1441  Economy / Reputation / Re: 'John Abraham ≈ naim027' Coincidence or Connection? on: June 12, 2023, 02:16:21 PM
The proofs provided by @Mahdirakib are enough for the named member to get banned from the forum again. If not then again this member would come out with an alt account. My understanding is that a banned member is not supposed to open up a new account.
Naim027 is not banned at the moment so even if its proven that John Abraham is his alt account (which I think most likely is the case here), its not a case of ban evading, therefore no ban for John Abraham.

Then again, he doesn't even need to get banned as few negative feedbacks will make his account useless for its intended purpose which is earning money via signature campaign.

1442  Local / Hrvatski (Croatian) / Re: Bitcoin VISA gift card i cash back servis on: June 12, 2023, 01:02:33 PM

1443  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Nigerian SEC declare Ban on Binance Exchange activities. on: June 11, 2023, 05:37:01 PM
I do not think so. I only know Binance to have office in Nigeria among the ones I mentioned just below.
Maybe that's the answer to your question and reason why your SEC is only targeting Binance and not the other exchanges (at least not yet). In the same way, SEC in the United States is also attacking Binance US only and not the global Binance.

1444  Local / Hrvatski (Croatian) / Re: Bitcoin VISA gift card i cash back servis on: June 11, 2023, 02:41:12 PM

1445  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: [Possible scam] FinxCoin ICO Project on: June 11, 2023, 02:23:04 PM
In my opinion a project this big should handle things more properly and faster.
To be honest, I don't see anything "big" about this project, and instead it looks like just one of the many similar altcoins around that brings nothing new to the market. Having said that, I am not surprised at their behaviour at all.

We will wait and see everything how it goes and if this project will ever launch and start their coin which needs a huge liquidity to reach the promised price of beyond the presale price 1 FIX = $0.15
Hah, you can forget about that price from happening, considering the fact that they gve 500k of their tokens for only 4 weeks of campaigns. If you ask me, they don't value their token much which usually ends up badly for all those who invested their money, or time via bounty campaigns.

One advice: when resizing images, you don't have to use both width and height because in majorify of cases you will mes up the ratio and images will look distorted, like in this case. Either width or height is enough and the other will adjust automatically.
1446  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Nigerian SEC declare Ban on Binance Exchange activities. on: June 11, 2023, 01:59:37 PM
But I wonder why only Binance, when other international exchanges are just like Binance.
Do other popular exchanges that Nigerians are using also have their branches opened, like Binance has with Binance Nigeria Limited?

Btw, what's the situation over there, which of the top exchanges Nigerians can use?
1447  Economy / Speculation / Re: Crypto experienced bloodshed on: June 10, 2023, 02:21:35 PM
What causes this market decline?
SEC pressing centralized exchanges, as simple as that.

What do you think of your friends to take advantage of situations like this, is it now the right time to buy a few coins?
It is always the the right time to buy, but not few coins and instead only one coin, bitcoin. But even then, I am not suggesting any of my friends to buy anything as I learned it the hard way why its not a smart thing to do, even if you are suggesting people to invest in bitcoin.
1448  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⭐⚽⭐ Sportsbet's Bitcointalk Sports Fanatics League (BSFL) – 5000+$ rewards ⭐⚽⭐ on: June 10, 2023, 02:11:39 PM
Yeah I just remember this, we wont have any major football league for a while until everything start back up so I kinda wonder what will we get each week. Im definitely not good with random sports but I guess that applies to majority of us I guess
As slackovic said, there is always something going on in the world of football so I don't think that should be a problem (unless its important to have big games every week). For example, next week we have UEFA Nations League final tournament, then in ~2 weeks early Champions League qualifications start etc and soon enough we are right back at the start of major football leagues.

Annnnnd down goes Alcaraz, wowsers. Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin
Meh, that finished much faster than anyone thought, I expected so much more from the so called "match of the season".

I did think that Djokovic will win this even if Alcaraz was healthy, but I just hope that Alcaraz is not injured and those were just cramps.
1450  Local / Hrvatski (Croatian) / Re: Bitcoin bankomati i fizičke kripto mjenjačnice u Hrvatskoj... i šire on: June 09, 2023, 09:04:30 AM

Oh, wait, but in basketball there are no goals. Did I misunderstoodsomething? Is it what I thought it stands for?
No, you didn't misunderstand anything, it does indeed mean field goal percentage, even though there are no "goals" in basketball.

Regarding why they use that term, my theory is this, as long time ago I asked myself the same thing (someone will surely correct me if I am wrong): for example, the word "goal" in football comes from a very definition of that word, and since goal of basketball game is to put the ball into the basket I guess that's why they use it.
1452  Economy / Exchanges / Re: SEC sues Coinbase for listing securities on: June 08, 2023, 03:43:29 PM
I don't know why everyone is angry at Gary, from a maximalist point of view he is the best we can get
I don't know about the others, but I have no reasons to be angry at him at all (its amusing though that that he allegedly applied to be a Binance adviser lol).

Since he is currently SEC chairman, I was more aiming at their lack of clear criteria what security coins/tokens are, because I see no reason (from my non expert point of view) why ETH is not mentioned as well, considering some other names on the list.
1453  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: New beginner on: June 08, 2023, 06:55:08 AM
Hi everyone, please can someone put me through on how the forum works, because I can't find my way around it please. Thanks.
First of all, welcome to bitcointalk.

What I noticed though is that almost immediately after you created this account you came here asking how this forum works. While there is nothing wrong about asking anything, I would suggest you to give it some more time and explore forum by yourself and do it at your pwn pace  because newbies often feel like they have to know everything and now which I don't think is a good thing to do as it may feel overwhelming.
1454  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⭐⚽⭐ Sportsbet's Bitcointalk Sports Fanatics League (BSFL) – 5000+$ rewards ⭐⚽⭐ on: June 08, 2023, 06:45:37 AM
At least lucky me that my opponent @Rikafip made the exact same prediction as me. Both of us started 0/2 on questions and it isn't exactly the exciting competition I expected to see.
Yep, both of us having a slow start. I was quite bad during previous season so it looks like I just continued  in the same fashion in the new one.  Cheesy

This time I expect a worse performance than Jokic compared to most of the expectations. But I'm aware that it is really risky while he is this much consistent and scoring so many points in the meantime.
Well, even though you expected him to peform bad, looks like we both ended up having one correct answer. What's even worse, i expected him to have a generally good night, but for whatever reason I didn't see that last part about field goal percentage so I didn't evenm answer that part (and that's where you gave a correct answer).

1456  Other / Meta / Re: Monthly Report Statistics on: June 08, 2023, 06:14:48 AM
Your reply is true but personally, I think Sarah Azhari implied about negative attitude towards forum members with reporter badges in general.
Reading her post again, might be that I misunderstood her concerns.

Spammers, shit posters might not know who report their posts but when they lose their minds, they might pull their gun towards reporter-badged members.
I might be wrong here, but I really think that people who deserve the report post badge (those very few with a large amount of reports) would have no issues dealing with some heat from an ocassional shitposter who would be triggered enough go against anypne with a badge so I don't think that would be a problem either.
1457  Economy / Exchanges / Re: SEC sues Binance and CZ on: June 08, 2023, 06:03:36 AM
If anyone does not see this lawsuit as a surprise, do you know what would come as a surprise? The allegation in this article hehehe. This shows Gary Gensler's hypocrisy. There was also a video of him where he was shilling Algorand, telling his listeners in MIT that Uber could be built in this blockchain hehehehe.
Hah yeah, I saw that news yesterday and it really made me chuckle. Hopefully it will show to general public what kind of clown Gary Gensler actually is.

I am starting to speculate that he might have lost a big investment in an altcoin somewhere which might have also triggered his personal war against the cryptospace.
Maybe that, and/or being pissed of that he wasn't given role of a Binance advisor. Either way, there is probably a personal reason for being so angry at crypto. Cheesy
1458  Other / Meta / Re: Monthly Report Statistics on: June 07, 2023, 06:19:44 AM
It is worth discussing the meaning or meaninglessness of something only if it concerns everyone. If some activity is strictly voluntary, then why these arguments about whether it makes sense or not?
You seem to keep forgetting that someone actually has to manually handle those reports, they are not automatically deleted. So its not only about those few who report old posts.

With that being said, maybe forum staff concluded that moderators energy should be more focused at reports that affect members (and therefore forum) more, which are of those recently written posts instead spending a lot of their time going through thousands of reports each month that affect forum members very little, if anything.

Now we see that no one else directs any energy anywhere. Nobody cares about these reports.
Hence small incentive like report badge or something along those lines. Don't get me wrong, I personally don't care about the badges at all but I am pretty certain that would make people report way more so why not. Only problem is that chances of that happening are slim to none but who knows, stranger things have happened.
1459  Economy / Exchanges / Re: SEC sues Binance and CZ on: June 07, 2023, 06:04:02 AM
After the Binance and coinbase is sued by SEC,maybe more people will choose the DEX,do you think so?
Nope. At least not in a significant measure.

If fall of first Mt.Gox and then FTX didn't make people move away from centralized exchanges, I don't think these measures will either. All it will eventually lead to is more restrictions & regulations and that's about it.
1460  Other / Meta / Re: Monthly Report Statistics on: June 07, 2023, 05:39:48 AM
With such thinking, you can generally stoop to the point that let's not report any posts at all.
Slippery slope.

Reporting a post from 2015-2017 may not make sense, reporting a post from 2020 does make sense, as topics containing such posts are often still active, and if they become a little cleaner, no one will get worse from this.
Forum won't become a worse place by deleting 3 years old posts, but I don't think it will become noticeably better either. At least not enough that its worth it to deal with those. After all, I don't think that only important metric is number of deleted posts, but also where and when those posts are written as well, but unfortunately that's info that we don't have access to.

In my opinion, 1 report of a post written today by a signature campaign shitposter is worth more than 100 reports of old bumps and similar shitposts written 3 years ago by some low rank shitposter or paid thread bumper. And that's why I like this new change, because those who like to report can actually focus their energy on something that affects this forum much more.

Yes, indeed, let's put on beautiful badges, and tons of shit will continue to lie on the forum. It turns out that the meaning of reporting is not to remove as much garbage as possible, but to stick some useless nonsense to the user that does not affect anything. Indeed, it makes a lot more sense.
Introducing badges would make people report more recently produced garbage (that's simply how things work as people like these kind of things) which in the end would make this forum much better place than removing posts written years ago. Keep in mind that you are still free to report old posts and they will get deleted unless you report it for one of the trivial reasons.

Is the member who has a reporter badge will be accused and will be hated?

because who knows, the member whose post was deleted, getting not paid because of not enough weekly post quota, and they accused members who have reporter badges
Reports are anonymous, no one except forum staff knows who reported which post.
