Well this is a crazy and a false accusement.  Tongue

You should be concerned about the operators of the CKPool in which case, one of whom made an egregiously false statement about Bitcoin development because he was bored or emotional one Saturday afternoon.

What do you think someone that fickle and highly strung might do with your balance of BTC held at this pool?
You are calling Kano unreliable for fucking zero reasons, payouts have always come in time and in the way that has been told us.
I can't see how you are here now "helping" us miners.
3363  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [30+PH] Kano CKPool kano.is 0.9% PPLNS US,DE,SG,JP,NL on: November 27, 2016, 07:46:10 PM
Incidentally, if anyone ever gets into a dispute with Kano and/or CKolivas on Bitcointalk, and the following users appear in the thread to uncritically back every word that Kano/CK says:

....then don't worry. The fact that they're behaving as if they literally are Kano and CK arguing for themselves, probably means that these are the sock puppet accounts that Kano and CK used to kick this thread off, so that it didn't look like a graveyard to miners shopping for pools.

Gentlemen, stick to computer/hardware programming. Your internet bullying abilities leave much to be desired.
Well this is a crazy and a false accusement.  Tongue

3365  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Bitmain's Released Antminer S9, World's First 16nm Miner Ready to Order on: November 27, 2016, 04:51:02 PM
Incase anyone was wondering. The S9 can be made quieter if you want to underclock it. I've got mine running at 200m pulling 430w at the wall getting 4.2Th and it's nicely located under my desk.
Yeah, I'm running one of mine S9's at 9.8Th/s (456.25 Mhz) with a bearable noise level.
I use it with the Enermax Revolution 87+ 1000W PSU.
I use a manual fan setting.

How is heat at that speed?
The miner temperatures depend on the fan setting and your hosting conditions.
I can't give you an "universal answer" that would work in any situation.

I could however describe it as "a 1kW radiator."

At the moment I can see ~60C PCB temps for the miner.

3367  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: WTB S9 Front Fan 120x38mm 4pin on: November 26, 2016, 04:00:44 PM
There is a good amount of different kind of fans available, so why bother.  Wink
3368  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: WTB S9 Front Fan 120x38mm 4pin on: November 26, 2016, 03:56:23 PM
So the ones that come with the Antminers aren't special ones then? They are just generic delta fans?
Yes. The front fan is Delta QFR1212GHE and the rear fan is a 4300rpm fan manufactured by JSL a.k.a Shenzhen Jiangshanlai Electronic Technology Co., Ltd.

edit:
edited JSL company name to a precise name format

3370  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Embrace it or not on: November 25, 2016, 11:14:31 PM
might be a good idea to mine bitcoin or to buy some GPUs (whose price doesn't change so much during month) and start mining other cryptocurrencies ? that was my dillemma. Is there any other good producer except Antminer ?
https://canaan.io/shop/
Canaan Creative.
Their newest miner is AvalonMiner 721.
You need AvalonMiner 721, controller (Raspberry Pi) and a power supply.

Old thread I know,
but you can't underclock an S9, so drop that idea right now.
Yeah. I'm running my S9, batch 2 at ~9.8Th/s (456.25Mhz frequency) with 1000W Enermax Revolution 87+ power supply.
Yes but the new batches, 12 and on I believe, are autotune. You can't adjust the Frequency, so you can't step them down a bit to come under power requirements.
The new 11th ones would likely be okay on 1300watts. but the 14th model I have, from the latest batch, pulls 1425 at the wall. No way to bring it down to squeak it onto a 1300watt psu.
Yeah sorry I have read this with sleepy eyes and have had a brain fart.
New batches suck because of the autotune settings.

If possible I would recommend buying the older batches.

I wonder if Avalon would consider donating another few free miners for a giveaway again. I bet they can afford it and it might be nice to get a few more people back on this pool.

I wish they could also lower the price by even $100 per unit because at the current price Im not sure who will be buying any. Its just a little bit too expensive to make sense for me, as always. Maybe they will lower the price soon.

If they lowered the price and accepted BTC for payment, then I'd buy one too.
Apparently they do accept BTC payment after all.
They charge $25 to use BTC as a payment method.

3374  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: S9 investment? on: November 23, 2016, 12:14:44 AM
Just make sure you don't buy the new crappy autotune frequency models, which leaves you with used ones..
3375  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Avalon 7 on: November 22, 2016, 08:40:33 PM
I'm confused. What is with this "The shop is new" talk? Does this have something to do with Canaan's acquisition a few months ago? The company has been on and off the asic production scene for a long time; Avalon 6's were not difficult to get a hold of. So what's going on?

I am still efforting to get payment other then bank.  I guess this is all about the new ownership.
Canaan Creative did not accept the deal, they were not bought by other company.

New autotune frequency models are awful  Tongue
I would never buy them.

There is no way to touch frequency or fan settings in those (which is the main thing why they suck).
You can try different autotune firmwares (from different date) and see if it works better.
People here at forum have shared them, in this thread as well if I recall it right.

The non-autotune firmwares don't work on the autotune models.

why miners not joining to this pool much? as i see this pool is more profitable compared to any other large pools.  Huh Huh Huh Huh Huh

That is a very good question. It IS more profitable than most -if not all - of the medium to large mining pools. That question can only be answered by those who mine somewhere else.

Perhaps they would rather have the glitz and glam of a flashy web interface with slick graphics that finds less blocks than have a sturdy pool that finds and processes blocks more quickly and efficiently than other pools.

Or perhaps they just don't know any better or have no idea what they are doing...?

For me? Screw the fancy graphics give me performance. It's about earning money, not about eye-candy.
Many miners don't know what they are doing and just point their miners in Antpool, for example.
This is a big problem and stupid IMO, also in the sense of decentralization.
