2122  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Vanitygen: Vanity bitcoin address generator/miner [v0.22] on: May 15, 2015, 08:56:35 AM
I got a VPS from someone at a very cheap price. I wonder how can I use the VPS with Vanitygen. Any guide? Searched Google but dont seem to find any answer.

You can install vanitygen and generate vanity addresses like you do in a normal PC.

It is my first time using a VPS. I'm currently hosting with Nexhost. How do I install Vanitygen from the control panel? Is there a step by step guide?

You can use Putty. http://www.putty.org/

There are many tutorials for using Putty.
2123  Other / Meta / Re: Option "track/follow user" on: May 15, 2015, 08:53:51 AM
It is suggested in New Forum Software. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=976114.0

I support this.
2124  Other / Meta / Re: I dont pay loan but guy take collateral worth 3 times more and call me scammer on: May 15, 2015, 08:51:02 AM
I think he is saying that he should not be labeled a scammer. He doesn't appear to be complaining about loosing the value of his collateral.

yep thats what i think hes saying too, he had collateral so how is he a scammer?

It's possible 'scammer' is not the right word to use (that's arguable) but OP is definitely untrustworthy. The deal was not selling the account for 0.1 BTC, OP agreed to repay the loan and if he doesn't repay it then he's not respecting his own word. I would never trust or deal with a user whose word is worthless.

Besides that a big issue with OP is his trust abuse:

Yeah, I wouldn't say he's a scammer. He secured the loan so nothing was scammed. Like op is complaining about it's actually good for the lender he didn't/can't repay because he can make much profit on the account. Op has nothing to complain about in this regard because he offered it as collateral and knew the terms.

True Irfan got a good profit but therr is no reason for him to give his account back. Also calling scammer when a person do a quick-sale via loan is not a recent thing After all, it is a loan not a sale. I can correct the word in negative feedback if someone tells me more appropriate word which I can agree with.

I dont care what you think. He earn on this loan 300% this is not normal. I lost 0.2BTC or even more and you told i not be trusted  what is wrong with you guys.
And im not scammer.

It doesn't matter if he earned 300% on the collateral - you didn't pay your loan on time and you didn't have an agreement for him to refund the excess value to you.  Keep in mind the value of the collateral could have dropped as well (scam accusations on account), in which case you wouldn't be complaining, right?

I'm ok with using your terminology - what do you want to call yourself seeing you failed to pay back a loan as promised?

You shouldnt call him anything, what if he had problems to pay the loan, wich he obviously did, you cant know what happened exactly. If someone does not pay a loan because he simply cannot i wouldnt call him a scammer, if he doesnt pay it because HE DOESNT WANT TO, now thats a different story

If he can't pay, he should tell it before due date. He obviously avoided it and now asking account back realizing the value.

The speaker says: "There is no excuse for any Muslim not to migrate to the Islamic State... joining [its fight] is a duty on every Muslim. We are calling on you either to join or carry weapons [to fight] wherever you are."
 -snip-

A duty? No excususes? Cheesy There are many reasons/excuses for not joining this innocents-killing army. I really hope he knows what he is talking about. There is nothing hidden in what he is, just a political psycho.
2126  Economy / Lending / Re: Can you offer me anything? on: May 15, 2015, 08:35:52 AM

What do you have to offer as collateral? People will see this as a scam attempt if you don't offer any assurance Smiley

I can give out my personal identity and my work website! Smiley

not enough, you need to offer something that has the same value of what you needs(12 usd)

a can do it if you can offer me as a collateral a good game(steam key that you didn't used)

Collateral is needed if he is asking for a loan but he is asking for a work.

Update:

I don't know what to use as collateral. I can't access my steam account since I forgot the password, and I created my account on an e-mail address that I have deleted.

Ignore it. Post if you have any skills and someone may hire you.
2127  Economy / Services / Re: [BIT-X.com] Earn Bitcoins by Posting | Signature Campaign on: May 15, 2015, 08:32:46 AM
What do you guys want to see in the new campaign, apart from new signatures of course? I'm happy with how it's running right now.
Higher payments for the people who you give custom deals to Wink

especially those who are about to expire

Didn't realize there were custom deals as well. Do we need to send a PM to inquire?

Yes. PM Marco.
2128  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Why do people hate islam? on: May 15, 2015, 08:31:55 AM
Mainly people hate islam as whenever some terrorist attacks takes place the first thing comes to mind is that muslims will be involved in it and for our surprise everytime it has been proved true so now its a mentality of a society that only muslims are involved in killing other human beings.

Not really. Almost all of the times medias tell the killers are Muslims and most of the times they aren't sure.
2129  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Difference between physical meetups and online exchanges on: May 15, 2015, 08:26:45 AM
Can you guys explain to me a standard "protocol" for a physical meetup. As in, do you pay in cash? Do you offer the cash first and then undergo the Bitcoin transaction? Basically how do you actually go about the exchange?

I have not done it personally.  But I would suggest meeting in a public place with internet Starbucks, Mc Donalds,  etc etc(even better if your phone has wifi capability that can be used with laptop to connect to) .   I pick these places as you could stay there a bit.

It's better to do the deal in a public but not too crowded place. The place you suggested will be far less crowded and it will be hard for you to escape if trader or his/her acquaintances/friends attack you. A building or room with less people is dangerous. You should also make sure distance between you and trader is at least far enough for him not able to snatch anything from you or attack you. Distance of a common hotel/coffee shop table is probably enough.

You will be waiting for at least one conformation, unless buyer want's more.

Waiting for 1 confirmation isn't really needed but 10 minutes is enough for a good talk. Wink

But as always with something of value be careful. Make sure not to do anything like bring all your BTC, leave cold storage at home.

I highly recommend to send Bitcoins you are selling to a new address and come only with that.

Also I would invest in a pen that shows if cash is fake.

For INR, there are few ways to check without counterfeit detector pen but I don't know about other currencies. Still a counterfeit detector is a good choice.

To avoid possible risks, I suggest you to trade with trusted people.

You first post in Currency Exchange sub-forum or in LocalBitcoins (popular) and will meet up at a mutually agreed place.

Exchanging cash or Bitcoin first depends on the users. Some send Bitcoin first and some give cash first.
2132  Economy / Lending / Re: Loan of 0.08 is needed on: May 15, 2015, 06:08:49 AM
A drop like that in that time frame suggests to me the OP simply wants to get rid of his/her account.

If that's the case, why not simply sell it instead of scamming?

Remember - Vod is watching.   Wink

1) Neotex is profiting if BTCBLOGGER defaults the loan.
2) The account won't get negative feedback as it is under collateral but alt accounts may get.
2133  Economy / Lending / Re: Loan of 0.08 is needed on: May 15, 2015, 06:03:48 AM
This is probably a quick-sale or reputation loan.
2134  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2015-05-14] BIT-X Bitcoin Debit Card | Press Release on: May 15, 2015, 05:56:01 AM
Im really happy to see that Official launch of Master Card. And also they Now ship that card to Pakistan, I surely go for it. I think your Fees at ATM withdrawal is some what lit but higher, .02 BTC. Can you please mind to lower that fees?

Hmm... the fee for ATM withdrawal is a bit on the higher side. BTC0.02 is equivalent to $5. If I am withdrawing $200 through the ATM, then I'll be paying 5.5% as the fees ($5 plus 3% Mastercard commission). But it is still better than using the Localbitcoins to convert BTC to fiat, as the vendors there normally charge as much as 10% for the currency exchange.

This advantage is destroyed by inactive monthly fee of 0.05BTC. You need to us a minimum of 5 times a month or a have a balance of 5BTC(IIRC) in BIT-X. Lips sealed

Hello , I think we need an option to create green addresses for bitcoin and multisigs ones
will make this generator better .

Bitcoin Boy .

What are "green" addresses?  Can you provide a link or something?  I don't know what that means.

Don't know how this can be green address and vanitygen can go along. I don't like green address.

Can you tell me how much EUR shoud i pay to add 100 USD to my Bit-x account?

There is no deposit fee AFAIK.

I paid 94,70€ instead of about 87,90€ for buying 100$.
My bank does not apply any extra fee for currency conversion.
So, what's the matter?

I guess I was wrong. For you, they charged ~£7.01.

Can you tell me how much EUR shoud i pay to add 100 USD to my Bit-x account?

Sorry about the delayed response. The amount you get in USD after depositing EUR will be affected by the exchange rate between the two. I am fairly certain that 90 EUR would be enough for you to get 100 USD in your account. Note that you may encounter exchange fees.
2137  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Re: BFGMiner 5.1.0: GBT+Stratum, RPC, Mac/Linux/Win64, BlackArrow Prospero, KnC Nep. on: May 15, 2015, 05:27:11 AM
Hello fellow hashers!
I'm running bfgminer 4.1.0 now on some miners that require bfgminer to be able to support extranonce and the #xnsub  command.
I'm running them on nicehash for a friend who has a Zeus Lightning X6 farm.
I found out that 4.1.0 doesn't support extranonce algo so I looked for and found bfg 4.7.0 but it's all convoluted and not telling me how to set the command line to work correctly.
I tried using the bat file from 4.1.0 but alas, it just spits dummy!
Can anyone share a working bat file for 4.7.0 so I can get going with the latest version that supports extranonce.
I found 5.1.0 but there doesn't seem to be a version compiled for win32 nor does it say if it supports the extranonce algo required by the NiceHash/WestHash pool.
I can only run versions already compiled for win32.
Also....
Have they combined the ability to run Zeus and GridSeed 5 chips from the same program/gui yet?
Any help or useable advice would be greatly appreciated.
Wolfey2014

Download 5.1.0 - http://luke.dashjr.org/programs/bitcoin/files/bfgminer/5.1.0/bfgminer-5.1.0-win32.zip. You can always go to http://luke.dashjr.org/programs/bitcoin/files/bfgminer/ to download.

It supports extranonce and can be used with Nicehash/Westhash. I suggest not to run Zues with Gridseed in same app. It won't go smoothly.

So if I understand well it's not a good investment.

I am searching a good investment, do you have any advice ?

A couple of days ago i tried scrypt.cc with a very little amount of btc and it looked like ok, i earn btc and i had been able to withdraw, but i don't know if it's a ponzi or not :/

scrypt.cc has been around for quite a long time and I don't think it's a ponzi.

It is.
2140  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: [EDU] Bitcoin-related Scam Websites on: May 15, 2015, 04:27:19 AM
Hmm... Didn't realize that.

I guess it could be a simple content mirror then, although it could just as easily be a phishing site. Without some kind of official statement from the site owner (or disabling of the login prompt), it's probably best to stay on the safe side I guess.

The other site that I linked to in my previous post (Data321.net) was a content mirror for Chinese users, for example:

if you visit the site and scroll to the bottom, you'll see this:
Quote
本网站为比特币加速站点,只为方便中国用户搜索及查找相关答案,属于非营利网站,友情链接或者其他相关问题,请联系QQ:2450057300.
which translates to
Quote
This website is Bitcoin accelerate site, only for the convenience of Chinese users to search and find relevant answers, a non-profit website, links or other related issues, please contact QQ: 2450057300.

Mystery solved. all you had to do was scroll down. Kiss

Bitcoin-forums.net doesn't look like a simple content mirror.

Google is stupid and has trouble differentiating bitcointalk.org from mirrors. That site is trying to exploit this in order to occasionally place above or near bitcointalk.org in search results, and then use this position to make money in various ways. It seems that currently they were paid to increase the click stats of some specific URLs, and they're doing this by putting some extra iframes in each page.

Hmm... I always thought Google's search engine ranking algorithm penalized sites that have duplicate content. Strange to see that it isn't the case for Bitcointalk. I also regularly see Bitcointa.lk being placed higher in search results than this site too.

Didn't notice the iframes until you pointed it out. Yes, very sneaky. I can see them in the code:

Code:
<iframe scrolling="no" frameborder="0" src="http://www.entekcms.com/" width="0" height="0"></iframe>
<iframe scrolling="no" frameborder="0" src="http://s.click.aliexpress.com/e/JYNzzbIiI" width="0" height="0"></iframe>
<iframe scrolling="no" frameborder="0" src="http://www.findhe.com/gg/ggindex.php" width="0" height="0"></iframe>

Not sure how they would be able to profit from this though. Huh

There also seems to be some extra JavaScript at the end for StatCounter too as well as something that looks Chinese.
Not sure how they would be able to profit from this though. Huh
for the aliexpress link: cookie stuffing
