961  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Is there any point to start trading with 20$? on: April 29, 2023, 10:18:06 AM
I would say that $20 is a very small amount but that was enough to start a journey in trading as if ever you fail and lose it all, it was not hurt compared to $100. However, never think that $20 is easy to grow, it was different when you are using a huge amount. But as a beginner, you don't have to think about either instead, make a prior to learning trading more as it was too easy for you then to achieve it. I believe that most traders are starting with small capital and slowly it becomes bigger. You can make it as an example as to know that trading is not a quick-rich game.
962  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Trading not a get rich quick on: April 28, 2023, 09:37:07 PM
This is the result of overly thinking of ourselves that we can do trading without proper education and skills. A result of using other's money thinking that we can generate more while using a huge capital. And the story reminds us that only trade the amount that we can afford to lose and of course, that money should not becoming from anyone, it should be coming from our pocket.
And most of all, we have to know the consenquences in trading. We can't guarantee profit assurance that is why we should not be confident enough, most especially if we are just new.
963  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Any advice for invest my first 600$ in altcoins? on: April 28, 2023, 11:03:42 AM
I can't suggest the best for you.  All projects that you will invest there are risks.  You just choose what kind of risk you can accept.  I agree with some of the projects you have invested in but if it were me I would choose projects like ADA, Doge, XRP, CRO and CFX.  It is also for long term investment.

I had ADA, Doge and I just sell them with small profit. Because for example take a look at Cardano. They have nice ecosystem and projects. But it can't give enough ATH even in covid started year. So I sold all them with small 4-5% profit. I will never invest again these coins. Thats why I looked into 2023 started alts mostly.
The same thing happen to me before when Investing in ADA, I hold long but the result is too far from what I expect to happen. That is why I'd never put it back on my list and so these meme coins.
These days, we really have to play well and be cautious in choosing altcoins to invest in because not all of the top altcoins in the CMC are profitable. Choosing a hyped project gives more possible profit but the risk is too high. As I was thinking about the $600 investment capital, if I were you OP, I'll put half of it in ETH and BNB (as additional) while the other $300 is for new projects.
964  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Casimero vs Nghitumbwa (May 13) on: April 27, 2023, 04:33:49 AM
I wouldn't say it's a stepping stone for Casimero, this is just another fight that he needs to win, simply as that. This Nghitumbwa has nothing to offer in his career, Casimero has face more tougher opponents in the past. Nghitumbwa is not even a former champion, so most likely he was cherry pick by the camp of Casimero so that he will look like a great fighter again.

And with that, John Riel should win this easy, via a brutal knockout. And if that happens, then maybe his Japanese promoter can now chase a good boxer in this division, inching closer to maybe the champion in this division. So he should beat him bad, close him out early to send the message across.

Just a tune-up fight, I guess. It will only be a stepping stone if it's a big fight that would put him in position to be the number one contender, and then he'll get a chance to have a championship fight. Casimero is quite new to this division; IIRC, this is only his third fight. So, probably, more fights will come before he gets a shot to challenge the champion.
965  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Devin Haney vs Vasiliy Lomachenco - May 20 on: April 27, 2023, 02:52:18 AM
What do you think is better - Loma via KO or Loma via decision? Personally, even though the odds for a decision are higher, I still prefer the probability of him winning via knockout because it's more exciting to watch and people will be impressed with his performance.

I haven't put a bet yet for this fight as i planned to put some maybe 2 days before fight night.

To avoid the complications, that ML odds of 2.95 is the way to go though I will put some money on Loma by decision. That Loma by KO is very juicy though but with both fighters a technical one, I doubt that there would be a knockout.
Okay, so I guess we're on the same side here. I hope this isn't a one-sided fight in favor of Haney, as he really looks strong. But knowing Loma, he hasn't lost a fight yet where he was fully dominated. We're betting on an old Loma, but who cares - he'll prove he's not out of his prime.

His KO rate isn't that high, so it's a great strategy for Loma to attack early. However, I hope he'll be able to hit Haney with clean shots because if he doesn't, he'll just get tired and eventually, Haney will take advantage of that.

In that Lopez fight, Loma was so hesitant to attack or maybe Loma was just a slow starter but in my mind, I think he has so much respect on the power of Lopez that he thought that if he attack early and got caught with one power punch, he is done.

Knockout may happen if there is an opening but i doubt one will happen because Haney is not a KO artist and Loma is fighting a bigger opponent which is hard to KO. I just hope here that Loma will be aggressive early to accumulate some points and ultimately win the fight via decision.

Haney is probably bigger, but they'll be on the same weight on the day of the fight. So just like the Tank vs. Garcia fight where Garcia was the taller fighter and probably bigger, Tank Davis was still able to find a way to hurt Garcia and knock him out.
966  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022–23 PBA Commissioner's Cup on: April 27, 2023, 01:26:15 AM
Good thing that you still believe in our PBA kabayan hehe. Same here, I bet on the game thinking that it's not rigged or scripted as we sometimes jokingly say but based on the strength of the team and its adjustment made to win a ball game.

As a long-time PBA enthusiast here, I think for 20 years already, I'm not blind to those dramas, scripts, "bigayan", "Sagip Kapamilya" issues at some of the games. We can't really blame others who think that the league is scripted. Maybe yes, maybe no, but more importantly, I'm sure "most" games are still fair and square like what I pointed out before.

Actually, we can assume if the game is scripted or not if we watched the game live and we saw unusual things that are supposed not to happen.
This isn't just in the PBA but in most sports - people often think that games are rigged, but until now, no one has proven it. So it will just remain a speculation, and regardless, it won't affect the interest of the people in watching the game, especially for those real diehard fans.

Thanks for the correction, but this suspension might not have happened if the brawl did not occur. Additionally, since this game is public, is Big Beau foolish enough to play in that league despite knowing the possibility of getting suspended?

If I'm not mistaken that was an invitational game or some sort of that, and since Rain Or Shine is resting for a long now and PBA now finished its recent season, Belga thinks that it's fine not to coordinate on his team as this game he played is an event. Yes, if there's no brawl happening, Belga might get away from the possible suspension. Abueva before has the same case if I'm not mistaken, playing outside the PBA even under a live contract.

Belga should be more careful as he is not getting any younger, he is lucky to still have a contract with the ROS, but if he continues breaking the rules, we might not be able to see him again in the PBA.
967  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Devin Haney vs Vasiliy Lomachenco - May 20 on: April 26, 2023, 12:50:42 PM

But for all Loma supporters out there, this is already a good timing to support him while his odds are much crazier as who knows it might decline in the coming weeks because, after all, Loma is a live underdog.

Current odds for Loma is 3.17 and to win via decision is 4.20

Good odds indeed for Loma's fans like me hehe. He may be the underdog for the bookies but for me, this is a 50-50 fight because Loma has the upper hand here on experience. Loma's previous opponents' skill level are up a notch compared to the opponents of Haney.

The good thing I see here is that Haney is not a one-punch KO artist like Lopez where Loma was hesitant to brawl. On this one, I think he will attack early to try to hurt Haney as he could take the latter's punch without worrying of a knockout.

His KO rate isn't that high, so it's a great strategy for Loma to attack early. However, I hope he'll be able to hit Haney with clean shots because if he doesn't, he'll just get tired and eventually, Haney will take advantage of that.
968  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Surprise back!!!! on: April 26, 2023, 09:27:43 AM
His rocket just crashed, so meme lovers can expect him to be back to hype and making money with dogecoin soon. I bet so far, Elon Musk doesn't have an easy explanation for the behavior he did with Dogecoin before, maybe now market participants are paying attention to other issues so it doesn't matter. cares a lot about Dogecoin, but for me it will have a repetition with a new trick.
it is a loss for him of course but Elon that has billions of dollars? that is not totally a big loss for him but of course he will act again to bag money
and His milk and butter for that is cryptocurrency market.
as he is still popular and everything he posts seems to be having value.
but I will not fall from his traps again lol.
Elon Musk has a huge amount of supporters which is enough to manipulate the market trend and make Doge pump like before. Though some people had already opened their minds and avoided his trap, you couldn't still think that no one will fall into his words/actions because there are a lot of innocent investors who are stilling believing him. And what we have witnessed in the past few days is still showing his influence and he uses the twitter platform to play tricks and win.
969  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Tank Davis vs. Ryan Garcia betting and discussion (May, 2023) on: April 26, 2023, 03:24:05 AM
I think Ryan has overcome his mental issues already, since that one went into public, he has made a comeback already and now it's just the best boxer won in this fight.
I hope Ryan Garcia can bounce back from his loss to Tank Davis. It was a huge loss for him as he thought he was the better fighter and could knock out Tank Davis, but the opposite happened. It's crucial for Garcia to win his next fight because a boxer who was previously undefeated and suffers their first defeat may not have the same level of confidence they had before.

It would all depend on how good his next opponent would be and how prepared mentally and physically he would be at that time. Although Ryan is probably successful in his mental struggles as he has already managed to come back, train hard and focused on the gym, it is possible that this first loss could trigger a little depression. But it's always great that his family is always around him and is very supportive.

He needs to take a good deal of recovery time, builds himself stronger especially mentally, before getting his next fight at 140.

That's it. He needs to ensure that he is ready when he comes back so that he can start winning again. As of now, the debate is over. Tank Davis has proven to be the better fighter, and Ryan Garcia cannot trash talk him anymore, as we have already seen how strong Tank Davis is. Garcia is definitely not on Tank's level yet.
970  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2020-2021 betting on: April 25, 2023, 01:11:58 PM
I am betting for the Denver Nuggets, 1 most win and they are advancing to the finals,

It opened at -8.5, but now it has moved to -9.5.

I think this will be a blowout win by the Nuggets. They can't miss the opportunity to close the series, and obviously, they were the better team here. The Nuggets have covered the spread in Game 1 and Game 2, which means they played better at home. It will be hard for the Timberwolves to come back since the pressure on them is very high. Even if the line moves to -10, I still find it attractive.

RoS suspends Beau Belga without pay for involvement in Cebu game, brawl

Quote
RAIN or Shine has suspended Beau Belga for six working days without pay for his involvement in a basketball game in Cebu, a video of which went viral recently.

Big Beau has been suspended. This guy really cannot control his temper on the court. He's already in the PBA, so maybe his pride was hurt by whatever happened in Cebu. I'm not surprised, actually, as Big Beau sometimes has altercations with his opponents in the PBA, but this one is just too much.

In my opinion, it's not interesting. He's not even a celebrity in the PBA, and we know he's not a calm player, so that's not unexpected. Actually, there's more interesting news than that, and that's the mention of "game-fixing".

https://pba.ph/news/sangalang-to-take-legal-action-against-game-fixing-accuser

Quote
IAN Sangalang will be taking appropriate actions against the Singaporean businessman who implicated him in an alleged game-fixing incident during the 2018 PBA Philippine Cup finals.

The Magnolia big man denied ever knowing Koa Wei Quan, the former owner of transportation firm Koa Motor, who is facing 14 graft charges in the State Courts in Singapore for influencing games played in the PBA and the Thailand Basketball League between the months of April and July of that same year.

Sangalang said he doesn't know nor was he even introduced to the 32-year-old businessman.

In a report that came out of the Singapore-based The Straits Times, Koa allegedly offered Sangalang a bribe of $5,000 to influence the outcome of Game 5 of the all-Filipino title series between Magnolia and San Miguel.

The Beermen won the game in double overtime, 108-99, to clinch the championship.

It was a game in 2018, but the issue of game-fixing has always been present in our discussions here. Do you guys think that Sanggalang has something to do with it?
972  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Technical indicators vs the News on: April 24, 2023, 01:51:57 PM
Analysing the trend of the crypto market can be very complicated, base on the fact that their are two major deciding factor in price analysis when trading, which are the technical indicators an news about a project.
I have not been in the crypto space for not too long but I have come to the conclusion that the news is more influential in the trend of the market than the technical indicators, guys what do you think?
And I am going to agree with that because people are too emotional when hearing the news and they interact with the market base on what they have read or heard in news. When compared to technical indicators, people are too skeptical of this and they are not even worried about what it showed there. Pretty too different in how they respond to the news. That is why traders are not just active in the market movements but also are following the current news especially when some influential person talks about the future of crypto.
973  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Next bull market comes in June on: April 24, 2023, 12:45:31 PM

Here is my bold assumption. As the recent cryptocurrency prices continue to drop dramatically, the whole market needs a big time and force to embrace a new bullish period. As the US strengthens more regulations, more money is looking for a new place to flow into. Recently, Hong Kong held the Web3 festival to show their determination to build a crypto hub in Asia. The new rules and favorable policies on crypto will be implemented in this June. I firmly believe that as long as the new window opens, endless hot money from China mainland and all over the world will be flooding into the crypto market in Hong Kong. All cryptocurrencies will see a bull run for a while.
Well, I respect those assumptions but have also to remember that all of the assumptions are bound to be wrong. We can't predict the market, right? but sadly you missed it OP.
Anyways, it was a motivational assumption I ever heard this time as usually, people had thought that the next bull market will commence next year during halving. Of course, I won't say you're right but I gonna support you as well because we never know exactly what will happen a few days from now.
That is why before the bull market comes, we are also able to fill our bags with potential coins, not shitcoins.
974  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you take Part in Gambling Lotteries ? on: April 24, 2023, 12:01:43 PM
Honestly, I was tempted to get involved in this because of a huge jackpot prize but unfortunately, not a single win I made for the countless tickets I bought.
Winning this is very slim as we just rely on luck, however, it also gave intense to us in every draw and we're also excited to see the results and hoping for luck. But I say that if we can't really control ourselves and still think about the jackpot prize, I really afraid that it leads us to addiction.
975  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: ETH gas fees are a joke. on: April 24, 2023, 11:01:15 AM
...I recommend you use L2 blockchain like arbitrum or optimism if you wanna using ethereum. It cost even less than btc transaction.

But in order to use the Arbitrum or Optimism blockchain, you will first have to transfer your funds from the Ethereum blockchain using the bridge. And in this case, you will still need to pay for gas in the ERC-20 network first.
That is a problem as we can't directly convert our ERC-20 tokens to another platform without moving them from our wallet to another. And this gives no option but yeah, we must have to pay for the gas fee for that sake. It is too hard to raise the problem when we know that there is no solution (maybe for now). It was too difficult to imagine paying $100 worth of tokens and paying $10 to transfer, somewhat not fair but we must if we wanted to do it.
976  Economy / Speculation / Re: What is your take on the pump coming? on: April 23, 2023, 12:26:01 PM

I think it's just the movement of bitcoin, the market is always moving, and we can't expect bitcoin to always go up without falling. Bitcoin is a financial market that is always bought and sold 24/7, so it's all just market movement, and that's completely normal. Although the market is still affected by macroeconomic news, the market has its own way of operating and cannot be completely dependent on the news. We should not always make unnecessary assumptions when the market is volatile.
It dumps today and it pump by tomorrow -
Perhaps, this is what we saw before, and nothing has changed aside from the continuous increase of investors and users.
And we can expect a more volatile market as the adoption keeps growing. More buying and selling demand, the more to see ups and down movement in the market.

This is really how the crypto market works and must understand the situation that anytime the price trend will change its course.
In fact, it is unpredictable and this gives interest the people.
977  Economy / Gambling / Re: How succesful will AI projects be to win the house? on: April 23, 2023, 11:43:38 AM
AI is a good initiative in gaming after all if a gambler is playing against the house which is a computer, then the computer should be made to play against bots since those computers are configured to function primarily for that purpose, but the big question is, will casino allow the use of AI on their platforms the answer is no and to a large point we must know that any players who employ the services of artificial intelligence on games may get some form of restrictions or possible account ban.
^They know this because casinos generate significant revenue from their games, and if players are able to consistently win, it could lead to a decrease in profits for the casino which is I think, that is the reason they will have a patch. That patch is to counterpart those players who have been consistently winning and even with the most sophisticated AI algorithms, there are no guarantees of success. Casinos also have the ability to adjust their strategies and defenses as necessary, making it challenging for any one strategy to consistently win in the long term.
Do you think they are not wise than us? Remember those casinos are here to make money and we are just using them to have fun.
If the casino knows that several players can get wins consistently, the casino will suspect whether the player wins by cheating or using bots or is it just luck. But considering that the current AI algorithm cannot work optimally, for example, the casino will suspect that the account has won because of player fraud.

But if AI has become more sophisticated than it is today and managed to beat the casino for some time, the casino will not allow it to win again. The casino will do something to prevent players from being able to win using AI. And it's natural for casinos to do that so their gambling business can keep running and the casinos can still make a profit.
Actually, casinos from now on are already preparing to counteract AI behavior that can be used in gambling, such as for example someone wins in a row and the system detects that there is abnormal behavior in the gambler's account and the system will tell the security team to freeze customer accounts and verify all bets.
There is no chance that can beat the casino even though AI really can be relied on.
They already anticipated this kind of scenario in gambling as they wanted to remain unbeaten than make their casino lose. In the case that AI is better than them they will create another to stop it. Therefore, I was expecting such a developing trend to see someday. If might not happen, I will think that casinos will ban the use of AI to play on their platform. But until now, we never hear in public that someone who uses AI in gambling outplays casinos. Well, we don't want to hear also that the use if this stuff is a form of cheating...not for now, otherwise.
978  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Help me in choosing wallet before I make mistake on: April 23, 2023, 08:19:58 AM
Thank you everyone for contributing and guiding me on this choice, it was a tough choice since yesterday through to today. I stressed my brain before I finally made my choice. I read through your advice and preferences and go through links provided by many and  I did my research online to get more clarity.

In the end, the winner is Electrum wallet. I trust not to regret this but will not buy in large scale at first.
Perhaps, a lot of investors/holders are using this platform and the current number is quite growing fast, and they never encounter problems with their wallets. Because as a beginner, it was not necessary to buy a hardware wallet, especially if you are just about to spend small amounts, it is not worth it anyway.

We may hear about hacking, electrum wallet has no escaped from this but it was not because it was weak or something the security is not on the highest level. It happens because the owners of said wallet are so careless, yes it really depends on us no matter what kind of wallet it is.
979  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: A Thought On Gambling Strategies on: April 23, 2023, 07:51:40 AM
There are many different sports betting strategies. There are a number of similarities and differences, but the biggest similarity is that no system offers a guarantee of success. Waterproof systems do not exist. Martingale system is best known for Roulette, but you can also try this system at sports competitions. You could look at point betting in tennis, or perhaps the number of points scored in basketball. Then you just need a lot of patience, but here too you could theoretically lose each other 10x. MartinGale is therefore not good management.
The Martingale strategy cannot be used to make consistent profits in gambling, let alone other strategy techniques, there is no guarantee that you can get big wins, it all goes back to how we control ourselves in gambling. Sometimes there is no point in using strategy in gambling, even though the martingale strategy is a strategy basic for beginners.

Strategies ain't effective in gambling nor it works because whether we like it or not, the only thing we ask for is luck in order to win otherwise, we lose. If we win today, it is possible we lose tomorrow or if we lose today, we only have very slim chances to win tomorrow. Meaning, we can't be reliant on any strategies that have been taught online or any of the gamblers other than being dependent on ourselves and luck. Other than that, I don't think it could help.
980  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Have you ever be afraid of holding? on: April 22, 2023, 09:49:40 PM
The only time I was scared of holding was when I started cryptocurrency newly, I was scared maybe bitcoin will dump hard and it won't be able to recover back, gradually when I was learning more about bitcoin, I was getting confidence till when I fully understand what bitcoin is all about, then I realized that bitcoin will not die, the only thing that can happen is that the price will dump and if I can hold, then the price will definitely bounce back with time. So now if bitcoin is dumping, am always using the opportunity to accumulate more.
Same to you then, mate as we are an apprentice in this crypto journey before.
It is a process, we feel doubts and worries because of no experience and totally lack of market understanding. And aside from that, we really don't have any idea where it goes because it was new and we all are just testing it. But it was enough, our experience taught us how to be strong, it taught us how to manage our emotions, and most of all, it gives us faith in believing that Bitcoin has a bright future.
