Face lock isn't a good way to secure your bitcoin wallet neither will a finger print be the best option. It is easy for one to get access to your wallet unknowingly to you if you are using any of these security methods to secure your bitcoin wallet.
Face ID and password/passcode isn't a bad combination to use on your device, you're not using it to secure your wallet per se, but to prevent unauthorized access into your device, and you could have other important and private stuffs/files in your device that you do not want others to see. Even if someone finds a way into your device despite this, your wallet file should be encrypted with a unique password, don't use the same password you used to lock your device to also encrypt your wallet file, you could even go a step further to encrypt your wallets app on your phone, thus for somone to gain access to your wallet, they'll have to break three different encryptions. Having said that, store only an amount you can afford to lose on your online wallet.

Manchester City have reached an agreement with Chelsea for the transfer of Cole Palmer for a fee of £40 million plus add ons of £5 million. I don't understand what Manchester City was thinking by agreeing to the bid made by Chelsea for such a talented young player and we know that oftentimes Cole Palmer can be the key to victory when needed in an important game.
Well, City have become so confident about their dominance in England that they don't even mind selling their players to a direct rival, they did it last season, sold Gabriel Jesus and Zinchenko to Arsenal, yet City still won the league, now they have sold one very talented player who made it out of their academy to Chelsea, we'd see if it matters at the end of the season.

Pep Guardiola likes a really small squad and he does not like to keep players who are unhappy, i think that's part of the reason why Palmer has moved to Chelsea, and i wish him luck. Having said that, Chelsea are buying too many players, i'm pretty sure it would be a headache for Pochettino to manage all these players.

IMO the optimal approach involves employing two separate apps on your phone for conducting transactions, thus enhancing security. The first app would be utilized for creating the transaction, while the second one would serve to confirm the transaction using a different code. I'm curious to know if there's a wallet with this kind of functionality available for phones.
There is no such thing as what you're explaining, i think what you are trying to suggest is an air-gapped wallet, but this isn't how it works. If what you meant is an air-gapped wallet, it works with two devices; not "two separate apps", the first device is offline whilst the other is online (and is watching-only), the latter creates the transaction and also broadcasts it, whilst the former signs the transaction. As for wallets you can create an air-gapped wallets on, electrum is perfect for it.

Recently we saw news about João Félix joining Barcelona because of interest in this team but this transfer is not going to be done because of the financial issues in Barcelona.
Even if Barcelona hires João Félix and he plays there for a loan, still, Barcelona needs to release two players to hire João Félix which is expensive for this team.
Joao Felix's future is somewhat uncertain at the moment, it is pretty obvious that he isn't going to play for Athletico Madrid again, so he has to leave if he wants to continue playing football. I don't think Barcelona can afford to get him before this transfer window closes, Barcelona are in a financial crisis, thus there is no way they can get Joao Felix registered with them, except there are outgoings. Having said that, i think Joao Felix is going to end up in Saudi Arabia, their transfer window doesn't close at the same time with that of Europe, so they still have some time to work on the deal if Joao Felix's move to Barca falls through.

Ten Hag is trying to stabilize the Manchester United squad. I would definitely say that this team is pretty stable now compared to before. But it is not enough. Their performance is not consistent. A particularly weak defense led to a sudden deterioration in their performance. Manchester United lost against Tottenham. I think we will see a similar result again against Arsenal.
I don't believe that Erik Ten Hag is going to bring the glory days back to Manchester United, i think he is slightly overhyped, he is a good manager, but not a great or fantastic one and i don't think Manchester United are going to win any major trophy this season. His United team are erratic, win today, lose tomorrow and that's not good enough to win major trophies. As for their game against Arsenal this weekend, i think Arsenal are the favorites, and it is either they win or the game ends in a stalemate.
966  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Just Learnt About A Major Risk Involved In Stable Coins on: August 29, 2023, 07:47:03 PM
I never knew about Pegging and Depegging. But after my previous post on whether to save in stable coins or my local currency, I got to know that even stable coins have their own risks involved, in which Depegging is one of the major risks
How did you think stable coins get their 'value', they are of course pegged to certain fiat currencies or other cryptocurrencies, thus they can also lose their peg or the issuing company can go insolvent, and since they hold the reserves that keep the stable coin at 1:1 on what they are backed by, it then becomes useless.

Having said that, i'd advice you to save your money in your local fiat bank rather than in stable coins, the money in your bank account is insured up to a certain amount and if the bank fails you'll get something back, the average bank also provides better security for your money than with stable coins which can be frozen in any wallet that it is stored in.

While signing both Caicedo and Enzo are obviously clear mistakes since Chelsea willing to spend money double from their market value just because they have a lot money.
I wouldn't say Chelsea made a mistake signing Enzo Fernandez and Moises Caicedo, they are both excellent midfielders that any manager would wish to have in their side, and they are also very young, Enzo is 22 years old, whilst Caicedo is 21, thus they are for the present and the future (if they decide to stay in Chelsea for the long term).

What i don't agree with is the signing fee for these players, it is definitely ridiculous and far above what their valuation should be, but i guess it is what it is, the transfer market these days is a joke, so much money being thrown around on players that don't even merit it.
968  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2023/2024 on: August 29, 2023, 02:59:14 PM
Arsenal has no chances of winning Manchester United, after watching their games during the weekend, Manchester United has a good chance of winning Arsenal with high margin this weekend. Both team are building their team and the fans Will wait to see whose team is ready to challenge for the Title with Manchester city this season.
I actually think Arsenal are favorites in this game, they have started the season better than Manchester United and the match is also at the Emirates, thus i think Arsenal have the advantage. I don't know what you saw this weekend that makes you think Manchester United are in such good form, yes they came back from two goals down to beat Nottingham Forest 3-2, but they shouldn't even be going 2-0 down to Nottingham Forest in the first place, if it were a bigger team, it'd have been game, set and match.

Having said that, it is either Arsenal wins, or the game ends in a draw, as for which of them would be in the title battle, it is definitely Arsenal for me, i can't see Manchester United competing for the EPL title this season or even winning it.
969  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What are the differences between these wallets? on: August 28, 2023, 08:19:10 PM
Trust wallet is open source and Electrum closed source.
Have you mixed things up here? Well, Trust wallet is closed source and electrum is open source, not the other way round!
If you are a newbie, you don't need to know everything immediately. When i started, i was hacked, as many others.
Maybe it's not the best way but if you have under 1000$ in any crypto, i'd say to keep or buy them on binance/coinbase.
Why? Because those 2 are the most trusted, just turn on every 2FA they have and don't brag about it.
You should stop giving advice to users here, especially newcomers who are looking for the best sort of advice, that you were hacked doesn't mean every other newbie should experience that fate. OP don't keep any of your funds in a centralized exchange, be it binance or coinbase, neither of them is safe/trusted to store your funds for you, always use reputable non-custodial wallets to hodl your funds.
Online wallet are the least you could use or get as a recommendation for use because they are not safe for your advantage, you will not have access to the private keys because they are connected to the internet and mostly are mobile wallets,
You've go it wrong here, online wallets are wallets that are connected to the internet, it doesn't mean you won't have access to your private keys, electrum is an online wallet, but you have access to your private keys when you use it.

Haaland needs to score more to match the level he set earlier, or the fans of the team are starting to resent him.
Lol, how can you even say such a thing, Haaland has started the season pretty well, three goals in three games is great, and even though he doesn't score as much as he did last season, that's not enough for City fans to resent him. What even matters to the team/fans is not even Haaland scoring, but for the team to continue winning and for Haaland to also help the team to keep on winning.
971  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2023/2024 on: August 28, 2023, 05:45:55 PM
By the way Darwin Nunez managed to improve his confidence and performance after much criticism last season I hope this is not the first and the last so he can compete with Haaland or replace Harry Kane on the top scorer list.
The media tried to establish a sort of competition/comparison between Haaland and Nunez last season, but sadly it didn't work out so well for them, and Haaland was in a world of his own, whilst Nunez had a first season to forget about. The worry for Nunez isn't about competing with Haaland per se or banging in goals like Kane who just left the EPL, Nunez has to work on himself, he has to convinve his manager that he is good enough to lead the line for Liverpool, right now he is not doing that and he still comes into games from the bench, even though he scored the two winning goals at the weekend, he is still yet to break into Liverpool's first team.

I felt it would be appropriate to ask if it’s right or okay for me to come in and start making posts here without really formally introducing myself or is there something I should maybe do to attain the privilege of making posts here.
It isn't necessary that you introduce yourself in the forum before you start making posts, there is no rule that compels you to do that, you can create an account and immediately start posting.
I’m really new here and not really fully aware of the modus operandi of the forum, and I also wish to tender an apology if I have already defaulted ignorantly by making posts without formally introducing myself here.
There's no stringent modus operandi here, it is just a discussion forum for Bitcoin and other whatnots. You are welcome, and you can see the rules of the forum here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=703657.0

On the other hand, We were surprised by Everton because they still failed to win in 3 matches earlier this season. It looks like Dyche is still having trouble bringing big changes to Everton this season. The other teams are quite strong but they are so weak I think Dyche should be able to quickly overcome their unstable form.
Everton have only managed to escape relegation in the last two EPL seasons, they have started this one in the worst possible way as well, losing 3 games out of 3 and it looks like it is going to be another relegation battle for them, they might not be third time lucky this season and could actually drop to the Championship. The hierarchy at Everton isn't managing the club well, a drop to the Championship might actually be a wake-up call for them, but the season is still pretty long, so yeah.
974  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Save in Stable Coin Or Save in Local Currency? on: August 27, 2023, 05:22:47 PM
The value of my local currency is constantly falling against the USD dollar, with inflation on the rise my savings in fiat might not really worth much. Having my savings in stablecoins, as the dollar is rising against the naira, it gives me the opportunity to get the current exchange rate whenever I have need for my money.
Fair enough, but mind you that the dollar isn't rising per se, because it is also affected by inflation, the thing is the Naira is falling faster than the dollar, or in other words it is in a worse situation that the dollar, thus when you compare it against the dollar, it then seems as if the Naira is dumping, whilst the dollar is rising (which actually isn't the case).
Stablecoins have easy accessibility and usability. That cannot be said about fiats because banks sometimes do have network challenges and one could be denied of his funds whenever this occurs.
Stable coins are also centralized coins and you can be denied access to it, the issuers can actually freeze it in absolutely any wallet you decide to hold it in, and not to talk of the obvious fact that it can be depped at anytime.
Banks in my country charges monthly card maintenance fee, funds deposit and withdrawal fees and also they charge you a particular parcent for every transaction you make.
There's nothing wrong in paying the service fees for these services you just mentioned.
975  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Crypto scam: A retired correction officer charged as defrauded $600,000 on: August 27, 2023, 04:57:51 PM
And so, being corrections officer, it could have added some reputation and trust by the investors and then who wouldn't want 20%.
Fair enough, but still not an excuse. Don't trust; but verify! That is very important for everyone to know, whether it is crypto investment or not, so long as you are putting your money into something, always verify the details of it all and not just blindly trust whatsoever you are told.

Having said that, the no risk offer was enough to get to gullible investors, it is really sad that everyday people lose money to schemes such as this, even when there are enough red flags, i think greed also has a part to play in alluring the victims.
976  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Indian's Crypto Regulations At G20 summit on: August 27, 2023, 11:10:09 AM
Narendra Modi has astutely observed that his country India will suffer a lot in the future if his country obstructs the resolution of cryptocurrencies as per the global acceptance of cryptocurrencies across the world.
I find this to be very ironic, because India as a nation is already obstructing the growth of cryptocurrencies for Indians. India is a crypto-unfriendly nation, and for quite a long time their citizens who used crypto were uncertain of their fate because the country was proposing a ban on crypto. In 2018, they first of all banned banks from handling crypto transactions, that ban was lifted two years later, but little did Indians know that it was because the government wanted to "extort" money from Indians who use crypto.

The tax rate on crypto gains in India is now as high as 30%, that is extremely high and discouraging for Indians who use cryptocurrencies, if the government of India wants to promote crypto (which i am sure they don't care about), they should start by reviewing their crypto tax laws, which is basically stealing from people at this point.
977  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Save in Stable Coin Or Save in Local Currency? on: August 27, 2023, 07:26:26 AM
Do you think it's better to save in stable coin like usdt or I should just keep the money in the bank?
Mind you that hodling stable coins is not investing, your money doesn't accrue any return. The issuing corporation just pegs your money to a fiat currency or to another cryptocurrency, and it can be depegged at anytime or the issuing corporation can become insolvent and thus your stable coin becomes useless.

I'd definitely save my money in the bank than in a stable coin, a bank has more security and insurance of funds, meaning that if the bank collapses, you will get at least a certain amount of your money back; all of these doesn't exist in stable coins and it is even easier for a stable coin to fail than for a bank.
978  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Caution to connecting your wallet to unverified/unknown website on: August 26, 2023, 10:41:22 PM
Before connecting to a Website, make sure its a verified one.
Do not connect your wallet to any website, even if you think the website/project is legitimate, the moment you either connect your wallet to this sort of website or enter your seed phrase anywhere, consider that wallet compromised and if you haven't already lost your funds, you should move it to a newly created wallet.

If you must participate in airdrops or bounties, use a new wallet all of the time, address reuse is bad enough, Wink thus use different addresses or wallets for your bounty hunting or airdrop hunting, and don't combine it with your main stash.
979  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: August 25, 2023, 08:43:27 PM
Tha't not just about Toni Kroos, yesterday Carlo Ancelotti also said he is not happy with the Saudis spending this huge amount of money this summer to hire players. He also thinks players like Gabri Veiga with a younger age should not accept these offers from the Arabian teams because they can still play for years in Europe. Also, he asked FIFA to do something about these offers the Saudis send.
Whilst i agree with both Toni Kroos and Carlo Ancelotti, i don't think there's anything FiFa can do about this right now, the Saudi's have the money and they are willing to use it to develop their league by alluring world class players, when the Chinese super league were doing something similar some couple of years ago (though not on this scale), nobody asked FiFa to step in.

Having said that, i'd have to agree that it is quite embarrassing to see young and precocious players move to Saudi Arabia, this sort of move should be left for players that are at least above 30 years of age. Anyway, the money that these Saudi teams are offering is really mouthwatering and sometimes i don't blame players who accept their offer.
980  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Ledger, safe or not? on: August 25, 2023, 07:13:14 PM
It is more or less known that Ledger is a good wallet but no one can guarantee it 100% that there will be no problems. Since it is a wallet there will be some risk but there have been no reports of Ledger hardware wallet.
There have been reports of ledger hack, anti privacy, ledger recovery which is a security issue, etc!
Hardware wallet is a private wallet and you will have full access to it so there is not much risk involved there. So you can use it to store your bitcoins there if you want.
What is a private wallet? However Ledger is closed source and even though it is non-custodial, ledger recovery proves that it is possible for your seed phrase to leave the 'secure element', so that will definitely be a problem for any customer who is conscious of their security.
However, since there are many alternative hardware wallets in the market, you can research them and use the one that you feel is the most secure. however, Ledger wallet is still very popular in the market
Exactly, there are so many better alternatives, and Ledger is popular because it was one of first hardware wallets that quite a lof of people bought and recommended.
