1721  Economy / Services / Re: [Crypto-MMM.com] Signature Campaign [Update your signature Now][CLOSED] on: May 29, 2015, 12:45:18 PM
Okay.

I can verify after logging into OP's account and checking through his PMs (with his permission of course) that a while ago he did have a PM exchange with the user CryptoMMMCom offering his services to manage/escrow the campaign. It looks legitimate and I don't see any real reason for him to have faked that, unless he had some mad anticipation skills. So - that checks out for me.

Obviously please use your due diligence. I refuse to make any rating on the OP's trustworthiness as an escrow agent, this post is simply from the stance of me trying to be neutral. He isn't - it appears at least - the owner of the site.

That's from me looking at the PMs. Please use your common sense, I take no responsibility for anything that happens beyond this but I will remove my negative rating from OP.
Thanks for checking my account.
Anyone who wanted to check my account for his own interest and have good rep here can ask me for the details.

I also checked account and it looks legitimate to me too.

I agree.

I suggest to use recommended fee instead if change amount as fee and as this is advanced software, please allow users to edit transaction fee. You can send change back to origin address like xDan told.

The problem is not everyone would be happy with the funds being sent back to their original address, also its possible to populate the "inputs" on a new transaction with funds from multiple addresses. There is a few things to think about, because I don't want to force users to do anything they don't want to. But a confirmation notice sounds ok..

Ok. As it is aimed on advanced users, shouldn't we be able to set custom fee? Currently, I can't do it. Please change it.

The transaction fee can be manipulated by adding another address, this can either be the address you populated the unspent funds from, or an entirely new address if you have privacy concerns.

Am I miss understanding something?

No, you understood correctly and I understood wrongly. Keep up the good work.

Btw, was this newly added? If yes, is there an archive to download older version? Thank you!

Why does it take a lot of time to view details? I tried getting all the transactions of an address using bitWallet and it was very faster. Can you optimize the spead please? I may have missed but how are you fetching details?

"what is not spent will be used as a transaction fee" - from the popup tip

pic related utterly scares me.

I haven't used the service, so I don't know if such a transaction would go through... But the fact it is even implied that it might is a very very scary thing and will keep me from using what otherwise looks like an excellent piece of software. Default to 100% of the value going to the transaction fee (if I don't put anything in the "amount" box) is crazy and might one day lose somebody all their coins.

A sane option might be giving a large red warning if the tx fee is larger than say 0.1% of the total value. Or not allowing it at all if it's over $1 worth or something.

If a change address is required, the user should be asked for it also with big warnings that it should be a safe, permanent address, not in a virtual machine or livecd etc (where people have lost large amounts in the past). A conservative approach to handling change is to send it right bank to the original address. Not quite as private, but better than losing money. (and still needs warnings to the user that the address/private keys they are sending from must be kept!)

I agree.

I suggest to use recommended fee instead if change amount as fee and as this is advanced software, please allow users to edit transaction fee. You can send change back to origin address like xDan told.
1729  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: Mixing Walets? Multiple platforms single client on: May 29, 2015, 11:48:08 AM
It is very unsecure to store large amount in Android.

Why? And as opposed to what?

Android is not secure enough AFAIK. It is better not to store Bitcoin in it. If you know what you are doing and how to handle, then you can use any OS but OP is a newbie, so I am not willing to suggest OP to store whole balance in an Android.

I suggest you to export all the addresses created in mobile to your PC but don't export addresses in PC to mobile.

Why?

He said

 - he don't want to loose his BTC.
 - he is a traveller.

Exporting addresses from Android to PC will secure those addresses even if the phone is lost(one of the concern of OP) and as I said, I don't think Android is secure enough to store whole balance. So vice versa, i.e. exporting addresses from PC to Android is not good.

Store small amount in mobile and bigger in PC.

Why? Malware which targets mobile devices is considerably less common than PC-based malware, and some mobile devices are currently invulnerable to bitcoin-stealing malware (those which cannot yet be easily rooted such as iOS 8.3, most boot-locked android phones running 5.0.2, etc.).

OP is using an Android phone. By mobile, I mean 'Android'. Sorry! I should have told earlier. There are some reasons. If you also consider practical problems additionally to technical problems, I don't think it is good to store whole balance in a mobile especially when you travel a lot.

If there is any mistake, please correct me. Thank you!
1730  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: Anonymous Debit Card just now! on: May 29, 2015, 11:21:17 AM
I ordered from them a card some time ago. It works so far and I don't have any problem with it. Card came about a week after and I could use it almost immediately. I can make bank transfer from my account and I receive it in two-three days, but when my friend transfer money to my card, the bank get fee, because he's got different than mine.

Uh! Please don't. Lips sealed Doing this will only ruin your reputation. Please do as I said. Give a card to a trusted user and let him/her check the card and he can pay $30 if it is working fine.
1731  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: [ANN] BIT-X.com | Bitcoin Debit Card | Spend Your Bitcoins Anywhere! on: May 29, 2015, 11:15:29 AM
What about the people who don't have to pay the conversion fee? For them it will be like 6%. And for me 6% atm withdrawal fee is completely legit because I've many times sold my bitcoins for cash to local buyers and they pay approx. 10% less to the current market rate. And ATM is giving you cash whenever you like wherever you want, so 6%-9% of fee for ATM withdrawals is good enough. The only thing that pains me is the inactivity fee, its like its my card now, and after activating it why am I being pushed to use it 5 times a week??

It's 5 times a month. Smiley

Can you decrease it to 2 or 3 times a month or decrease inactivity fee from 0.05BTC to 0.02BTC or so?
1732  Other / Meta / Re: 503 Service Temporarily Unavailable nginx on: May 29, 2015, 11:04:04 AM
I got this error yesterday. First it appeared as a Database Error and then a blank page with the 503 error loaded. It's working too slow after the hack and pages take more than 30 seconds to load.

I had this problem day before yesterday and I was inactive yesterday but today it is fast for me. Pages loads in a few seconds.
1733  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: Mixing Walets? Multiple platforms single client on: May 29, 2015, 10:25:25 AM
Yes, you can have same Bitcoin address in all 3 platforms. It is very unsecure to store large amount in Android. So why don't you split BTC into few addresses? I suggest you to export all the addresses created in mobile to your PC but don't export addresses in PC to mobile. Store small amount in mobile and bigger in PC.

Let me explain something to you about BTCjam and how I got to my A rating.
You have to go through quite a bit of verification...
like:
Identity Verification - Includes my drivers licence and my face holding my licence.
Address Verification - Includes my current address from within the last 3 months.
Phone Verification - Pretty obvious this one
Income Verification - Nice one this, they know my Salary, my last 3 payslips... Also they have my Credit rating score...
I have also linked:
linkedin
facebook
google
twitter
& paypal
Online Wallets - I have linked my Coinbase wallet to BTCjam
Bank Verification - Another interesting one, I have actually linked my credit card to BTCjam...

With all the above verification this is collateral enough for people to make up their own minds.

Can you give me a link to a site or a place where we can sell that collateral legally or to a non-criminal organization?

If I wanted to drop and run, how would I when they have my ADDRESS, PHONE NUMBER, BANK DETAILS, MY EMPLOYMENT

Tell me Vod, do you really think I could would want to take 7.5btc (now 2btc) and run? & not think people would know who I was and what my deal was?
If the above isnt collateral enough not much would be for you unfortunately.
And yes I am taking this personally, as what I do on BTCjam has NOTHING to do with you.

All these can be faked very easily. Even if it is real, it will be hard to retrieve money especially if both lender and borrower is living far away from each other.

Thank you for the replies. As I said, exposing their scams(if any) is fine and I have no problem but Bicknellski is hijacking most threads IMHO. Maybe, the way I understood about thread-hijacking is wrong.
1736  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Palmyra presents a new twist: First Syrian city the group has taken from Government on: May 29, 2015, 09:51:04 AM
Are they going to blow all the ancient heritage? Which is not muslim culture? Heard they have killed 4000 people there. Whta to expect?

I certainly can't answer these. We will have to wait what they say/do. I think their real aim is to gain power rather than destroying non-Islamic cultures. I don't know how many more people will fall in their hands. Sad

[cemter]ISIS Alternates Stick and Carrot to Control Palmyra[/center]

Civilians looked out into their neighborhood in Palmyra, Syria, on May 18, the day after ISIS fired rockets into the city.

BEIRUT, Lebanon — Hours after they swept into the Syrian city of Palmyra last week, Islamic State militants carried out scores of summary executions, leaving the bodies of victims — including dozens of government soldiers — in the streets.

Then, residents say, they set about acting like municipal functionaries. They fixed the power plant, turned on the water pumps, held meetings with local leaders, opened the city’s lone bakery and started distributing free bread. They planted their flag atop Palmyra’s storied ancient ruins, and did not immediately loot and destroy them, as they have done at other archaeological sites.

Next came dozens of Syrian government airstrikes, some killing civilians. That gave the Islamic State a political assist: Within days, some residents had redirected the immediate focus of their anger and fear from the militants on the ground to the warplanes overhead.

In Palmyra, the Islamic State group appears to be digging into power in a series of steps it has honed over two years of accumulating territory in Iraq and Syria.

Graphic | Syria After Four Years of Mayhem A look at the conflict that has dismembered Syria and inflamed the region with one of the world’s worst religious and sectarian wars.
But Palmyra presents a new twist: It is the first Syrian city the group has taken from the government, not from insurgents. In Raqqa, farther north, and in Iraq, the group has moved quickly and harshly against anyone perceived as a rival.

The Islamic State alternates between terrorizing residents and courting them. It takes over institutions. And it seeks to co-opt opposition to the government, painting itself as the champion of the people — or at least, the Sunnis — against oppressive central authorities.

That method has helped the group entrench itself in the cities of Raqqa, Syria, and Mosul, Iraq, and is now unfolding in Palmyra.

The Palmyra takeover was detailed by half a dozen residents of the city, including supporters and opponents of the government, via phone or electronic messaging. All asked not to be fully identified, to avoid reprisals from the government or from the Islamic State, also known as ISIS, ISIL or Daesh. Most cast themselves as caught between the threats of government airstrikes and ISIS beheadings or other killings.

On Wednesday, for example, several residents reported that the Islamic State had killed 20 army soldiers in an ancient amphitheater. Others recalled seeing the bodies of soldiers burned alive or beheaded by militants.

“They slaughtered many,” a cafe owner exclaimed about ISIS, then switched to the subject of air raids that he would later blame for the deaths of several friends: “God knows what they’re bombing, it’s so scary!”

Well all leveles are inspired on each section of this forum. The difficulty of each one will depend on how many spammers and scammers are there, for instance the gambling level will be somewhat hard but the investor based games level would be way harder because of the amount of scammers there Cheesy

Fully action based or does it contain logical/intelligence based levels?

@OP: Can you add "open source" to open source projects and link to their repository? It certainly helps people. Thank you!

Very interesting. I have to admit I do prefer ledger to trezor BÜT trezor do have more functions.

Only screen, right?

I agree with Open Source.. Its very important.

What do you mean 'only Screen'??

Trezor have a screen to display and I forgot about buttons. That two things are the only more functions, right? I don't see much advantage in that TBH.
More wallets support it and multiple coins, i haven't seen ledger support any other coins than Bitcoin. I know Trezor does Dash and Litecoin.

Ledger HW1 does support altcoins and as Ledger nano is based on HW1 firmware, it also supports altcoins.

It should take at least 2 weeks to delete an account after user clicks deletion button so that owner can undo it if it was done by a hacker.
