9102  Local / Brasil / Re: Qual exchange brasileira você usa? on: February 12, 2020, 10:09:57 PM
Muito bom
Eu uso a walltime, embora use pouco as brasileiras.

9103  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: [BETA] BPIP Extension - user info add-on / extension for Firefox, Chrome, et al on: February 12, 2020, 10:35:01 AM
Can you show trust ratings in every board?
Theymos won't do this, but maybe you guys could Smiley

We promise  not to judge users based on their ratings lol
9104  Local / Brasil / Re: Mercado brasileiro on: February 12, 2020, 09:33:49 AM

https://data.bitcoinity.org/markets/volume/2y?c=e&t=b

9105  Local / Brasil / Re: Mercado brasileiro on: February 11, 2020, 09:06:50 PM

Realmente a queda é drástica. Os dados mencionados são esses

Fonte: https://cointradermonitor.com/preco-bitcoin-brasil

9106  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: [BETA] BPIP Extension - user info add-on / extension for Firefox, Chrome, et al on: February 11, 2020, 11:18:08 AM
I Just installed the extension in my firefox mobile and.... nothing happened.

I tried on "request desktop version" as well

Edit: sorry it is working. But everything was turnorr by default (except bpip logo). Maybe everything should be on by default?
9107  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Please need advice about this project on: February 11, 2020, 10:39:17 AM
Te The problem with those websites is that you can't trust they aren't trying to get your money

For example, they could buy a low volume altcoin and say "hey, everyone buy altcoin x now"
When the price goes up  they sell and after that "you can sell now"
9108  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: URL and Hyperlink! on: February 10, 2020, 10:38:52 PM

Example:
https://www.google.com/#spf=1581369720691
DON'T BE FOOLED ABOUT THE HYPERLINK ABOVE! IT'S NOT REALLY GOOGLE AS WE CAN SEE. IT WILL REDIRECT TO WIKIPEDIA!
Code:
[url=https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hyperlink]https://www.google.com/#spf=1581369720691[/url]

This is important to prevent phishing, as many phishing attempts do that, especially via email.

Always double check destination URLs,  and use virus total in unknown websites.
9109  Economy / Services / Re: "wallet recovery" services without a wallet.dat file? on: February 10, 2020, 07:43:49 PM
Your website domain is a bit strange, walletrecovery.ru

There are many similar websites with similar domain names. Maybe your topic was deleted because someone may have considered your website a phishing? I wasn't brave enough to click it lol

Looks clean on virus total

9110  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin sidechains available today? on: February 08, 2020, 11:39:04 PM
Squatter

If a court decides that bitpay charged me incorrectly , in a bitcoin transaction,  that transaction cannot be reversed. A judge can't even force bitpay to make a  new transaction
A judge may force bitpay to disappear,  but not to make a transaction.

If a judged decide that I must pay 0.1 btc to bitpay, I cannot be forced to do so
They may sell my house,  but can't touch my btc.

However,  if I own 10bucks in a bank account a judge can force the bank to make the transaction.

This is what you couldn't "decypher"

On the other hand, chargebacks really have  nothing to do with transaction reversibility. As I said, it is a value that the whole banking system arbitrary  decided not to  correct their own mistakes.

120 days is not a technical reason, but merely convenience
It is convenience because a judge can determine the bank to pay for that chargeback even if it is years old.

When I have more time I will look for more information regarding reversibility in bank transactions.
Actually,  like the russian example I gave you, banking transactions are happening elsewhere, not in our account directly (the russian money went to the bank, but not to antonopoulos account).  They are basically a custodial service.

In the mean time, try to find your terms and agreement you signed when you opened your bank account.
9111  Local / Português (Portuguese) / Re: [Tradução] Por que o KYC é extremamente perigoso - e inútil on: February 08, 2020, 05:57:22 PM

9112  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: [BPIP] Bitcointalk Public Information Project [Back in Action] on: February 08, 2020, 05:39:15 PM
I Want to test the firefox extension as well.
Do I need the pm to download it?
9113  Economy / Services / Re: [FULL] ChipMixer Signature Campaign | Sr Member+ | Up to 0.0375 BTC/w on: February 08, 2020, 01:45:48 PM

Just a small correction

I created a segwit address using ledger chrome app in 2018. It is able to create segwit addresses.,

However,  I would remove chrome app from the this list as it is not supported anymore by ledger. I don't know even if you can still download it, and certainly it is not recommended.
9114  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin sidechains available today? on: February 08, 2020, 01:02:48 PM
If you take chargebacks out of the equation, what situations are you even talking about?

Chargeback 120 or 90 days is just an arbitrary value.
Or do you think there is something like a lock time after 120 days, at 8pm, NYC time, that all transactions become irreversible?  What if it is a Sunday, does the lock time goes to 121 or 118 days? That's makes absolutely no sense.

That's just that: an arbitrary value when the bank decides that it will just reverse transaction by a court order (or someone else's order)
Quote
You're painting this situation where Visa (or any bank) can arbitrarily reverse payments from years or decades into the past. That's preposterous. No bank could ever trust the validity of any payment, ever, if that were true.

Of course they can. Have you ever read those papers you signed when you opened your bank account? You basically signed that tour money is not yours and They can do whatever they please. This is no misinformation,  I just signed some papers like that few month ago
The system is based in trust, this is why bitcoin is revolutionary,  because it is trust less and irreversible.

I saw an antonopoulos video few time ago where he said he received some thousand dollars from a Russian.

The Russian had a name similar to a terrorist  , and the bank kept his money (that didnt even reach his account)for about 6 months.

They only made the transaction go to his account balance after they were convinced that this wasn't a terrorist transaction.

That's how banking system works. This is no misinformation.  Things are arbitrary,  no payment is definitive,  and they control everything
Thy can revser old transactions and give you a negative value. Or make a "new transaction,  if you prefer that term.

If in 2 years they decide that that russian is a terrorist,  the money he received is going back to their security department and antonopoulos will have a negative balance (if he already spent it)

That's the beautiful of centralized system. You can do whatever you want. We signed papers allow them to do so.

The bank isn't "reversing" anything. They are paying the damages ordered by a court judgment. That's an entirely new transaction.
As it is a chargeback lol a new transaction

You are comparing bitpay with a bank. You can't.
If a judge determine bitpay has to reverse,  and it doesn't make another transaction to pay for that money, bitpaybwill close it doors. Ok.

But the judge cannot force that bitcoin to go back and forth. Bitpay may decide to never work again and keep that bitcoin for himself.

So, to sum up:
Bank transaction are not irreversible,  even after 90 days. That's an arbitrary value that they won't revise their own mistakes after 90 days.
9115  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin sidechains available today? on: February 07, 2020, 11:14:41 PM
Visa transactions, or any bank transaction, can be reverted at any time. You can reverse a transaction from 1990 if the owner of the bank (or visa) wants.

This isn't true. The filing window on chargebacks (enforced by both Visa and Mastercard) is 120 days, maximum. The filing window for ACH payments is 90 days. That's when payments like these can be reasonably considered "settled."

You are talking about charge back, which is a money that the institution gives back to the client due to an error or scam. It is just a limit freely determined by them to keep our money due to their fault.

This has nothing to do with transaction reversibility.
If a judge determine that the bank charged you incorrectly,  for example, that transaction can be reversed no matter how long it was.
9116  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: **TAKE YOUR COINS OFF EXCHANGES** on: February 07, 2020, 09:47:53 PM
I doubt this would trigger a bull run.
Probably many exchanges would broke and we could see a giant crash   if everyone just withdrawal al your coins lol

Anyway,  everyone really should withdrawal yo8r coins. But due to security reasons,  not to trigger a bull run.
9117  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Electrum wacthing only wallet on: February 07, 2020, 09:45:51 PM
The things is that accidently made my wallet into a "watching only" by accident.

There is no way to accidentally make a watch only wallet.
A watch only walley is a wallet which you inserted only your public addresses or public key, which are the information you need to receive coins.

If you had the private keys, the information need o spend coins, you would have created a normal wallet.

You were scammed by that mixer probably,  which gave you  only the public keys information.

You can check your  email again and see if they gave you the private keys as well. If that's the case you can retrieve your funds. If you don't have the private keys, your money is lost forever.

Good topic

I fee months ago I wrote a post about the cypherpunk manifesto , which I will post a few lines here:

Cypherpunk Manifesto.
Cypherpunk Manifesto was written in 1993 by Eric Hughes. It is amazing to see something that was written almost 30 years ago to be so relevant today.

I will post here a few lines, which I believe everyone should know:

Quote
Privacy is the power to selectively reveal oneself to the world.

Quote
Since we desire privacy, we must ensure that each party to a transaction have knowledge only of that which is directly necessary for that transaction. Since any information can be spoken of, we must ensure that we reveal as little as possible. In most cases personal identity is not salient. When I purchase a magazine at a store and hand cash to the clerk, there is no need to know who I am. ..... I cannot here selectively reveal myself; I must always reveal myself.

This example of buying a magazine is amazing. If my identification is not relevant for the transaction,  there is absolutely no sense in revealing it.

If we must always reveal ourselves we have no privacy .

I don't want people to know that I deal with crypto,  because that's is something which I do as a hobby in my personal life.
9119  Local / Português (Portuguese) / Re: Bitcoin - Perguntas e Respostas. on: February 06, 2020, 04:35:01 PM

Hello

I am from brazil as well.
I believe the proper way to advertise your exchange here in bitcointalk is through an ANN thread (announcement)

For that you should hire a professional campaign manager.  There are some in the Portuguese board, and they will make images and the proper advertise for your company.

I know your exchange and it has a good reputation here in Brazil. I didnt know it was the same exchange, because your topic here is in English.
