821  Economy / Speculation / Re: BitMEX founder projects $750,000 to $1 million #Bitcoin price by 2026 on: October 08, 2023, 01:13:32 AM
Whether it's the Bitmex founder, or Elon Musk, or those so-called analysts out there, a prediction will always be a prediction. A speculation.

I mean I can predict that Bitcoin might reach $100,000 this year? Is it possible? Yes, but what are the chances of it to happen? Close to zero is my prediction. However, I will change my prediction, and I will say that "I predict that Bitcoin will reach 6-digits next year. Months after the Bitcoin halving, it will reach that price." Is it possible, but for sure there's a higher chance that it will happen.

An average person like me can share a prediction, so does other average persons like there, and so does Arthur Hayes, and because of this, I don't already take predictions seriously. A troll can make their prediction, so does those influencers out there. Anybody can share their predictions, their speculations towards the price of Bitcoin.

On the other hand, one thing's for sure though. Bitcoin's price will rise in the long run... or is it?? Cheesy
822  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: My bitcoin journey has started again on: October 07, 2023, 11:24:56 PM
Getting started with investing is easy as long as you have the money. The question is, how consistent you are in doing that because TBH, you might face some financial challenges in the future, and that might affect your investing since there might be a time that you don't have money at all.

Another one is that, how good are you are in holding those Bitcoins. Are you willing to resist the temptation, and choose not to sell it at it's peak for a higher profit in the future? Can you control yourself not selling it when everyone's panicking? It's good that you started investing in Bitcoin, but investing alone isn't enough. Consistency, and self-control can help you become a better investor, and have a higher profit as well.

Good luck OP.

We don't know how much the Clippers want Harden. It may not be a logical transfer for them

Rumors of a possible trade of Harden to the Clippers initially sounded illogical as the Clippers already have players like Kawhi, Paul, and Westbrook. So, I don't think Harden is really the player they need. However, as we can see, there are still rumors that the Clippers are interested in him, which means that the Clippers' management might believe Harden could be useful to them in some way.
Harden might be a great passer, but Westbrook can be a good Point Guard as well, if given the chance.

The Clippers are in need of a Point Guard. Kawhi and PG can't be one. Westbrook can be their starting PG since he has been a good Point Guard through out his career. His career only got ruined when he went to the Lakers, but we can't remove the fact that he can make passes Harden can do.

Like you, I don't also think that the Clippers will try, and pursue Harden knowing that they have Russ as their PG already. I'll stick to what I said that no team want's to pursue him, or at least gamble, and get him in exchange for multiple draft picks. Harden will most probably stay with the Sixers for at least the first half of the season while for the Clippers, I would like to see Westbrook redeem himself after what happened to him in the last seasons. I still believe that he can still make those flashy passes like what he's doing back then.
824  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: trading purely based on luck. on: October 06, 2023, 02:30:06 AM
Well, I will not say anything with your experiment because 3 days is just too short to conclude that trading purely basing on luck outperforms trading that's purely basing on TA, and news.

On the flipside, with what you said, there might be some readers out there who might try it, but this time with actual money. I'm not trading anymore since I lost a few months ago, but I didn't ever tried this type of strategy. On the other hand, emotions are very different when there's money involved. You can control your emotions when you're in a demo account only, but when there's money involved, what you can control when using a demo account might not be controlled when using true money.

Overall, I would like to request to OP to try it for a longer period of time. Let's say 15 days? Or 30 days? And also try it with actual money, then share your results here. Smiley We would be happy to see it for sure.

https://coinmarketcap.com/community/articles/651d60a08cbbdd308ef0f24c/

'A crypto friendly lawmaker takes interim house speaker position'

I Don't what this means to you but I think we're moving forward.
Did read the article, and there's nothing significant about it.

I guess let's just not overhype things just because a person is a pro-crypto. A politician that's considered crypto-friendly isn't enough to move the market upwards. We need series of positive news in order for the market to rise. On the other hand though, one single tweet, or one single positive news coming from an influential person might move the price up significantly like what Elon did to DOGE.

Overall, I don't consider this article as "big" like what the OP is saying. A bit clickbait-y thread if you will ask me. I guess the most significant part of this article is the fact that he criticized Gensler because of not disclosing his ties with FTX, and SBF, that's all.
826  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: October 06, 2023, 01:39:05 AM
So maybe just the rest of the NBA, after their dismal performance in FIBA's competition recently in Manila, high caliber athletes are eager to don the US Jersey this coming Olympics and represent Team USA and extract their revenge and win the Gold medal to show US supremacy again in basketball. But I guess the game really evolved as there are a lot of non-American in the NBA right now. So they need to bring in their best player and it might include Joel.
AFAIK, Lebron James, Kevin Durant and Steph Curry have already expressed that they are committed in playing for the US' national team on Olympics. Now this gets more serious. While Joel Embiid is being asked by three national teams.

But if I am him, this is a tough thing. He'll be the hero on Cameroon even if they're not going to get into Olympics and fall with the qualifiers.

And if he wants likely high chance of winning the Olympics, he'll choose to go along with the team USA. He's got a few days left for the deadline of his decision.

The only question is that, are they healthy at that time?
I'm not pessimistic per se, but we know that these NBA players can sustain injuries that might be the reason they can't play at certain tournaments like the Olympics.

Seeing them committing is good because they are seeing other countries coping up, and can match with them already, but the question is, are they releasing statements like this because they want to scare other countries? Well, I guess they want to get back on top again thus they are doing this. It's a shame on their part if they can't win a gold medal knowing that they've been the powerhouse country globally in basketball.

It seems like this consecutive times where they aren't winning a gold medal is a wake-up call for them. I guess I just hope that they can build a team that can be called "Dream Team V2.0". Cheesy
827  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What is the future of cryptocurrency?? on: October 06, 2023, 12:46:52 AM
Let me know!
Bright. Bright as the brightest star currently in the whole universe. Tongue
On the other hand, there might be a chance that the future of cryptocurrency might be as dark as the largest black hole in the universe. Cheesy

What I'm trying to say is that, the future of cryptocurrency can't be predicted at all. We know that past performances is no guarantee of future results. What happened in the past might not happen in the future. I'm optimistic when it comes to Bitcoin, and the whole cryptocurrency, but I can't just remove the fact that there might be a chance that we might see a new invention in the future that would be better than crypto. I mean I don't know what it is, but anything can happen, right?

I guess what I will say to you OP is that, if you believe that crypto will still be there for the next 5 years, invest into it, then sell after 5 years or at least during that time frame. You asked a wrong forum when it comes to that IMO, and nobody can answer you that accurately that's for sure. I guess just Good Luck OP. Smiley

It took me I think or more than a week when I experienced the same thing. My account got hacked last year, and with that, I knew that the email that I used in this account is being pwned (I think this is the term they used correct me please if I'm wrong). I changed my email, used an email that hasn't been used ever since, but created for quite some time, and until now, it's been all good in the hood.

Hey Kabayan. Smiley

Did you just send an email to the provided address and just wait? No follow-up?
Yow Smiley. IIRC, they gave an email where I need to recover my account, then waited for a week until they responded with a link where I can reset my password there.
At least that's what I remembered. Don't panic though. @Lafu already said that your account will be back, and he helped me alongside other users here to recover mine, so you will recover yours - much faster than I am I guess.
829  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Invest only in Bitcoin and never invest in shitcoin on: October 05, 2023, 10:21:43 AM

Although some people were pretty lucky to make alot of dollars from shitcoin, but mine didn't work out in any ways, so I would like you guys to shear your ideas on this an the possible solution.

Are you saying this to us because you didn't earn any profit investing into shitcoins, eh?

You also said that "I thought shitcoin also has that potential". It's on it's name already. SHITcoin, meaning it will just give you some sh*ts, and will not give you anything good. Potential? On shitcoins? Are you serious OP? Why expect too much on them when at first they are already being called as shitcoins. Cheesy Don't make me laugh that hard. Tongue

Kidding aside, I believe that you posted this because of your emotions, and the fact that you lost money investing into these type of coins. I know that there's nothing wrong with, and I hope that you learned from it as well. On the other hand, I don't agree with you though to what you said. Invest only in Bitcoin? I know that many altcoins will just die in a few years, but there are altcoins out there who are still there for a long time, and established already. I believe that investing into those type of coins is still a good investment.

Don't look on Bitcoin like "the only coin to invest" in the crypto market because there are still good altcoins out there that's good to invest as well. Smiley

Thank you, everybody, who applied for the interest in our campaign.
It was a tough task to choose a worthy new member.
However, we would like to welcome Zaguru12 onboard our closely-knit green family  Smiley

Cheers!
Hello Good day.

Can I ask if why my name was removed in the spreadsheet? It's on Week 194, and it's the latest update. Unfortunately, my name wasn't there. Can you please clarify it for me, or did I get removed? Thanks. Smiley

@KingsDen, I guess I'll consider that as a compliment so thank you. Smiley Anyway, I agree with you that aside from the time where they removed some of their participants because it's too much for them, they hardly remove participants in the campaign unless they're the ones that will transfer.

I was just surprised since my name was already removed by the time our manager has released the updated spreadsheet (Week 194), and because of that, my previous week wasn't paid obviously. Just a bit surprised, but I just want to hear it from our manager still. Thanks for you response though. Smiley
831  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin Up Move Incoming on: October 05, 2023, 03:37:25 AM
Price movement history.

From 2019-2022, the price of Bitcoin during the month of October always goes up month to date, so there's a high chance that it will happen again this month. In the last 13 years, 9 times Bitcoin has gone up during the month of October. Bitcoin must surpass the $30,000 price resistance, so that we might see something different towards to it. I mean Bitcoin has been moving sideways for quite some time already. Many are just waiting for some catalysts that might've push the price either up or down. Well, we're only a few months away from the Bitcoin halving to happen (estimated to happen in April next year).

The bad thing though is that, in the last 2 years, the price of Bitcoin during the month of November, and December is down. I will not be surprised if it will happen again this year, but nevertheless, I expect a bullish movement towards the price of Bitcoin at least this month.

I changed my email, used an email that hasn't been used ever since, but created for quite some time, and until now, it's been all good in the hood.

Just wait for it I guess since you have your signed address up there. It took longer for me because I need to find where did I put the seed phrase of my address where I put my sign here. Luckily, I found it or my account will be gone forever. Good Luck, and that will be temporary OP. Smiley I guess change your email to an email that hasn't been used in anything. Worked for me. Of course, be careful as well.

P.S. @tranthidung, yes unfortunately. It says "Pwned in 3 data breaches and found 3 pastes (subscribe to search sensitive breaches)"
Yes currently, I'm not using that email anymore, and the worst thing is that, I'm always receiving random emails from potential scammers. Not annoying for me though. I guess that hacking incident that happened to me with my account is what I considered as "blessing in disguise" since I learned something from that mistake.

Anyway, thanks for sharing that links. Bookmarked it already. Smiley

Many are focusing about other things here, but they forgot the James Harden drama.
Just so we know, he's went to the training camp, played some drills, and even his coach said that he's good.
https://www.foxsports.com/articles/nba/james-harden-returns-to-philadelphia-76ers-training-camp-despite-his-trade-request
Quote
James Harden made his return to the Philadelphia 76ers on Wednesday for training camp. He went through most of the drills. His new coach said he “looked good.”
I know, I know that he still wants to get traded, but he might realize in the next few weeks that no team wants him anymore. I hope nobody is a fan of die-hard fan of Harden here, and will say that "Yes there will be a team that wants him blah blah" because nobody wants him. He forced his way out of Houston, he also forced his way out of Brooklyn, now he's doing the same with Philly, and other teams knew this already. Add also the fact that he's on his last year of his contract, other team might lose him for nothing in return because he will already be a free agent after this season.

Harden left with no choice, but to play with the Sixers, or his value will decrease significantly. I hope he's attitude must change. Yes, he has been a big piece on Embiid's MVP, but if he will not change his attitude, he might be out of the league sooner than we expect. Attitude matters in the league, and we know that. Smiley

835  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What is this fascination with claiming to be Satoshi Nakamoto? on: October 03, 2023, 11:38:07 PM
Money? Popularity? Attention? I guess.

I mean with our current era right now where they will do everything for the sake of fame, I'm not surprised that there are still people who are claiming to be Satoshi, and yet they can't do the one thing people wanted them to do if they really is Satoshi.

I guess we who knows the truth will just ignore these stupid sh*ts who are claiming that they're Satoshi right? I don't know their true intention as to why they need to spend their time, and money just to claim it.
836  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Notification that you should never click on: October 03, 2023, 03:56:10 PM
I can't remember how much scam attempts my very first Gmail account has received already, and until now, I still receive notifications that obviously is a scam attempt. If I'm not mistaken, I receive at least 1 per day.

That's my mistake. I used that email to various websites whenever I'm registering a new account, and maybe that mistake of mine is also the reason why my Bitcointalk account got hacked last year. Anyways, if you feel that the email or whatever you receive is a scam attempt, trust your guts, and don't ever click it. Don't you let your curiosity get you, or you might be a victim by these scammers. Better to just ignore it at all cost I guess.
837  Economy / Economics / Re: Honda Now Accepts Bitcoin and Ethereum As Payment Methods on: October 03, 2023, 03:36:41 PM

With such an opportunity to spend btc to buy luxury cars-
*Will you be willing to spend your btc to buy car from Honda? Or any other automobile company that will follow the Honda's part?
No I'm not willing to buy using Bitcoin knowing that in a few months, we might see the start of the bull run. Of course I might be wrong, but still I will not use Bitcoin to buy cars or whatever expensive item it is. I guess those buyers who also has a huge amount of Bitcoin holdings might be the ones who will try, and buy using Bitcoin, but for an average holder like me, it's a no-no. As for this move by Honda having a domino effect towards other automobile companies, maybe but they'll observe it first. If this initiative of Honda comes out to be a good move by them, other companies might do the same as well, and vice-versa.

*Which other automobile company would you want to also accept btc for payment?
None.
I mean nobody expected that a company like Honda will accept it right? I don't know which companies do I want to accept Bitcoin as well. Like I said, if this will turn out to be a positive for Honda, there might be a chance that other competitors will do the same.

*Is this news big enough to trigger market uptrend in the coming weeks, months?
Not big enough, but this might be the first step towards the price of Bitcoin reaching $30,000. Currently, this news has no effect towards the price of Bitcoin. I guess the catalyst that investors are waiting is the acceptance of the Spot Bitcoin ETF filed by Blackrock, and not this kind of catalyst.
838  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Where are all the Bitcoin naysayers? on: October 03, 2023, 07:50:31 AM
~
I have to admit that I rarely visit some parts of this forum, but I haven't seen any anti-Bitcoin accounts active recently. Why is that? There are no naysayers left? Lost interest in this forum? Or maybe I'm not attentive enough and they're still among us?  Grin
I guess they now changed sides knowing how Bitcoin's price moves in the long run.

Like you, I don't see any of them anymore. Maybe it's because they aren't here in the forum anymore, or it's just we don't give any attention to them anymore. Whatever the case is, I guess the phrase "Bitcoin is dead" is rarely being used compare to how often it has been used last 2017 where many articles, many posters here, and many people saying that Bitcoin is dead or the like.

I'm not saying though that they're gone already because I still believe that there will always be people who are anti-Bitcoin (like Peter Schiff), but as Bitcoin goes more, and more popular, more and more anti-Bitcoin will slowly change sides, and will start to support Bitcoin because what they think about it will just lead to nothing.
839  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Two guys that have lost their Bitcoins forever on: October 03, 2023, 07:10:16 AM
Lesson; Always back up your seed phrase, password, recovery phrases, private keys that has access to your Bitcoins and wallets.
Well, thanks for reminding us I guess.

I wonder how these 2 people are feeling right now that the coins that they're holding just because they want to hold it, but wasn't that important for them many years ago are now worth millions. I mean it's just like you threw money out of the blue. Aside from what you said, maybe I'll just add the fact that we need to trust the process. If we believe that an asset like Bitcoin will grow it's price a few years or a decade from now, then at at all means we need to protect it as much as we can. That includes backing up the seed phrases.

I guess it's good on my part that I didn't, and I will not experience this one. I'm already keeping my seed phrase in a safe place already.
840  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC Sentiment Poll for October on: October 03, 2023, 05:59:21 AM
This is the yearly performance of Bitcoin for the Month of October.

The point is that, in those 13 years, 9 of them have positive percentage return for Bitcoin (blue green), so I expect that we might see the same this year. Base on history, October has been a good month, so I guess there's a high chance that we might see Bitcoin's price go higher than it was in the previous 2 months. I'm always optimistic whenever we are in the final 3 months of the year, so I expect that Bitcoin's price in the next 3 months will go high. We might see Bitcoin's price go higher than $30,000 TBH. I believe the Halloween effect, and the Christmas season will have an effect towards the price of it, but as for this month, I expect Bitcoin's price to reach $30,000 for the first time in the last few months.
