821  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022–23 PBA Commissioner's Cup on: August 25, 2023, 11:41:14 AM
To be safe, betting on the handicap might be the right choice here. +10.5 seems reasonable, considering it's their first game and they have the energy and the crowd's support. The opponents are quite strong, so maybe we can compensate with our 3-point shooting, as it's difficult to penetrate the interior, especially with Town there. I guess no big man has a favorable matchup against Town; he's capable of dominating everyone.

It's +12.5 @1.78 for me and like you have said, the crowd would be a factor in this game. For me, we have a big chance of winning if Towns gives up the ball to his teammates and let them shoot in the corner as that would be the spot where his teammates are going to be open and hope our guards will be quick enough to recover to bother the shot, easily said than done but hope they can execute.

I think Kai could somehow bother Towns though not all the time but life in the middle would not be so easy for him if Kai and Edu were there defending him.

It's now time for Kai to silence his critics, as he finds himself on a grand stage where everyone is watching. This presents his chance to demonstrate to the world that he deserves a spot in the NBA. Kai Sotto hasn't performed well in the last three tune-up games. If he manages to score at least 20 points here, I believe that would be a significant accomplishment for him. Particularly noteworthy would be if he plays an effective role in limiting KAT.
Well, Kai needs to step up his game and give it his all, as his success in this context could significantly contribute to his pursuit of an NBA career.

On another note, I came across an update about this game on Facebook. Speaking of the crowd and fans, it has been reported that 43,000 tickets have already been sold out. Imagine the enormity of the crowd at that game. The Dominican Republic is essentially playing against a home team, and although they might be the stronger team, the continuous support from the home crowd could potentially alter the dynamics of the game.
822  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Crawford vs Canelo-Charlo winner (no date yet) on: August 25, 2023, 11:01:59 AM
Another boxer is Sugar Shane Mosley, he rock Floyd with a right hand and it was the first time that we saw Floyd holding because he felt the power and almost goes down. So for me, Floyd doesn't have a good chin, except that no one really can touch him because of his reflex and good defense.

He was fortunate that Shane Mosley wasn't in his prime at that time. Floyd still managed to win that fight via unanimous decision as he was in control throughout. While Shane Mosley was able to connect with his solid punches against Mayweather, he didn't perform well against Pacman. Different opponents often lead to different outcomes due to the styles that make the fight.

However, there's no debate about who the better fighter is between Canelo and Mayweather, as they have already fought, and Mayweather won convincingly. Fans of Canelo shouldn't make excuses; they have to accept the defeat.
823  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Dogecoin Millionaire Remains Optimistic About DOGE Despite Significant Losses on: August 24, 2023, 09:55:21 PM
Perhaps, that was a spirit from a real investor who still have the faith and trust of his investment. Even though he is in terrible losses but still he is still optimistic and never loses hope. Of course, we could think why he was too optimistic with Doge knowing that was a meme coin. But we also have to know that while Elon Musk is still with Dogecoin, you can't just think that it never pump again because it was several times that he did it and many investors became rich. This person that OP had mentioned really has the trust that most of us don't have which is why we are negatively talking about Dogecoin.
824  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: New bull market or new bear market ahead? on: August 24, 2023, 12:13:56 PM
Right now, it is looking very bearish for our coins because recently, we had a big loss. Bitcoin and Ethereum almost dropped 10%.
But Bitcoin and Ethereum are still up from previous gains.
It is very difficult if we will have new bull market or new bear market ahead.

What is your personal expectation?
There is a big difference when saying it is looking bearish and being in a bearing situation. But then, I couldn't agree to any of the two because the current situation is far from the state of being bearish. In fact, you can compare the current price today versus the price last year and for sure, you can see something big different from it, and that is a bear season. But what it is happening these days is just a normal event in the market, it dumps hard and it recovers back as well. We can never see the price trend keep on high but instead, you can always see price corrections.
825  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Jerwin Ancajas vs Takuma Inoue - Nov 15 on: August 24, 2023, 10:50:25 AM
Time to redeem himself. This fight will be held in Japan, which is a disadvantage for him. However, if he can knock out Inoue, then there's no question that he will become a champion. Takuma Inoue is not as good as his brother, so I'm confident that Ancajas will be able to win the belt. His brother's only loss is against Nordine Oubaali, who was KO'd by Donaire in their fight. Judging from that, we already know what kind of quality fighter he is.
826  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: FIBA Basketball World Cup 2023 - Betting and Discussions on: August 24, 2023, 07:20:54 AM
And if Australia has a lot of NBA players, then yeah, I would agree to what @wheelz1200, maybe they could land on a good spot in this tournament. But obviously, US team will be favorite here, but it will not be easy for them to just steam roll others teams even if they are composed of NBA players.

Basketball has already been evolving. While the NBA is the most popular league in the world, we cannot guarantee that it has the best players. This tournament will be a testament to determine which country truly has the best players. Even though Team USA is the heavy favorite, we wouldn't be surprised if they win. However, I still believe that there will be surprises, and the USA might not even reach the Finals.
827  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: August 23, 2023, 01:38:02 PM
I don’t know how serious the trade scenario of Karl Anthony Towns for Damian Lillard was, but apparently it was serious enough for Portland to comment that they don’t want KAT. I’m a little surprised by that, as I don’t think they’re going to be able to get a better player for Dame, but maybe they just want lots of draft picks or something.

That is a big sign that the Portland Trail Blazers are now looking forward to rebuild their team and carve out a new franchise image from the future picks they could get out of Dame because they specifically denied the Timberwolves request in giving KAT and some other future trades in-exchange for Dame Lillard.
Furthermore, Blazers are seems to be still sticking with what Dame wants by giving the Heat a chance to make a good trade but up to now, there are still no signs that both teams are going to agree with something to make it a done deal.
We can wait for a bit; who knows, one day we will be surprised by the big news that Lillard was finally traded to the Heat, the team he wants to land with. KAT is definitely a player that most teams would want. His 3-point shooting percentage is high, and he can dominate the paint at the same time. Perhaps KAT would be more suitable if he gets traded to a championship team, but I'm unsure of which team would be able to offer the Wolves something they cannot resist.
828  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Oleksandr Usyk VS Daniel Dubois For The Undisputed heavyweight champion on: August 23, 2023, 12:51:30 PM
Usyk needs to win this fight, as there's a rumor that he's up for a big match against Fury in Saudi Arabia. Based on the records, there's only a small disparity, but in terms of the quality of the fight, I see Usyk having the advantage here, as he has beaten AJ twice, who is one of the best in the heavyweight division.

Daniel Dubois, on the other hand, is not undefeated; he suffered a loss against Joe Joyce through KO. So, I wouldn't be surprised if Usyk manages to KO him.

As the betting odds suggest, this is a sure win for Usyk.

829  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: August 22, 2023, 01:30:32 PM
Maybe he really struggle to lower down his weight and this is really stressful especially when you encounter so many injuries then many people criticized you for that. This is heavy battle need to face by him and he really need to work with it so hard since if he cannot achieve a healthy weight then this might be a big threat for his career. He's so young and potential is there but he need to defeat his emotion then start to work with his weight so that he can maximize his talent also stay in the league for long years.

If you look at the picture, I think we can already conclude that he has already achieved the body he wants. He looks like a strong LeBron in the picture; he does not look fat anymore, with added muscles that will make him stronger inside and could certainly dominate his opponents. However, as a fan, I would like to see the results of his hard work. We all know that he is an explosive player, but if an injury were to hit him again, it could affect the team's future once more. When that happens, I'm not sure how long the team would continue to trust him.

He looks more muscle bound that Lebron James in my opinion, Lebron's body is different though, I mean't well proportion that's why he was able to stay in the league for so long. But we can't say about Zion though, although it was a transformation, he will have to see if there is a tradeoffs, maybe he will be slower with that bulky muscle of his or can't jump as high as he used to. But now he can prevent more injuries in his body as he has solid foundation specially if he build his muscles in his legs and quads or even his calves. But tendons are very delicate though that you can put those muscles but still you will get injured, like Kawhi last season. He has build so much in his lower body, but still his achilles tendon didn't hold and so he re-injured himself.

I believe they are experimenting on his body to find ways to make him look as strong as ever. Since he started playing in the NBA, he hasn't managed to finish a season without an injury. His body used to be bulky and appeared somewhat fat, but he was renowned for his strength and that physique is what made him the number 1 draft pick. I'm not sure, man. I'm just hoping that they can figure out how to make him tougher and able to complete a season without injuries. Or if he does get injured, at least he could come back for the playoffs, given that the team isn't as strong without him.
830  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why is Monero so unpopular? on: August 22, 2023, 12:27:25 PM
Privacy is a necessary feature in my opinion, but why hasn't Monero become a main coin?
Supposedly it was, unfortunately, people don't just come for privacy but they are here for making money and they saw Monero don't have such quality and so they junk and ignore it. And besides, it is not a question of why it was not the main coin because, in the first, Bitcoin has been created first before it was born.

Anyways, Monero is one of the long-existing projects in the crypto space but seems to say that people haven't seen it as a progressive project and worth investing in. Though it was not popular but at least it gives some contribution to the market as well.

832  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling by financial dependents. on: August 19, 2023, 02:04:07 PM
A family member reported to me that her eighteen years old son has started gambling. She is not worried that he is gaming but her problem is that he is a student that solely depends on her for everything he needs. Her fear is also that her son might start stealing from her if he has no access to the money he needs to gamble. My relative has even started suspecting that some money she feels was misplaced might have been stolen by her son.

He is not worried but has a problem. Perhaps, she would be worried more because her son is gambling, not just a simple gaming activity. She would stop her son as early as possible before he totally fall into a gambling addiction. She would have not let the worse thing happen because it was hard to stop it once addicted and yes, stealing could be possible.

We should have to educate young minds about gambling and must tell them the real thing - they must know the negative impact on their life in order for them to discourage.
833  Other / Off-topic / Re: Keeping your gambling habit a secret. on: August 19, 2023, 01:45:44 PM
Secret are vital information If when expose will spoil one's reputation. Privacy is entirely what we want to do or have already done without drawing attention to ourselves or others. To be a bit more specific, not everyone knows how to keep a secret to oneself. People will always undermine one's advancement schedule, even if given the slightest opportunity. We all have strengths and weaknesses when it comes to gambling. My gambling behaviors are something I keep to myself, and it is one of my secrets, which only a few of my close friends are aware of.
But gambling habit is another case that we don't have to keep secret, especially from our family. They have the right also to know what makes us busy and besides, whatever happens to us like getting into trouble because of our addiction, they were to help us.

Well, I could say that I was different from you and probably different from others too because I believe that our family is a part of our life. Some things would be kept secret and alone but the majority will be known to them as well. I'd preferred to tell my family as trusted them most rather than telling my friend which could possibly spread more about the issue.
834  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: FIBA Basketball World Cup 2023 - Betting and Discussions on: August 19, 2023, 11:44:58 AM
Still, having NBA players in the team alone is not sufficient to win matches. And that will be obvious in 2 weeks or so, when this tournament gets going.

Yeah right, having an NBA player in your squad doesn't guarantee you to win a game, maybe they can help but still a team efforts and good chemistries among the players, there are instances that even top caliber squad from all compose NBA stars losses during world cup the very reason why US team needs to have both dream team and redeem team, both to secure that team US would get the title.

Let see what would be the performances of those teams that will compete and who will dominate this league.
That's true nowadays.

Even before, there have been upsets with the Team USA from other teams like Argentina, Spain and others. It gives a team a boost of confidence because someone from NBA really plays on a different level.

But aside from that, if the whole team is lousy and don't contribute a lot to the team on this FIBA World Cup then having one on the side is not really going to be enough to make it.

NBA and FIBA are quite distinct, with FIBA being a highly physical game where teams focus solely on winning for their country without concern for the future. When a European team wins, it's not surprising due to their hard-playing style, which characterizes their league as very physical. The players representing the USA aren't necessarily the best in the NBA. Despite their impressive performance in tune-up games, I remain skeptical about their ability to dominate in the actual competition.
835  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gender in Gambling [differences between Women and Men in Gambling] on: August 19, 2023, 11:03:10 AM
Casinos in real life? They are relics from an old time when gaming was different. And this idea that women are mostly involved in fun in these kinds of places? It's ridiculous and almost insulting!

Online tools are the future because humans have always been more interested in the virtual than the real. So, your coworkers play slot machines? Good for them. It is both narrow-minded and stupid to say that women like these because they don't know how to do maths. People, both men and women, are complicated beings who are influenced by many things besides "luck" or "strategy." Look deeper into the complicated web of what drives people before you make assumptions about them.

With you 100%, women are just as likely to play at casinos and they are likely to do it for the very same reasons. Any point made on why half of the population does anything is ridiculous and probably unfounded.

I asked for the research mentioned in the OP but I got nothing in response. All hearsay.
Since this is a discussion thread I think most comments will be based on personal observation and little research so the ops may not be able to provide you with any links that can support his claims,  but even at that,  we all know the low percentage of women involvement in gambling and this challenge have been ascribed to public stigmatization and if the individual doesn't check everything out may result in more or less avoided by others in the society.

All though this is not the same with every state or country because we have some countries where gambling is legalized and women's participation in active gambling is quite noticeable without any form of discrimination like in other parts of the world.
That is all we know and that is based on our observations. And one reason why we only see a few women are in casinos or gambling because they are not comfortable doing and sometimes they are concerned about their security and even for me, I don't allow my partner to get involved in gambling, and probably the same with others.
Well, in my country women are very welcome but can't just ignore some people will judge women differently when they gamble. Whether it was a sort of discrimination or not but it was not right to see women gambling.
836  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How to tell if a new coin is worth investing in! on: August 19, 2023, 03:34:04 AM
If a coin introduces a completely new technology that enables a different function and is sustainable in the long term, does it have the potential to be a worthwhile investment?
Not totally the assurance that it they will make it. Of course, a developer will say something promising in order to gain the trust and attention of the community making it believe that they can give the best thing possible. However, in many instances happens that they only just promise but have never happened in actual. This is why it was hard to determine if that project is worth investing in unless they will witness its performance. In fact, just like Bitcoin before, only it gains massive attention when it shows something different which makes people invest in it.
837  Economy / Speculation / Re: what a surprise dip on: August 18, 2023, 09:31:40 PM

What is possibly to happen in the market, more dip that's seeing below 20k or something similar?
And is this another sign for bear market?
I would never say it was a sign for another bear market but yes, can't hide the fact that the market is facing another hard time due to low buying demand and support. However, despite the current situation, I don't think it going to dip below $20k, yet it is possible for $24k. I'd see that this year is full of test and market surprise as we thought that after reaching $30k we may see it moving close to $35k but it goes in the opposite direction and even fall hard. But still, I don't give up yet as it recovers later, the same thing happen in the past few days yet, we can never say it was too quick.
838  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: What could be the problem here? on: August 18, 2023, 09:03:25 PM
What do we think could be the cause for a trader that has been experiencing a win and lose repetitive occurrences in his trades.

Like he places a trade today he makes profit and the next day when he places another trade he would lose it, whereas the next day he then makes another profit and lose it the next. And this happen been repeating for more than a month.

Has anyone had such experience? If yes! Then how was or could it be solved or stopped?
The situation is getting psychological.
That situation is very usual in trading because not all the time the market is doing well and also our decision making. But in this case, if that keeps on going and repeatedly happens, there is a problem with our strategies. Sometimes we don't have to stick to a single strategy if is not effective anymore but must have to look for something that will fit the current trend.
Stopping is not the best option for me especially if I know in myself that I can improve my trade. It is just finding the right and most effective strategy in every market change which is why it was very important that we need to know how to analyze the market situation very well.
839  Economy / Speculation / Re: take advantage of opportunities on: August 18, 2023, 04:58:25 PM
today i saw the btc market it went down 5% and now it is $26800 and i saw very scared people and many are selling their btc cheap but i will not miss this golden opportunity when people are panic selling so i will buy it. and I'm lucky to still have balance left on my exchange.

Are you also taking advantage of this opportunity, friend?
I'm not if they are selling because they are worried about the situation as nothing it supports with that but for sure, these people are selling for some reason so whatever it was, it doesn't matter.

Yes, we are still given a chance to buy Bitcoin at a correction price before the halving will start. I say that this year would be our time to accumulate more in anticipation of the price surge that will occur next year. I encourage people to buy but must keep on their limitation as well, - invest only the amount that we can afford to lose.
840  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What tips you will give to a new investor to identify scam projects early ? on: August 18, 2023, 04:33:52 PM
Generally, it emphasizes here the importance of doing deep research on a particular project before investing. This is the most important thing to do in order to avoid falling into scam projects because even if it was suggested by some forum members and any influential personalities, it is our obligation to undergo separate assessments just to make sure that we are investing in the right project. Because what I see is that many people (new investors) had invested in new projects without any piece of information about the project, they only just hear it from some friends and then believe it. But it was not enough, we should be more cautious when investing knowing that scam projects are flooded in the market already.
