I made a transaction that never went through. Logs have the transaction but minergate explorer doesnt. Any clues?

Can you find it using print_tx command?

it says transaction wasn't found...

is there something like rescan on bitcoin?

I don't think so.

I assume spent funds are missing from your balance? I also assume that you have simplewallet.log file from that period - try to send that particular sending moment to the dev or post it here - let's take a look.

Why is there suddenly 15-20 blocks found per hour if the blocktime is 60 sec ?

Looks like some big miner went away. It's been a crazy few days FCN as the difficulty rose from 3m to 28m or smth. And it's just 20m right now.

Blockchain can be found in /home/.fantomcoin but as far as I know win7 blockchain won't be supported in the OSX.

Can't help you with LAN config didn't ever used one or even tried Sad

Ok ta
LAN config not going too well
Code:
Failed to get block1
Is home/.fantomcoin /usr/local/bin?
Are the .files hidden
(Sorry I'm new to mac but reasonable with Win and IP stuff)

Yes, .files are hidden. Sorry, can't recall a command for hidden files displaying, try to google it.

This "Failed to get block1" error is common if you messed up the wallet1 or node1. Somewhere in this post dev told that #1 always should be a MRO/QCN/BCN daemon. Try to look into that.

Grin Really flowing now

Where would the block chain files be saved on OSX Mavericks....
Rather than wait for them I was going to drag them out of my Win7 box
Or try and link to the other running instances

Also is anyone running with a cross LAN config?

ie
Code:
minerc --node1=192.168.0.45:8081 --node2=192.168.0.46:24081 --wallet1=ADDRESS --wallet2=ADDDRESS

Then I will only need 2 blockchains and not 2 copies of each and mine to the same wallets?

Blockchain can be found in /home/.fantomcoin but as far as I know win7 blockchain won't be supported in the OSX.

Thanks for the responses.

FCN seems to be a great coin but the price on the exchange is quite discouraging.

Yes, this is why I asked the question earlier - why is it doing so poorly on exchanges?

There was a large dump by someone just recently both in QCN and FCN, which destroyed the exchange rate. I guess now it need some time to cool off and restore at least 0.001 exchange rate.

Is this just a pump and dump coin or one with a development plan and a future?

It's a merged mining coin, the way I see it, it completely relies on the main coins which are so far doing good. I highly doubt that dev will abandon this coin.

After all it's a first merged mining so there is a high chance that FCN will be added to all major pools as a default MM option.

I know it sounds fanboy-ish but so far the dev been very active and helpful.

apologies for posting in 2 different threads but this FCN thread looks busier than the Solominer one
and hopefully someone can point me in the right direction.

Hi -  are there any TARD instructions for getting this working on OSX Mavericks please?

I understand that both daemons for your chosen merged pair need to be running
(really struggling with this... Annoying, as my Win7 setup runs like a dream)
I guess Solominer is the GUI that minerc performs on my win7 Machine

Here's what I've tried
Code:
-bash: fantomcoind: command not found
Code:
-bash: ./fantomcoind: Operation not permitted
so I try with admin privileges
Code:
sudo ./fantomcoind
Password:
sudo: unable to execute ./fantomcoind: Operation not permitted

The above also is the same for simplewallet

What DIR should I put the files into and how do i tweak the permissions so they work please?

I have homebrew and Xcode dev tools installed

I had no problems starting fantomcoind on my laptop (air mid 2013). Was logged in as an admin, navigated to the fantomcoin folder through the terminal and started it "./fantomcoind" - like this.

Quick question: Do merged mined coins tend to be popular among miners?
I so, Fantomcoin should be pretty popular among the early CryptoNote crowd.

FCN was started only ~3 weeks ago. I guess you can differentiate it as "early crowd" material. Wink

I get a little less hash on my old Core i7 920 with the new one. Redownloaded the one from 21. 05.

But thank you for your continued work on it! Smiley

That's weird - got the same CPU and received a ~30% improvement. Maybe you've started wrong SoloMiner?

@amphibian

When can we expect the arrival of solominer faster hash?

It's either today or early tomorrow. Can't say for sure yet.

Cheers.

Okay, cool. Thanks.

Which Crypto Note coin would you recommend me to buy and why, please? Thanks.

I actually think that FCN is a valid option. (not because we're in the FCN thread Cheesy)

This coin is the one and only merged mining coin in CryptoNote so far. It's not expensive atm and has a bright future, since it didn't even hit pools yet. And as we all know: merged mining coin without a MM pool is not as good.

Basically, what I'm try to say here is this: this coin have a good room for development and developer himself seems very nice and active. Maybe he lacks a little bit in marketing but it can be fixed with a strong community which seems to be gathering here.

This is pretty much it, everybody knows about the positive side of MM, same amount of work, double the coins etc. etc.

Hey guys!

Let's all thank our good QuazarCoin friend - OracionSeis - he sent a pull request to FCN git rep. with a latest hash changes - even faster mining is upon us!

Umm how do i mine? I need donor address please help me configure

I remember back in the day college students were more determined to the minor problem solving. Cheesy

#2 is the best so far imo.
118  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [FCN] Fantomcoin. CN based, anonymous, CPU only. Merged mining with BCN,MRO,QCN. on: May 22, 2014, 10:04:59 AM
We need this coin on an exchange!

It is on the exchange - swaphole.com

Is it possible to pool mine on the donor chain while solo mining the FCN for a possible bonus? Difficulty is pretty high now and I'm not sure reverting to solo-mining MRO is worth it.

Unfortunately, it is not possible at the moment. I'm trying to develop a pool, but there is not much time for it. I conctacted MRO pool developer and he said he'll see what he can do about the MM option.

Cheers. Smiley

Let's hope developers will be able to create a MM option for their pool - that would be a blast for FCN.

Is it only possible to solo mine this or does it work with pool mining?

as far as i know there are no pools for FCN yet. i wonder if MRO open-source pool supports merged mining.

I don't think that merged mining is a easy thing to implement to the pool. It's not like it's another BCN fork. (almost :>)

Updated SoloMiner binaries with a up-to-date hash function

THANKS!!!

7x increase on Win7-64  Cheesy

Shocked What CPU are you using?

i3-550, 3.2GHz, LGA1156 --> now getting 18-22h per thread

Nice! Getting the same (+/- 5h/s) hashrate on my i7. I suppose there is not much difference between i3-7
