1822  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoins become boring? on: June 02, 2013, 05:36:53 AM
is there a good site that shows volume / trades / graphs of all bitcoin exchanges? I remember seeing one long ago but forgot what it was =P

Also, yea we need bitcoin to be quiet in volatility but... in terms of volume, it would be nice to have some massive volume w/ not much volatility - would reflect a massive demand in exchanging it - thus more widespread adoption.

there any way to overclock them?
1826  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: 5970 Highest OC without Overvolt? on: June 01, 2013, 07:59:32 AM
While my 5970's dont run at their highest OC due to VRM Temps getting pretty high. I found a nice sweet spot - 770mhz @ 1v on 3 5970's

you would need some sort of remote / ip based power control unit .. those are pretty expensive 100-200$ or more last time I checked.
1829  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: BIPS.me – Free Merchant Solutions and Mobile eWallet - 45 Supported Currencies on: June 01, 2013, 12:33:28 AM
yeah, I just did a small test tx after opening an account there and the balance was less than the amount of btc I sent them...something weird is up, either its bugged or they are lying about their 0 fees

if you look at the HTML report of your tx, you will see a column saying 'fee' on receiving tx, that appears to be the amount you are short when they are added up.

Its a shame too cuz I really liked their mobile / POS checkout design.
1830  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: New mining calculator taking difficulty development into account on: May 31, 2013, 04:11:49 PM
Hey, to the OP any chance you can add the BTC calculation in as well? (BTC paid, ROI, profit .. etc...)
1831  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Avalon batch [2] countdown! on: May 31, 2013, 04:10:57 PM
Batch 2 was exactly 1500$! Batch 3 was 75 btc!

Please stop counting in USD... We all count in BTC as we invested BTC.

If you invested BTC 76.2 for a batch #2 machine, you need to be able to generate those BTC 76.2 back,
otherwise you don't break even.

It does not matter what the underlying USD exchange rate is, unless for those who need to pay their electricity bills

If you want to see the exact prices people paid for each batch, check my earlier post

Right now you can mine ~2.8 bitcoins per day with a Batch 2 Avalon. Now you tell me how will the roi be negative please.

With more and more ASIC coming online, those 2.8 BTC /day will dwindle to fractions of that, thus making it harder and harder to catch up with those BTC 76.2

See the trend?

All depends on how you count your pennies man! Sure, I paid 55btc for avy batch 2... Ill probably make that back, but in USD equivalent Ill for sure make it back if I cash that out at appropriate time =P
1832  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Avalon batch [2] countdown! on: May 31, 2013, 04:09:20 PM
nice, although the increase in diff in coming months will more be like a curve rather than linear... but if I had to guess, at some point it will taper off to a less increase so , one could say they will eventually average each other out. Meaning less profit toward the beginning .. and smoother over time.
1833  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: New mining calculator taking difficulty development into account on: May 31, 2013, 02:52:44 PM
Unfortunately, its still greatly miss-leading at this point as ASIC's have not started to flood in. And it will likely be a month or more before the Tsunami.

Sure there will be a flood, but will taper off too which can be somewhat absorbed by applying the average over the whole curve
1834  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Avalon batch [2] countdown! on: May 31, 2013, 02:43:04 PM
http://www.coinish.com/calc/#

That calculator rules...
based on a 1.5month delivery time till most batch 2 are delivered, current price, & diff increase of 1.3%/day over next 12 months
ROI is 5 days
Profit is nearly 12k USD

shoulda sold my unit when people offered 30k for it =P
heres to hoping price of btc goes up =)

Based on 2.5month delivery for batch 3, cost of hardware 7200$, hashrate 90gh - ROI 17 days, profit is 6300$ in 12months

Those USB miners people are gobbling up... ROI is never =P, they would be out 130$ given market conditions remain same.

Very interesting projections.
I think the avy batch 2 has the most projected profit behind 1.5TH BFL product - if its even 1.5TH anymore, somewhere I read they downgraded it to 500GH for future orders...

my current 3300mh/s GPU setup which already reached roi long ago, still has bout 1100$ of profit projected for 12 months, by comparison.
1835  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: New mining calculator taking difficulty development into account on: May 31, 2013, 04:46:02 AM
yeah, this makes my avy batch 2 projections look really depressing =(
only 13k USD if I get the thing 1.5 months from now, even less due to the mentioned above in previous post...
fk, shoulda sold it for 30k when I had offers for that much.

Anyways, thanks for ur calc dude! it fucking rules =)
1836  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: Two 7850s running drastically differently on: May 31, 2013, 04:25:07 AM
agree w/ checking the asic quality, thats a damn nice feature. I bought 2x 7870 tahiti powercolor cards & one card is 75% the other is only 62% .. the one thats less requires higher voltage & runs hotter and consumes more power to reach clocks within 30mhz of the one w/ higher ASIC quality
1837  Economy / Digital goods / Re: WTS: 1 AMD Gift package(bioshock, far cry 3 & tomb raider) on: May 31, 2013, 12:47:20 AM

1838  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: 1Kw PSU apparently not enough juice for 2x7970's Ghz Editions... on: May 30, 2013, 11:06:09 PM
dude, NEVER FUCKING BUY a bargain priced PSU thats of no brand, especially a cheapass highwattage PSU..
Their a flatout lie, and yes they can get away w/ it for some reason legally...no fucking idea why, it should be fucking outlawed to lie that much to a customer.
But yes, manufactures often can fake the logos for many of the certifications they have to pass to be 'safe'
Such as UL etc...
There are cheap high watt PSUs all over the place that make me fucking pissed off. They can handle most like maybe 200watts when they are labeled 600+ watts.
On top of that .. the shit PSUs feed horrible quality DC to your PC components...causing all sorts of stress on their VRMs ... its a sad situation.
1839  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [AVALON] - I got my ASIC Thread (Batch #2) on: May 30, 2013, 08:24:15 PM
if those are GX 750 psu's ... they are pretty sucky, would recommend switching them out w/ something more reliable ...
1840  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: AMD 7790(GCN 1.1) on: May 30, 2013, 07:38:35 PM
Just wanted to throw an update out there, had a moment to test a 7790 on a machine.
Configuration: win7 64, 7790 specific drivers on amd's website, cgminer 3.0.1
-k diablo -I 11 -v 1 -w 64

Surprisingly, during mining, powerplay is keeping the memclock @ 150mhz(2d clock)
Its keeping the gpu at its appropriate 1050mhz(3d clock)

in cgminer I put core on 1150mhz(mem still stayed at 150mhz) and hashing @ 300mh/s(not to bad!)

By far the easiest card configuration Ive ever done to get appropriate clocks =P

UPDATE: its wattage at this clock is only 90watts! holy cow, thats greater than 3mh/s/W ! thats really nice
