If seastanding is not an option then think further, how about Greenland ?

To not copy paste just check for some general info here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Greenland

Possibly a much better choice than anything seen from most posts when it comes to landbased locations for a fresh start of something like a bitcoin town. Never easy, but who knows :-)

Seasteading IS an option. The first post mentions making/buying an island. And could be translated into a giant boat if enough people were willing. But having a town full of bitcoiners is where to start. And America is the most bitcoin populated country I believe.

Agreed. This is a fun idea, hehe.
1683  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ripple XRP to go open source on Sept 26 ! (UPDATE - up 83% and climbing) on: September 18, 2013, 06:16:17 PM
Now up almost 100% from when the thread was started less than 4 days ago. Congrats to those who jumped in early but XRP went up 2000% in April/May so it could still have much farther to run.

It can still double from here and be below it's high in June.

Indeed, but looking at depth, we may see a bit of a correction first.

1685  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What should I do if I have 0.0001 BTC in a wallet? on: September 18, 2013, 04:53:56 PM
You can import the private key into another wallet and include the .0001 in a future payment where fees are paid from another address.

I'm joining as an excuse to familiarize myself with the ins and outs of short-term investment.  I look forward to learning as much as possible and getting to know everyone!
Check out the Speculation forum. It's a real zoo. And don't take anyone's advice there. LOL...  Cheesy
1687  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Do you think BTC will hit $200? on: September 18, 2013, 04:50:05 PM
It will obviously pass $200 again, and $1000 in the future. I think quite a bit more than that as well, eventually.  Wink
1688  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How to clone Bitcoin to create your own virtual currency or crypto shares on: September 18, 2013, 04:49:28 PM
I'm not sure what this really brings to the table. Maybe it went over my head.  Undecided

is there any faucet that gives you like 0.01 per day?
Hehe, wouldn't that be nice? I think it would dry up pretty quick.

regarding the sentiment, though, faucets are a waste of time, unless you're waiting for 7 figure $ BTC...  Wink

What kind of income is realistic on a part-time basis? Per week, or month, etc?  Smiley

Per round, which is basically per month.

No set amount, based on shares.

180,000,000 coins per round
1,000 words gets you 1 share of the coins
You can get 80 shares per round
There can be an unlimited number of publishers, but each gets 80 shares max per round. So share sizes are random depending on post counts.

So based on my rough fuzzy math, if you get the max shares per round, you could expect maybe .5 - 1.5 BTC per round?

I got $2000 my first round writing 64,000
And at LEAST .5 BTC for 15,000 this round (and DVcoins will be half the price they were when I made $2000 )... So I think your math is a little too fuzzy, lol.

Wow, surprising. I'll have to check this out. Thanks for the tip.

Nice slow slide to 65-90.  Cool
1697  Economy / Speculation / Re: What are you doing here? on: September 17, 2013, 10:49:50 PM
Most of polls here are answered within 24h. So people are hanging here all day through. At the same time, polls show that most of us are "buy and hold". I.e. need to visit this forum maybe once a year.

So, if we are not speculating, what are we doing at the speculation forum?  Grin

Is that right? Not me. (Well a small % of my coins aren't to be touched, but mostly mid-term trading here)

1699  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Why Is Argentina's Bitcoin Community so Active? on: September 17, 2013, 08:54:45 PM
Not easy to acquire coins, as far as I've heard, either.

That's true anywhere. Turning cash into coins is a problem, unless you know someone who will sell the coins to you personally.

Moreso a problem, though, when you look at peso/btc market vs. usd/btc market. Then figure what it means for Argentinians to have to get peso to usd to btc.....
