281  Economy / Economics / Re: What percentage of people on Earth will own Bitcoin by 2020 on: November 21, 2016, 01:41:04 PM
A couple of people voted 90-100%. I mean, seriously?

And making back ups regularly goes without saying for most people I guess.  Smiley

I always keep a backup on external hard drive. I also have a paper wallet, kept in a safe as cold storage. I never keep big amounts in a hot wallet, but that's obvious.

Talking about restoring old wallets, yes - you must never delete old wallet files. Better keep them on a USB drive as backup.

For better "watching" of these addresses, you can create bookmarks for all old addresses on Blockchain.info and keep checking balances every month or so, just to see if someone has sent something to any old addresses.
283  Economy / Economics / Re: millionaires of the world, be reminded... on: November 21, 2016, 12:27:02 PM
dear milionaires,

the signs of economic crisis are on the wall. if you guys decide that it could be appropriate to own at least ONE btc, be reminded that this will be very difficult to achieve.

there are 16 million of you on our planet. but there will only be 21 million btc ever. 16 million btc are already mined. no one knows how many are lost, no one knows how many are held by hardcore hodlers (who will never sell), no one knows if the first million btc (satoshis stash?) will ever move.

edit: typo

If economic crisis are going to make BTC go to da moon, I hope this happens sooner than later  Cheesy

But I also think that it won't be millionaires that will drive the price in that scenario. They already have all the money in the world and probably don't care about something called Bitcoin. The people that will drive the price are the ones whose investments are badly hit during recession and they're looking for an alternative medium to secure their money before it becomes a survival issue for them.

Is it the official bct Neos thread?
I don't understand the thread title ... is the swap still in progress?
Is the "official" channel of communications still IRC?
Any Slack?

Thanks.

Yes, this is official NEOS thread. The swap is complete few weeks ago. Dev is working on additional new features.

Wife Swapping

The two guys, Jack and Bill, have decided to try to persuade their wives to have a bit of partner swapping for the night.

The guys have agreed that if they can pull off the wife swap, when they sit around the breakfast table the following morning, they will tap their teaspoon on the side of their coffee mug the number of times that they did it with each other's wives. Clever enough!

After several drinks that night they succeed! Jack knows it's that time of the month for his wife and the thought of Bill not knowing this makes him smile.

The next morning they are all at the breakfast table, slightly hangover and quite uncomfortable, when Jack proudly taps his teaspoon 3 times against his coffee mug.

After a brief moment of thinking, Bill takes his teaspoon and taps it once on the strawberry jam and 3 times on the peanut butter.

Two hunters are out in the woods when one of them collapses.
He doesn't seem to be breathing and his eyes are glazed.
The other guy whips out his phone and calls the emergency services.
He gasps, "My friend is dead! What can I do?"
The operator says "Calm down. I can help. First, make sure your friend is actually dead."
There is a silence, then a gun shot is heard.
Back on the phone, the guy says "OK, now what?"
288  Economy / Services / Re: got 0.0017btc what business can multiply it for me everday on: November 09, 2016, 10:52:37 AM
Hello I know it's small can someone please make a suggestion on what to do that can grow my funds thanks

I'm new here

It doesn't work that way. Otherwise anyone can just buy small amount of BTC and keep multiplying it until they become rich.

BTC is no different than other form of money when it comes to 'investing' (not 'multiplying'). Invest in something you trust, do not invest more than you can afford to lose.
289  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Up Like Trump on: November 09, 2016, 07:04:27 AM
Results would have been different if Bernie Sanders was the candidate for Democratic. Sadly they didn't realize people would hate Hillary so much. For so many people, they're not voting FOR Trump. They're voting AGAINST Hillary.
290  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: zcash soon 0.2 btc! on: November 07, 2016, 06:48:50 AM
i talk today with some guys..as its look zcash is under botnet attack..so price will soon hit 100$ or even les and real miners will gone and go back to eth..Wink if its all true, but its look its it,then soon zcash will hit 20$!

CPU-mined currencies have been mined largely by botnets especially for a high-priced coins. We have seen this already with Monero. ZCash will also suffer from same unless GPU-mining surpasses CPU-mining.
291  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: did you put all your money into bitcoin? on: November 04, 2016, 10:56:04 AM
Out of 190 votes, 9 people say they've put 100% of their money into Bitcoin.
This figure looks highly unlikely, I'd rather believe people haven't been genuinely honest in responding.
292  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: bitcoin related job on: November 04, 2016, 05:01:00 AM
hello. I'm looking for a job which the payment is bitcoin. I joined signature campaign, but I was banned. then I looked for the other signature campaign, but I found no spot available for new participants.

actually I can translate English to Indonesian, but I'm not so good. I can edit videos, but I can't upload it because my connection is not so fast.

thank you.

Why would you want to confine yourself to the jobs that pay in Bitcoins only?
Just accept any freelancing job that matches your skills, get paid in any currency and then convert it to Bitcoins.

That way you'll probably be able to earn more, and to keep growing your Bitcoin stash.

A bear walks into a bar and says to the bartender, "I'll have a pint of beer and a.......... packet of peanuts."
The bartender asks, "Why the big pause?"

Took me some time to get it.  "Pause" ,  "Paws"

One day a twelve-year-old walks into a house of ill-repute dragging a dead frog on a string behind him, he slaps a hundred-dollar bill on the counter and says, "I want one of your women." The madam looks at him and says "Don't you think you're a bit young for that?" He slaps another hundred on the counter and says, "I want one of your women."

The madam says "okay, have a seat, she'll be down in about thirty minutes." He slaps another hundred on the counter and says, "she has to have active herpes." The madam starts to sputter and ask why, but he slaps another hundred on the counter and says "active herpes." She responds, "okay, have a seat- it'll be about five minutes."

Two minutes later, a woman comes out, they go upstairs (dragging this dead frog) and do their deal... As he's leaving, the madam asks him "okay, why did you want someone with active herpes?" The twelve-year-old replies... When I get home, I'm going to sleep with the baby-sitter, and when mom and dad get home, dad will take the baby-sitter to her home and sleep with her on the way. Then, when he gets back, he and mom are going to go upstairs and do it. And tomorrow morning after dad goes to work, the milkman will come in and mom will sleep with him, and he's the bastard that ran over my frog.
295  Economy / Goods / Re: Sell apple iphone 7 for 1 Bit coin Brand New sealed box 1 year warranty.. on: November 02, 2016, 08:08:35 AM
No one in their right mind would send a newbie 1 btc upfront, I suggest you do escrow.

Yes i am come here in this forum for sell my stuff and iphones with bit coins.. when i have received 1 btc iphone 7 price what i problem in sent iphone... so be positive and buy it.. i am honest person seller..

Do you understand the concept of escrow? If yes, find any trusted member on the forum to act as escrow for your transaction.

An escrow would:
- Take 1BTC from the buyer and will confirm this to you
- You'll ship the iPhone to buyer and provide tracking details
- Buyer receives the iPhone and confirms the same back to escrow
- Escrow will release 1BTC to you

Many trusted escrow take a fee for this service, but some of them will do it for free too.

Sorry for bumping a 4-year old thread, but no one is posting any more jokes? WTF?

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Three men were standing in line to get into heaven one day. Apparently it had been a pretty busy day, though, so Peter had to tell the first one, "Heaven's getting pretty close to full today, and I've been asked to admit only people who have had particularly horrible deaths. So what's your story?"

So the first man replies: "Well, for a while I've suspected my wife has been cheating on me, so today I came home early to try to catch her red-handed. As I came into my 25th floor apartment, I could tell something was wrong, but all my searching around didn't reveal where this other guy could have been hiding. Finally, I went out to the balcony, and sure enough, there was this man hanging off the railing, 25 floors above ground! By now I was really mad, so I started beating on him and kicking him, but wouldn't you know it, he wouldn't fall off. So finally I went back into my apartment and got a hammer and starting hammering on his fingers. Of course, he couldn't stand that for long, so he let go and fell - but even after 25 stories, he fell into the bushes, stunned but okay. I couldn't stand it anymore, so I ran into the kitchen, grabbed the fridge and threw it over the edge where it landed on him, killing him instantly. But all the stress and anger got to me, and I had a heart attack and died there on the balcony."

"That sounds like a pretty bad day to me," said Peter, and let the man in.

The second man comes up and Peter explains to him about heaven being full, and again asks for his story.

"It's been a very strange day. You see, I live on the 26th floor of my apartment building, and every morning I do my exercises out on my balcony. Well, this morning I must have slipped or something, because I fell over the edge. But I got lucky, and caught the railing of the balcony on the floor below me. I knew I couldn't hang on for very long, when suddenly this man burst out onto the balcony. I thought for sure I was saved, when he started beating on me and kicking me, I held on the best I could until he ran into the apartment and grabbed a hammer and started pounding on my hands. Finally I just let go, but again I got lucky and fell into the bushes below, stunned but all right. Just when I was thinking I was going to be okay, this refrigerator comes falling out of the sky and crushes me instantly, and now I'm here."

Once again, Peter had to concede that that sounded like a pretty horrible death.

The third man came to the front of the line, and again the whole process was repeated. Peter explained that heaven was full and asked for his story.

"Picture this," says the third man, "I'm hiding naked inside a refrigerator..."

I have been part of NEOS community from almost beginning. I know syntaks from the time of Bellacoin.

Although I'm not much active on forums or IRC, one thing I've learned is that syntaks is always working regardless of whether he shows up on forums to post anything. He believes in getting the stuff done/improving and then show everyone rather than just showing up everyday and posting BS.

Be patient people, this is not just any alt-coin. This is NEOS.

P.S.: I'm not a bag holder.

Don't buy. If anything, just mine on CPU in early days, sell when it gets pumped and get out making decent profit.
