to attain profitability".

16) A statement showing that my debt is being declared as within the balance sheets:
Quote
We are not a party to any off balance sheet transactions. We have no guarantees or obligations other than those which arise out of normal business operations.

17) Hmm
Quote
ITEM 1 Legal Proceedings
None.
809  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: [Overview] The one thread to link them all on: November 12, 2015, 08:52:50 AM

First one is probably better set to the actual .xz file and mine better to link to whichever is the latest guide, or at least recent. S7 for example https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1194785.

Looks like its not going to get stickied any time soon.

I haven't seen anything stickied in a long time.

Guy/Spondoolies-Tech are you planning to fill this void? people want this type of item, they are hounding you for it, can you not deliver?

Its probably not Guy's ultimate decision any more but BTCS'. They'll be the ones to deal with the SEC anyway.

I have two now .. both of them beeps like a hell Smiley ..so it does

You hear beeping over the jet blasters?
You can hear them a block away, pretty powerful little things.

That's a good question. Has anyone changed the fans out on their S7 to a quieter version?
It seems like most people just set a manual fan speed, which at about 30-35% allows you to make it an S3'esque level.
813  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Antminer S7 replacement fan on: November 10, 2015, 04:14:27 PM
I'm trying to get a replacement fan for my S7. Can anyone advise me on specs? Can i look for 5000 rpm casefan for example?

Generically you're looking for a 4k RPM, 12V, 120x38mm fan. I don't remember the connector specs or if the PWM signal is reversed etc so generally safer to get something power from the PSU.
814  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Antminer Batches? on: November 10, 2015, 12:17:36 AM
Should I be upset that mine is only 4.795 TH/S and 0.0093%?

Not really, its all random variance. If you're at an unusual pool you might get a bit more consistent hash rate at a larger pool. Might be worth a test.
815  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: [Proposal] Mining Co-Op on: November 10, 2015, 12:03:39 AM
What do you think about these numbers? Ofc there is some hidden costs.

[For newbies remember these are speculative simulations, they could turn out to be entirely wrong].

You've left 2.5% fee in, you could take that out and will actually make a sizeable difference.
816  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Antminer Batches? on: November 09, 2015, 11:57:14 PM
But my HW is 8727 after 24HRS and 0.0092% .. is this normal? What is the error rate? thank u for all your help.

HW errors are results which don't make sense and are discarded. Consider them random occurrences which happen at a higher rate when things aren't performing rate. <1% is generally inconsequential.
817  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Antminer Batches? on: November 09, 2015, 11:54:18 PM
Batch 6 WILL be worse efficiency, as they're running it at a higher voltage. My best guess is more like 0.3W/GH vs the 0.25 spec on the earlier batches.

Do we actually know they're using shorter chains in this smaller one?

Hi, can be normal the S7's fans are running at 2.400 rpm and the internal temperature is at 70ºC? I don't know why they are not running faster. I tryed to put them in auto, 80%, 90% and 100%, but no changes... Someone have same issue?
Can you post a screenshot of the status page and configuration page please?

Use 50% or 40%  3,240 rpm
Everyone's RPMs seem to vary quite a bit. My 40% is significantly slower than that.
819  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Guide] Dogie's Comprehensive Bitmain Antminer S7 Setup [HD] on: November 09, 2015, 11:48:41 PM
Thanks Dogie for your comprehensive guide to S7. I always read your guide before making a purchase and never had buyer remorse like early days of mining. Cheers mate.

I am glad to hear it, enjoy.
