61  Local / India / Re: DUMP KOINEX IMMEDIATELY BEFORE ITS TOO LATE on: March 05, 2018, 02:13:50 PM
They decided to charge 2.36% for all INR withdrawals. This is totally not acceptable a NEFT transaction is just 5-10 rs on most banks.

They are either having liquidity issues or are trying to run away or are trying to rip people off since they already have a very high volume.
Take a hint. It is too late for everyone from India. Most of the crypto vendors in India are simply ripping off customers in a broad day light. Note that some exchanges/vendors are good and legit for now. Most of the vendors providing services in crypto field are facing heat from the policies as well.

Hmm...  that is some outrageous fee if true. Can prasanthsd confirm if this is still the case? I opened an account there but haven't traded yet.

Does Koinex charge any fees on INR withdrawals? Nothing is mentioned on their "fees" page.

trying to get some damn ZCL, but my bitcoin transaction from one exchange to another seems to be stuck sitting on unconfirmed 0/6 confirmations for the last 2 damn hours.
how long does it take to transfer bitcoin??

Depends on the transaction and fees generally. Can you post the transaction ID?

Is the standard electrum wallet ok to keep ZCL in

Yes. That's the easiest to use also.
66  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: bitgrail - treating their users like shit on: February 23, 2018, 06:22:39 AM
I heard about them revealing about the hack and stolen XRB from their hot wallet.
Just sad.

But whats makes them not just dump this exchange and just start a new one to do this all over again with a new coin?

Most likely they wouldn't, after getting burned with 'Bigrail' lol.
Also the local law may prevent the exchange owner from starting any new business since the case has been reported to authorities and the exchange has filed for bankruptcy.
67  Local / India / Re: Questions About Indian Crypto Exchanges: Indx & BitBns on: February 20, 2018, 12:16:02 PM
...we saw a sample in which Income Tax department was asking for all the details regarding when you bought bitcoin, from which exchange and much more. Maybe, it was fake but ....

I also saw the letter where gov had asked these details, but I don't know if it was fake or real. Do you have any further info suggesting it was fake (or real)? I'd just like to know more if possible.
68  Local / India / Re: Questions About Indian Crypto Exchanges: Indx & BitBns on: February 20, 2018, 12:13:59 PM
Bitbns is a really good exchange to trade some cryptocurrencies like Ripple. Just transfer them later into a better wallet.
Trade in Bitbns and transfer your coins to Coindelta. This is what I generally do. Works super fine.
I don't know about Indx, but Bitbns is a pretty cool exchange. Got my KYC verification done within a day. The exchange rates are almost equal as all other major exchanges. Not so sure about its wallet though. I bought some Ripples from Bitbns and transferred them to my Koinex account.

I get what you're doing but don't you think it will look a bit convincing it you'll slightly change the names of your newly-made account for promoting or in simple word spamming.

You're right. Not only all three accounts were registered at almost same time, they also posted in almost same topics (checked their post history).

And they're shilling the same exchange on this thread. I advice to ignore their advice and stick to our own judgment.

My installation of Electrum ZCL 1.0.3. failed both on my desktop and laptop. Anybody?

When will we know what exchanges will be supported for the fork? If I can't install Electrum ZCL and don't know which exchange will qualify for the ZCL to BTCP conversion then I guess there is no point to buy ZCL?

The Electrum wallet isn't an installer, it is a stand-alone exe file. You just double-click it and it should run. Are you sure you're running it that way? What's the error you're getting?

On my desktop it's "The application was unable to start correctly (0xc0000005). Click OK to close the application", but that is a problem I have with other apps too (I suspect it came with MS Office crack installation and KMS that came with it).

On my laptop it is this:

"The procedure entry point ucrtbase.terminate could not be located in the dynamic link library api-ms-win-crt-runtime-l1-1-0.dll."

And when I close it it's:

"Fatal Error!" saying "Error loading Python DLL 'C:\Users\USERNA~1\AppData\Local\Temp\MEI27362\python36.dll'. LoadLibrary: The specified procedure could not be found."

Hmmm...  it is strange that you're having issues on two different machines. However it is surely a local problem because everyone else is able to use the wallet without any issue.

I'm not sure what's the solution but did you try clearing the temp files? (Deleting everything in C:\Users\USERNA~1\AppData\Local\Temp  folder?)

Indx looks interesting but there is not much information about it over the internet. They are offering 1500 free tokens for registering but they ask for the mobile number in the registration form hence I am hesitant to go through and test it. Did you have any luck with it?

I haven't registered with them yet (as I am still skeptical about their legitimacy; see my post above where their site is linking to another exchange's fee structure).
I am not interested in their token airdrop, so I'll just wait until I have more information about them. The launch is next month I guess.
71  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: bitgrail - treating their users like shit on: February 19, 2018, 06:35:00 PM
Hah thats funny, I for some stupid reason thought Bitgrail would be responsible for the money I put there.
There goes 90% of my crypto money. =/
and yep the million useless typical responses of you should of.  Thanks in advance, no need to post em.

NEVER keep your "investment" coins on an exchange. Only keep what you trade. I also used Bitgrail for buying XRB because it was the only properly-functioning exchange supporting XRB at that moment. But I immediately transferred the coins to my wallet because I wasn't planning to sell them soon.

I have seen people getting burned in MtGox, Cryptsy, Mintpal & now Bitgrail; and I never trust any centralized exchange with the coins I can't afford to lose.
72  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] eBTC | The New (ERC20) Bitcoin on: February 19, 2018, 06:29:26 PM
ebtc in a nutshell: create a ethereum token in ten minutes, airdrop it, create a bs community cause free money yo, then convince and pay partners cause community yo. And then add those partners to ur team to make it legit. Then pay youtubers to promote it, cause partners yo and u got urself a scamcoin.

And then actually start using the token in real use cases because a working token + good community + real partners + active promotion -----> yo

Good news Bittrex had some wallet maintenance for zclassic,  think they will announce the support soon

Binance application in progress for BTCP (as per tweet) so most probably BITTREX will be announcing support to stay ahead of competition.

I don't see any tweet of Binance for BTCP application or even Zclassic, Can you share the tweet and direct link?

why my wallet is not sync? how can i sync it?

Did you upgrade from a previous version of the wallet? I'm asking because I had sync issues while I upgraded. Had to delete the blockchain data and re-sync from beginning.

What is the solution to these exchanges getting hacked again and again?

How can we avoid these exchanges which can get hacked?

-snip-

Ahmm...  decentralised exchanges... something something ...ahmmm
77  Local / India / Re: Questions About Indian Crypto Exchanges: Indx & BitBns on: February 17, 2018, 02:36:07 PM
Well, for an exchange to be KYC less right now in any country is risky, and they choosed the worst one to start their exchange with no KYC.

Yeah, especially when there is so much pressure from Indian government on money laundering and KYC compliance, their move seems risky. Not to mention the ambiguity in "how" they're going to maintain privacy of the users when all the money transfer is through online banking process with linked bank accounts. <--- everything is PAN card or Aadhar card linked in that case in my opinion.

Also, their website doesn't look very professional. Also the links to another exchange's fees page as I mentioned above.

I will stay away from them as of now and take "wait and watch" approach.
78  Local / India / Questions About Indian Crypto Exchanges: Indx & BitBns on: February 17, 2018, 09:30:39 AM
The background:
I came across a newly announced Indian crypto exchange: indx. They claim to be operational from next month and also claim to be KYC-less (hence anonymous) exchange. They're airdropping their own tokens called INDX coins to new registrants. But before registering on their site, I wanted to have a good look at how they're going to achieve what they claim to achieve, especially how they're going to manage a KYC-less policy when Indian government is going after all exchanges for regulations.

Anyway, whle going through their site, I was browsing through their FAQ and noticed that their FEES hyperlink actually takes you to BitBns.com!

Does anybody know if these two exchanges have anything in common (or operated by same people, maybe?)

Also, what thoughts you guys have about their "KYC-less" policy?

Have people read this owner of bitgrails signature on his profile?  IT says:

"You either die a developer, or live long enough to see yourself become the scammer.
O muori da programmatore, o vivi tanto a lungo da diventare uno scammer."

Haha....   guess he left the bread crumbs everywhere, we were just blind enough to see it  Grin

LOL, see the irony: his last post on the forum was this one:

P.S.: "BigRail"  <--- that made me chuckle!  Grin
