1301  Economy / Reputation / Re: Sr Member and Member alt account on: July 08, 2023, 06:15:02 AM
Yes you are right I am not new in this forum. I had many accounts in this forum but they are no longer under my control. My close friend cheated me and took the accounts for which I don't have high rank account now. For which I am posting with this newbie account. I have been back to the forum for three days.
Interesting. Instead of creating atopic about this friend who cheated you out of your own accounts, you decided catch bounty abusers.

So, why don't you share us names those accounts that were allegedly stolen from you, but this time provide a proper evidence for your claims.
1302  Other / Meta / Re: Is it allowed to post in English in a Local Section on: July 08, 2023, 06:10:24 AM
But I also don't think it would be bad if the poster uses GT to post occasionally in Bahasa Indonesia as an act of politeness. This was done by @fillippone a few years ago in my thread.
I've been doing the same thing from time to time (like once every few months) on other local boards and never had issues whatsoever, and others were doing in our local board. As long as you are not overdoing it, (probably) no one will object.

The issue with Google Translate (or any other machine translator) is that it can generate complete gibberish translations, causing a complete loss of meaning. In my opinion, when you find yourself in a situation where you don't know the local language and need to communicate on a local forum board, it's best to stick with English.
I think results depend a lot on the kind of language you are using. If you are using bunch of slang and idioms, Google translate will have issues and it will result in gibberish, but as long as you are sticking to clear and properly written sentences (which I am doing when using translate to write on other local boards)  Google will do a pretty decent job.
1303  Other / Meta / Re: Is it allowed to post in English in a Local Section on: July 07, 2023, 04:57:17 PM
I found that most of the topics in local boards in India are also in English. so I don't see any problem in using English on local boards. I don't think anyone else would have a problem if the local community members accept English as their topic and I have not found anything in any of the local board rules that says English cannot be used in the local board. But if the local community members do not accept English and if they report the post it may get deleted so it is better not to use English on local boards.
Indian local board is a specific case because they have more than 20 official languages and English is among them. Since it would be a total chaos to use so many official langauges, they agreed to use English. At least that's the explanation given to me by once of their members as I was also curious about them using English.

I don't think anyone else would have a problem if the local community members accept English as their topic and I have not found anything in any of the local board rules that says English cannot be used in the local board
I don't think that anyone would mind if an outside member leave ocassional post in English (at least members of my local board don't mind) but I don't think any local board members will like it if their local board is swarmed with posts written in English.

1304  Economy / Reputation / Re: Sr Member and Member alt account on: July 07, 2023, 02:19:39 PM
If yes attach evidence if No then close the thread and move on...... Don't waste our time.
He did share some (weak) evidence that both joined the same bounty campaign using the same address but that alone is not enough to prove that there is indeed connection between those two accounts.

Looking at his (very short) post history, looks like OP is an alt account on merit fishing mission.

We hope that we won't have to take that route, although even that would be more fair than this 'case per case' stuff that we are trying to keep in place just so that the penalties aren't too big for being a bit late.
I don't know about the others, but I absolutely wouldn't mind if you decide to set up a rule where being late to submit answers equals to losing the round (for example you can set up beng an instant 3-0 loss like in football).

I think that we are all given more than enough time to answer those questions, and those who are willing to wait until last moment for a slight benefit will have to accept the risk as well.

1307  Local / Hrvatski (Croatian) / Re: Pregled Bitcointalk Signature-Ad kampanja on: July 06, 2023, 01:09:48 PM

Sad još kad me Trofo ubaci u one svoje poolove u Gambling sekciji, postat ću još traženija roba Grin haha

We ask you once again to submit your answers on time to make it easier for us and more fair to everybody involved.
What I can say is that I definitely learned my lesson after getting -1 point and 5 answers not counting for being ~30 minutes late as in the end it cost me a win.

Situations like these will always cause dissatisfaction for somebody, and the decision will be hard on Coin_trader. It would have been harder on Rikafip though if we accepted the answers on those 4 questions.
I know that this way you are trying to sort of "force" people to stop procastinating and submit their answers in time, but if he didn't get any real advantage over me by being late I woulnd't mind if you counted those 4 answers.
1309  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Twitter Granted 3 Money Transmitter Licenses, Possible Bitcoin Integration? on: July 06, 2023, 05:59:47 AM
Great, I missed this news, do you have the source where it is reported?
Here you go

Twitter Payments LLC, a subsidiary of Elon Musk’s Twitter social network, appears to have received its first money transmitter licenses after Michigan, New Hampshire and Missouri approved the company’s applications.

A money transmitter license allows a company to provide transfer services or payment instruments. This differs from a license to conduct sales in that it’s meant to provide consumer protections for businesses that facilitate the transmission of money from one party to another, not just the purchase of products and services.

It remains unclear at this time exactly what offerings will be on tap if and when Twitter Payments eventually rolls out. The company applied for licenses in all 50 U.S. states, and there’s no clear timeline for the approval process.

Elon planning to integrate payments on Twitter is not a new thing really because he bought Twitter for the exactly that thing, to make it an "everything app" where you will be able to do all sorts of things, similar to how WeChat in China is being used.

Elon has always been a fan of Bitcoin
If he was  a true Bitcoin fan he woulnd't remove it as a mean so payment for Tesla due those bs enviromental concerns. To me he is more of an opportunist when it comes to Bitcoin.

@cryptofrka looks like that you forgot to make my answers visible because I see that Coin_trader submitted his answers.

Saint-loup answers are still hidden as well, but his opponent MAAManda still didn't submit his answers so maybe its because of that?

1311  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Is It Good For Local Crypto Forum To Include Other Interest To Attract More.. on: July 06, 2023, 05:10:21 AM
The strategy is to get other people with other interests in the forum to get them to know about Cryptocurrency which is the main theme of the forum.
It does make sense to add other non-crypto related stuff, but honestly I don't think that it will help much to attract users. Older forum users are already used to forums where they spent years (that probably have crypto subforum) while younger audience prefer other means of communication.

And do you have a local Cryptocurrency forum in your country?
We did have several attempts, but none managed to get any traction. By far the biggest and the most active crypto community (when it comes to forums) in my country usually hangs out in an already established general type of forum that's been around since early 2000s and that has dedicated crypto child board. That's where I heard about Bitcoin for the first time back in 2013 and where I used to discuss crypto related stuff until 2019 when I decided to join this forum.

1312  Economy / Exchanges / Re: multi account on binance with same ip on: July 05, 2023, 09:46:14 PM
is it allowed to open two accounts with same ip,  two account of different house members like two brothers with same phone.
If you meant registering account using the same mobile phone number, I don't think that you will be able to do that but you shouln't have issues having two accounts registered on the same IP.

I have Binance account since 2017, and few years ago I visited my brother who created his own Binance account while I was visiting him, meaning both of us had the same IP address and we didn't have any issues whatsover so I don't think that you will have either. After all, you have to go through KYC in order to use Binance so there's no worry that same person will create both accounts. At least not theoretically that because I know that there people who created more Binance accounts using their family members ID so they can get more Binance debit cards and that way circumvent daily ATM withdrawal limit.  Tongue
1313  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I sold the altcoins and invested in Bitcoin" on: July 05, 2023, 12:58:53 PM
Now my question is, is it good for my future that I have sold my altcoins and invested in bitcoins?
Imho, its the right move. While altcoins may bring bigger profit in shorter period of time to those who know what they are doing, 99.99% of the people are better with sticking to bitcoin only because it is proven that in the longer period of time it outperforms just about any altcoin.

What you did just now I did back in early 2019 when I sold all my altcoins (many of them with loss) and decided to focus on bitcoin and i must say it has been the best financial decision ever because if I kept holding alts, I would have way less than I have now and on top of that, I would have to constantly track the market because alts have tendency to die.

The trust wallet I put my invested bitcoins in, is the trust wallet safe for my bitcoins?[/size]
No it isn't. Software wallets like Trust are ok-ish as a sort of hot wallet where you hold smaller amount of crypto for everyday use but for that amount of bitcoin that you have i would strongly advise you to get hardware wallet as soon as possible. Good ones are less than $100 and trust me, you will sleep much better. I know I do ever since I keep my bitcoin there.
1314  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Is the Binance the next to bite the dust or FUD? on: July 05, 2023, 12:49:23 PM
What is worrying about Binance is there is an increasing threat of being cut off from different jurisdictions. I reckon if this continues and if a panic begins, I am afraid that Binance would decide to freeze all their users' accounts from withdrawals not because they do not have the funds, but because they want to save the exchange. One big panic is all it might take for Binance to bite the dust
If what you are saying is true and all it takes is bunch of people trying to withdraw money to ruin Binance, then it is a scam exchange that is misuing people's money in the same way FTX did. I mean, I woulnd't be surprised if there is some delay in case large amount of people try to withdraw simply due tehical issues but why would that mean the end of Binance?

Either way, no exchange is place to store your crypto, no matter how reputable it is.

If Binance goes down, what if Justin Sun enters with his billions and buy Binance then become the new king of the cryptospace?
Lol chances of that happening ( Sun buying out Binance and becoming "king of cryptospace") are slim to none. I am sure that he would use that hypotethical situation to promote hismelf future (as he usually do) but I don't think that he has that amount of money.
1315  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: CEO LayerZero Twitter account hacked on: July 05, 2023, 10:03:18 AM
Really bad news, I don't know how scammers get access to Twitter accounts so easily if the account owner has secured his account protection well.
Well, obviously he didn't protect his account well because if he used a solid password with the combination of 2FA I doubt that they would be able to hack him.

A few days ago I saw so many blue verified accounts posting phishing links with a ton of likes and retweets. Not sure if the account was hacked or if it was a bot account that managed to pass through Twitter filters.
I doubt those were hacked accounts because it is very easy to get verified nowadays. All that you really have to do is not change your username in the last few months and not spam too much, pay the money and you get your Twitter account verified so its no surprise that Twitter is overrun with them.
1316  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: July 04, 2023, 03:57:50 PM
The Saudi Arabia league is not third none 10th in the world yet, but the progress their making it obvious they will be top five in four years to come except you're not observing well and following up.
Lol you serious, top 5 football league in the world in four years? Not even Saudis with their oil money can't buy that.

this big stars that's in the league already will encouraged the young stars to believe that their dream in football are real. the younger stars will be notice now globally because for the rapid changes in the league.
You can forget about young stars coming en masse to Saudi Arabia because that would be detrimental for their career and their own development. You can only improve and become better player if yopu play against the best players in the world, and they won't be there.
1317  Other / Meta / Re: [CHARTS] Brief monthly overview of the local boards activity on: July 04, 2023, 03:49:47 PM
Speaking about additional merit source then I also doubt that if any has been appointed from a long time.
Yep, last time thyemos introduced new merit sources was 2 years ago, back in June/July 2021. From what I noticed, he tends to add new merit sources in bulk after he notices that merrit shared across forum drops significantly, and until that happens I think that its unlikely that we will see new new merit sources, even if some local boards could really use more.

But if the merit source help them that will boost their confidence and we might see more progress in all aspects from Indonesian board in your next month charts.
Have you tried sharing posts from your local board in Report unmerited good posts to Merit Source? I did that in the past when our local board lacked merit and it really helped us.
1318  Other / Meta / Re: [TELEGRAM] Yet Another BitcoinTalk Notification BOT (merits, mentions, topics,+) on: July 04, 2023, 02:17:24 PM
I already adjusted my merit count but many of us maybe did not notice the difference.
How did you adjust merit count manually?

I usually don't mind the discrepancy because bot usually shows less than I actually have and for whatever reason few days ago it started show more than I have (which is kinda annoying), to be more precise it shows 5040 while I have actually 5033.
1319  Other / Meta / Re: [CHARTS] Brief monthly overview of the local boards activity on: July 04, 2023, 07:00:25 AM
As I just finished my monthly Italian board overview, I noticed the Indonesian board had another extremely positive month.
I was also surprised to see such a big merit increase in Indonesian board (first thing that crossed my mind is that they maybe got a new merit source but I was too lazy to check Merit Dashboard to see what's acually going on) but then Ratimov gave an explanation that external merit sources gave them a push.

I rmember same thing happened in Croatian board few years ago when we were undermerited and external merit sources came from time to time and helped.
1320  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: July 04, 2023, 06:56:03 AM
Well, honestly in Bundesliga and Ligue 1, apart from Bayern Munich, Dortmund mainly and PSG +/- Lens and Marseille, the other teams are quite normal although their big names and the name of the players they have.
I don't think that you fully understand the current gap between Saudi league and Budesliga/Ligue 1. Former is ranked somewhere between 50-60 strongest league, which is equivalent  of German 3rd league and for that kind of league to come into top 5 you would need an insane amount of money, especially in the country that is not known by its rich football history. Also keep in mind that they don't produce their own quality players (unlike Bundesliga and Ligue 1) which is another big problem.

If we incorporate the teams that Saudis are trying to build by recruiting many European players then they will be as competitive as Marseille and Lens, or Leipzig and Leverkusen for exemple. The remaining Saudi teams if they pick similar players then we will have something similar to Bundesliga and Ligue 1. Dunno if you understood what I meant.
Do you really think that all Saudi clubs have that kind of money, to indefinitely keep grossly overpaying players in order for them to come here? Of course they don't, and this trend will eventually die out, like it happened with China. I see this trend merely as a Saudi Arabia attempt to be a host of 2030 World Cup, which I don't think it will happen.
