I never used IRC until I started reading these forums and people kept talking about it.

I see the price per share just took a nose dive. Did the held assets value really just drop 20%, or is that just due to such low liquidity on the GLBSE?

Just received my 52 BTC principle back from Dank. I was hesitant to deposit, and I was a little bit nervous. I did as much due diligence as I could have done, and I came to think that Dank is an honest guy. Receiving my principle back, that conclusion still stands. Dealing with him has been a hassle-free, positive experience.
Dank, big +1
Thanks again.

So this is more a large shareholder selling off a portion of his holding, rather than the comapny issuing new stock. I thought that was settled several pages ago?

Hey Bitcoin is great but lets not forget the point here: Ron Paul. Thanks to all bitcoiners down there at the rally for supporting Ron Paul and having a hope for the future of the USA! I've never seen so many USans stand for a politician before. Never seen tens of thousands turning out to see a politician, nor a polititician who continuously demonstrates a factor of 10 more interest than any others in polls, search trends, and turnout at rallys at speeches. Take a look at all the professionally done animations and support videos for Ron Paul by citizens on their own dime. There are several pretty decent rap songs about this guy. Even video games. I'm not old enough to remember JFK but I think this outpouring of support and love is the biggest seen by any politician perhaps in the history of the nation. Has there ever been this kind of support from the populace for any DC politician? How will these RP folks feel about paying taxes and supporting DC when Dr. Paul is gone? What do people turn to when hope to save the system from the inside dies? Currently live feed from USF sun dome: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hEmDu1AYA4o What do you mean dies? Ron Paul has educated numerous people about the message of Liberty, and raised monetary awareness by explaining the Fed and fiat currency. There are Paul supporting candidates rising to positions of political power all over the country. In a few years the Paul movement will probably control the Republican Party. Things are just getting started. And there is Rep Justin Amash (R-MI) already in the house, continuing Dr. Paul's fight for Liberty. Just to name one in particular.

Quite why anyone would be happy with the terms, given what their legal and contractual exposure, and expected returns might be, (and post a 20 BTC arrogance tax!), is surprising indeed. I may be missing something though....
Some people might expect the revenue to increase at least in the short term. Some people might view this as less risky than other investments in bitcoin.

Because anybody can be successful at anything, but only if you believe you can be.
You should read "The seven habits of highly effective people" by Steven Covey. There is more to being successful than just believing.

This thread is a great example of what not to title your thread, since the title conveys absolutely no information about the topic of the tread. A better title would be "Is the BFL minirig actually as great a moneymaker as I think it is?".

I'm thinking of tier names right now. Tier 1 would be GLBSEBlue for "bluechip" shares, Tier 3 being GLBSEPink for pink sheets (and all the risk, none of the requirements).
Anyone have a good name for Tier 2 middle tier?
How about GLBSEWhite? Since you have to get some verificaton to get out of the bottom tier, it would be like whitelisting the assets?

Why are the share prices different, and increasing, for the three initial batches?
Because that is how evoorhees set it up. It rewards the first investors more than the people who are waiting to see if anybody else is jumping in.

I'm in for Romney, I'm normally anti big-business, and often lean a little towards the left, however I think the only way to fix the economy is with business. Someone who made a fortune running businesses (even the ones he closed) can fix the economy, and work on the debt. You can run a business with money you don't have, just like you can't run a country with money you don't have. I stand by Romney, even though I can't vote, and the people's vote doesn't matter in an election.
The problem with this is that Romney's business experience is all in government-connected big-businesses. He has very little understanding of how small businesses, the engine of job growth, work. He'll do a great job ensuring profits for large companies with lobbyists, but won't be able to solve the real problems. Here is another way Johnson is better than Romney. Johnson has plenty of business experience at the other end of the scale, he built up his own company from the ground floor.

Congratulations on selling out the first batch of stock! Despite all the naysay we have some people who recognize value when they see it!
There are still 48667@0.0034 and new patch of 3 million shares @ 0.0037 btc will be dumped on Aug 26, midnight GMT? This is far form "sold out" I think the .0034 shares were from the second batch, so the first batch was sold out at .0032, right?

Yes it's possible just holding btc could be more profitable(and it has been over the last few months), but it's also more risky because if the price falls by 50% your wealth falls by 50% where as holding mining bonds you would be better protected in such a situation. Basically the reason you think mining bonds are turds is because you could put your wealth into something riskier and potentially profit even more - well duh but you're forgetting you could also lose a lot more if things go south too.
The issue with those bonds is that they will lose value even if BTC price goes up. The issue with those bonds is that they will also lose value even if BTC price goes down.

Yup, we're all criminals and Bitcointalk is a subsidiary of Silk Road, Mybitcoin, MtGox, and Bitcoinica. We're all nothing but scammers, liars, thieves, murderers and druggies. (/sarcasm)
Let's see here: Silk Road brings the druggies, Mybitcoin and Bitcoinica bring the thieves, liars and scammers, so I guess MtGox must be run by murderers? Wow, I should really stop using them as an exchange, I wouldn't want to support murderers!

Someone once told me if you cry about it, it will all go away. There is lots of crying on this board but nothing goes away.... so stock crying about everything.
I think it works better to say "ignore it and it will go away". I agree. There are some variables that complicate this (internet, anonymity, etc), but ironically it's not a problem unless you're trying to promote anonymity (which I disagree with, just look at the sockpuppetry here)
Hey, I'm a sockpuppet, and I still try to be civil.

I agree buying a fixed MH/s rate perpetual bond in bitcoin mining doesn't make sense with the long term trend in increasing network difficulty hash-rate. That's why at RSM - https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=63257.0 - you own actually own a share of all the hardware, wallet and anything else of value. With us also saving between 90% to 50% of mining profits (to be decided by motion) to purchase more ASIC's to increase the MH/s a share-rate to beat the long term trend in growth increasing network difficulty hash-rate. Meaning our share price value shouldn't decrease on the long term trend of increasing network difficulty like fixed rate bonds but actually grow and with that you will get a weekly dividend. But what you describe is a share of a bitcoin mining operation, which is totally different than a fixed hash bond. A fixed share bond only makes sense to buy if you think the difficulty will go down, which has not happened even when the bitcoin price dropped by an order of magnitude.

If only this were a representation of the actual votes.
I go libertarian, but if I had to pick a different party I would go with the greens. The country would be so much better if it was a choice between those two parties instead of the D/R.

I notice you've just been paying 1% og .5% pretty much every day lately, instead of some seemingly random number. Did you get bored of pretending that the dividend is based on real income?
I notice you don't bother reading the threads you post in, instead just post some seemingly random troll post. Did you get bored of pretending you had anything better to do? I think it is a valid question. If I understand correctly, since the recent drop of the BTC/USD price last weekend, there is a surplus in the dividend buffer and so the payments are at the upper limit, 1%?

You can plea all you want, but I don't think it'll change things. This is about as free and unrestricted of a forum as you'll find, which is why it is what it is - a cesspool. A while back, I attempted to start up a competitor forum that would actually ban people if they weren't sufficiently respectful, among other rules, but was unable to draw a sustainable crowd.
So, I await the next true rival to the forum, that I may move on to someplace less... awful than this.
There is the totalitarian way to have good behavior - by rules and punishment - and then there is the libertarian way to have good behavior - by letting people make the choice themselves. We do not have to change the rules, we must just encourage people to act better.

And annual dividend yield of IPO prices is 19.15%. Why are you defrauding your investors?
Oh noes, he is *only* paying out 19.15% a year! What a rip off! I could totally get that by investing in the fiat world at ... um ... somewhere?
