481  Economy / Economics / Re: Can I take a loan to invest in bitcoin? on: March 09, 2023, 11:56:56 PM
~
I would not really advise people to just go out and take a loan to invest to Bitcoin. It is just way too unstable and volatile to risk any loan amount to crypto. My thumb rule is just use loans for anything that guarantees or at least "likely" to give you profit so that you could at least pay your loans at the end of the repayment date.

I recall already a lot of people that just went insane trying to pay their debts off and just can't get out of it.
482  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: which cryptocurrency do you prefer the most to accept payments in? on: March 08, 2023, 02:40:47 PM
~
If I would adopt crypto as a primary payment method, I might consider stablecoins just to keep it in the safe side, probably DAI but not USDT. However if I would adopt it as an alternative payment method, I would go straight into Bitcoin since I can just convert it anytime to my local currency in order to realize its value. Market might be volatile, but hey since it is an alternative payment method anyway, it would not matter for me if I convert it in the end. It's not like I intend to hold it anyway since I have separate wallet that is entirely for holding purposes only.
483  Economy / Economics / Re: How to increase capital investment on: March 08, 2023, 02:36:13 PM
You can't buy money we can earn money and that is what you're talking about.

There are lots of ways to increase your capital and what you said is one among others and its even easier to let the investment itself to grow up so with the compounding itself over longer period the returns will be a lot higher.

But for someone who start from zero may not income sources like rental income and others so they need to sell their ideas which can make them more money.
It could mean not literally buying money since that is not entirely possible, but instead just buying something of a value that you could sold that is equivalent to money of course. Unless you offer a certain services to earn money, then you might end up buying or investing to some sort of business just to "earn money".

It's just the same thing on how I started my freelancing business and my own clothing business. Buying money to earn more money.
484  Economy / Economics / Re: The Biggest Financial Regrets on: March 08, 2023, 01:49:51 PM
~
Biggest risks that I've made in finance? Invested almost half of my savings back then to build my clothing shop business and it all went.......GREAT! Sure it is not the common risk of investing to something else like stocks (I am not a stock trader), buying -insert any luxury items here- ( I am just want to live a simple life and social status ain't going to give me shit in the end), and investing into a random altcoins in the market for obvious reason, but it's just that it was worth mentioning for me that some people here in my area are afraid of risking their money into businesses that does not seem to be like "for gaining social status".  Considering that clothing is like a basic needs for people already, I don't see any reason not to invest to that kind of business. Smiley

For my financial regrets, for the sake of the post title, was that I risked money to day trade which was not the strategy for me at all. It's not my cup of tea and I should have known that trading is not meant for everybody. Everybody can trade, but not everybody wants to trade.
485  Economy / Economics / Re: The cost of living is trying to kill the living on: March 08, 2023, 01:32:55 PM

It sucks I know. This is why people with just an average salaries that remains the same for the upcoming years like you said tend to do job hopping a lot and they aim for working in international since the rate usually is higher than in their own.

Not sure if it is a universal norm/culture for people to job hop, but it happens a lot here in my country especially that I reside in a third world country. Just gotta do what you gotta do to survive against inflation, OP.
486  Economy / Economics / Re: Monthly or weekly pay? Fixed or percentage earning? what is your prefrence. on: March 07, 2023, 09:26:37 PM
~
It's usually cost less to just run the payroll monthly and that is why many companies preferred that instead. If you're budgeting your money just really well, you're going to be more than okay in just monthly payment unless of course it is underpay which is a matter of another discussion.

Bills and other payments that needs to be paid comes into my mind at first when I tend to earn my paycheck since I know that it will bite me in the ass at the end.
487  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Thoughts on Doge coin. on: March 07, 2023, 02:18:50 PM
So why do you think people still want to risk their money buying meme coins instead of buying bitcoin or some good altcoin? I think that even if doge will start pumping, it won't go x10 because its market cap is too high.
Do you still buy doge or other meme coins?
Only people that really hold meme coins would be able to answer that although I had plans back then to buy Doge coin because it was kind of something interesting to buy as I am aware of the "doge" meme in the internet, but jeez that was already a meme for almost a decade and surely it is not a thing anymore. Good thing I did not buy one though.

You could be right that it won't go 10x, let alone Shiba being $1 as well. It is just not something of a realistic ATH as of the moment to be eyeing at.
488  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: The love I have for bitcoin on: March 07, 2023, 02:14:13 PM

I mean bearish or not, it is Bitcoin in the end. Unlike those shitcoins that would just die out immediately overnight or just does not survive a bearish market due to plenty of dumps, I always believed in Bitcoin. Regardless of the price, I don't care if Bitcoin even went below 10k. When I say I am hodling, I am hodling.

Bitcoin also has been rising from the dead over and over again if you had read the Bitcoin Obituaries. I believe it is more than half a thousand already.
489  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Misinformation about crypto (bitcoin). on: March 05, 2023, 03:56:02 PM
~
Everyone came from there. I've been in that kind of thought although it was different that I thought it was a dangerous coin to hold because criminals from the dark web use it. While that is true, it is not an illegal coin or currency by itself.

I refused also to even give it a try when someone from my high school old schoolmates introduced it to me, since why would I try something that I thought it was illegal, right? My own research proved me wrong though and corrected me. I might have a little regret that I missed buying the earlier prices of Bitcoin, but I am in much a better place now.
490  Economy / Economics / Re: Can one achieve financial independence through crypto currency? on: March 05, 2023, 03:50:54 PM
Each of us does really have that bad experience and memories about trading and this is why i cant blame on someone who do have this kind of words or approach in relation to it because its not really that something

that anyone could handle and ending up on a disaster on losing up their funds or capital. So some people do end up on deciding on holding their coins instead because they cant just bare up with the risks involved.
Well I am kinda one of those people, not because I cannot bare up the risk involved in other means like day trading but because it is just not the best strategy that works out for me. Earning through trading is not meant for everyone. It might be doable, but some would be better off in just investing and holding it instead to topper coins instead.

~
Yeah that's the really great way to leverage your earnings into something that you could truly be financially independent. There is just no stability in crypto if that is just your sole source of income. It is a good sideline, but it is not something that should replace your main work just because it yields greater profits.
It is just the same experience for me in not quitting my full-time job even though I have high paying contractual works at Upwork as a freelancer.
491  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How many crypto wallets do you own? on: March 04, 2023, 08:10:13 PM
~
Well I am still not yet fully invested to cold wallets these days, but I am still considering it. "Numerous" online wallets might be just pushing it too much and one would be just be enough considering that they are unsafe. I only use one online wallet that is localized in here so that I would be able to avail their services since there isn't really direct way from my cold wallet to whatever service I am trying to avail.

When I hold in my online wallet, it is usually just smaller amounts just like how would I do it in exchanges though I stopped day trading long time ago already.
492  Economy / Economics / Re: How to spend money determines whether you can avoid unnecessary problems on: March 04, 2023, 08:03:56 PM

There is regret, but there is at least a lesson that you could takeaway from that. I can still recall back in the days when I was just upgrading my PC for plainly "aesthetic purposes" while it is still being able to do its job. I believe I had mentioned loans not being used for wants and yeah I did not use loans at all just for my PC since they are kinda painful to be paid back.

You still need your "wants" in order to have a satisfying life and for your mental health as well.
493  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is Shiba Inu still worth it? on: March 03, 2023, 07:59:12 PM
I have 20 million but haven't bought any for over 6 months as I only bought at the time as I was fairly new to crypto and it was low compared to its all time high but I now understand market cap etc.

With its current market cap at $6.3b, how high can this realistically go? Is $100b possible? That would give it a 16x from current price if so which would be good.

With the release of Shibarium due this year I do think this will see the price rise but how much im not so sure?
20 million like in USD? That's a lot of money assuming you are being for real. Why aim for meme coins like Shiba though? People have been speculating it going for $1, but it has been struggling to even get past in less than <2 decimal places so I would not just count on it anyway. $100b market cap is just unrealistic though considering of just the limited circulating supply of hundred trillion and not really much of significant price increase.

Just go for Bitcoin, OP if I were you.
494  Economy / Economics / Re: Can one achieve financial independence through crypto currency? on: March 03, 2023, 07:52:44 PM
That's right, there are different ways to achieve financial independence, and it's good if we move in several directions to achieve our goals. Can this be achieved with cryptocurrencies alone? I think yes, there are many examples of this, it all depends on many factors, but most of the stories that brought great profits were about the hold, so we draw conclusions and buy bitcoin for the long term. Smiley
Uh alone? Nah. I'll pass on that optimism. There might be humungous amount of profits that you can earn in crypto alone, but having an unstable or uncertain profit is not going to make me financially independent or even free. There is just no financial and mental cushion to keep me set that I would still be able to pay my bills in the next upcoming months.

People might suggest that I should do trading, but hell I would not redo that nightmare that happened to me back then.
495  Economy / Economics / Re: My survival strategies in this harsh economic conditions on: March 03, 2023, 06:52:02 PM
~
Reflecting back in my college days and yeah, homeschooling is even waaaay better. Though for me, it was like a self-taught way of learning since nobody was able to teach me anyway. I learned more than what I need in my own field of software development. Resources are free in the internet anyway and I would be able to learn how other countries especially the US do software development in their region. I just wish I was able to spend more time learning at home though there's no point of regretting it anymore.

I can relate in low-key celebrations. It does not have to be so fancy. It might carve a great memory, but that memory would even build you a bad habit of overspending in the special seasons just to make it that you indeed celebrated better that occasion.
496  Economy / Economics / Re: How to spend money determines whether you can avoid unnecessary problems on: March 03, 2023, 06:38:18 PM
~
Yeah there could be some people still spending like hell like OP describes. It's their money in the end and it's their responsibility if they would choose to just lose it all before the time of need and urgency for money comes.
For the sake of my mental health and peace of mind like I mentioned previously here in the thread, I would just keep something at least. I might not be able to keep it all when the time of uncertainty happens, but hell at least I would somehow perish in "peace".

I would not even considering doing a loan just for the sake of spending on my wants.
497  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Emotion and Trade? on: March 02, 2023, 04:44:13 PM
~
What else is required? If you can handle your emotion, you should be able to pad your emotions with your own reasoning and that would surely help you in the long run in trading. Reasons over emotion, right?
It is not just all handling emotion in trading.

I would say those kind of person are simply a little bit of inexperienced. It takes quite a while to get used to trading and it might not even be for you like me. My advice for that kind of person is test the waters if trading is really for you first. It is entirely okay if you just go hodl either way like me.
498  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What's your reason for accepting bitcoin as a payment? on: March 02, 2023, 04:40:24 PM
~
It is beneficial either way or just the usual win-win situation. It is more like organizations are taking their initiative in accepting crypto as "alternative payment" method. There's like no downside into accepting cryptos like Bitcoin as an alternative payment method anyway.

If you have the means to accept payments from crypto, just do it. It is just easy to setup. In my clothing shop, I am planning to accept crypto still but I just do not have the time to spare to setup due to my full-time work.
499  Economy / Economics / Re: Benefit from Higher Education? on: March 02, 2023, 04:00:34 PM
~
Higher education is just usually something that could give you promotion anyway, but for entrepreneurship, it is almost not really that beneficial and in fact that many entrepreneurs are completely pursuing their own success in separate of their education. The education to some countries these days are just sticking to theories and it kinda hurts that there's little to less application that could be done.

You could be a successful entrepreneur without having a degree. In my field, there are even a lot of self taught devs that are still finding success.
500  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Do you still hunt for airdrops? on: March 02, 2023, 03:16:34 PM
~
Yeah, I see where you're coming from. Surely those people that fell for it would learn it anyway but if they did not that's where it is safe to call them the "s" word. I've been a victim of such scams before, and even got my private key almost stolen from airdrop emailed to me, but I learned it the hard way though it was complete stop for me on pursuing these types of airdrops anymore.

Some other users mentioned in here a better way of hunting airdrops, but I'll pass on that.
