2641  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Re: Official CGMINER thread - CPU/GPU miner in C for linux/windows/osx on: July 30, 2011, 05:19:11 PM
Hello, I have to say I love CGMINER it gets 4mh/s more on my 6950 than any config of GUIminer does. Im using windows.

I am trying to set it up on my other PC which has no opencl compatible device. GUIminer has no issue mining on the cpu but when start CGMINER it says no devices found and no matter what cpu flags I throw at it, it refuses to run...any ideas?
Says "Error getting devices IDs (num)"

buy a kill-a-watt and figure it out =P

See if its worth it to do the extra voltage for the little more mh/s

Hi, I am looking for a PPS type pool too, right now  Im on eclipseMC and they offer paypal cashouts....which I love, seems to be the only pool offering this...but love the payment system you have here at bitpit...

Are you considering any sort of paypal cashout option or  would you consider?

Curious is your iphone / android dealio an actual app or is it a webpage frontend?

If its an app, have any plan to make a webos app? =)
2645  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Do not over-volt your video cards... Here is why. on: July 29, 2011, 04:04:52 PM

Now, one more thing is that my video cards are water cooled, which means they will run much cooler than air, and cooler power components use much less power than hot ones. So if you are on air cooling your power usage from overclocking/over volting could be much higher.

I dont know if this is entirely true...I thought components use the same amount of power no matter what temperature they are at...

yeah, we are getting owned this round...my reward will have gone down quite a bit and seems our luck aint improving cuz of more miners....grr, hope that changes soon!
2647  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Re: Best miner in windows for 6950.... on: July 28, 2011, 08:50:04 PM
I think the only way you can get higher is to use the shader unlock mod which my non-reference sapphire can't use.  I have read some of these 6950's will OC to 1000mhz but to me doesnt seem like the risk is worth the reward to OC that much.
What risk? If you can keep the card cool enough, and it runs stable, what am I missing?

If you have to balance your power consumption...these cards could potentially eat way more power when starting to modify the voltage than whats worth in mh/s output.

Also, thanks guys...so Im runnin a pretty good hashrate for my card clock and configuration?

Nice little run!

If your talkin about our luck lately...yes! I hope to get more short burst ones and our GH/s is growing too!
I dread the day+ ones...lol

Now, I just wonder if the exchange rates are gonna go back up =/
2649  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Best miner in windows for 6950.... on: July 28, 2011, 07:21:37 PM
I see many here using phoenix, and a bunch of the other ones but the one that has worked best for my 6950 is GUIminer w/ these settings:
New Miner -> OpenCL -> parameters: -v -w128 f1

My card cant be unlocked and I have the core OC'd to 890, default voltage. RAM is at 150mhz.

It produces around 363mh/sec

Ive tried phoenix, w/ the different kernels but it gets nowhere near that many mh/s on my card.

Im running the 11.7 preview drivers for now.

Please post any other miners I should try and the parameters.
Thanks

Little update here:

There was an error with acquiring the exchange rate, please try again later.

Still getting the above when doing a paypal transaction, although it goes through just fine...

Are you looking for new or used cards, maybe you mentioned it but I didn't see that...

Oh either way, as long as they work =)...prefer some sort of warranty but if not thats ok too!

Or try using ati tray tools, it works wonders!
2659  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: heads up: HD6xxx memory does NOT actually underclock on: July 27, 2011, 06:45:33 PM
I have a Asus 6950 DC2 1GB and I noticed the memory doesnt under clock correctly when trying to use programs such as afterburner and so forth. But ati tray tools allows me to take the memory all the way down to 150mhz or lower...and confirmed it w/ gpuz sensors and power usage substantially dropped.
