Manchester United supporters have already grown frustrated with the Glazers family for their reluctancy in selling out the club or investing huge in player acquisitions and infrastructures. I heard the Glazers have now taken the club off the market and no longer on sale. This will really break the hearts of the supporters who have been dreaming already of a Qatari takeover.
It is obvious that Manchester United fans want the Glazers out, but it is their right to want to sell or not and even if the fans continue to complain and protest, i don't think Manchester United is going to be sold anytime soon. The Glazers haven't done too badly as regards buying players, Manchester United have been spending quite a lot of money on player acquisition just like other big clubs, if they have been getting the right players is another discussion entirely. As for infrastructure, yes the club must do better, but United fans must admit that the Glazers are still very much around in Old trafford.

Remitano Delist BUSD
Paxos stopped minting BUSD, Binance have also stopped supporting the stable coin, and people hodling BUSD have been advised to convert their BUSD to another coin before February next year. This was posted some days ago in this board:
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5465266.msg62778023#msg62778023

Remitano has now also delisted BUSD, and this will continue for every exchange that lists the stable coin, if you are hodling it, convert it to Bitcoin or another stable coins if you want to keep the funds in a stable coin.

Mbappe has finally decided he wants to join Madrid so by the end of the season (Next summer) the deal will be finalized. I can’t wait to see him in Madrid shirts.
Mbappe's future has been clouded with uncertainties for quite awhile now, during this summer's transfer window we didn't know if he was going to leave PSG or if he was going to sign a new contract with the club, Mbappe maintained his stand that he wasn't going to sign a new contract and he didn't.

Having said that, we all remember when PSG were able to convince Mbappe to extend his contract when he didn't want to, PSG fans will be hoping for that exact scenario to repeat itself in the coming months, whilst Real Madrid fans will be waiting for Mbappe to see out his contract with PSG and join them for free; we'd find out how things unfold at the end of the season.
864  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2023/2024 on: September 12, 2023, 04:23:17 PM
Manchester City has played four matches so far without losing a point in any match and is currently in the first position in the points table. On the other hand, West Ham has played four matches and drawn one match and is at number four in the points table with ten points. Considering the points table, it can be predicted that it will be a tough fight between the two teams.
It is definitely going to be a tough game, even though City are the clear favorites. The both teams are unbeaten in 4 games, City with a 100% record whilst West Ham have won 3 and drawn one. The game is at the London Stadium, and so West Ham would want their fans to make as much noise as possible.

Having said that, i think City are going to make it 5 out of 5, they look unstoppable at the moment and i would not rule out the possibility of them running away with the trophy because they are well capable of doing it. Pep returns to the dugout this weekend after his due rest from back surgery, that will give the City players more motivation to get the job done.
865  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: The power of influencials and brand ambassadors, don't fall for it. on: September 12, 2023, 02:28:23 PM
The only influencer I have is Satoshi Nakamoto,
Satoshi Nakamoto is/was not an influencer, Satoshi created Bitcoin but never advertised or promoted it the way influencers do for shitcoins. Satoshi even went ahead to say:
Quote
If you don't believe me or don't get it, I don't have time to try to convince you, sorry.

Influencers basically want to make money, and they'll do that even if it means promoting projects that are either a scam or one they don't have adequate knowledge about. Influencers should also do their own research about a project before promoting it, they owe that to their followers/fans, jumping on any project without doing any due diligence and only because of money is a bad thing to do.

It would be great if Mbappe went to Real Madrid.
Of course, it would be great for Real Madrid. Mbappe is one of the best footballers in the world and he deserves to play in one of the biggest clubs in the world, like Real Madrid.

But Madrid fans will have to wait a little longer, if Mbappe is going to join them, then it will be for free next summer, if Mbappe doesn't join Real Madrid next summer, then i don't think there would be any other chance for him to join Real Madrid again, it is either next summer or never.
867  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2023/2024 on: September 11, 2023, 05:53:18 PM
These are very sad news. It is incomprehensible that the most valuable players in the world are involved in such events. It always surprises me that professional athletes do such things, they should pay extra attention to themselves.
"Innocent until proven guilty", remember the case of Mendy of Manchester City, he was accused of multiple cases of rape by more than one woman, but in the end of it all he was not guilty, but he had already lost 2 years of his career.

I think these footballers should also be protected, too many of these accusations turn out to be false and nobody talks about the extent of the damage done to the player. I am not justifying people who abuse the opposite sex, and i believe if anyone is found guilty of that they should be vigorously dealt with, but what's going to happen and who's going to pay for damages if the accusation is false.
868  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: ETH's Endgame on: September 11, 2023, 01:42:26 PM
What do you think? Is the endgame for ETH approaching? Will it be possible for ETH to become decentralized again? Or is it already too late?
I think it is already too late, they have taken a decision that i can't see them going back on. Ethereum will remain centralized and there is little to no chance of them returning to POW or becoming decentralized again. Big centralized exchanges like Binance and Coinbase, and also Lido which is staking protocol somewhat control the Ethereum blockchain because they are the biggest node validators by a long mile.
I don't think we must to bet anything because Ethereum suffered fud in the past about Vitalik's death.
The OP never said Vitalik is dead, they are only talking of the influence which he has over Ethereum project, and if the project will continue smoothly if he is no more, i think it will be very difficult for Ethereum to progress without Vitalik; another person will take over, but so many people will lose interest in the project and prolly sell off their ETH.
869  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Looking for ways to improve my knowledge on cryptocurrency on: September 10, 2023, 10:28:57 PM
And when you've gained adequate knowledge and skills, try to experience investing and trading just a small amount. If you become successful on it, you will receive decent amount of profits but if you fail and lose your funds, that means you need to experience more while increasing your knowledge and skills as well. In the end, when you come to master crypto trading and investing, profits will easily flow in your account.
Mind you that it is impossible to master crypto trading/investment, yes you can garner knowledge, but no you can't master it and start making money easily as some people erroneously believe. Trading/investing is always a risky endeavor and there is never a guarantee of making profit even if you have been doing it for many years. It is better to make newbies understand that trading is not a get rich quick scheme and individuals who claim to sell sure/guaranteed trading signals are more often than not scammers.

I don't know your purpose of belonging here but you can present yours as well, Maybe we can also learn by sharing thoughts feelings.
I don't know what you intend learning by knowing the reason why users join Bitcointalk. Obviously this is a discussion forum for Bitcoin and other whatnots, and if you have any interest whatsoever in Bitcoin you would find your way to register here. Quite a lot of people register just to ask questions and seek solution to some Bitcoin related problems that they have, and after that they don't log in again.

Having said that, signature campaigns help to maintain the forum's traffic and keep so many of the users active, thus they earn from their contributions to discussions that take place on the forum, and it is a win-win.
871  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: My decision on bitcoin on: September 08, 2023, 04:35:10 PM
@makus, you have taken a very bold step at the start to follow the leading crypto investment. There are a lot of people who have sold things that you can not imagine just to invest in Bitcoin. Anyway, you have made the right choice after all, besides. Besides, now is the right time for you to click the buy button.
Some people who have made such a good decision end up profiting in the end, so I also believe that your good decision will profit you.
Whilst some people might have gambled by selling properties or borrowing money to buy Bitcoin and it worked out well for them, doesn't mean that's the appropriate thing to do. Just as i've asked the OP, if you are selling to invest for the first time, are you going to continue seling properties when next you want to buy Bitcoin. Obviously it is a personal choice and anybody can do whatsoever they want with their money, but what i am saying is that it is wrong to make it a habit of selling things just because you want to buy Bitcoin.
872  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: My decision on bitcoin on: September 08, 2023, 11:21:00 AM
I have a dream of becoming a long term bitcoin holder but, dreams aren't achieved with words alone, an action is needed for the start up, so I have decided to sell one of my less used phone for the purpose of buying bitcoin.
I'm really eager to purchase my first bitcoin in satoshi.
Do you have a source of income to help you continue accumulating Bitcoin, you want to sell your old and unused phone to buy Bitcoin which might not be a bad idea, but how much does this old phone really cost and if you want to buy Bitcoin next time what again are you going to sell.

Mind you that it is wrong to sell properties just to buy Bitcoin, you might be selling something of less value to you right now, but who knows what you'll sell next, it could prolly be something valuable. Having said that, if you cannot invest in Bitcoin without sellng something, then you prolly should not invest.
873  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2023/2024 on: September 07, 2023, 08:40:58 PM
i think their coach Eddie Howe needs to do anything possible to turn things around if not his job could be at stake cause i feel the club owners won't be patience enough to give him a second chance, they'll be playing next against Brentford and I expect them to use that match to get back to winning ways.
To be fair to Newcastle, in their first 4 matches they have played both City and Liverpool which they lost, but these are games that Newcastle can lose on anyday, even in their best form, they also lost to Brighton, De Zerbi's team is very strong and on their day they can be a problem for any team in the league, but the way Newcastle lost that match is unacceptable, they didn't put up a fight and it was too easy for Brighton. Newcastle have to do better, they are in all four competitions this season, and if they cannot handle the pressure they'll finish poorly in the league.
874  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: September 07, 2023, 08:14:01 PM
European teams must be really relieved after end of the transfer window in Saudi Arabia today. Because Saudi teams have been making really big difficulties for European teams for a long time. This summer they have been the most talked teams with the transfers they have made.
I don't think European teams should be too worried about the amount of money that these Saudi clubs are willing to spend, it is not as if the European clubs are losing the best players to Saudi, most of the players moving there are either above 30 or their time in Europe was already up, players like Haaland, Mbappe, Rodri, Saka, Bellingham, etc, can never think about Saudi Arabia. Quality/high level football will remain in Europe and nothing is about to change that.
875  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Unfortunately, this problem is increasing yearly on: September 07, 2023, 06:25:57 PM
There is a big problem with people in the UK and US when it comes to crypto, they like storing their coins on exchanges, thinking that those 2FA codes and one time passwords for transactions will save them, which is not impossible for SIM swap attacks.
Is this a problem peculiar to U.K. and U.S. citizens? There are quite a lot of people around the world from different nationalities who use exchanges as a bank, they are either lazy, have no knowledge of crypto or they don't want to take the responsibility of being their own bank. Sim swap attack is definitely a problem, but there are other problems for people who use exchanges as banks, problems such as hack, data leak and assets confiscation.
876  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Champions League 2023/24 Season on: September 07, 2023, 04:46:16 PM
Sevilla team is performing very well. Sergio Ramos, one of the best defenders ever, has been added to the team By doing this, the party will become stronger than before. Hope the team will try their best to do well this season.
Well, Sevilla have started this season just as bad as they did last season, i don't know where you got the impression that they are performing very well, they have played three games in La Liga this season and they have lost all three of them and they are rooted in the bottom of the table.

Having said that, it is going to be somewhat difficult for Sevilla to make it out of Groub B in the CL, but their fans might not mind if they crash out and into the Europa league, because they have a knack of winning that competition.
877  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Understanding Crypto wallet and traditional wallets for beginners on: September 07, 2023, 01:20:32 PM
A WALLET in the traditional sense implies physical cash in the wallet or credit cards in the wallet. In crypto, we should avoid using the word wallet because it implies physical cash or credit cards.
I don't think there's any need to point this out, there is what's called "contextual meaning", if you are talking about fiat with someone and you mention wallet, they know what you're talking about, the same way if you mention wallet in a crypto discussion, it is easy to understand what is being said. It isn't rocket science!
like you can use a Trust wallet to store your Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies that are supported by a trust wallet.
Yes you can do that, but you should not use it to keep your Bitcoins, trust wallet is closed source.
878  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2023/2024 on: September 07, 2023, 11:31:19 AM
Manchester United also need to improve before other teams at the top of the table set a big gap between them.
Manchester United have zero chaces of winning the EPL imo, at least not with the group of players they have, they lack that winning mentality and they don't even have the quality to be champions. Manchester United basically have to try and finish in the top four, i think that's the best they can achieve in the EPL this season, they could also try and defend their Carabao cup trophy.

Having said that, despite the fact that EPL clubs will not want City to turn the league into a farmers' league, i'm afraid i cannot see the team that's going to stop them this season, they are going to win it for a historic fourth time in a row; it is even ridiculous to think about it, but Pep is about to pull it off.
879  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Why most of the post aren't bitcoin related topics on: September 06, 2023, 09:42:52 PM
Do we try to reduce our efforts that relates with local news and political tells and channel it to be more of cryptobased topics?
Local news must dey for local board, anywhere wey countrymen gather, at least part of the discussion must concern wetin dey happen for our country, nothing dey bad about am. Na true say some discussions no really dey necessary, but spam discussions don reduce wella for our local board, before we bin dey get too many spam threads, but now most of the threads wey dey this board make sense, so na better step forward.
I think this could help the community for people like us to be self educated with those content rather than local news...
If e get any Bitcoin or crypto related topic wey you wan discuss, then you fit start the thread for our local board and we go join the discussion, if e get anything wey you no too understand about Bitcoin, you fit also ask am as question for our local board here. The board dey move for the right direction and i no think say any change dey necessary.

But I think Salah could be likely to join a Saudi team after the end of this season. He will have one year to go on his contract with Liverpool in the end. What do you think about this?
I think you are correct, Al Ittihad started their bid for Salah a little too late, i think if they had approached Liverpool with this ridiculous amount early on in the transfer window, they would have sold Salah and used the money to replace him with a younger attacker, but right now they cannot sell Salah because they would be unable to replace him.

Having said that, if Al Ittihad are still interested next summer with ridiculous amounts such as this, Liverpool will sell him, and it would be good for all parties, Salaha would have only a year left on his current contract, and he will be 32 years old by then, a good time for Liverpool to let him go and still smile to the bank.
