Yifu's speaking at bitcoin 2013 in a week. We could lay out the welcome mat for him...

Hopefully it will be news on batch 2 =P .. but highly doubt it, prolly just more bitcoin propoganda along w/ how great these somewhat non existent asics are...
1924  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Avalon batch [2] countdown! on: May 07, 2013, 10:52:25 PM
The main thing to be concerned about is pretty much what the difficulty will look like when they finally do get around to shipping. But, just for being angry at them just cuz they are late, and diff isnt skyrocketing *yet* .. is kinda crappy.
I must admit Im dissapointed and annoyed but, not freakin angry and in arms about it. BFL still hasnt gotten a huge part of their orders out and wont for a month+ .. diff is slowly climbing, its not skyrocketing yet.

When I ran some quick projections when I was contemplating to even buy into batch 2 .. I think I projected diff to be at 15-20mil range... so far it looks on track for that, its no big deal. If diff hits 50mil and we are without our units tho, then its an entirely different story =(
1925  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: PowerColor 7870 Myst Edition Tahiti LE 511MH/s 72C on: May 07, 2013, 09:45:42 PM
I just ordered 2 7870 EZ powercolors ... hope to get 500mh out of them... from the looks of it looks like OC'n will be a bitch =(

getting 500mh/s is doable as long as you have good ventilation.

If you do a 2 card setup with the powercolor, its gonna need massive cooling to stay above 500mh/s.   They get very hot when right by each other.

I wanted to say I got Sapphire and Powercolor 7950s, I got powercolor 7870xt.

The Sapphire runs easily 10C  10-15% cooler than the powercolor.
Major difference when it comes to OC'ing and maximizing hashing.

Well, ventilation & cooling arent the problem. Seems like this clock configuration stuff is... =P

WHAT PSU is it? like model / manufacturer?
If its a cheap PSU, expect your rig to blow up in ur face
If its a 250$ + PSU, then yes it should be ok.
1931  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: [1 BTC BOUNTY CLAIMED!] Get 6 radeon 7970 installing and mining in Windows on: May 07, 2013, 12:33:22 AM
Interesting =) .. ha well win8 was most of the answer =P
next time Ill just say "upgrade to MS's latest shitty OS!" and a few other things n ur good to go =)

I swear tho serious, these GPU count caps need to be fuckin lifted and done away with.
1932  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: [WTS-US] 6950 GPU, 500w and 600w PSU, ASRock Z77 extreme4 motherboard on: May 07, 2013, 12:18:59 AM
That asrock board is sweet sauce! ... absolutely amazing in my i5 3570k gaming build =)

Yeah it's really great.  I got a 3570k as well  Cheesy

nice!, yeah, I love they still put 775 mounting holes on their boards. I have a scythe mugen 2, purchased during the 1366 era and of course 1155 wasnt out then. The cooler is really nice, but didnt wanna pay 20+ to get the appropriate adapter for it on a 1156/1155 board =P
I got the 3570k humming along @ 4.3ghz 1.15v power features turned on...the board runs it perfectly!

2x 7850 (2048 stream processors)  = 1x 7970 (2048 stream processors)

but it's a hell of a lot cheaper!  Wink
yeah bout 100-150$ cheaper...not bad...
1935  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: [1 BTC BOUNTY CLAIMED!] Get 6 radeon 7970 installing and mining in Windows on: May 06, 2013, 11:26:41 PM
I'm really tempted to sell the solution now, since I -did- spend $117 in BTC for it. Would be nice to get some (or all) of that back. Tongue

lol of course, after you said u would share it.... geez
Hell, it was probably as simple as "use windows 8" - done.
1936  Economy / Computer hardware / WTS: 1x 5850 only now ... on: May 06, 2013, 08:41:20 PM
UPDATE: sorry guys I gotta keep everything now cept the unidenditified 5850. Deal fell through - so will wait till my avy comes in and hope these cards survive =P

1x 5850(not sure of OEM) - Bought from same person locally, it works, the fan is in ok shape - its been making a slight humming noise at various RPM's ... been running this way for quite some time, fan does not show any signs of degredation due to this, the hum characteristics have been the same since Ive had the card. Therefore havent bothered w/ replacing the fan. I have been running it in the same condition as the above card. Same clocks / voltages etc and it has never been run too hot. - 150$

Will accept payment in BTC @ exchange rate of my exchange source of choosing.
All cards will be shipped insured w/ tracking
Prices include shipping to CONUS
All prices are OBO
Please PM or post if interested =)

1x Sapphire 5850 - Bought from someone locally, it works good, the fan is in good shape, its never been ran too hot. I never ran it overvolted, ran less volts than stock and slightly OC'd. I kept it humming along @ 330mh/s - $160

1x Sapphire 5830(2nd gen? non reference) - Bought from someone in nearly new shape - he used it a month or 2 for gaming before upgrading. Came w/ box & accessories etc... It has never been run too hot since Ive been mining w/ it. Ive kept it undervolted w/ a slight OC. It sits at about 260-270mh - 130$

UPDATE - ADDED:
1x Powercolor 7870 tahiti LE - just purchased on 5.6.13, have box & accessories. Mined on for a few days - works great. - 225$

1x ASUS DCII 6950 1GB - this has been my gaming rig card. Its not been mined on, just play games when Im at the PC. Ive attempted shader unlock but looks like this is one that is laser fused locked. Think I have box & accessories somewhere - 165$

Before shipping them out, I will use air compressor & blow out the fan / HSF as well as I can w/o taking the cards apart.
All cards mine LTC fine, no issues .. so their frame buffers are in good shape.
[/s]

well, sadly all we can do is whine & complain...and ultimately just wait =(
1940  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: Monday of the 2nd week of May is past Avalon on: May 06, 2013, 06:10:28 PM
yeahp, kevinm is right =P...so hold ur pants for the rest of this week before crying. I hate the wait too =(
And the 20 that went out two weeks ago?   How come no one will own up to receiving any of the 20 that were 'sent out to test the new shipping method'?

That I cannot answer, but perhaps maybe there were all people in china that dont visit these forums =P
