961  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: What is the best CPU to mine with on: April 29, 2018, 04:58:04 AM
Xeon Phi. Hands down no contest. The 7210 gets 2800 H/s CryptoNight at around 250W at the wall. I am planning on leading a group buy in the near future for about $1250 per, with these particulars:

- You own the CPU and the board, and I am legally bound to ship on demand. You will be issued an ETH20 token as proof of ownership, so ownership may be easily transferred.

- I will provide internet, power, cooling, electricity, and administration for the first 12 months for free. You just give me an address.

- After 12 months there will be a service fee, but a smart contract will limit my profit.

I'm pretty damn sure you won't find a better CPU, or a better deal, for that matter, unless you make your own GPU farm.

Sorry for the digression, but it seemed relevant.

a single processor gets 2800 mhs? are those the intel
cards you can plug in via pci?
962  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Happy New Years! Seventh alt coin thread! on: April 29, 2018, 01:28:54 AM
Just kept on zec it turns a small profit steady.
Im still that way on xevan.  I am in the process of finding an open source equihash miner that I can compile myself and not have the BS devfees and extra nonsense like EWBF's trojans....  Stay tuned for that.  I have yet (to this day) mine anything equihash for longer than a 6-12 hour test.  Everything else has always been more profitable.

Doing the ~month on RVN was a bad idea.   Came out with pennies comparatively.  not even gonna consider barely-listed coins for a while.

I have noticed xevan profitability dwindling;  I smell an under the curtains ASIC at play possibly...  The timing is seeming about right.....

saw the new yescryptR16 thing.... just today.   Looking at its short run (read its thread)... and how fast it made it to the GPU side... quite a day and age we are living in right now.  I plan to attempt to compile the source that turns a 150Kh miner into a 500Kh miner tonight; and give it a whirl on my machine at home.  zpool has a stratum port for the algo... so Ill report back my thoughts once/if I get some success/failures.  Hopefully I can get this one licked as easy as I got the XMR fork compiled.  If worthy;  ill add it to my mminer batch configs and push an update for it.

Ended up being asked to come back to my old job to work as a Surveyor again for nearly 2x the pay.... couldn't refuse.... been keeping my weekdays rather solid with little time for myself.   Their main guy moved on to greener pastures, and they really need the help.   The $$$ is good as well, because I am no longer dependent on my mining revenue to pay the bills.   I am actually saving BTC now instead of spending it as it comes in.... my last BTC purchase was to spotswood for a frame, just because BTC was the best method of payment....   and my exchange accounts have been doing rather well recently.  No bots needed.

I hope to try and keep my presence, projects and activities here as on track as I am able to....   It's been a long week, I usually don't leave the office until 7PM.... I'm shitting out corner records and records of survey to submit to the county at record pace......

I quit a 120k job muself to mine full time, kinda thinking of getting andother development job lower stress and lower paying too so i can managbe my gear still and hodl more coins

I don’t understand why people jump off raven , i have around 12 1080ti 1070ti and 1070 mix rigs on raven
the last two months , price has been steady and diff is even dropping , lowesr i mined was 3000 a day now im at 5k a day with the same hash , thats near $160 a day which is double what i earned doing eth. and 1/3 more on anything else, its steady consistent and easy, I might buy some lux mine a bit of peigon but profits on raven has only been getting better i have around 900 mhs
964  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: GPU mining will die in 2018! on: April 28, 2018, 03:43:52 PM
Mining BTC with GPUs died out years ago.

yup and good years they were.

i will never get rid of my 6870 and 5830, they are largely responsible for my stack as while i did sell coins through the years i kept enough to make my wife and i extremely happy.. i keep meaning to mount them in a frame and hang them on a wall as they were so good to me.

I realized BTC was worth something in October of 2013, by that time GPU mining of BTC had already died out. I got some Asicminer Block Erupters and was so impressed with BTC and mining I went all in on a Black Arrow (named after a UK rocket and "space" program) ASIC pre-order as the market on Bitfury ASICs had dried up and I missed the deadline for the KnC Jupiter (more "space"). I saw all the coins the Jupiter customers were getting and Black Arrow seemed to have a good history of delivering miners based on Bitfury chips.

Black Arrow ended up stealing my money and never shipped the miner I ordered. Cry  When I made the pre-order I had a small amount of money left and also purchased an old used HD 6990 5790 for $250, I made ROI in about a week solo mining Nova Coin. Cheesy  It finally died in a shower of sparks about 8 or so months back of fan failure two years ago but damn that card mined a lot of coins., it would do 50 MH/s ETH putting my new RX 580s doing 30 MH/s to shame.

oh man black arrow.. i almost preordered one as well as one from another company around that time (hashfast? dont recall the exact name). i figured between the two companies one would come through. riiiight. whew, dodged that bullet.

i did have a bfl FPGA that did ok, mainly because they were so slow getting their asic out it was profitable for a while. as well as a couple block erupters. but we all know where bfl went, and good riddance. think bitmain is bad? imagine if bfl became the dominant asic provider.

my only regret is that i didnt order more cards back in 2011. but btc was high risk and fairly unknown back then and no one knew where it would go. i was always into distributed computing (seti@home, F@H) so it was kinda right up my ally. and of course i got to buy shiny new cards for games Smiley i looked at it more as a new hobby than a get rich thing, as well as wanting to be part of the "grand experiment" of decentralized money.

my 1st btc was earned on a 4850 (testing the waters) but as soon as i figured out the process of turning btc into fiat in a bank account (mtgox and dwolla) i ordered the 6870, and later the 5830. my wife was like you paid hundred of dollars for THAT?? (the 6870). of course now she doesnt even blink when i order gear for mining. she just smiles when she looks at our bank and crypto accounts.

geeze memories Smiley

The CEO of Black Arrow (Alex Sovu) just got convicted and sentenced to 11 years for hacking and robbing the banks ATMs. I can't imagine this clown gave up turning his company into a multi-billion dollar business just to rob me and make sure I didn't make any money, WTF? Bitmain (located across the street from BA) delivered my Antminer S5 at least a week early and now they're bigger than Nvidia. After defrauding me and most of his customers the Sovu turned to defrauding ATMS, WTF? The guy paid a huge bail bond (with my stolen money) and is now on the run from his 11 year conviction.

The lengths this asshole, his company and various co-conspirators went to make me a butt-hurt loser is fucking mind blowing.

Shows that he was a crook from the start, although they did at some point try to deliver some units , they were late though and not profitable so they just decided to scam the rest of thier pre order customers.  thier not the only scammers in those wild crypto days, beekeeper scanmes millions , and the hashlets guys destoyed faith in cloud mining.  U just have to get iver it

966  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Best CPU Mineable Coins in 2018 and CPU Mining Guides on: April 28, 2018, 06:08:07 AM
I got the wallet of roi do you pplmine solo there or to a pool?

If you are a cpu miner then solo mining won't get you anything unless you have a CPU rig or if the coin has just launched.

There are plenty of coins you can mine on cpu. Personally I still like Zoin and B2BCoin. I used to mine Myriad and Unitus on yescrypt as well.

why do i only get 280 h/s with an i7 mining zoin?
i get the same eith a ryzen , and dual core pentuim wth?

im using cpuminer 8.8.8.8 and the avx2 build

I guess its a good thing that you are warning other ppl, and thank you for that. But as for yourself, if this happened to me, i would not even think twice about it. New drivers usually means better stability (its its not an early release), and 20sols is basicly nothing. But thank you anyway.
thanks for the warning

For those w/ 1080/1080ti's

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=3370685.0

http://cryptomining-blog.com/9757-get-up-to-about-50-mhs-on-eth-with-gtx-1080-ti-and-ohgodanethlargementpill/

It's a tool that injects modified gddr5x memory timings during runtime. Kicks the ethash up another notch

I saw this, is this something that can be used to boost hashpower for Cryptonightv7 aswell? I've always tought about Ethash and Cryptonight as the same memory intense algorithms but maybe im wrong? Someone should know this here!  Huh

Tested on XMR/using Claymore and Stak -- and gets a boost around 10% more, probably due to Cryptonite is not as memory heavy as ETH and ZEC.

I tested on ETH and it's impressive ~ easy 50mhs per 1080ti

I will not be surprised if the PILL can boost ZEC mining impressively too (testing as soon as I get more 1080ti off Linux to WIN10)

I experimented giving the pill to the LUX miner (z-enemy-v1.08 on WIN10, 1080ti) -- and mining went BEAST MODE !

As long as you have big GDDR5X, like what the 1080/1080ti have - the PILL should work???

SMOS dev is testing the PILL currently under Linux ... hope this can be reality soon.

even at 50 mhs per card, 1080 ti is so much better at other algos its still not worth wasting on eth

Anyone having troubles with suprnova at the moment?
so much for suprnova being a legitimate pool, enemy miner needs a failover option though
this illustraters that.

Any examples of how to add a failover to zenemy 1.08 using command line?

974  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: RX Vega 56 - Help Me Choose on: April 27, 2018, 12:18:40 AM
I'm looking to buy 2x RX Vega 56. (I see they are more efficient at mining than Vega 64 am I right?) But I don't know which ones are better than others, and if there is a major difference in say PowerColor Red Dragon and Sapphire PULSE.

My opinion: Hands down the best looking GPU today is the Sapphire RX Vega 56/64 Nitro+. I would LOVE to have one or two of those. But they seem to cost $999 right now and that just doesn't seem to be a smart buy.

So looking at other cheaper options including PowerColor Red Dragon, Red Devil, Sapphire PULSE, and if it's worth it to wait on the Nitro+.

Would it be worth it to go with the PULSE over the Red Dragon?

Any first hand experience or well read reviews would be appreciated.
I have 5 vegas , two frontiers i bough forc $800
the vegas i got for 580

i would suggest you buy the nitros or reference

i saw some open box ref cards on newegg last week $568

Guys do you know why my reported hashrate at the pool is about the HALF of my actual hashrate?

Hashrate at the pool: 44 mh/s ----> https://prnt.sc/ja3txk
My actual hashrate: 87/Mh/s ----> http://prntscr.com/ja3utj

Reported hashrate became higher, but according to statistics the hares was as it was.
https://ethermine.org/miners/4ddca273ae086a88f32bebf3ed8ba22f59e2c0b5/dashboard

both you guys need to wait more than 2 hours. christ.

run it for 24hrs +

this work s. my poolside hashrate lines up with my miner output.
unless eth goes back up to around 1000 its beter to mine lux even with this enlargement
976  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: LTC Network hash rate on: April 25, 2018, 09:06:46 PM
LTC Network spiked to 300 TH's yesterday and today it is back down to 210 Th's.

Did people start mining again because the spike in litecoin and now turned their equipment off as the price has gone down? Very strange.
bitmain has been selling toasters to mine ltc for $300, id expect the hashrate to hit 400th soon
Basically this, and I would not be surprised if Bitmain goes ahead and releases a new Scrypt miner soon (could be the reason they're selling L3+s cheaply now). They actually took the L3+ off and replaced it with the L3++ at $725 (with odd wording and no specifics- "Specifications of L3++ maybe slightly higher than L3+), though it's not exactly hard to get coupons for cheap here.

That matches my analysis, I have coupons but I wont buy anything until i see what the total hashrate
rises too around june
977  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: 1080Ti Specific - Best mining option on: April 25, 2018, 08:20:01 PM
I have a small rig on the side running with 2 1070, I'm building a new 1080ti rig.
But can i add one 1080ti to rig with 1070 it will work fine together?
Should I mine the same thing with al three or can I arrange 1080 for the others too without much headache?

If it's possible, yes (the others have already answered you on that)
If you should mine the same algo or different for the 1070s and the 1080ti, that depends on what you mine.

If you mine a specific coin and hold it, then maybe you should mine with all cards but it depends on the algo. If you mine whatever coin is more profitable and swap it, then these 2 cards don't excel on the same algos and you might want to setup two instances of NemosMiner or a similar software.

For example a 1070 is "mh... okay" for ETH but the 1080ti is terrible. On the X17 they're pretty equal and I believe the 1080ti performs better on X16r.
It's not hard to set every card on a different miner and algo, it depends on your knowledge and your nerves!

i keep mixed 1080ti and 1070 rigs due to power
reqs on the 1080tis, i keep them on the same algos, 1070s are not as good on 16r but they are far better than any amd card
