yes that is common sense. however that doesn't mean 2 machines doesn't mine double the coins 1 does (or close to it)
True 1 -> 2 machines is a substantial increase... But as you get more and more machines, adding one additional shrinks that additional machines income proportionally Imagine if you had a farm of 10 machines, adding one more is only a 10% increase If you wanted the same ratio as going from 1 -> 2 ... it would be 10 more machines to the 10 that already exist.

Hello all, Just want to let yall know about the fact that as of today we are officially taking Bitcoin in the store as payment in POS manner. We have been in business for 13+ years. We are located : 5118 SE Powell Blvd, Portland OR, USA, 97206
Its not integrated w/ our website yet because its a mess =P , but Im sure if yall wanted to order over the phone / email via bitcoin that could be done as well.
So, if you live near there or know people around there that need computer parts / computers / computer repair / networking or managed services come on down =)
Also, anyone know who can be contacted about being added to the wiki list of bitcoin businesses and like services / websites?
Thanks!!!

this is seriously becoming some BS. Diff slated to hit 20m next time around, batch 2 preorder owners are getting fucked every single day that passes. WTF is holding them up?!?!?

this is one sweet ass article!
|
|
|
good to see they are still paying out, I have shares saved up still, that I havent used...looks like the time to have to use them is fast approaching given the rate of diff increase =(

they are relevant as long as you can turn a profit from them over power. They can always be sold for nearly what you paid, given they are 7xxx series...gamers will always eat em up.
Do you think there will still be a market for resale to gamers when AMD releases the 9xxx series later this year (they are skipping 8xxx)? It is not officially announced by AMD, but seems to be widely reported that its coming in late 2013. http://www.mcvuk.com/news/read/amd-confirms-new-volcanic-island-gpus-for-2013-launch/0115398Yeah, I would think so... it may be at a lower price point, but our GPU's , I would highly doubt will be useful in mining till that time(9xxx)...so most likely the 7xxx from miners would hit months before any new product comes out. Worse case is one can only get 50-60% what they paid for a 7xxx GPU when done mining...but as long as your mining made up for the rest of it and had a little profit in addition then its still worth it.

15 million difficulty next.. damn. O;
We have an ASIC company that does not ship, one that barely ships, and one that ships but charges an exorbitant fee, and one that we don't really know about. I wish we have an ASIC company that actually ships on time, and does not charge an arm and a leg. Nope, it's too much to ask for. :/ I'm wary KNC might not deliver and be BFL 2.0.. Gah.
just imagine, if what you hoped for came true, diff would even be higher =P

lol...wait you physically hit the card?!

As I said in another thread, my 5870 finally gave up yesterday. It was an old, used Powercolor I got cheap off eBay. I had to replace the TIM on it when I got it, as the person who owned it before had used some crap "silver" compound that basically ran off when it was heated.
After about 4 months of solid mining, I noticed the temp going up to 92C. Checked the video output and it was suffering massive corruption. Recleaned the TIM, made sure everything was 100%, but it still went to 92C almost instantly. When cgminer stopped mining, temps dropped quickly, proving the heat sink was working OK.
Wow! now, Ive never seen that type of behaviour when a GPU / video card "dies" .. that suxxors! As of a few months ago, I managed to get that severely damaged GPU workin somewhat reliably again on the 5970 - I lowered the threads count in cgminer to 1 and that GPU now only gets HW errors 10% of the time on avg rather than 50% of the time(think cuz its using slightly less RAM on one thread) Also, my other 5970 which I thought still had good RAM is getting faulty now, had to lower its RAM from 300mhz after 2 years of mining down to 200mhz to prevent getting HW errors =( on one of its GPU's... So, the official failure rate for my 5970's - 100% and these are on temps that are way more than acceptable(VRMs consistently below 90C, all other temps below 70c) NEVER overvolted, always undervolted GPU. As for my 5800's - in my period of owning they have not deteriorated at all.

Wow, guys, I have to say Im impressed w/ your mature & heartfelt responses reguarding his wife. Totally not what someone would expect from a community of 'hackers & geeks & nteen year olds' =P Way to go =) I gotta be honest, I would get pretty upset, try not to let it out on the wife as much as possible, but I would none the less get upset at the situation =(
|
|
|
can get a better picture of what to expect outta the unit w/ ... http://www.coinish.com/calc/for example: @ 1.3% diff increase / day, delivery a month out, given market rate stays same - only expect about $16k gross....

maybe its avalon over testing all our batch 2's , then selling them to us used =(

|
|
isnt this chain game just like the gem games n stuff that were popular months ago?

ok, this is just a fuckin cool idea =) .. love it!

You gotta get the CPU power so you can do those algorithms... To get a bitcoin. Well, this CPU power that they want on the bitcoin network is used for something. And I've yet to find what it's used for, and I doubt it's for something good. a computer engineer like me Bitcoin only pays you if you are using your CPU power to break algorithms. I've been doing some more research [...] There's an unlimited, infinite amount of bitcoins. You just gotta have your CPU spinning on a 100%. And you're providing service to the hackers that are using your CPU to break algorithms. Wow... This cannot be real, the guy is obviously trolling, right ? Fun stuff, anyway! No, I assure you he aint trolling, hes being serious lol! I cant believe his blatant false claims either & his logic is so flawed. There were some video responses agreeing w/ him too. One guy is a photographer, much more laid back but basically is like 'yeah bitcoins, I still cant find or be told one good reason to accept them in my business over cash..' LOL theres a whole collection of peeps that think bitcoin is evil based on the most absurd incorrect beliefs...ever...
