As far as the use of Bitcoin as an exchange medium is concerned, the nominal price of the coin does not matter except to the extent that the current price of about $125 makes it impossible to use BitCoins to buy a hamburger.
WTF?!?! you would think these guys know that Bitcoin is divisible to .00000001
1845  Bitcoin / Press / Re: 2013-05-29 - O'Reilly Radar: Bitcoin is a money platform with many APIs on: May 30, 2013, 04:23:21 AM

1846  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Stealth Runner Hidden Application Question on: May 29, 2013, 06:17:35 PM
use my windows stealth miner for minerd =P
runs it as a service
optionally can be configured to stop mining when taskmgr & perfmon are opened, and it starts mining when they are closed
There is a more advanced version that has remote command n control abilities as well

1847  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [AVALON] - I got my ASIC Thread (Batch #2) on: May 29, 2013, 04:51:13 PM
most of the units are black so far. I remember the official word being the end of batch 2 being black and the beginning / mid being silver still....makes me wonder what happened to all those silver ones. Or did they simply get more time to switch to black due to the delay of SMT installation?

1849  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [AVALON] - I got my ASIC Thread (Batch #2) on: May 29, 2013, 06:39:45 AM
Ordered Feb 10th 2013, arrived this afternoon.
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=183598.0  ( For sale if you're willing to pay )

Components had a bit of caked on dust which wouldn't come off with an air duster.

As to why I received before some Feb 3rd orders, I'm not really sure. I did note issues trying to order on Feb 2nd and 3rd, perhaps I was bumped up in the queue because of that...

caked on dust? wow they musta been mining w/ some for quite some time...those fuckers...

If the network adjusts difficulty to average 10 minutes based on the speed of discovery of the past 2016 blocks, we’re almost guaranteed to continue seeing average discovery time below 10 minutes as long as computing power continues to grow. In addition to fundamental forward projections for technology like Moore’s Law, there are already known surges in network computing power in the pipeline. With Avalon ASICs now shipping, 10,000 USB miners from ASICMiner currently in production, and Butterfly Labs supposedly, maybe, eventually delivering thousands of backordered units, there’s strong reason to believe this trend will continue.

Love it! LOL
1851  Bitcoin / Press / Re: 2013-05-28 Anyone Into Bitcoin Has To Be Really Happy This Month on: May 28, 2013, 06:59:02 PM
The market is stagnant atm...not stable.
Stable would be if there is just as much volume in trading as there was in april w/o the crazy price swings...
Only then and even more volume would it be considered stable.
I suspect the low volume is due to the ever increasing of moving funds between currencies into & out of bitcoin.

cgminer 3.1.1 seems to have this issue for me on random gpu's too, it happens over time after hours of mining, randomly start to get HW errors - invalid nonce.
I went back to older cgminer version and problem went away...

1854  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: Cheap Mining Rig - Pentium D Sufficient? on: May 25, 2013, 09:21:23 PM

1855  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Got my new 7870 LE EZ Tahiti GPU - 550 mhash BTC but only 350 khash LTC? WTF? on: May 25, 2013, 02:15:38 AM
um..... your clocks are fuxxored for ltc mining.....
Your RAM should be clocked higher than the core. The core about 30% less than RAM clock speed.
1856  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Why people keep recomputing hashes? on: May 24, 2013, 05:59:07 AM
yeah, to put quite simply... there is no "might get used again"
plus making a database that huge... yeah, no... lol
1857  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Got my new 7870 LE EZ Tahiti GPU - CGMINER shuts down on startup. on: May 24, 2013, 05:35:44 AM
yeah, I notice that the latest drivers, 13.4 dont come w/ the opencl package and , well either way...cgminer just crashes when tryin to use those drivers and any sdk version.
On both my rigs which are 7xxx machines & 5xxx machines, I ended up using atimans uninstaller to completely wipe all traces of ati drivers and use older versions...works w/o a flaw
1858  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: PowerColor 7870 Myst Edition Tahiti LE 516MH/s 69C -20% voltage on: May 24, 2013, 02:18:21 AM
still no gauge from the wall about power consumption Sad
so it's difficult to decide whether it's efficient

they arent that effecient. any GPU w/ decent amount of shaders laser castrated is not gonna be that effecient.
1859  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: Would unpowered risers damage the x16 slots of a mobo? on: May 22, 2013, 11:02:47 PM
thats gotta be one hell of a decent board =P
I blew a motherboard using an unpowered extension cable for a 5970....just one x1 slot ... it went poof a few days later(the board)
