3341  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: [Speculative] EBang 14nm 6.3T (140W/T) BTC Miner for sale soon on: December 05, 2016, 09:05:19 AM
If this is a legit miner then it is a serious competitor for the A721 since it is close with the efficiency and little cheaper (no need to buy a Pi, apparently).
3342  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Bitmain's Released Antminer S9, World's First 16nm Miner Ready to Order on: December 04, 2016, 05:23:21 PM
So far no one hasn't come with any other solution than trying different firmware versions with those autotune frequency models.  Undecided
I don't have a autotune freq model, so I don't know much more about it.

Anyone who gets an A7, I would suggest a change on the advanced web configuration page:
More Options: --avalon7-nonce-mask 26
It should speed up the hash rate ramp up.

Ok done applying.

Only the above left. How do I apply it?
In the pool configuration view you should see a blank field "More options".
Insert --avalon7-nonce-mask 26
in that field.

Yeah boy!! My order is now updated and it is paid, unshipped and validCool
3345  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Bitmain Announces the Antminer R4 and APW5 Power Supply, Designed for Silence on: December 03, 2016, 10:11:46 AM

Well I will jump back to 45th.

Follow up my order is now marked expired due to a 228 minute wait for a confirm.
Hopefully they will fix this soon.

Anyone else this has happened to just make sure you email them.
Yeah I sent them e-mail immediately after I noticed that is was about 50 minutes without confirmation.
It took a total of 486 minutes a.k.a. about 8 hours (!) for my payment to get confirmed.
I did make the payment two minutes after making the order, so I hope Bitmain will keep my order valid after all.
I got the "BITMAIN order paid" e-mail but the order is still as "paid, unshipped, expired" in "my orders".

Got my 8 units of A7 Grin

Will fire 6 units later since I am waiting for Optimisers Boards.

I have a question, the controller does not include a power cable?? Because mine did not come with it Huh

Which is it?
I presume you mean the RPi but what version?
(I have a collection of ... 6 ... original RPi at home so I use them)

Don't RPi have microusb ports so use mobile phone chargers?
Yes, from the wall (100-240VAC) to --> 5VDC micro usb USB wall wart and a USB male to micro usb male cable (if no cable is included with the wall wart).
The specifications must say 5 VDC and at least 1.0A current (4.0W is the highest consumption among the Pi models).

edit: I fixed few words

I have the same problem as you Phil with getting the high priority payment confirmed. Undecided
I wonder if it has been a large scale problem lately among the BTC users.
3348  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Bitmain Announces the Antminer R4 and APW5 Power Supply, Designed for Silence on: December 02, 2016, 04:39:03 PM
Now it is for sale again, most likely some orders expired or something.
I'm little worried since my payment has not confirmed yet.  Undecided
I answer to myself  Cheesy
Bitmain does say in the e-mail that "If your payment is submitted on time but receipt is delayed, we will confirm the payment and then update the order to "Valid" ".

So I hope I'm still all good.

Any info on how to import those to EU without paying VAT and customs fee ? (can double the price of HW in my country...)

You can try www.eastshore.xyz who sell bitmain gear. HagssFIN has bought three from them and they declare customs value at $90 so save on some fees.

Or buy from a member on here and ask to declare less value. Otherwise as you say you'll be stung massively for customs duty etc. I'm from the UK so looked into it a fair bit.
I have bought
-1x S9 from Bitmain
-2x S9 from Eastshore
-1x S9 from user BtcCrazy1

I'm really looking forward to this second batch of R4 and I might buy one if the price is reasonable.

Yeah it's no point to change a pool because of one or few bad luck blocks.
Expected luck is always 100% and this pool is usually a bit over that.

3357  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: Canaan Avalon A7 Group Buy - Hosting at CryptoBoreas (Canada) on: November 28, 2016, 09:57:35 PM
They all claim they doesn't want centralization.

This is clearly pure bullshit now.

We have Bitmain selling us the S9, which is a piece of crap. Either you're lucky or not with your gear. 90 days warranty = LOL

Then we had hope with Canaan to give us a very reputable solid miner even for a premium price i would be buying them over the S9.

But it's way overprice and less efficient. We are hoping that a group by would have put the price down to something more acceptable (Like freaking 365 days of ROI)

But no, buy 1000 units and we will talk.

Bitcoin is all about centralization now

Bitfury doesn't even gave us a freaking chip like 6 months after they mine with it. They were so proud to tell us they would share it to the public.

I'm pissed off.
Bitfury and more precisely Punin is actually working together with sidehack (see his thread) and will provide chips for him.
This is a sure thing that I know.

Now two not so sure things are:
Bitfury providing chips for asiabtc's a.k.a. LightningAsic's new 16nm miner.
Bitfury providing chip for en.hotmine.io S1/S3/S5 re-fit boards.

Anyway it seems like Bitfury is the only company who is putting a little effort in to the decentralization.

I'm sorry to hear that things went like this with Canaan  Undecided

Donation sent. I got lucky here as well in the past.
I'd like to thank you and Kano for all the work you have done for BTC mining in both cgminer and ckpool area.  Smiley

PM'd

Asked pics of thease setting and shipping costs to Finland.
Can anyone tell about noise thease PSU's makes? Which is suitable to home mining?
HP DPS-1200 would be suitable for home mining.

You are calling Kano unreliable for fucking zero reasons, payouts have always came in time and just in the way that's been told us.
I can't see how you are here now "helping" us miners.

Kano is reliable: reliably unpredictable.

He's a psychologically damaged man-child, constantly seeking the attention and the approval he was likely deprived of growing up, and all too willing to behave in an apallingly anti-social manner in order to soothe his miniature ego.

Trusting a supposed adult that can't clean that act up with your money is not sensible, he's too temperamental to be running any kind of asset trust.
Not true. He is a very helpful and trustworthy pool operator.
And the pool is great.
You can't say the same about Antpool or F2pool for example.
