161  Economy / Economics / Re: (SSS) - A Sane and Simple bitcoin Savings plan on: December 31, 2017, 09:11:24 AM
Agreed; my "HODL in all situations" is emotional.  The original SSS plan is non-emotional.  I have a small enough basis that I don't care if it all goes to zero in a flash; well, I will be disappointed but ok.  Anyone taking more than an insignificant portion of their wealth into such risky investments should do it with a plan like SSS.

SSS is non emotional but it starts with a lot of money and only sells from there, each time the price doubles. That's not a realistic scenario for today. That's for people who bought/mined thousands of BTC when it was worth a few dollars or less.

Agreed. But the original idea remains same and you can modify according to your needs.

I actually created my own plan based on my portfolio. The gist is to maintain balance between fiat & crypto for risk management so that one doesn't outrun the other by a mammoth margin.
162  Other / Meta / Re: Forum ranks/positions/badges (What do those shiny coins under my name mean?) on: December 31, 2017, 09:08:11 AM
Thanks for this information I have read the post and I now understands how the ranks work and how you can achieve your rank to a higher position.

For example my position is a newbie, so I need to achieve 30 activities to become a Jr. member by posting with an interval of 360 second per post.

Plus, you can't earn more than 14 activity per 2-weeks period. Even if you post 100 posts, you'll still earn maximum of 14 activity points during 2 weeks time frame.
163  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Exposing the Ripple Scam on: December 31, 2017, 09:01:35 AM
It's good to see posts about people realizing how centralized this damn thing is.

I have never intended to own any XRP, but I have traded it to earn BTC profits during its pumps. That's the whole utility I see for this shitcoin: to earn more BTC.
164  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Bitcointalk Account price estimator on: December 31, 2017, 08:47:51 AM
website already out Sad
It's a great one not for the value, but just to see potential activity easier Sad and other stats Sad
Please come back on line Smiley

As already informed above, this forum is now using Cloudflare which prevents the bots from accessing the database. It will not work.

Anyway, the people whol sold their hero / legendary accounts for less than a BTC in past when BTC price wasn't too high have actually made thousands of dollars from their accounts looking at the current BTC price!
165  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [BCN] Bytecoin. Secure, private, untraceable since 2012 on: December 31, 2017, 08:43:05 AM
Hello, I am having a problem with my windows wallet and would appreciate any help or suggestions from the group.  After purchasing some bytecoin I moved them from the exchange wallet to a web wallet with no problem.  Last night I downloaded the windows wallet and it synched, but shows disconnected from the network.  I hit the start mining button and that seemed to be working because my shares continued to grow.

I then sent 700 coins from my web wallet as a test to see if there would be a problem receiving them.  Now my walled seems to not respond at all.  It still shows disconnected, it is no longer synced, and no transactions show.

Can anyone tell me how to go about fixing it?

First, make sure you're using the latest version of the wallet. (I believe the current version is v1.1.9.3)
The try restarting the wallet as well as the PC.
If that doesn't solve the problem, you may have to delete the blockchain data (C:\Users\YourUserName\AppData\Roaming\bytecoin) and sync the wallet from scratch. - Please note it is more than 40GB of data. - Backup the wallet before deleting blockchain data.
166  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Zclassic, Zcash Fork No Premine, No 20% Founders Tax on: December 31, 2017, 08:38:53 AM
My wallet is fully synced. and I sent some zclassic to a t address generated by my wallet...I know the transaction went through because it shows on the blockchain.

http://www.myzcl.com/tx/c843b2734a2082685d6604405f1c0571e9bacaf4d25b220ab0454896e0870559

but on my wallet it says No recieved Transactions and I dont see any t address. Is there any way I can add my t address to my wallet and have it show?

The transaction looks fine on explorer. Did you try restarting your wallet?

No bounce off 12500 means straight down again

Looks that way - disappointing

Remember remember the 2016 December: when $1000 was the dream come true. Even if we're down to $12k or less, we're still more than 10x from a year ago.

Whoa I'm on bittrex and is Zclassic really hitting over $100 per coin? This is incredible! Wow this is epic! I wonder if this is going to be the new bitcoin.

ZCL holders are going to be rewarded with "Bitcoin Private" (1:1 ratio). Looking at the success of privacy-focused coins (ZEC, XMR, DASH etc), Bitcoin Private is going to be HUGE! Get yourself some ZCL while it's still cheap. This coin is going to shoot above $500 easily after actual launch next month. (Even that shitty BTG is $300 right now. Imagine what BTCP will be)

If you're paying taxes on your crypto earnings, you should be fine.

Whatever their plans might be, the're not much vocal about it. First thing they should address is a proper working wallet and explorer. I managed to get hands on a wallet that works well with my Windows but it was hard to find since the official website doesn't provide proper links. It sucks.

So I'm going for the long on this project. It has taken me many man hours and research to get things in a working condition and even then it's not the way i'd like it.
1) Working block explorer - http://explorer.zclmine.pro/

Thanks for this. I was searching for a working block explorer but couldn't. you saved me some effort.

Follow the telegram chat. The DEV is planning meetings and updates for the Bitcoin Private fork.

Can you share the telegram link? I can't find it on their official site.

In today's newspaper I read that Income Tax department is going to send notices to 4-5 lakh high level traders who have traded Bitcoins at popular exchanges.
http://www.businesstoday.in/current/economy-politics/bitcoin-income-tax-notices-4-lakh-hnis-tax-evasion-cryptocurrency-digital-money-tax-fraud/story/266264.html

This comes after IT officials conducted surveys at 9 popular Bitcoin exchanges in India last week.

Let us know if anyone here receives the notice  Tongue

Now this scary news and seems like all Indian exchanges having this panic right now and price decreasing rapidly compared to International exchange price getting dropped in Indian exchanges .

I don't think the price decline is because of this news. Prices on Indian exchanges have always wandered around Bitstamp price, with USD to INR ratio being 70.
Currently Coinsecure INR 13,00,000 = Bitstamp USD 18,400 which is same as usual.
174  Local / India / Re: Crypto currency in india on: December 19, 2017, 08:59:57 AM
They have already stated that crypto currencies are impossible to "ban". So the most they can do is regulate them and imply income tax on the gains, which is fine by me.

Coin Distribution

Total Supply                 : 100 Million Coins
Circulating Supply        : 65 Million Coins
Future Developments    : 35 Million Coins

So out of 100 million total supply, you're keeping 35 million to yourself? No fricking way!
