1441  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Vault of Satoshi - New Exchange on: October 19, 2013, 11:49:03 PM

Looking at the order book -- https://vaultofsatoshi.com/orderbook -- I don't know if I'm ready to move any funds there. 0.5% trade fees for <100 BTC traded in a month (I mean, look at that order book). Can't see deposit/withdrawal options.
1442  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Can't delete account? on: October 19, 2013, 11:46:25 PM
You can also try to pm theymos if you really want to delete it (not sure if possible).
Yeah, you could pm theymos, but it seems of the lowest priority and frankly, I am not sure why it matters so much that it needs to be deleted. Maybe I am missing something.  Huh
1443  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How do you earn your bitcoin ? on: October 19, 2013, 11:45:00 PM
After initially funding with a P2P trade for bank transfer, I've made a bit from trading. I made a few coins selling the XRP from the Ripple giveaway, so that was sweet. Working on ways to make more...
1444  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: will the bitcoin reach $1000 one day...? on: October 19, 2013, 11:43:23 PM
I'm really not sure where the price is going to go with this rally. A part of thinks we might even hit $1000 soon.... but I'm getting more bearish by the day. We need a nice correction before continuing on, otherwise we might crash down hard.
1445  Economy / Speculation / Re: When will Bitcoin hit $200? on: October 19, 2013, 11:30:32 PM
I think $200 will be a point of moderate resistance (not really talking about Gox per se). I've become a bit bearish, though, and I'm not sure how much higher this rally will go.  Undecided
1446  Economy / Speculation / Re: What if Gox runs out of Bitcoins? on: October 19, 2013, 03:37:25 AM
Bitstamp and the Chinese exchanges are keeping up with MTGox http://btckan.com/price. Also BTC will flow into MTGox at a price. Let us not forget that EUR and JPY can and do leave MTGox.

No they're not, Bitstamp has been hovering around $150 now for a while.
For reference:

I's say they are keeping up. And correct me if I'm wrong, but Bitstamp led the run-up this morning, 3:00.
1447  Economy / Speculation / Re: What if Gox runs out of Bitcoins? on: October 19, 2013, 03:28:35 AM
Might be, rally is only on Gox.
What? Bitstamp is up $10 over the last 18 hours. And looking at bitcoinity (not sure how accurate), they started the movement this morning -- Gox and Chinese markets lagged by quite a bit.
1448  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer - MtGoxUSD wall movement tracker - Hardcore on: October 19, 2013, 03:18:41 AM
Wasn't there a wall at 170? I could have sworn..... did it get eaten? Or pulled? Maybe I am just trippin... Just hit 171, let's keep this going!  Smiley
1449  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer - MtGoxUSD wall movement tracker - Hardcore on: October 19, 2013, 02:31:47 AM
I'm just thinking that when everyone's partying and there are no bears left I start smelling blood.

In other words I see no reason for this price move up. Baidu news? Naah, that address only got a few transactions and lots of spam.
So wtf is going on? To da moon? new paradigm? 300kUSD/xBT? The singularity? Don't think so.

Huh Time to move some coins from cold walled to Stamp.

That's not what I've been seeing -- not yet, but maybe I am reading selectively. I remember in April getting super annoyed at the bull circle jerk that was this forum... not as much now. I think we might have some inflating to do.  Smiley
1450  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Mtgox account hacked and emptied by huge mining fee on: October 18, 2013, 11:51:27 PM
Maybe it can be submitted via the API somehow, but there's not a way in the web interface to even specify a fee that high. Have you contacted gox support? What did they say?
This is what I am confused about. I don't trade on Gox, so excuse my noobish sentiment, but do you have a choice re the fee you pay on BTC withdrawal there? Like, on Bitstamp, there is no fee on BTC withdrawals, and on BTC-E, it is like .001 fee.
1451  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Blockchain.info or inputs.io wallet? on: October 18, 2013, 11:49:33 PM
I trust TF (this is key to using Inputs, IMO),

Sure, but do you trust any and all government agencies not to shut him down?

Do you trust him not to ever die, or to have made appropriate arrangements for you to continue to access your bitcoins if he does die?

Do you trust everyone that he has given access to the service (including those who have access after his death)?

No, but I should clarify, if I didn't, that I don't feel secure (period) using an online wallet. It is only for temporary / short-term use or small BTC balances. You bring up good points.  Smiley
1452  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: BTC not so anonymous with Coinbase? on: October 18, 2013, 11:48:04 PM
Mix them?
Yes, use a coin mixing service so that the coins you bought aren't the coins that are in your possession -- ie. the Coinbase coins that were tied to your IP/bank account are no longer the coins you hold. Then you just need to come up with a story re what ever happened to those coins, should it come up. Like, when the tax man comes knockin.  Smiley
1453  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Beware of Mt. Gox - can't get Bitcoin out now without photo ID! on: October 18, 2013, 11:46:28 PM
Please screenshot (with URL in address bar) where it says "Attention Users: All withdrawals and deposits require account verification." I can't find that, I'm not verified or trusted, and on my Withdraw Funds tab, it says

Quote
BTC : You can still withdraw up to 100.00000000 BTC provided you have enough on your account (your limit is 100.00000000 BTC per 24 hours )
USD : You can still withdraw up to $1,000.00000 provided you have enough on your account (your limit is $1,000.00000 per 24 hours and $10,000.00000 per 30 days)

Interesting. Still doesn't affect me since I don't trade on Gox, but can anyone confirm?

IMHO, it's a completely shitty business practice to allow people to fund an account without releasing high quality identity docs then turn around and demand them for withdrawal of the same funds.
Completely agree. I think it's shady as hell. It screams of an after-the-fact CYA mentality and is completely unappreciated. Still... so it goes.
1454  Economy / Speculation / Re: $3 rise in the last hour on: October 18, 2013, 11:38:54 PM
Only 6500 coins need to be bought to pass 180 on Gox. How many business days has it been, Adam?  Cheesy
1455  Economy / Speculation / Re: $3 rise in the last hour on: October 18, 2013, 11:19:15 PM
Where is all the Bitcoin Bubble hype in the media this time?  In April they were going crazy with how the bubble was going to burst when it was about this price.

Yes but the start price was at 20. Next media Bubble hype attention will be when we pass 300 I believe.
I think 200 will be quite significant as far as speculation in the news goes. And definitely once we pass the ATH.
1456  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer - MtGoxUSD wall movement tracker - Hardcore on: October 18, 2013, 11:17:54 PM
Prepare for panic buying. Number of news articles will take off again when we're approaching $200  Cheesy
I'd like to think so, as I am holding quite a bit of coin (for my standards), but I'm not so sure. The charts sure do look bullish, though.

I think at that time, the price movement was much faster. I think from under this price point to the ATH was less than a week. Don't have the same kind of frenzy this time.
1458  Economy / Services / Re: 0.4 BTC / month free (Best payouts - NO POSTING NEEDED & Updated :) on: October 18, 2013, 10:56:06 PM
Could somebody quickly explain to me what the "activity" means, in the OP? Is that just posts/month?

You have an "activity" number under your name where "posts" used to be. It uses some algorithm based on posts and time spent on the forum.
1459  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [DVC]DevCoin - Official Thread - Moderated on: October 18, 2013, 09:53:35 PM
Any more information on how the devtome rater program will be implemented? Have admins been granted rater privileges, and will it be another multiplier in addition to the earnings multiplier?

Thanks.  Smiley
1460  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why the loss of confidence in litecoin? on: October 18, 2013, 09:48:51 PM
Where are the best places to purchase or otherwise obtain litecoin?

i recomend cryptsy.com

is year always alt coins normal official and real exchanges stable rate % fee

I am always frustrated by cryptsy. I really only use it at this point to dump crap altcoins because liquidity is very low there. Every time you place a limit order, bots repeatedly move orders 1 satoshi (or similar) above you, and since there is no liquidity/movement, your order never gets filled. I stick to BTC-E.
