1. Buy a trusted senior account.
2. Start a ponzi on Bitcointalk.
3. ? ? ?
4. Wonder why Bitcoin gets horrible press.

and this is exactly, what I meant by OP...anyway, it is not on me to decide, just saying there is imho huge negative impact to bitcoin generated by this section.

The problem is not the section, is allowing these kind of trash on the forum at all, just fucking ban every thread that promotes a ponzi, easy as that, no need for a section for it, but probably mods are going to come and say "its too hard to moderate all ponzies" or "we dont have time to delete all ponzies" wich is bullshit, i doubt it takes that much time to totally delete each of those ponzi threads

There are cloud mining providers which are actually ponzi but they claim they ain't. If we start moderating ponzis, we will see more of these and it will be hard to differentiate scam and legitimate. Now, at least we know those are ponzis. What will happen if those come under new names and in different boards?

Wow, you are so helpful! Cheesy
But what I got from https://www.fasturl.com/support/htaccess.html is that I must have url of that rotator, right? I don't know it.. I just know that it's rotator, because it's giving referral commissions to this https://faucetbox.com/en/check/1BDSf6T17iCRFkSwXbWUFWqsr29j24KqGu address
You could block the address using PHP, though if the user changed the address you would have to change the code blocking it.
i have this problem, but i dont know her/his reffer address, i just know her/his bitcoin address, do u  can help more? thank you.

Block all faucet rotators but it may decrease traffic.

Edit: @nano-btc: The rotator is http://ifaucet.net/. Blacklist it. FYI: I found the connection between the address you posted and this rotator by a simple Google search -- https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=374945. You may want to try it before asking here. Wink
1884  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Don't create "Free Bitcoin" posts here. on: May 19, 2015, 04:44:33 PM
Actually, it should be the job of a moderator to watch the sections s(he) is responsible for reguarlary in order to find wrong or disallowed posts.

Don't create any "Free Bitcoins" post here. There is a dedicated sub-board for these called Micro Earnings. You can ask questions like "Where to get free bitcoins?", "Any free bitcoin sites?" etc... and discuss about these sites in that board.

I advice you to understand the risks involved in free Bitcoin sites before using them. There is an excellent EDU by shorena: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1044399.0.

Happy earning!
I recommend contacting a moderator or posting in meta. You are right on this particular matter and I agree with you, however a lot of people won't see this thread.
After some time it will just get buried in the section and bumping it all the time would be pointless.
The thread should be sticky so it is visible by default in the section.

Mods are doing they are job well.
1885  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Bit-X Debit MasterCard on: May 19, 2015, 04:42:11 PM
Try AdvCash. It's a prepaid card but it is worth buying. There is no much different between prepaid card and debit card.

Checked their fees and they are better than Bit-X at some point.
Can you please tell me whether we can use these cards in order to verify PayPal accounts?

AdvCash offer both physical and virtual card. I don't know about verification but I think it should work.

It worked for me. Their fees and limits are definitely better than Bit-X, and its the one I'm using right now.

Bit-X will be releasing their own Prepaid and Virtual Debit Cards soon Wink.

Early June.

I hope the fees are competitive to AdvCash.
1886  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: MRKLYE is a scammer, scammed 20 BTC and yet has GREEN trust, FIX! on: May 19, 2015, 04:41:38 PM
I deleted and reposted my feedback and it seemed to put him negative again when viewed using DefaultTrust depth 2. I think the negative feedback "decayed" over time.

Yeah, it does. Green trust gets 'stronger' over time too. I noticed someone I left a positive to ages ago and who only has that one feedback went from to 0: -0 / +1(1) to 1: -0 / +1(1) recently (after about a year).

It takes 10 months to go from black to green if a user has 1 positive trust feedback.

Currently, trust scores are calculated in this way:

Code:
scam_reports = total unique users who report scamming
reports = total positive ratings
btc = total BTC from positive ratings
unique_reports = total unique users who posted positive ratings
oldest = timestamp of the oldest positive trust rating
latest_scam = timestamp of the latest scam rating

scam_multiplier = 1
# recent scam = bigger negative score
if(current_time - latest_scam < 7 days)
    scam_multiplier += 1.5

# new member = bigger negative score
if(current_time - oldest < 60 days)
    scam_multiplier += 3

months = months since oldest
total = reports + btc/50    # 50 BTC = 1 report

# long-term con men
if(total > 0 && scam_reports > 4)
    scam_multiplier += (scam_reports / total) * 50

# Approximately limit the number of points each person can contribute each month
subtotal = min(2*unique_reports * months, total)
# Newer users have smaller point limits
limited_total = min(subtotal, 10*months) / 10

score = min((limited_total * months - scam_reports * scam_multiplier), 150)

1887  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: MRKLYE is a scammer, scammed 20 BTC and yet has GREEN trust, FIX! on: May 19, 2015, 04:34:14 PM
I deleted and reposted my feedback and it seemed to put him negative again when viewed using DefaultTrust depth 2. I think the negative feedback "decayed" over time.

The positive trust feedbacks left are very old and they may have more weight than negative feedbacks.
1888  Other / Meta / Re: Newbie accounts used for trolling on: May 19, 2015, 03:50:23 PM
So, there used to be a rules that newbie limited to the Beginners section for a period of time?
I think we need to run that rules again, because it would reducing the amount of spam.

It won't and in fact, it would only increase spam as legitimate users will turn away.
1889  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: asuryan180 left false feedback on: May 19, 2015, 02:53:05 PM
I think you should send the remaining 0.02.

Thanks for your feedback. I would like to see what other members think about this.
As I have mentioned, I believed that it implied pro-rata based on time (in the end I averaged between time and posts), but I am willing to revise that stance.

I know you have been fair to enrollees or at least I experienced it.

IMHO you should pay 0.02BTC because what mentioned in OP isn't clear like EcuaMobi told. If you want to avoid this in future, please be precise about this in OP.
1890  Economy / Micro Earnings / Re: [ANN] FaucetBOX.com - API & faucet script, create your own crypto faucet on: May 19, 2015, 02:50:35 PM
Important: looks like some custom faucet scripts don't handle P2SH addresses properly. FaucetBOX.com supports Bitcoin and Dogecoin P2SH addresses, so we'll wait about a week or two and make a policy to only list faucets that supports them correctly. Example Bitcoin P2SH address: https://blockchain.info/address/3NukJ6fYZJ5Kk8bPjycAnruZkE5Q7UW7i8
How to address like this?

You can create a multisg address using:

• Armory
• Electrum
https://coinb.in/#newMultiSig
• Bitcoin core.

1891  Other / Meta / Re: Should Bitcointalk sell coin communitites a subsection of the forum on: May 19, 2015, 02:35:46 PM
If the coins were that popular then they would always be at the top so decent ones wouldn't be 'lost', but why would they need their own entire sub? So they can have about five dead threads in? Take a look at the Litecoin forum. LTC's (arguably the second biggest coin) forum is completely dead. The others are worse. It's pointless having their own forum and it's pointless having their own sub sections here.

If it's pointless,

Then their empty threads won't take up much harddrive space and the BTT wins as it gets extra revenue from hosting those empty threads. WIN WIN Smiley

Boards for empty/dead threads is pointless and it won't increase ad revenue. Also, Bitcointalk doesn't need more money than it earns now.
1892  Other / Meta / Re: Quickseller's feedback on my account on: May 19, 2015, 02:32:55 PM
The claim of the account being purchased is based on the fact that your account was used primarily for giveaways, (and made many very short posts) in its early days, in a fashion that is consistent with someone farming activity to build up "potential activity". The February date is when posting activity picked up substantially. Sure it is possible that you simply gained an interest in the forum around that time, however your account's posting history is consistent with a farmed account. I do not have access to IP addresses nor password changes greater then 30 days ago, so I will need to use evidence that is publicly available and that evidence points to a farmed account.

 -snip-

Thanks for your reply.

I don't purchase accounts as I myself has stated that many times that I dislike account sales on this forum. I have many other forum accounts with the same username. It's my wish if I make small posts or large posts and how does that affect any other member? I asked Badbear to prove that it's my account and now MZ also has proved it as my bitcoin address is the same. The post in 2013 is not edited FYKI.

I dint even know about Signature Capmpaigns nor about bitcoins till I came here and since I had an exchanger, I tried earning bitcoins. I am an active member of EMS emoneyspace.com/forum/ and that's the place I am comfortable with as there the trust system and scams are moderated unlike here where you or any other person can accuse me of anything I haven't done.
I edited my comment to say that your early post history is consistent with that of a farmed account. A signed message does not mean that the account was not purchased however the editing of my comment makes this a moot point now.
 -snip-

Address associated with an account can also be sold when selling that account but when I acted as escrow for a trade between him and another user, the funds were released to his address posted in July, 2013. (post).

Using a bought address is insecure and nobody would do that except for testing purposes.

1894  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: Anonymous Debit Card just now! on: May 19, 2015, 02:22:59 PM
I would like to get a free vouch. I don't want to pay $30 to you upfront because of your reputation. I will pay you if the card is working and there is no problem with it.

By the way, what is your legal status about this card?

Please quote staking post above yours. People who are just quoting should wait a few hours for another stake. Please don't quote just after a post is made. Cluttering this post. Thank you!

so that's why I'm asking people to quote the address posted by the preceding user in this thread.

If the new poster quoted previous post, there is no need to quote it again. It is similar to sig-spam IMHO(no offence). Please avoid it. Quote if the new poster didn't quote previous post. Thank you! Smiley
1897  Other / Meta / Re: Should Bitcointalk sell coin communitites a subsection of the forum on: May 19, 2015, 01:12:49 PM
Satoshi made bitcointalk and passed on ownership to theymos.

Do you think Satoshi wants his forum to sell whore off space to crapcoins?!?!

Satoshi left this forum, theymos ended up being the de facto owner. If you have other infos please provide.

I've decided not to create an official announcement thread today. But I will answer some questions.

Quote
Who is the owner of the forum?

I've answered this before.

The forum was created by Satoshi and Sirius. Without any explicit agreement or assignment of ownership, it came to be the case that I am now chiefly responsible for forum management. The domain is owned by Sirius. I have no way of forcing him to do anything with it. (Though I recently did gain partial access so that I can change DNS records.) I control a lot of the forum's money. Sirius cannot force me to do anything with this. Various treasurers control other forum money; they're bound by the treasury agreements.

I am not a lawyer, so I can't say for sure who the forum's owner is legally-speaking, and this is irrelevant to me unless I'm dealing with legal stuff.

Like I said many times, they spread disinformation and also that verses are either mistranslated(possible mistranslation(low chance) or out of context verses. Some people quoted it here and I have replied what it is. Almost all of them were out of context verses and also it is for defense not for killing innocents.

Of course, Muslims rubber band the definition of "defense" to include just about anything they want to do, don't they?

All Palestinian bombings of innocent people are of course "Defense".

USA supports Israel, so it is the "Great Satan", so bombing USA is also good "Defense."

I am not saying Zakir makes these rationalizations but they are very commonly done in the Islamic world.

I understand what you are saying but there are rules for starting a war which obviously those terrorists aren't following and furthermore, they aren't following most rules at all.

1900  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Who are THEY? Are they Muslim? on: May 19, 2015, 12:38:03 PM
Sunnis are a branch of Islam that really isn't Islam at all. They simply hold to the name of Islam, recognize Muhammad, and follow a few of the Islamic rules loosely. The Sunni religion is about as free as they come. The do and worship whatever they think is spiritual.

True Islam is found in the Muslims who terrorize. That's why they do it. They are being religiously true to Islam. They are the pure Islamites. All this talk about Islam being a peaceful religion is only being done by people ignorant of Islam (even though they might be Muslims), or by liars. In a few cases Islam peace is being talked about by wishful thinkers.

Smiley

The funny thing here is if a "muslim" would be peaceful, will you think the contrary or not? I hope you understand what I wanted to say.

Of course there are peaceful Muslims. It is simply that they are not very much Muslim. They are quite ignorant of the religion that they claim to be part of. If they are strong Muslims according to the true Islam, then they are not peaceful to non-Muslims (except when they are lying to the non-Muslims), while they are peaceful to other Muslims.

It is like Christians who say they are Christians and ARE Christians. But they don't go to church except on Christmas and Easter. They almost NEVER read any of the Bible. And they hang out at the bars and nightclubs and whore houses, and curse and drink and swear. But they are still Christians.

Real Christians would never do any of these wrong things.

Smiley

I told you guys. BADecker always does this. He knows nothing, nothing about Islam. He just want to post big passages of lies to spread hatred and then conclude, "come to Christianity, the ultimate religion". I have no problem with Christians and BADecker is free to spread the religion he believe but he is contradicting his belief because Bible says not to lie and spread hatred/violence while spreading it. I am saying again, feel free to spread Christianity but don't tell lies.

Can't seem to find any Christian terrorists.    Huh

http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Christian_terrorism

Even in ISIS there are non-Muslims. The terrorists don't follow Islam and claim they are followers. Even non-Muslims in ISIS who knows nothing or very less about Islam claims they are Muslims or better to say, medias tell they are Muslims. Because of this, you shouldn't spread lies about Islam.

Lists of violence directives for Muslims, right out of the Quran: http://www.thereligionofpeace.com/quran/023-violence.htm.
