2541  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Newer variant of Catalyst (8.892)11.9 out(might fix 100 % CPU bug). on: September 30, 2011, 07:02:27 PM
With 11.9, I can verify that at least w/ one GPU...the 100% mining bug is GONE! yes! FINALLY.
Bet that saves me a few watts =)

Im runnin Vista 32bit, i3 550 @ 4ghz 1.175v, HD6950 1GB @ 890core 150mem

No change in mhash(373mh/s) from previous 11.8 version! yay!

When the fan is set to auto adjust speed in cgminer ...whenever it issues the fan change speed windows UI becomes extremely laggy, is there any way to prevent this? Thanks

running it on windows here too (xp, vista and 7) and no increase in screen lag when it changes fan speed.

what card and settings?

HD 6950 890mhz / 150mhz stock voltage.
Vista 32 , 11.8 drivers.

Thats all I can think of...

This should be renamed to IOUcoin....

I'm guessing "--altslicesize" has a part in this, but I don't understand what a "slice" is, is it shares?

(The more I add to this post, the more confusing it gets, so I will just press "Post" now)  Huh

A slice is simply a amount of time allotted to mining on a given pool, so its slices time, keeps track of slices and uses that to switch between 2 eligible pools
2549  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Re: bitHopper: Python Pool Hopper Proxy on: August 15, 2011, 06:56:47 PM
Actually, the manual correction is probably not only different for every miner out there based on their location, but also depends on how many other workers are currently connected to the various pools. It's probably a very unreliable method to determine a block finder.

Maybe it's possible to hook into bitcoind and see in which order connected nodes send the new block information. There might be patterns, but I suspect they are not very constant and need to be re-learned often. The learning would probably take a few hours at the begin of every session to recognize patterns of deepbit, BTC guild, and other pools, if there is any difference.

Off subject here but...um dude your name confused the hell outta me when I first saw it. I was like "I didnt make that post...WTF?!?!"   oh, his name is missing the r...haha
2550  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Re: bitHopper: Python Pool Hopper Proxy on: August 09, 2011, 11:28:03 PM
With old default... will it switch off deepbit if slush finds a new block and has less shares... till slush reaches the 11% target?
2551  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Re: bitHopper: Python Pool Hopper Proxy on: August 09, 2011, 11:03:15 PM
OldDefault selects the pool with the least shares

When i use old default i like to use the penalty system.. I set my slowest pools at 2.. medium pools 1.25-1.75 and fast pools at 1.. works well for me so far.

Ah, that sounds like a good strategy
2552  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Re: bitHopper: Python Pool Hopper Proxy on: August 09, 2011, 10:48:22 PM
both mtred and slush just had some really nice rounds =) that on top of deepbit....yummy, makes my measly 366mh/s look beastly =P
2553  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Re: bitHopper: Python Pool Hopper Proxy on: August 09, 2011, 09:18:33 PM
Just wanna make sure mines still workin right but deepbit is showing upwards 243% and hasnt been a LP for it in a while...
2554  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Re: bitHopper: Python Pool Hopper Proxy on: August 09, 2011, 08:55:44 PM
So, I know I asked this before but still confused...what do I put on that editable payout line? what payout exactly? Do I keep updating it, seems like it would be a pain....
2555  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Re: bitHopper: Python Pool Hopper Proxy on: August 09, 2011, 08:31:36 PM
2950Mhash/s - threshold 60 - penalty 2.5 (leave Deepbit at 25%)

09.08 21:24:43 0h 06m   158 507188   0.01510880
09.08 21:18:09 0h 37m   906 2896527   0.01517024

Whats diff between threshold and penalty then? If I want to leave deepbit at 25% cant I just set penalty to like 2 or something?
2556  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Re: bitHopper: Python Pool Hopper Proxy on: August 09, 2011, 08:21:07 PM
Need slush to take priority over all other pools including deepbit .. I just manually had to disable deepbit, because it stole from slush at 3% ... luckily, I was quick enouigh to catch slush's amazingly fast 3minute block =).
This change needs to be made to default scheduler ASAP!
2557  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Re: bitHopper: Python Pool Hopper Proxy on: August 09, 2011, 08:05:20 PM
So, Im curious, since deepbit will be mined a majority of the time w/ BH...what is the importance of the other pools? Should, we stick w/ mining deepbit even when another pool got a fresh round? Or should we slice between all eligible pools? hrm.....
2558  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Re: bitHopper: Python Pool Hopper Proxy on: August 09, 2011, 07:54:18 PM
Im confused....dont we need more pools set to info to be able to tell who requested the first LP?

I have nearly all pools set to info, currently mine: triplemining, rcfpool, ozco, mtred, bitcoinpool, bitcoinmonkey, slush (mine_slush), deepbit (mine_deepbit) and BTCguild (mine_deepbit)

I am using bitpit as my backup

All other pools w/ valid stats (afaik) are set to info.
2559  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Re: bitHopper: Python Pool Hopper Proxy on: August 09, 2011, 07:34:07 PM
@gentarkin / HOW DOES IT WORK
We assume if the LP response from deepbit is first then deepbit owns it. We actually reset the owner to take into account if another pool drops but currently we don't reset deepbits starts due to that.

It looks like efficiency is good. Parai got about 168% and magnet got about 559% efficiency. I just did the calculations for you guys.

EDIT:However I haven't actually gotten my server to mine on deepbit. Only my dev machine. So there may still be errors.

But, I hardly ever see the "owned by" stat in the window = deepbit. Its usually someone else. But it still switches to mine deepbit in that case anyways.
2560  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Re: bitHopper: Python Pool Hopper Proxy on: August 09, 2011, 07:27:02 PM
So, I got a question...are we just assuming when a LP is thrown...deepbit owns it and we are hopping to it regardless(cuz they are so huge)? Cuz it seems w/ every LP event, it mines deepbit.
